Wow Emz, sounds like you're doing great at the exercise. No surprise you're down another few pounds.
I've finished eating for the day, just under 1300 which is great but I am so so tired. Over 8000 and my Davina this morning has my shattered!! I need my bed 😴

MustBeThin · 11/02/2016 09:12

Omg I'm still 12st 11??!!! 😢 what is happening? Usually if 1lb of bloat appears it's gone the next day, this 2lb hasn't. I don't understand, I've been eating the exact same things since 4the January, I've still been weighing everything and putting everything onto MFP. How can I have weighed 12st 9 for two days then wake up yesterday and be 12st 11. I felt really bloated yesterday but today I feel fine. I'm so sad/angry.

chuchiface · 11/02/2016 09:13

Can I join you all please? Currently 11st 4 and should be around 10 stone (5 ft 8) feeling bloated and nothing fits so determined to turn this around.

JontyDoggle37 · 11/02/2016 09:18

not2b be careful you're eating enough to actually fuel yourself.
Must weight loss is not linear and hardly ever makes sense. Hang in there, you will get a whoosh in the next day or so.
I'm up a pound today, hopefully just too much water storage from eating bread the last few days.

StewardsEnquiry · 11/02/2016 09:35

MustBe just keep on keeping on. It isn't real weight and it will whoosh off. I keep a spreadsheet with my daily weights and get it to plot a graph - the trend is downwards but the actual line is all over the place!

Welcome churchiface good luck! How many calorie's will you be aiming for?

I have had a whoosh overnight of nearly 2lb so I am 9st 11 and 1/8. Very pleased with that.

Not2bObvious · 11/02/2016 09:45

I had adjusted my mfp to lose 2lb a week which was allowing me 1200 cals, I changed to 1.5lb a week, only up to 1220! That just sounded ridiculous, so I entered 1lb a week and I'm now allowed 1470. Funnily enough I can do 1200 - I just can't stand looking at that as my max allowed for the day, it's too low day 2 day. Still just under the 12 stone, so my last hurrah didn't mess it up entirely.
Must, pop the scales away for a week - that would be my advice, you're doing extremely well and your trend is downward. You can't let it rule your moods (well you can but its not doing you good) Keep doing what you're doing, you won't fail

StewardsEnquiry · 11/02/2016 10:18

Not2 yes I am loving seeing 1440 for my calorie allowance! I feel like I can eat everything!

ThatIsSoFetch · 11/02/2016 13:32

I had a health check at work today- Blood pressure, cholesterol & waist to height ratio are all great. However, they said my height was 5ft 4.5 when I've always thought it was 5ft 5 so my i'm even more overweight on the bmi chart than I thought I was! Sad I need to lose at least 10lbs to be in the healthy range!

JontyDoggle37 · 11/02/2016 13:40

Fetch appreciate the NSV victories, and plan how to fix the rest. Don't beat yourself up because someone else measures differently to you.
Question on a different topic: is anyone else who is at or near goal absolutely bloody FREEZING all the time? Last time I got to this weight it was summer so I didn't notice, but this time I've got three duvets on at night and still can't get warm🙄

ThatIsSoFetch · 11/02/2016 16:42

Thanks Jonty I've worked out my problem- I'm not too heavy, i'm just too short!! Grin

StewardsEnquiry · 11/02/2016 16:47

Jonty yes utterly freezing but I am a cold person anyway so no different to usual for me!!

chuchiface · 11/02/2016 18:29

Thanks for the welcome, I'm aiming for 1500 calories a day as I will just give up if it's too low.

mountains · 11/02/2016 19:21

... I have to say that I've looked at that Dr Mosley no sugar thread, possibly on the 5:2 subsection, and I've started to eat more protein than carbs, and I feel a lot less hungry!
Had 3 egged from breakfast, and a tub of low fat Greek yogurt for lunch, and wasn't starving when I had dinner half an hour ago. Maybe worth considering if 1200 looks too little. It did to me and I kept on being v hungry and falling off the wagon. Feeling better now, and like I could keep it up.

mountains · 11/02/2016 19:23

'Michael Mosley Blood sugar diet' is what the thread is called. There are also quite good ideas on the other fasting threads.

wispaxmas · 11/02/2016 19:30

Hiya, mind if I join in? I opened MFP today for the first time since June last year and stepped on the scales for the first time since as well.. Well.. 2kg up since then and officially fatter than I have ever been before.

I don't really know stones, but I'm 86kg. I was 78kg before I had my LG and 74kg when I got married, but to be considered 'healthy' I'd need to be 68kg, so I'm actually 18kg (40lbs) overweight. Awesome. I'd be happy to lose even half that, though.

Anyways, I've put in my goal as losing 1/2kg per week, it's given me a 1470kcal limit. I've stuck to it for 2 days now (woohoo?), dusted off the spin bike (ouch, my a$$ hurts), and fired up my endomondo app.

Not2bObvious · 11/02/2016 21:35

Welcome new folks, the more the merrier😁 I've closed my day a shade under 1500 cals and done over 13,000 steps, zonked now! First night with other people drinking, I had a alcohol free beer - only 35cals and it hit the spot (couldn't have more than 2, they're not that great) Planning more exercise for the weekend, all positive yeah!

mountains · 11/02/2016 23:17

Hi wispasmax, I don't do stones either and wish I did as it's what everyone uses, and it would 'talk' to me more! Lbs losses I understand, I just have no idea where everyone is starting from (should print off table!). Other than that I think I might have to buy a Fitbit.

ThatIsSoFetch · 12/02/2016 09:12

I lost 0.5lb this week, not great but better than nothing! I have a 3 course valentines meal this weekend so will have to be extra good next week!!
Will check out the Blood sugar diet thread as I always seem less hungry on low carb.

StewardsEnquiry · 12/02/2016 09:47

Fetch enjoy your valentine's meal!! Well done on your loss.

Mountains I love my fit bit. I think it is very motivating and would recommend to anyone.

Not2 you are really doing a lot of activity! Well done you!

I am down another 3/4lb to 9st 10 and 3/8. My DH asked me not to lose anymore weight this morning. It seems BMI of 20ish is the minimum that is appealing to him! So it is on to maintainace for me now. I am a bit scared of this phase. Any advice from Emz, Jonty and the other maintainers??

StewardsEnquiry · 12/02/2016 09:50

Mfp reckons 1730 cals to maintain and I put my activity level as sedentary. Seems a lot? I might inch toward 1500 and see how that does me.

Not2bObvious · 12/02/2016 11:12

1730 sounds pretty ok stew, you're so long eating so much less I can see how it seems a lot but it's only 2 slices of bread or a decent portion of pasta. Or you could stick with 1500 mon-Friday and have an extra 1000 cals to play with over the weekend? I think I'd keel over in shock if my dh ever told me to stop losing weight, mind I would actually have to lose some to achieve that! And if it ever happens, what'll I do for a hobby then? I suppose maintaining the loss would take over.

StewardsEnquiry · 12/02/2016 11:30

Well same here Not2. If you had told me a year ago that he would tell me I am too thin I would not have believed you!

Maintaining is going to be a lifelong hobby!

Just quickly looking back at my journey :
Start weight 13 st 8 in July last year
Current weight 9st 10 (just about)
Loss 54lb or 24.5kg in 207 days of mfp!
Down 2 dress sizes from 14 to 10
BMI 28.2 to 20.1

Not2bObvious · 12/02/2016 12:33

Those are amazing stats stew, you must be over the moon! How does it feel, is it what you imagined? I'm guessing it takes a while to "feel" slim, psychologically I guess I mean. And to be fair you've probably been slim & within bmi for a good stone or so. Sorry for all the questions, struggling in my head a bit with this weight loss journey or marathon in my case, I'm just a bit tired of obsessing about food and scared it'll never end no matter what size I am.

StewardsEnquiry · 12/02/2016 12:54

That's okay I quite like thinking it through. I am very very happy as this is the first time I have ever managed to keep on a diet long enough to reach my goal. My previous lowest weight was 11st so I am also well below that.

I do definitely feel slim now. I can see it in the mirror and in the comments I get. People who meet me for the first time now think that I am just a naturally skinny Minnie - they don't know the hard work it has taken to get here! My stomach is not flat and toned but I have had 2 children so I am not bothered by that. I look good in clothes and that is good enough for me. My thighs are nice, my upper arms are fine and my bra size has reduced a lot too so I feel good in clothes.

It is a marathon not a sprint so just keep going. And at the end of the journey is maintenance, which is a lot like we are doing now Smile

wispaxmas · 12/02/2016 12:55

Mountains, same re lbs lost, I can understand that just fine, even though I know a stone is 14 lbs I just can't wrap my head around it. I have a Fitbit... I gave up using it as it only counted about half my steps when pushing the pushchair. I should've shelled out for the more expensive one, though, I think I'd like one that is a heart rate monitor, too..
