jonty, life always has a way of getting in the way!

mustbe, I've never seen a change in cravings, but I've never had cravings so much as just really enjoy sweet foods. I still really enjoy sweet foods. I just try to savour a smaller amount of them these days! I once tried to quit sugar. I cut out ALL added sugar from my diet and didn't even use artificial sweeteners in my coffee. It was annoyingly difficult just because of how much label reading I had to do, and even after 6 weeks it didn't have an effect on how much I liked sweet things!

StewardsEnquiry · 15/02/2016 19:44

Also just a flying visit. Staying the same at the moment, so my 1500 or so seems to be okay for me. No exercise though!

maybemyrtle · 15/02/2016 23:00

Hello, may I pls join you? I've been half-arsed with mfp for a while now and haven't lost anything, it's time to start being serious. Yesterday morning I was 10 stone 1 and I'm aiming for 9 stone. MFP has me on 1200 and reckons I'll lose 0.9 lbs per week. I am under today, thanks to bodypump, yay. It starts now.

Thankfulforeveryday · 16/02/2016 08:19

Morning everyone.
Welcome may, I'm sure you'll find this group inspiring, I have. Do you eat back your exercise calories? I try not to do that, as I find I don't lose any weight if I do!
I weighed in at 10.9 this morning so another lb off. 9 to go. My BMI is sitting at 21 now too so that's lots better. 14 weeks until my 1st holiday so I'm hoping I'm at goal then. Then a want yo lose a few more before we go to America in August so I'm not worrying about gaining too much while I'm there!
That's my plan anyway, sorry for the ramble!!
Glad that 2lb came back off must! Your doing so well! Smile

MustBeThin · 16/02/2016 08:34

Morning all, welcome Maybe.

Well done on the loss Thankful bet you can't wait for your holiday. Grin I'm still 12st 9 this morning but it kept juggling between 8 and 9 so hopefully I'm not far off 12st 8. Grin

JontyDoggle37 · 16/02/2016 08:55

Hello to all the new people from the last few days.
Thankful well done on the loss
Stewards well done on maintaining
I'm a bit perplexed here. Have not weighed for about five days, and eaten anything and everything as had poorly horse in and out of vets so been driving up and down Essex a lot and eating from shops etc. I've eaten bread, takeaway, chocolate, you name it. So by rights I should have put on about 3lbs. Except I've lost 0.75lbs. Which has me wondering just how much I need to eat to maintain because I've been well over 2,200 a day by my reckoning and still losing....

Not2bObvious · 16/02/2016 10:34

If weight loss does run 10 days behind actual date jonty, you're probably seeing the fruits of your labour from back then. You sound like you were very active despite eating more, so you probably offset any damage.
I've decided to take a different route for the next 4 weeks and go on the blood sugar diet. It's pretty hardcore but I can't take the way I feel at the minute, I'm replacing what I gave up for lent with other sugary crap. So hardcore I must go! Will check in to see how you're all getting on from time to time - wish me luck 😉

maybemyrtle · 16/02/2016 13:30

Thanks for the welcomes! :)

Thankful that's a good point. I did yesterday, but I probably need to watch that a bit more closely. I do find 1200 quite difficult to be honest. DP does the cooking (I am v lucky) and I don't always have as much control over what we eat and how much.

Can I ask, how often are you weighing yourselves?

Very interested in the idea of a 10 day lag. So even if I'm totally on it this week, I won't notice on the scales until the end of the month? That's actually really motivating.

wispaxmas · 16/02/2016 21:45

Ugh, still trying to shift this cold and failing miserably. I've got NO energy to work out, I'm out of breath just walking around the house doing everyday normal stuff like tidying up after a toddler. Still, I've managed to keep to my MFP calorie goal everyday except Sunday, when I went over by about 30 calories only. It's been a week since my 'start' weigh in, but I'm going to try not to weigh in until next week. Weighing too often doesn't motivate me, it usually makes me depressed and that leads to CakeChocolateCakeChocolate

Work tomorrow through Friday and the real test will be resisting the cookies in the canteen!

StewardsEnquiry · 17/02/2016 08:23

I weigh every single day without fail and will continue to do so now I am at target. I think this is what has made me successful this time and will help me to maintain.

JontyDoggle37 · 17/02/2016 08:45

I weigh every day too. Stayed the same today. It's helped me learn that some increases are down to salt/water/carb bloat, and if I see a bit if an increase I can immediately act in mob it by being a bit more careful for a couple of days

MimiDoddrioni · 17/02/2016 08:51

Hi, may I please join in? I've been doing MFP on and off for about 5 years and was 10st 4lbs when I started. I'm now 9st 5 but that's crept up steadily from 8st 12 in October (goal is 8st 7). I'm only 5'2" and am 6lbs off being overweight according to my bmi. DH and I are trying for a baby but I've had 3 miscarriages in 2 years which hasn't done a lot for either my figure or self-esteem. I can't say I'm hugely motivated to eat healthy or do exercise right now but I know it'll do me the world of good if I can just step away from the chocolate Chocolate and get my arse off this sofa Smile.

aleC4 · 17/02/2016 17:31

I only weigh once a week and at around the same time. If I weigh more regularly I get obsessed with it!
I am on half term at the mo as we're both teachers and I'm trying hard to be good! We are eating out a lot more than usual for various reasons so I've tried to up my exercise to make up for it.

Emz449 · 17/02/2016 19:50

Welcome all that are new! Good luck on your weight loss Smile

Checking in as haven't posted for a few days, completely lost the plot in all honesty! Eaten everything and anything that isn't good for me. There will definitely be a gain for me when i step on the scales next but I've felt like absolute shite for the past few days, have a throat infection and taking antibiotics for it now. It's been gross, my tonsils are a sight Grin tonsil stones and everything disgustingly satisfying to remove them

I will be jumping back on the healthy bandwagon tomorrow. I feel bloated and crap, can't wait to start feeling normal again!

Well, I weighed myself this morning after saying I wouldn't until next week as I hadn't done any exercise. Down 1.3kg (2.8 lbs)! I've kept to MFP calories goals every day, which I never managed when it was set to 1200 last time around. Rather, I would stick to it for a couple days and then everything unraveled. 1420 is just enough more than I don't feel like I'm starving myself. Managed to be more than 1000 calories under my goal for the week, too!!

JontyDoggle37 · 18/02/2016 06:08

Well done wispa haven't weighed here this morning, needed coffee and to start work straight away at 5am 🙄

WizzardHat · 18/02/2016 08:16

I started using MFP almost two weeks ago, hadn't realised there would be a fred about it. I've not stuck to it completely consistently but have lost six lbs so far - quite a bit of that was water, but still pretty pleased I'm under 200lbs again as I'd put a stone on last year. I never thought I'd be happy to see 200lbs again - hello, old friend!
So only 65 or so to go now. Hooray. I'm hoping it goes fairly quickly as I do a fair amount of exercise - but really, so long as it goes, that's the main thing. I'm finding it hard sometimes to keep to the recommended 1200 cals but I usually eat the calories it gives me from exercise so those days are easier.

MimiDoddrioni · 18/02/2016 08:33

I've set MFP to maintenance calories whilst I'm still recovering from my last MC, 1550 calories. I managed to stay away from Chocolate and stick to my target yesterday so at least I shouldn't get any bigger Smile. Aim for today is more of the same plus 10,000 steps.

MustBeThin · 18/02/2016 10:34

Good luck Not2b don't go missing for long.

Well done on the losses, hope you feel better soon Emz

I think my body is back on track after the bizarre week I had last week with the unexpected 2lb gain that hung around for 5 days. I am down 1lb today....well where I usually weigh the scales say 12st 7 which would mean I've lost 2lb (a stone) but everywhere else in my bathroom reads 12st 8 so I suppose I should go with that really. Anyway that means I'm 13lb down since 4th January cannot wait for the 1stone marker I'm so proud of myself. Grin I have never lost this much in my life. I have been really fancying a can of coke the last few days Hmm I've not given in, I haven't had a fizzy drink this year.

wispaxmas · 18/02/2016 21:26

Sorry for your loss, mimi Thanks

JontyDoggle37 · 19/02/2016 13:12

Mimi so sorry for your loss and well done staying away from the chocolate
I'm 1lb up today, due to a very late dinner and also lunch out yesterday, so I know it's just salt/water/undigested food weight, rather than 'real' weight

wispaxmas · 20/02/2016 10:11

Still ill, but still sticking to MFP limits. Nothing else to report really, how's everyone else?

MustBeThin · 20/02/2016 10:41

Get well soon Wispa

Scales are saying I've lost another pound today so I'm now 12st 7 which means I'very lost 1 stone since the 4th January. Grin

JontyDoggle37 · 20/02/2016 13:17

Well done Must that's brilliant!

aleC4 · 20/02/2016 14:05

Well done Must - what's your secret? I have been under my calories pretty much every day since 10th Jan and I've hardly lost anything. It's really getting me own now as I thought this would work so well for me.
