I need to lose 3.5 stone - feel so fed up about it I am ignoring the mince pies and Thornton's chocolates! I have lost weight before with a great bunch of ladies on mn. I feel motivated to do the same again and this time keep it off, I went through my wardrobe and found a very stylish tunic I bought in the South of France that I wore once before gaining weight.

Whatever your approach - low carb, Weight Watchers, Slimmers World or healthy eating, all welcome to join me with motivational tips/chat to keep each other going. I find that I don't stick to any plan and eating at meals times/snack on veg and fruit/exercise works for me.

Look forward to chatting with whoever wants to join Smile

Fluffy I do slimming world and yes I was obsessive at first, but now it comes as second nature (probably because I've been doing it so bloody long!)

I'm a sahm and I often cook extra the night before and have leftovers for lunch. Other things I have are-

Homemade soup-pea and ham, lentil and bacon, butternut squash with chilli are a few of my favourites
Bacon and mushroom omelette (or any filling)
Baked potato and beans
Chicken salad (with new pots in if I'm starving)
Full English breakfast
Selection of lean cold meats with salad ryvita and pickles

I'm weighing later I've been quite good so I hope I've lost.

Goodbetterbest · 06/01/2016 19:53

Another feeling good here. Only eating between 12 noon and 7, bloating has gone, head is clear and I'm a pound or two down. I'm spending the evening getting back into the reading habit instead of prowling around the kitchen Smile

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/01/2016 20:13

Thanks for hug piste. Forgot you always called me B :)

Nargles. Went done on loss

Kim - What is the potato onion egg thing? Sounds yummy and free on SW

Fluffy - not really as try to eat free food daytime and know roughly what Syns are for bad things and that's my treat in eve

Do struggle with lunch. Like salad in summer. Not in winter and tbh doesn't fill me up. Prefer veg. The salmon rice and veg was yummy

Have almost eaten a punnet of grapes - not sure that good on SW ..,,,,,,,

Kim82 · 06/01/2016 20:20

Blondes, I've just asked dh how he makes it and it's really simple but so tasty. He slices potatoes quite thinly and layers potatoes and onions until they reach the top of the casserole dish adding a little salt and pepper, layers streaky bacon on top, puts tin foil over and sticks it in the oven on 180 for around 1.5 hours ish. Once all the potatoes are soft and cooked through plate it up and stick one or two fried eggs in top, pop the yolk and it drips down into the potato.

So yummy and filling.

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/01/2016 20:25

Wow. That's sounds yummy. Thanks and if cut rind off bacon then all free on SW

Gonna try that tomorrow for lunch. Thanks x

Buttwing · 06/01/2016 21:06

Yay I lost 2 and 1/2 pounds!

KeepsAwayTheNargles · 06/01/2016 21:10

Well done Buttwing!

Kim82 · 06/01/2016 21:15

Well done Buttwing!

GettinTrimmer · 06/01/2016 21:20

Pistey well done - 4lb!
Buttwing and to you too. 2.5lb!
Nargles - congrats also - 3lb!

Welcome Squad and error had a count up, 32 of us - I think Noel doesn't wi.

Love the bag by the way Pistey, my sil bought one for me, annotated: 'I remembered to bring this bag. Hoorah!' I take it everywhere with me. Not that I'm forgetful!

Blondes on SW I thought all fruit is free food so grapes are OK?

GBBO how old is baby? I remember the two hour feeds, hope it is a bit better for you tonight.

No exercise today, busy with guest for dinner, db, friend for coffee and clearing up. Avoided Christmas cake and sent db away with a big hunk of it. Wrong thread to ask if anybody wants to come to chez Trimmer for coffee and Christmas cake! Grin

Buttwing · 06/01/2016 21:25

Thank you! Blondes grapes are fine on slimming world unless you are doing an sp day in which case you aren't suppose to eat them as they aren't a speed food. If your just doing a regular extra easy day they are freeSmile

GBBO15 · 06/01/2016 21:36

Trimmer she's 6 months now. Wasn't a bad sleeper until about a month ago when for sudden mysterious baby reasons of her own she started to stay up feeding all night. I've just started introducing solids and things are slowly getting better, but I've also just bought the No Cry Sleep Solution book to see if that can help too. Got a job interview tomorrow too, so praying for a half decent night.
WI due Friday morning and think will try to make a fresh start with the healthy eating then, this week's been a bit of a write off.
So glad you started this thread though, think it will help keep me in check.

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/01/2016 21:43

Well done butt

Know grapes are free but surely shouldn't be able to eat whole punnet ?

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/01/2016 21:43

Add losses to list

Buttwing · 06/01/2016 22:14

Blonde- well technically you can, it's better than half a packet of biscuits! But in an ideal world a smaller portion would be better says the woman who's just eaten 6 chocolate biscuits to celebrate her weight lossGrin

ThatsNotMyHouseItIsTooClean · 06/01/2016 22:38

Well done Pistey, Nargles & Butt! An inspiring start for all of us. Pistey - if you keep going at that rate, you'll be at your goal by Feb half term!
Kim that sounds delicious. DH would hate it but he's away at the end of the month so I'll save it for then.
Fluffy how did you get on at lunchtime?
I had a much better day today. I did the 30 day shred followed by 20 mins on the exercise bike, skipped breakfast as still full of chocolate, had an omelette (well, an eggy mess) made out of 2 eggs, 2 egg whites, spinach, red onion & tomato for lunch and then supper was chicken & veg tray bake with new potatoes.
I'm off to bed.

ThatsNotMyHouseItIsTooClean · 06/01/2016 22:53

Any ideas for a healthy dinner party dessert? We've got friends coming over on Sat night so I want to make something nice but not too calorific.

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/01/2016 23:00

I love grapes.

Also love them made into win

Piste and I love gin

What is gin made out of

And yes grapes better then biscuits but you deserved them as lost weight :)

thewavesofthesea · 06/01/2016 23:47

Blondes - know what you mean about the grapes; I think I went overboard with the fruit when on Slimming world!

Well done Buttwings!

I have done okay the past few days; today I had a brunch out but chose the healthiest option; smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on one bagel. Not too bad but prob not the best!!! Am going out for dinner, prob to an Italian tomorrow, will be driving so no alcohol and will try and choose the best things on the menu. Italian is okay for this though. I have really curbed my snacking between meals which has not been easy, but hopefully will pay off.

Have recently started karate twice a week too with my 6 year old son; really enjoying it and is great exercise too. DS loves the fact that I am doing it with him too!

prettybird · 07/01/2016 00:02

Thatisnotmyhouse - I have a recipe for a cardamom and orange chocolate mousse. I'm on the app so can't search but if you try searching for posts by me with "cardamom chocolate mousse" you should find it.

It's essentially pure melted dark chocolate with a wee bit of cardamom infused milk, the zest and juice of an orange and 2(?) egg yolks mixed together and then the whisked egg whites folded through it.

Spoon into wee espresso cups (if you have them, as it looks good at a dinner party) or ramekins, cover and leave in the fridge.

No added sugar Smile

slithytove · 07/01/2016 00:43

GettinTrimmer · 07/01/2016 06:22

Morning all

It's my wi tomorrow so extra push for me today.

welcome slithy I keep meaning to shred, really works doesn't it? I feel very unfit at the moment so I am pounding my treadmill most days, working it up to running a 5K on it.

Blondes I think gin is made from juniper berries. Don't think it's laden with sugar Smile

GB good luck with job interview. Hope baby settled longer than 2 hours last night?

Have a good day all

GBBO15 · 07/01/2016 08:48

Thanks Trimmer, she did! Had a much better night.
Just to get today over me, WI tomorrow and going to really get the healthy eating sorted. Before pregnancy I used to love to run and do yoga so going to try to find the time to do a bit of these as well - though to be honest I always find my weight loss depends on what I eat, and exercise doesn't really seem to help me. It does make me feel much better about myself though and I need a bit of that right now. Nowhere near fitting into my pre pregnancy clothes and everyday just wearing my breastfeeding uniform of vest/baggy top/jeans. I miss wearing nice things!

FluffyPersian · 07/01/2016 08:49

Congrats Buttwings! (Epic name).

ThatsNotMyHouseItIsTooClean It went well thanks, I actually feel like I've got a lot of willpower at the moment so only ate 2 small sandwiches and a handful of vegetable crisps - then made a vegan salad of roasted sweet potato and lentils for my friend and I last night (Whilst watching Geordie Shore.. nothing like highbrow television!).

When I work in the office, I tend to buy breakfast from a local health shop down the road, so buy organic porridge with honey and sultanas and am currently at my desk, enjoying a regular sized portion - it really keeps me going until lunch time Smile

Hope everyone is having a good day and it's not raining too heavily where you are!

GBBO15 · 07/01/2016 08:52

Prettybird that mousse sounds amazing!
