I need to lose 3.5 stone - feel so fed up about it I am ignoring the mince pies and Thornton's chocolates! I have lost weight before with a great bunch of ladies on mn. I feel motivated to do the same again and this time keep it off, I went through my wardrobe and found a very stylish tunic I bought in the South of France that I wore once before gaining weight.

Whatever your approach - low carb, Weight Watchers, Slimmers World or healthy eating, all welcome to join me with motivational tips/chat to keep each other going. I find that I don't stick to any plan and eating at meals times/snack on veg and fruit/exercise works for me.

Look forward to chatting with whoever wants to join Smile

Crumb my dcs are 10,5,2 and 1 I also have dss19 and dsd22 who is just about to have a baby so I will be a granny! (I'm 38Hmm!)

I would really like to do some exercise but I haven't done anything for so long I'm nervous, it would also need to be so something I could at home was thinking about the 30 day shred but is it going kill me if I have no fitness level at all?!
Was also wondering about couch to 5k has anyone done it? I. Not sure if it's for me, by only experience of running was cross country at school which I hated!! I could do it in the evening but I'm not sure how motivated I would be going out in the wet, cold and darkConfused

I always get the SW mag for receipes but need to find some quick easy syn free meals

Used to always do for breakie

Fruit and ff yog
SW fry up
B/cereal and a/milk or ff yog and fruit

Any other free options?

Can I ask any SW people if you've stalled on plan? I think I've been really good over Xmas but perhaps not as much veg as usual. Is that the key? Speed food?

Hello all, I'm thinking of joining in as need to lose 4 stone this year. Mostly because I don't like being overweight and recently have had some concerns about my health so want to mitigate that if I can. I'm aiming for a stone every 3 months which for me, I know I can do, and just going to cut down on junk, try to get more exercise in and build up from there. Worried if I throw myself into a diet plan I just won't manage it!
And as well if I feel like I'm part of a group I won't be tempted to say fuck it and go back to my usual habits either Grin

May I join? Also weighed on NYD and - even 1st thing in the morning, butt ass naked - am scarily over 75 kgs. (I think that's over 12.5 st?). Have at least 6 kgs to lose, to get back to my pre pg weight in Sept 14 last year. Would prob like to lose a little more but as I'm 5'9 getting any lower than 68 takes a LOT of work. Will do it by cutting out the rather excessive amount of chocolate and sweets I eat, and getting back to running, I ran London Marathon in Apr 14 and will be doing a Half Marathon in August this year. Am bf DS 7 mo so making time for myself is my issue, any tips on how to just say "feck it, this is ME time" greatly appreciated!

X post Angel as you say I think feeling part of a group will help me! What sort of exercise are you going to work into your routine?

fresh exactly! No one can let us off the hook then Wink. Unfortunately I haven't really made a plan on the exercise front... I'm moving to a different city in the next couple of weeks so between finishing work and organising the move I don't see myself getting to the gym much. I'm going to try for getting 30 mins of exercise in 3-4 times a week in the interim, even if it's just a jog around the block. Then once I'm settled in new place will look to get into a good local gym.
When I DO go to the gym, I tend to do a mixture of cardio and strength training. My usual session is around 50 mins, do 25 mins fairly light cardio and then 25 mins on various weights etc. Cardio has always been a struggle for me so if anyone has any tips on how to improve then please let me know Smile

Buttwing I am signing myself up for a 5K race, it's in March; at the moment it is pouring with rain but luckily we have a treadmill at home. I managed about 10 minutes on it last night. Jillian Micheals 30 day shred is a good one, it's only 20 minutes, but take it easy as it is hard at first.

I used to do yoga. Recently, I have been trying meditating and I find it really helps with not impulsively eating everything in sight (well...it did before December Blush

Can I join please? I've put a stone on since May and I'm so unhappy! I need to lose two stone but would be happy with one. Low carbing for me - am going to low carb and eat between 11 - 7. I'll throw the odd fast day in and get back to the gym spinning three times a week.

I've noticed I'm sleeping poorly, constantly feel pressure on my bladder, reflux, knackered and lathargic, low and in a fog, nothing fits, everything aches, getting thrush all the time, and I'm the fatty in my group of friends. I'm beginning to hate myself and as a middle-aged divorcee mother of 4 with a lovely new boyfriend I really should be taking much better care of myself.

I really wish I could pin point why I do it. Self-sabotage? Emotional eating? Boredom? Procrastination? Probably plain and simple greed.

I notice that my kids aren't greedy. They don't want all the treats that I get in 'for them'. It just doesn't occur to them. I on the other hand, constantly think 'what can I have next?' 'What do I want now?'

I've had coffee and natural love yogurt with blueberries today. I need to fast to lift 'the fog'. I find it really helps lift my energy levels too.

Hello all, I'd love to join if that's ok! My initial goal is to lose 3stone... I lost 19lbs last year in a few months in doing 5:2 and yoga so am back on the wagon and have a goal of looking much much better by my holiday in September!

Totally recommend Yoga with Adriene on YouTube for anyone who wants to start it, she's great :)

Keeps thanks for Yoga tip! I have an ancient video tape that I've used for years, think I need an update. Hmm

Angel exercise tip would be try something different. If you keep doing the same thing your body just stops responding, shake it up with a spin or pump class, do your cardio on the rower or cross trainer rather than bike or treadmill. Just mix it up and you'll also enjoy it more.

Can I join in. I've been losing the same stone (and now a big bit) for 4 years. I did great with pig2twig low carb until we went on holiday and it all went tits up and I thought I could lc and eat chips - silly woman Grin. I tried again with BIWI's BC and lost 10lbs and learnt to cook properly but the dreaded carb creep wine not spuds meant I put a stone back on. I've watched colleagues lose, and regain, on SW so I'm planning to do a combination of both - 2l water/day, good fats, lots of fruit and veg all served on a smaller plate and tonight will be my last glass of wine until skinny DD comes home in mid-feb. I might even dust off my 30 day shred dvd.

I'm going to make a ham and veg soup for work lunches and I'm defrosting chicken thighs to go in the slowcooker for tomorrow night's tea with lots of veg and chopped tomatoes.

I'm cross with myself fresh

I ran London marathon last year and was a bit overweight then. After I did that all running stopped or was sporadic. I've got a half marathon to do in March and then another in April and another in May!! Have only paid for the march one so far tho ( Silverstone half)

I've got to lose weight quick to get the training in so I think low carb is best way for me.

Best weight loss aid I've bought recently is a tv for our bedroom. My room is top floor of a 3 storey townhouse.... Too far to trek down to the fridge for a snack! So I go to bed at 8 ish and stay up there!

I know the Nigella avocado and tomato on toast, really lovely, think it's in Nigella Express.

Noel you've reminded me to drink more water, I do forget about it and have too much tea and coffee.

Hello! Can I join in? I have 12lbs to lose. I had done really well getting back to goal weight after my DC3 was born then she was diagnosed with a severe form of infant epilepsy almost a year ago and it went completely tits up. 2016 is the year I get to refocus on myself a bit. I basically need to stop eating crap, particularly in the evenings. We eat early as a family (6pm) and I need to be busy once the kids are in bed, not collapse in front of the telly with a glass of wine and a tube of Pringles. I also need to address my midriff which still looks about 6 months pregnant by the end of the day even though I'm not that overweight. I have started Mutu (program of exercises to repair diastasis recti and improve core strength) several times, this time I will complete the 12 weeks.
Did anyone read about the sirt foods diet this weekend? I'm not up for the 7 day plan as I'm still BF DD so don't want any drastic drop in weight, but I'm quite tempted to replace one meal with a Sirt green juice and see what happens. www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/magazine/article4647459.ece

Mumontherun, that's genius, evenings are my downfall when DP is here as we both go foraging in the kitchen at 10pm. When he's not here I can't be arsed to get off the sofa so I don't do it. I have banned tech in bed as otherwise he be playing on his iPad when he should be playing with me! However perhaps I will let it slide for a while and get some early nights and watch to on the iPad upstairs to make snacking less of an easy option.

Can I join? Currently have no idea where to begin. I have a ww pass but it seems they've changed the points system again and not sure it's for me. Currently weigh 17 stone and I'm 5 foot 8, I'd like to loose the full 5 1/2 stone I'm overweight by according to bmi but I think I need smaller goals.
Im getting married in September and I think 3 stone by then would make me happy.

I'm giving up fizzy drinks except for weekends to begin with. Hoping to cut them entirely.
