I need to lose 3.5 stone - feel so fed up about it I am ignoring the mince pies and Thornton's chocolates! I have lost weight before with a great bunch of ladies on mn. I feel motivated to do the same again and this time keep it off, I went through my wardrobe and found a very stylish tunic I bought in the South of France that I wore once before gaining weight.

Whatever your approach - low carb, Weight Watchers, Slimmers World or healthy eating, all welcome to join me with motivational tips/chat to keep each other going. I find that I don't stick to any plan and eating at meals times/snack on veg and fruit/exercise works for me.

Look forward to chatting with whoever wants to join Smile

Although I'm only formally starting tomorrow (when ds goes back to school), I weighed myself this morning.

13stone 13lb ShockShockShock

So my target is a 3 stone loss, to get back into the "10 stone somethings"

Belated g'morning all!

Am lurking mostly as not a lot of spare time with 2 kids and removalists coming on Thursday but am enjoying the thread so far, everyone sounds lovely!

So have had a reasonably good 2 days to start, lots of water, not snacking as much as usual, and am using MyFitnessPal for food log. Not counting precisely just trying to make myself pause before stuffing my face! Have added an "exercise" of 500 cal for breastfeeding, and being cautious as too drastic a drop in caloric intake can affect supply and I don't want that.

Looking forward to weighing in, did a sneaky check this morning and I've lost 2.5lb but not sure if that counts, probably just fluid. Will weigh officially on Monday.

Can you add me on too. I need to lose at least 1.5 stone. Doing the 5.2 even though I never seem to lose anything on it. From tmrw I'm restarting my water drinking and walking. I want to buy a fitbit or jawbone bit don't know which to get? Any ideas?

I spoke too soon, did really well all day yesterday and then ate two slices of Christmas cake while cooking dinner.
The remains of the cake has been donated to the work canteen as I have no willpopwer.
I also failed to do the shred this morning so not a great start.
Glad to see others have done better than me. Good luck for the rest of the day, everyone.

Very I have 1/2 of a great big Christmas Cake here too - 2 pieces doesn't sound like a disaster, the rest of the day went well. I think when the whole day goes to pot put it behind you, but you sound on track.

I didn't do the Shred either. I am wondering what Davina's 7 minute workout is like, but planning on doing Shred tomorrow.

Me too, crumb. I have told Dh so now I have to do it.
Also need to get to bed early so I have no excuse.

Yesterday was a disaster- kids still on holiday and finishing up Christmas stuff left right and centre.

Today I'm doing better. Muesli with fruit and yoghurt; cous cous and feta salad. Bean chilli for dinner.

Must. Get. Started. I know that, once I've lost a couple of kilos I'll really want to stick with it. It's getting over that initial hump.

I've downloaded the 7 minute workout which looks good.

Can I join, please? I weighed in this morning at 13st 12.5 (highest ever is 15st 10) and I'm looking to lose 27lbs to get to 12 stone by April 16th, for my wedding. I would like to lose another 28lbs after that, but this is my first target. 15 weeks to go.

I'm calorie counting with the Nutracheck app and I will be hitting the gym as soon as this chest infection clears up.

Day going well - glad I'm not the only one who feels a bit 'Argh' when they look in the mirror. I really like the idea of getting some summer clothes out - I've got the most beautiful Desigual tops and I've not been able to get into them for over 2 years! I really want to wear them again so as soon as I've moved house, I'll put them up in my room.

At the moment, exercise isn't happening due to things needing to be packed and the fact we really don't have any room to put up the running machine / rowing machine. When I'm in the office, I do 4,500 steps a day walking to and from the office (plus commuting steps) so I'm just going to focus doing what I can this month, but really getting going in February once we're moved properly.

My biggest motivation at the moment is the fact I got engaged on Boxing day and really don't want to be a fat bride. I will start the dress shopping in June / July so really want to be a few stone lighter.. even if I'm not at my 'goal weight' (very unlikely). I want to look and feel amazing on my wedding day AND keep it off!

I'm always surprised at how un-hungry I feel - I was totally and utterly stuffing my face for the last few months and now I'm eating much less and healthier and my stomach hasn't grumbled once.

Tonight I'm having another round of salmon with rosemary baby potatoes and steamed veg - tomorrow is a sweet potato, lentil and tomato salad as my vegan friend is coming round Smile

FluffyPersian

Congratulations on your engagement! We got engaged last November, we booked our wedding in May and I'm still stones heavier than I want to be Sad I had so many grand plans and it just didn't work out, I'm only a stone lighter than when I got engaged and my dress still doesn't quite zip with 106 days to go. Gulp!

Thanks Helena - Same to you! Grin

You guys are doing it quick! (I'd love to, but buying a house is mega expensive Sad) so we're looking at August 2017.. so have got a while Smile

A stone is still a stone... in 2 months? (November and December) .. so that's 1/2 a stone a month which is pretty decent going! If you're getting married in May, you could easily do another stone plus more! Grin

Still feeling really motivated despite thinking I look like a fat blobfish! (Think of that photo with blonde hair = me! Wink)

Congrats on the engagement, fluffy, and helena you can definitely lose some weight and tine up before April, I'm sure you'll look amazing.

I don't have anything as exciting as an upcoming wedding to motivate me.

I did get out for a brisk walk at lunchtime so feeling a bit more virtuous.

Congratulations Fluffy

I'd say I've already fallen off the wagon, but that would imply I was on it to begin with. Here's my day so far:

Breakfast (at 6.30am, urgh, I don't do mornings) last table spoon of Christmas pud with cream.
3 biscuits while at work
Lunch- should have been salad but instead a slice of bread toast, a handful of tortilla crisps and a cup of herbal tea.
Supper- chipotle chicken. Will do veg and rice on the side. Hopefully ds and dd1 will try rather than refusing.

Later I will walk to my partner-in-crime's for a brownie planning meeting. Hopefully I will find my will power by then. Can't wait until next week when I can ride my bike to work (weather permitting).

Good afternoon all. Not a great day for me.

I'm having to look at my daytime eating habits I think. Yesterday a customer bought me a 900 cal meal and today the boys had sausage and chips and so I ate a sausage and a cone of chips not to be the odd one out. Blush ( I'm a female plumber so very often the odd one out without pulling out a Tupperware of quinoa)

I need to find away around the fatty daytime dinner. I've thought about it today, and on site for dinner it's always greggs , or chips, pizza, or full English etc. How do men get away with it?!?!?! They're all skinny wraiths! Meanwhile my weight has ballooned year on year since leaving an office!

I failed the shred tooSad turns out the cough I thought I'd shaken is still present if I get out of breath.

Still recognising where I'm going wrong is part of the battle.

B- scrambled eggs (140 cal)
D- sausage and chips (1020 cal)
T- miso soup (160 cal)

I weigh on a Friday so hoping my evening miso will save me the punishment from my lunchtime gorge
