I need to lose 3.5 stone - feel so fed up about it I am ignoring the mince pies and Thornton's chocolates! I have lost weight before with a great bunch of ladies on mn. I feel motivated to do the same again and this time keep it off, I went through my wardrobe and found a very stylish tunic I bought in the South of France that I wore once before gaining weight.

Whatever your approach - low carb, Weight Watchers, Slimmers World or healthy eating, all welcome to join me with motivational tips/chat to keep each other going. I find that I don't stick to any plan and eating at meals times/snack on veg and fruit/exercise works for me.

Look forward to chatting with whoever wants to join Smile

Well 10lb gained over Xmas Confused

So taking my weight loss needed to 38lbs (plus the other 28lbs I think about later)

I'm on slim fast from today - I'm skint and need a fix to shed the weight. Then will switch to low carbing at some point.

I've lost a pound or two by not eating carbs the last day or two. I know it's water retention but I feel so much better for being less bloated (and it's helped my symptoms already).

Just had a count up, 20 of us now on the list, also one not on list makes 21.

that'snot were you laughalot by any chance? Just a wild guess, but my memory is jogged, seems to be laughalot's lots of fun approach!

TheVeryThing Me too, I'm also shredding tomorrow. Is it the first time you've done it.

I'm touched Blondes I might very well go back to being Trimmer, was a good name!

Goodbetter it may be my imagination (I'm on day 4) but I am feeling a bit lighter as well. Great that results can come so quickly.

Hope everyone else is having good day. I had fruit at work, then my lunch at 3pm when I got home, and I am still stuffed - half Sainsbury pack of lentils and red kidney beans, eggs on toast for breakfast. Just pounded my treadmill as well. All good.

I am making home made pizza for tea, I may have a slice with a big salad.

All of you with your shredding and treadmills - i have got to start something soon!

Had to escape the office at 4 for a coffee to save me from the post-holiday snacks! Surely its agreed convention not to bring peanut butter M&Ms back on the 4th Jan?! I'm fine resisting in the morning but come 4pm it's more tricky!

Lunch was a rather random warm pork salad from tesco, but it came in at a surprising 220 cal so ok! think I'm going to have veg soup for dinner, which is rather uninspiring, but does mean that i can have a sliver of Christmas cake without tooooo much guilt Wink

I've had a really good day today.. porridge with honey and sultanas for breakfast, a small salad for lunch, dinner of salmon, loads of steamed veg and baby potatoes.... and a snack of a lunchbox malt loaf and a banana.

Having a shower this evening and taking off my suit, I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and my heart sank at what I saw - I know the only way to do something about it is to change how I eat, however I always, always, always find the start of my healthy eating the hardest as I've not seen any 'positives' and currently I just feel fat and disgusting.

On a positive note however, after 4 days of much more clean / healthy eating, I'm feeling lighter in my mood - I've been really down for a few months and already I'm feeling more positive about things.

I'm such an impatient person, I want to see changes NOW... However I will keep going and going and try not to focus on food and just focus on living a fun and happy life - 27 days until weigh in! Smile

Thanks for adding me to the list and for teaching me to copy & paste.
Salacious - I don't think Laughalot would have been my nickname. It sounds too cheerful!
Fluffy - you will see results soon. Take a good look at your body & you'll begin to notice indentations where (at least if you're me) there is a continuous roll/curve at the moment.
Another good day here:
B - 2x Weet a box and half a banana
L - friends & their DC for lunch so i made cottage pie & apple crumble. I had a massive portion of cottage pie but, as i was serving it out, managed to do some good pie mining so i had much more filling than mash. Both of my DC love crumble topping so i gave them mine and just ate the stewed fruit.
Snacks - other half of the banana and a tiny home made biscotti tiny as the normal sized ones have been eaten by me over Christmas and are a definite contributing factor to the size of my arse
Exercise - 30 day shred. It really hurt today. Not sure I'll actually be able to move tomorrow which is a problem as I have to go to work, the supermarket and then go for a run!

I just came back to add that I am really glad that I started this on Saturday and not today as originally planned as I had horrific wind for the first 48 hours which wouldn't have been pleasant for my colleagues. DH and the DC just had to grin & bear it (or, in the case of toddler DS, chuckle manically).
Just caught sight of myself in the mirror. I have a muffin top in my PJs! FFS! Losing this stone should sort out the back waist fat at least even if I still have a bit of a mum tum.

Can I join you too? I'm on my phone so not able to add myself to the list. Got on the scales today and realised I've put on about 12kg in 3-4 months Blush

It all needs to come off!! It is around 26lbs that I need to lose. Doing it through general healthy eating, reducing snacks and increasing exercise. I have done MFP in the past, and 5:2, and SW, all worked but then it all went back on again and then some. 5:2 was great for weight loss for me but played havoc with my mood (I suffer chronically with depression and it made it worse) . Hoping that by not sticking to a 'plan' will make it more sustainable long term. Smile

Morning all! Fast Day here so starting the morning off with a coffee, one of our toddler groups starts back today and I have work to do during nap time so hopefully will be nice and busy and not find it too hard!

Day 3 of YogaCamp was mostly nice and relaxing and I'm not yet sore enough to quit like I normally do so I'm pleased about that :)

Its nice to see what you're all eating and punch ideas! I've been having porridge (a pre-measured Oat So Simple sachet) with blueberries/strawberries/banana each morning, lunch yesterday was scrambled eggs and baked beans(!), and dinner was a sausage and lentil one-pot thing. I got this water bottle called a "Hydrate m8" that tells you if you've drunk enough and its really pushing me to drink enough water, I do recommend it :)

Anyone feeling down, remember you're already doing it - you're making positive changes, you should already be proud of yourselves! :)

Can I join in? I'm really pants at this, I tell myself I must be sensible, and straight away crave anything! However over the last year I've put on nearly 2st, most of it from the autumn and Christmas. Currently 10st 13lb, would like to return to 9st 4lb, but at 5'2"- just, under 9 would be ideal.

My period is due, and I'm foul. Not helped that my cervix is still tender from the procedure 2 weeks ago. So need encouragement to not stuff my face with chocolate right now.

Can't stand the pre-period angst InFlagrante, and i always forget why I've turned into an angrier version of a trash compactor until it arrives and i go 'oh, shit yeah'. Not like it's been monthly for 10 years or anything...!

i know what you mean Fluffy, i was looking in the mirror today thinking 'can i see a change? ' (No, no i can't! Its been one day!)

By the time i got home yesterday, DH had cooked, so no manky veg soup for dinner

L: pulled pork salad (Tesco) (220 c)
D: small portion chicken + peppers in cream sauce, broccoli (~350 c)
1/2 piece xmas cake, 1/4 piece cheesecake (~400)

Not too bad, and at least I've finished the xmas cake now!

Morning everyone, can I join please? I joined slimming world yesterday and was horrified at how much I weigh! I've been blaming it on baby weight but she's 17.5 months now so I can't use that excuse any more. I have 4st, 3lb to lose to get to target although I may want to lose another 7lb dependent on how I feel when I hit my target.

It's going to be a long, depressing road but it needs to be done.

Today I'm having:

B - fruit and natural yoghurt
L - jacket potato, tuna and salad
D - omelette with as much veg put in as possible.

I'll be snacking on fruit, drinking tea and water and I will have a curly wurly tonight as a treat.

My exercise for today will be dragging/chasing the toddler around Costco and cleaning the house from top to bottom now that the older kids have gone back to school - yay!

Morning Pistey don't mind if I do Brew you Ok?

Not sure I feel like butt kicking with Jillian Michaels this morning!

My dd is back at school today - she has a 'virus' according to the doctor, feels sick on and off and has been since mid December. The sickness goes off, then comes back. Don't know what causing it, bit odd. Dropped her off she's a bit tearful, but had a week off before Christmas feeling very sick.

I did a personal training course a little while ago (didn't keep it up Blush have 10 minutes burst routines of press ups and stuff, will do that and treadmill.

That'sNot My wind problem has improved I think - although my ds has a burp problem. He burps on demand! Should have grown out of it by age 13!

Welcome Wavesofthesea I found 5:2 too difficult, got results for about 2 weeks. Completely agree about finding something sustainable long term.

Fluffy I am clearing out my wardrobe and will put into view my jeans and summer tops, very motivating. It's great that you are feeling results, you will see bit by bit more results iyswim.

Inflagrante Welcome, I identify with what you're saying about hormones, I'm sure it's why my patience level is sometimes low (dh would agree..!) stick with us and we'll get there.

I don't work Tuesdays so I'm happy about that, house a tip, after I've sorted that I will do exercise then collapse and read Vivienne Westwood's biography - didn't expect to find it so interesting, bringing back all the memories of the days of punk! Didn't go so much on the spitting though. Ugh.

Have a good day all.
