I need to lose 3.5 stone - feel so fed up about it I am ignoring the mince pies and Thornton's chocolates! I have lost weight before with a great bunch of ladies on mn. I feel motivated to do the same again and this time keep it off, I went through my wardrobe and found a very stylish tunic I bought in the South of France that I wore once before gaining weight.

Whatever your approach - low carb, Weight Watchers, Slimmers World or healthy eating, all welcome to join me with motivational tips/chat to keep each other going. I find that I don't stick to any plan and eating at meals times/snack on veg and fruit/exercise works for me.

Look forward to chatting with whoever wants to join Smile

Well done to all the STS crew, at least none of you have gained so that's a bonus.

downstairs I am doing 5:2. Only eating 500 cals for 2 days a week and normally the other 5. Although this week im trying 4:3 hence the back to back fast days. Im not willing to be good on the weekend. For what its worth i did this diet in 2014 and lost 16lbs in 6 weeks. But it was summer time and my non fast days were better as i wasnt freezing to death. On the exercise front i used to do metafit (hardcore hiit class) on the Fast days and was fine. i might have had a sneaky bit of peanut butter on toast straight after. Regardless of the peculiar weight regain i have still lost 6lbs in 6 weeks this time and i have been very naughty on the non fast days, so it seems to work for me. I hate restrictions or rules so only being good twice a week os good for my mental health!

FluffyPersian · 27/01/2016 15:47

I think STS is pretty good, especially if you’ve been eating a lot of stuff!.. and if you measure an inch less (well done BringonSummer) that’s pretty awesome, too!

I’m still plodding along at the moment – Am seeing an old work colleague tonight at a Thai restaurant and my anxiety is quite high as I really want to get a good number on the scales on Sunday, but don’t want to become a recluse and need to continue to eat ‘normally’ as opposed to be so black and white on what’s ‘good’ for me and ‘bad’ for me.

Will Google the best healthy dishes to eat in the restaurant and then keep on plodding on until Sunday Grin

GettinTrimmer · 27/01/2016 16:06

I was thinking of you Fluffy, I thought you weighed in today. I am sure you will be rewarded on the scales. Eating 'normally' is the tricky one, I am so fed up with having lost weight/gained/lost, I conclude that my normal has been up the creek somewhere.

downstairs trainers have arrived. They fit well 1/2 size bigger, and they feel like they will protect my feet. I was waiting for dd at the end of the road and saw the Amazon van just leaving, I belted down the road and flagged him down! They were with neighbour anyway, but so pleased they are here Smile

Bringon and Piste STS is good too, it is not in the wrong direction.

I'm just off to pound treadmill, in my new Oasics Gel Black/pistacio/magenta trainers!

GettinTrimmer · 27/01/2016 16:10

I also need a new sports bra, but I am loathe to invest very much as hoping the damn things will reduced by x3 cup sizes! My sports bra is knackered and not fit for purpose Hmm

FluffyPersian · 27/01/2016 16:37

Nah GettinTrimmer – 31st Jan.. End of the month! Smile so a few more days to go….

Then I think it will be 14th Feb and the end of Feb!

I have no idea what my ‘normal’ weight is… I think the lowest I’ve been is 11.5 stone and that was when I was a size 12, which would suit me really, really well… However I’ve got a loooooong way to go to get there!

I’m really motivated at the moment though, so I hope I’ll do it this year – Just like I’m sure you will this time around! Grin

Plan for tonight: No starter, steamed fish and boiled rice… No spring rolls and no coconut curries…

Fairenuff · 27/01/2016 18:04

Hi everyone, I've been following this thread for a while and wondering if I could join. So far this month I've lost 13lbs and I aim to keep going. I've been doing dry January too which has helped and am also going to do Lent. Hoping to lose a stone by the end of this month.

ThatsNotMyHouseItIsTooClean · 27/01/2016 22:31

Well done to those STS'ers. Pistey sounds as though you need to get back on your gin diet!
Fluffy does the restaurant you're going to have a calorie menu online? If not,I'd suggest a noodle/soupy thing...not that I ever order those as I just slop it everywhere.
Fair welcome! Sounds as though you have had a brilliant start to your weight loss.
DC are better but can't go back to school/nursery until Friday. It is odd having them home during the week, especially as I feel we should be housebound as we're still in the 48 hour period. We have played a lot of board games etc. It has been rather nice.
My food is all over the place. I ate a lot of biscuits and a Toblerone last night having had fruit loaf for supper. Today has featured a few biscuits . I did put my running gear on & made it to the end of the road but had found that a real struggle so came home again. I don't think I even ran 50th!

ThatsNotMyHouseItIsTooClean · 27/01/2016 22:32

That should have said 500m!

My long term goal is to lose at least another 25 lbs, hopefully by the summer, but we will see!

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/01/2016 13:52

Welcome ethel stick with us and the 25lb will be gone by the summer

Fairenuff welcome 13lb is a great loss so far this month.

downstairs I agree good idea to reset, exhausting looking after a toddler. I have a teenager and not far off teenager, much moodiness and being difficult this evening.

I weigh in tomorrow as well. Hoping for good news on the scales. It's dd's birthday on Sunday, I will have 11 kids for lunch after hopefully they have worn themselves out on an indoor trampolining place. I have to plan how to avoid all that party food with the inevitable left overs! Will have a generous later breakfast so I am full or I will dive into the crisps, cheesy sausage rolls and pizza.

Bringonsummer · 28/01/2016 21:11

Welcom ethel and fairenuff.

Good luck on the new regime downstairs. Good luck on the wi tomorrow trimmer.

I had another successful fast day, although limited it to 24 hours this time and snuck in a couple of vodka and slimline tonics Smile. Still 800 cals - not bad.

ThatsNotMyHouseItIsTooClean · 28/01/2016 21:24

Earlier today I put one of Gettin's tips from 5yrs ago into practice & squirted washing up liquid all over the leftovers of DD's pizza to save myself from eating it.
Today, I did the 30DS & ate a pear, an orange, a Glorious soup, a slice of bread with philadelphia... am some other things that I can't remember! I'm supposed to be on the exercise bike but am knackered & can't be bothered.
I usually WI on a Sat but have always planned on weighing in tomorrow as I'm out tomorrow night. I want to have lost another lb but that's unlikely!

bowbear · 28/01/2016 22:16

Evening everyone, I've had my head in the sand all week! Have avoided this thread like the plague as I have completely lost focus and have slipped back into all the bad habits - where is that determination I had three weeks ago?? Feeling thoroughly pathetic!! I will get on those scales in the morning and face the music.....maybe it will spur me on to get a bloody grip, argh!!!

I hope everyone else is in a better place and shedding those pounds.x

GettinTrimmer · 29/01/2016 06:41

I remember the fairy liquid suggestion (I got it from Rosemary Conley!). All about breaking habits, according to something I read it takes 6 weeks to make a habit and a lot longer to break it, and easily reactivated! But we can do it. Hoovering up dc's left overs is one.

Anyway...just weighed in and STS. I won't sulk as since 1st Jan I have lost 10lb.

Going the way of Fluffy and weighing in once per month as I suspect the weight loss will slow right down now, and I am thinking of how to make more small changes.

Giving up sugary cappuccinos from the machine at work. Cutting down on bread/rice/pasta. I have done this losing, gaining, losing game before and I've had enough, no more diets.

I am just off to do a Davina DVD before dc get up, ds has an inset day so he doesn't have to leave at 7.40am to get bus, a bit of time to myself before a long day at work.

Have a good day all, and good luck to other Friday weighers Smile

JustABigBearAlan · 29/01/2016 07:32

My weigh in day and I appear to have lost 2lbs! Really pleased as earlier in the week when I jumped on the scales for a quick check, it looked like I wasn't going to lose anything this week. I feel I've been eating more too - bit weird how it works.

Bringonsummer I can't believe you can do 2 fast days in a row! Sounds v hardcore!

MABS · 29/01/2016 08:21

Yes I joined the gym! but from 1 Feb so will start after w/e ;-)

ThatsNotMyHouseItIsTooClean · 29/01/2016 08:43

Evil scales! I have put on a lb. That reduces my four week weight loss to 5lbs when I had hoped for 7lbs. It does serve as a timely reminder that I must stick to the exercise. And not eat junk when the DC are ill. Hmm....less of a surprise that I have gained a lb when I think of the rubbish I ate earlier in the week.

GBBO15 · 29/01/2016 10:10

Lost 1.5lb! But suspicious of this actually as did sneaky check yesterday and had STS but it's on the scales today so I'll take it Smile

Well done Trimmer, 10lb in a month!!!
And 5lb a month is really good too Thatsnot- just think where you'll be by summer.

Have a good weekend everyone
