I need to lose 3.5 stone - feel so fed up about it I am ignoring the mince pies and Thornton's chocolates! I have lost weight before with a great bunch of ladies on mn. I feel motivated to do the same again and this time keep it off, I went through my wardrobe and found a very stylish tunic I bought in the South of France that I wore once before gaining weight.

Whatever your approach - low carb, Weight Watchers, Slimmers World or healthy eating, all welcome to join me with motivational tips/chat to keep each other going. I find that I don't stick to any plan and eating at meals times/snack on veg and fruit/exercise works for me.

Look forward to chatting with whoever wants to join Smile

Well done on all the weight losses! Such a positive thread!

I've not fallen off the wagon, just not posted in a week. Still going strong and whilst I haven't weighed, I'm shrinking. My chin is so much more visible after such a short time - it's really motivating to see positive changesSmile

I'm going away this weekend for a boozy thirtieth, not sure whether to try to keep mfp calorie counting with difficulty or to just write off the next two days and continue on Sunday as though nothing happened. It'll be difficult to count and to control my calories and if I try it has the potential to make me so depressed I spiral.

Today: lunch: chilli and chips ( homemade and calorie counted on mfp)
Tea: miso soup with veg and noodles

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/01/2016 19:54

Summer. Well done

And yes Alan R was lovely. Very soothing voice :)

Kim82 · 14/01/2016 20:23

Well done on the losses ladies. I made the mistake of weighing myself this morning and haven't lost anything since weigh in on Monday. It's a bit depressing but never mind.

Today's menu was:

B - shreddies
L - packet of fridge raiders (2 syns), fruit salad and fat free yoghurt and weight watchers crisps
D - ham, tomato, mushroom and spinach omelette

I was proud of my willpower earlier, everyone else in the house had McDonalds for dinner and I (very sulkily) had my omelette.

ThatsNotMyHouseItIsTooClean · 14/01/2016 20:57

I've had an odd 24 hours. I tried doing the 30 day shred last night & could scarcely get through the warm up so tried the exercise bike instead & couldn't manage that either so gave up. Had supper (butternut squash, feta & avocado salad) & felt really cold & shivery an hour later and fell asleep on the sofa. I felt OK today but after lunch I let DS watch some CBeebies whilst I did some chores and sat down for a couple of minutes & had another nap! DS couldn't believe his luck! I felt OK afterwards but am now feeling odd again and am just off to bed.
I was obviously feeling in need of warming comfort food in the supermarket today as I came home with crumpets, muffins and fruit loaf, all of which I've managed to resist eating. I did have a hot chocolate made with skimmed milk.

FluffyPersian · 14/01/2016 21:09

Glad the exam went well Error Smile

Tortoiseonthehalfshell Thanks for the compliment... Not sure about being wise, but I can mostly do humour! Wink

Not a bad day yesterday and today - Yesterday, I did buy a very small dark chocolate and seat salt bar from PretAManger - less than 150 calories and 10g of fat so hardly a massive lardy curry, however I felt guilty and struggled for 'being bad', when actually.. I imagine I didn't even hit 1,500 calories (I don't calorie count as I'm too lazy usually).

Then my mind went into overdrive.. 'I'm not going to lose any weight if I eat chocolate' and 'I bet I've not lost any weight yet'... However at the moment those destructive thoughts have settled and last night I had more sweet potato and cauliflower soup and tonight I actually made an absolutely love thai fish dish from the BBC Good Food website.

www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1031/thaistyle-steamed-fish

Turned out incredibly well - I chucked some lemon grass in as well and had it with jasmine rice Smile .. Got the same tomorrow night as well!

good luck with everyone else wi today. Next week, I'm planning on increasing the exercise, I am yet to brave the 30 day Shred, but did an old Davina dvd yesterday from 2010.

Fluffy love your recipes.

I work a long day on Fridays so look forward to catching up with you all laters.

bowbear · 15/01/2016 07:31

Good Morning all, congrats on the loss Trimmer, that's fantastic!

I've stayed the same this week (I think I have the mini stollen bites to thank for that!) oh well at least it's not a gain. Long day at work for me too, hoping for great results for you all.

Morning Friday Brew

Well done Losers!!

Glad the exam went well Error

Step away from the scales Kim that way madness lies.

I'm the same weight as I was on my Wednesday weigh in and would like a shift so fingers crossed!

Got my chum Knots coming for a sleepover on Sat and we do tend to go bonkers on the booze, so I will probably put on 20 stone over the weekend. Grin

Going to look at Thai fish recipe!

Have a good day y'all

GBBO15 · 15/01/2016 08:57

Loss of 0.7lb. But I'm happy enough with that, don't really want a rapid loss with the breastfeeding. As long as the numbers are going down that's good.

It's my birthday this weekend though so hopefully won't put on 10lb! DH has been warned not to buy me any chocolate which is my biggest downfall.

Well done all who lost this week Smile

Congrats on the losses, Bring and Gettin! I have managed to lose.....

.......nothing. Instead, I have gained 0.6lb. Arse.

I know exactly why; it's a mixture of relaxing my guard after losing more than I expected last week, and dealing with chickenpox-and-exam-related tiredness and stress. It's OK, I've still lost nearly a pound and a half in two weeks, so I haven't undone all my good work. Also, I've lost 1/2" on my waist Smile

Fluffy, there is no such thing as a bad food, only a bad diet. Having a bit of chocolate now and then is one of life's little pleasures, and is only a problem when it becomes a staple part of your diet.

Error404usernamenotfound · 15/01/2016 09:39

Congrats to GBBO and Downstairs too; sorry, I started writing my post about an hour ago, then my laptop went haywire...

Have updated thread with mine and GBBO's results. Downstairs, you're not on the thread; would you like to add yourself? I don't know what your goal weight loss is, or I'd add you myself.

Kim82 · 15/01/2016 11:34

Well done on the losses again everyone and boo to the tiny gain for you Error.

I feel like crap today so had already eaten all my syns by 9.30pm Blush. I would give anything for a McDonalds or a pizza right now.

helenahandbag · 15/01/2016 11:57

Hi everyone, I promise I'm still here, I'm just being very quiet. I'm still on plan, still exercising but I don't have any weight loss to report. TOTM arrived today even though I'm on the depo so that will explain why I'm so bloated and (sorry!) constipated. I haven't been to the loo in almost a week so that can't help.

I did a comparison photo as I happened to be wearing the same outfit as I wore a few weeks ago and I can definitely see a difference in my face and waist. I also noticed my collarbones poking out a few nights ago and it has been a good two years since I've seen those.

Kim82 · 15/01/2016 12:05

Shit, I've just had a binge. I ate toast with loads of butter, 3 packets of crisps and 2 Freddo's. I feel guilty now.

LovelyFriend · 15/01/2016 12:11

helenahandbag try some of that SlimTee from the health food shop, which has senna in it and sorts you out overnight :)

I'm plodding on nicely. Won't weight again until Monday. I'm adamant this time that I am not on a diet, I'm making permanent lifestyle changes. So I am focusing on making the actual changes I can live with - which largely involving eating less and mindful eating - rather than worry about what I'm eating on a day to day basis.

As someone who has lost weight many times since I was a teenager (SW, WW, MFP the works), only to gain it all back and then some, I know all too well diets are only temporary fixes, and permanent change is what I need.

MABS · 15/01/2016 12:18

sorry for silence, crappy chest infection :(

helenahandbag · 15/01/2016 12:25

Sorry to hear that Mabs, I was struck down with it over New Year and it was grim.

I've got some night time slim tea somewhere LovelyFriend, I think mine is Skinny Mint Tea. I've also got some skinny tea from Marks and Spencer (bought in Paris, oddly!).

I'm just going to have a tuna salad for dinner to try and make up for it I think. If the rain holds off I'm going to take the kids for a walk to the park too to try and get a bit of exercise in. I can't believe I've done it. Oh well, onwards and upwards. I'll behave again from now on.
