I need to lose 3.5 stone - feel so fed up about it I am ignoring the mince pies and Thornton's chocolates! I have lost weight before with a great bunch of ladies on mn. I feel motivated to do the same again and this time keep it off, I went through my wardrobe and found a very stylish tunic I bought in the South of France that I wore once before gaining weight.

Whatever your approach - low carb, Weight Watchers, Slimmers World or healthy eating, all welcome to join me with motivational tips/chat to keep each other going. I find that I don't stick to any plan and eating at meals times/snack on veg and fruit/exercise works for me.

Look forward to chatting with whoever wants to join Smile

Newbies add yourself to list

Oh HELENA :( passes Calorie free food over

Maybe do a poo. That can shift a lb or two

Plus make sure you wi at same time and same clothes - different trumpets can make a huge difference to weight loss

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/01/2016 14:18

Trousers not trumpets

B eggs and fruit
L SW shepherds pie and veg
T pasta and veg and fruit

I hope to lose a lb Friday but I will also take into consideration of my yummy afternoon tea on Sunday

Drools at scones cream jam cake

Hi everyone, god this thread moves bloody fast! Well done to everyone who has lost weight, welcome to the newbies and commiserations to those who haven't lost. I'm sure we'll all have weeks like that, keep at it, you're doing all the right things by the sound of it!

I've been run off my feet today with errands and housework so have just sat down with a brew, a toddler to cuddle and to catch up on here for a bit. I'm still managing to stick to my planned meals which I'm surprised at, I usually get cravings for all sorts of crap and give in to them because I'm weak!

Today's menu is:

B - banana pancake with berries
L - ham salad sandwich, packet of crisps (3 syns)
D - chicken wrapped in Parma ham, SW chips and lots of veg

I'm feeling peckish at the moment so might go grab a banana and save my chocolate for tonight.

Yes, 2-3L a day! I'm on the depo so don't get TOTM, though I have been bloated and (sorry) constipated so that can't help. I'm just going to keep going the way I've been going and trust that something has to happen.

TheVeryThing · 13/01/2016 15:03

helena that's all you can do, it will definitely start to pay off at some point.
I realise that you feel under pressure because of the wedding but you can't do anymore, I think. Upping your fibre might help?

helenahandbag · 13/01/2016 15:22

I suffer with chronic constipation - have done my whole life - and too much fibre sends my digestion haywire Sad

I try to keep things moving by eating plenty of healthy fat, drinking water and making sure I keep moving as much as possible.

GettinTrimmer · 13/01/2016 16:13

I'm loving your predictive text Blondes!

Welcome dynevoran well done on your 8lb loss.

Pistey Great South Run is either 10 miles or 10K, I have just signed myself up for a 5K. I think Knotty lives near me, if she's who I think she is on fb. The abseiling challenge sounds scary my dh once did a bungy jump for charity.

Helena my mum has always suffered from constipation, I know she eats brocolli stems, I'm not sure she avoids any food in particular. I'm sure you would have lost fat. Running speeds up the digestion with me I think

I'm off for a run in a bit That'sNot do you find you have to time your runs well or you end up with an urgent call of nature Blush

I plan my meals for the week, I have sausage and mash for this evening, just a small portion of mash for me, and I would like to make That'sNot's veg tagine. No runny honey though.

Error glad you got something sorted for your exam. The timings never right with kids, my dd was poorly over Christmas.

Hope the exam went ok Error

Pistey DDs in Japan for her year abroad. She was going travelling between semesters but the honeymoon period's well and truly over so she's coming home to sleep in a comfy bed and see her dog Grin

I had made a healthy bolognese for tonight but came home to a cheque for all of XHs maintenance arrears (he owed a lot) so I'm sorry I'm having lasagne and wine. I bet it pained him to write that cheque but even if I don't get another penny I don't have to worry about DDs accommodation for the rest of her degree Grin

GBBO15 · 13/01/2016 18:29

error hope exam went well!

TheVeryThing · 13/01/2016 22:16

That sounds rough Helena, hope you feel better soon.
Thanks downstairs, well done on staying on track despite a stressful day.
That was definitely worth celebrating, GBB, sod the healthy eating for one evening.

bowbear · 13/01/2016 22:56

I can't keep up with this thread!! Hope everyone is well and the losses are continuing. My week was going great until I discovered a packet of Stollen Bites that I'd forgotten to open at Christmas. I've managed to polish off half the pack - will have to be extra good tomorrow ahead of Friday weigh in!!!

So much for no more mindless eating....argh!!!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 13/01/2016 23:51

I am so hungry my stomach lining IS STICKING TOGETHER

RatherBeOnThePiste · 13/01/2016 23:57

Evening all chums, old and new Wine

How as the exam Error?

Oh happy homecoming days skinny My bro lives in japan on a permanent basis, his wife is Japanese, and my nephews are 11. Means we get to go there though and we love it, so not all bad them being away.

Knots is who you think she is I think Trim Grin

Helena think you've answered it - bloating and constipation, hope you feel better soon.

Waves to evvvvvvveryone, and goes off in search of something low calorie but filling

I should be asleep ffs!

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/01/2016 06:05

Morning all

Anyone wi today?

RatherBeOnThePiste · 14/01/2016 06:31

Morning, have weighed but not weighing in Brew

prettybird · 14/01/2016 09:10

Ditto Pistey wish the figure was as good as it was yesterday and keeping my fingers crossed for it to revert for tomorrow's weigh in Wink

One thing I've noticed (and I think there is a medical reason related to the pituitary gland?) is that my weight is always higher on the mornings I've gone to bed late. So my objective tonight is to go to bed nice and early! Grin

Error404usernamenotfound · 14/01/2016 10:01

Morning all!

Thank you for the good luck wishes for yesterday; I think the exam went OK, although it's always hard to tell.

DD feeling a bit poorly now, bless her; thank god for calpol and itch relief gel!

Helena, I hope things 'get moving' soon Smile

TheVeryThing · 14/01/2016 10:30

'Morning everyone, glad the exam went ok error, hope your dd feels better soon.
Got up early to do the shred and I have to say it gives me much more energy in the mornings so hope I can remember that at 6 am tomorrow.

Tortoiseonthehalfshell · 14/01/2016 11:38

FluffyPersian you're not remotely boring. I loved your post upthread about concentrating on the non-scale victories. Especially about trying on clothes and not having to worry that this is the last time they'll fit. I really related to that; over the past few months, even the most forgiving and flattering things were starting to feel taut across the belly. So yes, losing that dread is worth it on its own! Post more wise things please!

I've been doing a good job of exercising regularly, which I'm pretty proud of. I've mapped myself out a circuit which is about 3.5 miles, started off by walking it, and I'm trying to run more of it each time I go. The fitbit is doing a good job of trying to get me to eat more - I know that sounds like a silly problem to have, but when I diet I get too restrictive, so I'm really making an effort to eat sustainably. I'm still under target most of the time (I come in around 1500 cals usually, and I'm burning 2000) so I had a deliberate blow out day today just to remind myself it wasn't the end of the world! But I weighed in first, and I'm down another 2lb.

Downstairs wi every 2 weeks if that keeps you on track

B omelette and grapes
L SW shepherds pie and veg

Bringonsummer · 14/01/2016 16:30

There maybe a medical reason prettybird, but i would say i weighed more if i have a late night due to the extra hours of being able to stuff my face. This would be followed by more face stuffing to get over the tiredness because of the late night. The solution for me maybe to stay in bed all day and night hibernating. Perhaps this could be my new form of diet? Grin

But that aside, i am proud to declare 3lbs down after somewhat disasterous fast day (admittedly i havent been anywhere near the scales for 2 weeks which may have helped)

I had a satsuma

I didn't really help

So I went to bed.

Mad busy day here today and not really had a chance to eat properly, got some fish coming soon, spinach, veggies, and I am so ready for it.

Such sad news about Alan Rickman isn't it? We have loved him here since forever, and now our kids love him as Snape, us too. DH once sat next to him on a flight back from LA, and he was DESPERATE to get his autograph for DD, but you just can't, not in that environment, not fair. So we just have to enjoy the story of how he once sat next to him!
