I need to lose 3.5 stone - feel so fed up about it I am ignoring the mince pies and Thornton's chocolates! I have lost weight before with a great bunch of ladies on mn. I feel motivated to do the same again and this time keep it off, I went through my wardrobe and found a very stylish tunic I bought in the South of France that I wore once before gaining weight.

Whatever your approach - low carb, Weight Watchers, Slimmers World or healthy eating, all welcome to join me with motivational tips/chat to keep each other going. I find that I don't stick to any plan and eating at meals times/snack on veg and fruit/exercise works for me.

Look forward to chatting with whoever wants to join Smile

Lost 5lb this week even though it's been a really difficult week and I've had a permanent headache since Sunday night. I've updated the list.

Fluffy hope you are feeling better.

I'm worried about my salt intake I don't have loads but seen to have more than others. Any tips on how I can curb this? I haven't started my walking yet as I've had headaches but happy with my first week and going to start exercise next week. I don't expect to lose much next week as I tend to hardly lose anything on 5 2 but I've got my fingers crossed for a loss.

GBBO15 · 09/01/2016 10:11

Well done Clean!

The baby slept brilliantly for the first time in over a month! I feel amazing Grin
Feeling so much more motivated with having lost a bit this week and with hearing everyone's stories on the thread. Here's to a healthy(ish) weekend.....

cleanmachine · 09/01/2016 10:36

Thanks GBBO. I've just bought a fitbit flex on amazon at 34.00 which is a good price. I'm looking forward to walking more as it really lifts my mood.

ThatsNotMyHouseItIsTooClean · 09/01/2016 10:43

3lb loss here.
I am feeling ravenous today but am determined to have a healthy weekend. Pondering after Blondes & Pistey's threads a few weeks, I realised that, when I lost weight last year doing 4:3 (more extreme version of 5:2) I was losing 2lbs Mon - Sat but always put a lb on Sat - Mon. Some of that lb will have been from not being empty after a fast day but the rest will be overeating at the weekend. If I gain weight every weekend then I am never going to be able to maintain.

PartyCityGhoul · 09/01/2016 11:16

Morning all! Happy Saturday (this was a a long week!) How is everyone doing?

Glad to hear the baby slept GBBO!

I do the exact same ThatsNot - week is fine, weekend is fucked. I try to keep to 1000 a day in the week (been a bit soft thsi week!!) but end up too much at weekends

Yesterday was pretty awful - pub at lunch, panic lunch choice and dinner out. today is going badly already, just eaten a pack of fudge in bed Blush

2x gin and tonic 240 c
lunch - pret duck wrap 450 c
dinner - korean food (+ice cream) 850 c

Sat
Blush 125g ish fudge - 500 cal Shock wish I'd read that before i ate the damn things!!

Just going to have to be very sensible today and hope i can recover! I've already had my treat!

prettybird · 09/01/2016 11:37

Party - have lots of water to help you feel full.

MABS · 09/01/2016 12:23

well done to you all!

Yes I have joined the gym again, but has great spa attached to it so i can reward myself after a workout. And yes i will probably get a PT too :( am soooo lazy.

So shoot me now!! yesterday a bottle of fizz, a curry and a packet of Percy Pig sweets from Marks :(

Kim82 · 09/01/2016 12:25

Good afternoon everyone. Well done on the losses, I can only hope mine is as good as yours when it comes to WI on Monday!

I was proud of myself last night as I kept to my plan and didn't eat loads of crap whilst dh was out.

Today's meals are:

B - 2 weetabix with strawberries
L - bacon, egg, mushrooms, grilled tomatoes and baked beans
D - syn free pasta bolognese

Snacks - fruit and far free natural yoghurt, maybe a freddo or curly wurly tonight in front of the TV.

I have my niece's birthday party to her through today though so will have to resist all the tummy food..

Have adjusted myself on list slightly, have put interim goal down of 30lb which I hope to lose by 1st July.

GB pleased for you that baby slept well, big sigh of relief when they start doing that. Was she teething?

Clean well done on 5lb loss. Not sure about salt intake - processed foods are laden with them, do you add salt to cooking?

MABS Am planning on big glass of fizz (only one!!) in front of The Voice this evening. Easily done, I love prosecco. there's a bottle of it left over from Christmas, I'm buying myself a small bottle from Tesco in a bit.

Kim/Blondes even though I am not doing sw, only rule I have is eating at meals times, seems to be working out more or less the same. Seems to be going well for both of you.

Pretty - I seem to remember you go running?

Went for run today, quite surprised myself got round my route of about mile and half, then did Davina 15 min workout with dd. Enjoy rest of Saturday Smile

GettinTrimmer · 09/01/2016 13:41

helena I have tentatively returning to spinning now and again (RPM) these days, luckily the bikes are more robust now - Blondes/Pretty/pistey and chums from our previous thread may remember - went once a few years ago and the bike collapsed under me Shock luckily only a few scratches.

Used to have an instructor who said maximum no. 10 -sick on the floor!

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/01/2016 15:17

Well done clean machine and that's not on loss

Kim sure you will lose weight - menus looks good

Trimmer. Yes I rem that incident .....

Also had 1st bday party to go to today. I was very good on food. 2 sandwiches and one nugget and small bit of cake

Tomorrow gone be harder and will just write it off as taking friend for 40th bday lunch cream tea and bubbles

Will be v good mon to thur and hope that I will lose a lb next week

Notsoskinnyminny · 09/01/2016 16:08

3.25 off for me since Monday and another .75 since yesterday's official Friday weigh in. I'm another one who messes up at the weekend but I was very good last night and didn't have any booze which means I didn't come down to empty crisp packets this morning Blush

Meals have been planned for next week using leftovers in the garage freezer. Tonight we're having a mystery grill made up of lonely pork chops and random bits of meat Grin

RatherBeOnThePiste · 09/01/2016 17:41

You see I fancy spinning, then I read this and I change my mind. Grin

Proper good gym session today - 5K, plus rowing machine and bike. Felt like my halo was gleaming.

But now we have a party that no one wants to go to, I had a bath after the gym because I often get this horrid cold rush after exercise, and I just can't get warm, but I made the mistake of putting on my jams after.

Now it is wet and windy and everyone wants to stay home. DH is jet lagged, poor sossige. But we can't. Arse buckets. But I have been good re food, so have saved calories for some drinks later. MFP only gives me 1200, but I can earn around 450 through going to the gym.

Fabulous losses, good news re the gym, the sleepy baby, the fizz, the lonely pork chops and the Percies. Grin

Have a good evening all Wine

Kim82 · 09/01/2016 17:47

I have willpower of steel! I went to my niece's birthday party and didn't eat a thing! I just had a cup of tea and a can of diet coke. I'll just go polish my halo...

I'm now stuffed after my tea and haven't actually eaten any syns at all today. That leaves me with 15 just for tonight. I may celebrate with chocolate.

helenahandbag · 09/01/2016 18:44

GettinTrimmer

This instructor had us start the warm up on level 10, and at one point had us doing 110rpm on level 17 Shock

I did some yoga today and gutted my living room, so burned some calories. I only had coffee and fruit for lunch because breakfast was pancakes with greek yoghurt and syrup, and dinner was a massive ribeye steak with creamy mushrooms and spinach, and 125ml of wine. All within calories but felt like a cheat day Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/01/2016 19:16

well done on loss skinny

kim - im having dh potato hash thingy to try kerb back some control as its all free food and will add some veg and fruit for superfree

FluffyPersian · 09/01/2016 20:54

Thanks to everyone who said kind words - I'm feeling OK today considering I terminated on a Saturday so at the moment, the mornings are always a little teary. I haven't decided what to do yet about the letter as it really, really upset me - so I don't know whether I want to prolong the thoughts and complain or just hope beyond hope I don't get any more letters.

However! I've kept healthy eating.. Fruit for breakfast, a low fat Tescos chicken salad sandwich for lunch and a malt loaf lunchbox bar (I love malt loaf) and I had raw salmon with soy sauce and rice for dinner.

GBBO - Well done! 2.3lb is quite prescise and I love being that precise Smile. Do you have new fangled scales that tells you to 1 or 2 decimal points?

cleanmachine - 5 lbs is IMMENSE! Well done Smile

ThatsNotMyHouseItIsTooClean - Well done as well! I've never done the 5:2 so not really read much about it - I think I'd find the 500 calorie days quite challenging! Are you tracking your calorie intake quite strictly?

RatherBeOnThePiste - I hope you have an awesome time at the party - is it boozy and foody or refined and easy to stick to healthy eating?

It sounds like everyone is doing really well. I feel like I should give my progress, but I'm going to keep going until 31st January when hopefully I'll be keeping up with all of you losers. I get totally obsessed with the scales and if I've been 'good' and then step on the scales and it says a higher number than before, I get really demotivated and think 'What's the point'?..... so it's best to weigh in every month and not every week or even every two weeks at the moment.

Error404usernamenotfound · 09/01/2016 21:20

Glad you're doing OK, Fluffy, you sound incredibly level-headed and strong.

Well done on the losses, GBBO, Clean, ThatsNot, and Notso!

I haven't done too badly today, foodwise, given I relax my diet a little at the weekend:
B: 2 slices granary toast & butter, thinly spread
L: leftover chicken & veg stir fry with a bit of cream cheese mixed in, in a pitta
D: Kim's potato thing, (but without the egg - forgot to get any), and green beans. Gu zillionaire's dessert (quite nice - bit too sweet, but DH loves them & it's Saturday)
Snacks: 2 chocolate mints after dinner
Drinks: 3 mugs of tea, 1l (approx) water, 1 glass red wine

Quite proud that I had no snacks during the day, which I often struggle with, but need to up my water intake.

That potato dish is lovely; I made loads, so we'll have the leftovers as a side dish with Sunday dinner Smile

I also took my measurements today; I often get a bit obsessed with taking loads of measurements, from my arms, bust, under-bust, waist, hips, thigh, lower thigh... and end up going 'sod it, can't be bothered'. So this time I'm just taking measurements from my waist, hips & thigh, which, being where I put the most weight on, will give a good indication of how I am doing. I'm going to take a 'before' photo too, so I can compare it with how I will hopefully look in the summer.

GBBO15 · 09/01/2016 21:24

Thanks Fluffy. Yep fancy digital scales! I have had to be quite precise as up to now have only been losing half a pound a week and although it's been frustrating it has eventually added up to a stone Smile. Though loads more to go so going to try to step it up slightly.

I'm glad you're feeling ok today. I'm sure as more time passes you'll find things easier Flowers.

GBBO15 · 09/01/2016 21:28

Trimmer don't think it's been teething as she's happy during the day- and actually pretty happy all night now I come to think of it, just awake! Fingers crossed last night wasn't just a fluke....

Well done with the running. I'm going to try to get out tomorrow- it's been a looooooong time!

GBBO15 · 10/01/2016 08:16

The baby slept again- that's TWO nights in a row Grin

We had courgetti last night bought ready made from tesco and it was surprisingly good. Even DH liked it which is a complete miracle as he's not exactly a fan of healthy eating/veg. Just bought a spiralizer on Amazon so I can make my own, will report back when it comes. Think we'll get loads of use out of it as we eat a lot of pasta and although I'm not low carb I think it does help my weight loss if I can reduce the carbs a bit.

Kim82 · 10/01/2016 09:20

It's amazing when they sleep well isn't it GBBO? My youngest is 17.5 months and it's only in the last week she has started sleeping through, it's bliss!

Today's menu:

B - fruit and natural yoghurt
L - ham salad sandwich and fruit
D - roast chicken with boiled potatoes, roasties and veg

Snacks - fruit, cucumber sticks and a Milky Way for tonight.

WI tomorrow at 10am and I feel quite nervous about it for some reason.
