I need to lose 3.5 stone - feel so fed up about it I am ignoring the mince pies and Thornton's chocolates! I have lost weight before with a great bunch of ladies on mn. I feel motivated to do the same again and this time keep it off, I went through my wardrobe and found a very stylish tunic I bought in the South of France that I wore once before gaining weight.

Whatever your approach - low carb, Weight Watchers, Slimmers World or healthy eating, all welcome to join me with motivational tips/chat to keep each other going. I find that I don't stick to any plan and eating at meals times/snack on veg and fruit/exercise works for me.

Look forward to chatting with whoever wants to join Smile

Thanks Libraries and Error - I thought that now it was over, I could work on getting my health back (losing weight and exercising) and my head back (counselling) and just seeing if I could cope better 'next time' - Even if I still get antenatal depression, being healthier and working out why I felt so low would be beneficial.

I'm going to make myself a cup of tea now and be kind to myself, but want to make it to 31st January as I'm really feeling the benefits in regards to my sleep (better) and mental health (happier) since eating better for the last 8 days.

Smile
helenahandbag · 08/01/2016 13:21

Sorry to hear that Fluffy, that's awful.

Well, I accidentally ate an entire box of turron that my colleague brought back from Spain. I wasn't hungry for dinner and I managed to get a brisk walk in, so while my calories hit my TDEE, I didn't go totally crazy.

Back on it 100% today and I have spinning at 6pm Smile

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 08/01/2016 14:16

Oh Fluffy, that's crap. So sorry that someone's incompetence has cause you such upset. Flowers

I've had a good week in general, much less crap although still some biccies and lots of good nutrients, which for me is the most important thing.

Obviously I'd like not to have to suck in my stomach when I get undressed in front of DP, but I'd like to be strong, healthy and full of energy more.

I've been having home-made soup for lunch, last night I did some sauteed courgettes, leftover chicken and vegetable cous-cous (basically finely chopped veg bought ready made from Tescos) - it was surprisingly delicious for a low carb dinner so I ate some florentines in the evening as a reward!

Despite not starving or punishing myself I have lost 3lbs this week. DP says he can see a difference (although I think he's just being polite!)

prettybird · 08/01/2016 15:15

Thank you error404 and Mark.

I've had a lovely lunch of smoked salmon and green salad with shavings of Parmesan.

Planning on making low carb chicken nuggets tonight: chicks pieces in nugget size chunks, sparingly coated with a wee bit of corn flour, dipped in beaten egg and then coated in a mix of Parmesan, ground almonds, ground linseed/flaxseed and salt & pepper. Sometimes I add a wee bit of mustard powder.

Lay out on a baking sheet and cook at about 180/200C, turning half way through. Dh likes his cremated well done, so they get cooked for about 30-40 minutes. Less if you don't want them cremated well done.

Error404usernamenotfound · 08/01/2016 15:18

prettybird, that sounds delicious! I'm going to have to start saving these recipes somewhere...

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/01/2016 16:17

thanks for updating list :)

well done pretty on loss, see,s many of us wi on a friday :)

fluffy, that sucks and serious incompetence and heads need to roll for this Flowers

error, thanks for updating me on list

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/01/2016 16:19

went out with my dad to posh restaurant but was a good blondes

chicken breast with rice with tom/onion sauce

b eggs on toast and fruit
t chinese - going to treat myself so no doubt will be bad blondes Grin

Error404usernamenotfound · 08/01/2016 16:36

Ah, Blondes, you can't have a lasting healthy eating regime without a few treats Grin

Note to self: some form of food is ALWAYS, repeat, ALWAYS required around 3.30-4pm. If there is nothing healthy to be had, the vending machine/corner shop/cafe will start up the call of 'suuugaryyy craaaaap'. It cannot be resisted when hungry, as willpower is pants, and therefore, preparation in the form of fruit, oaty bar, etc is key. Got that? Good.

Fluffy, how awful for you. I hope you are being kind to yourself today.

Well done Trimmer, Bowbear, Tortoise, Blonde, Error, Prettybird and Mark on the weight loss. I've somehow lost 2.3lb and am delighted. Smile

Fluffy that's awful Sad take care. Hope you spoil yourself with a lovely bubble bath this evening and a chill out.

Libraries I meant to ask, do you work in a library? I try to use my local library as much as possible, important to try and use it to full advantage.

I've had pasty and chips for dinner followed by a small portion of Ben and Jerry's (a post weigh in dinner!) - light lunch of coucous, chickpeas and salad with a bit of my pizza express dressing, piece of toast and marmalade for breakfast.

I would like to sign up for a 5K run (or in my case slow jog) in early March. To keep me on track, I find it difficult to keep the momentum going with exercise. Planning on walk/jog tomorrow. Weather forecast not looking good will be bucketing down.

Enjoy your Friday night all Smile

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/01/2016 20:37

Well done gbb

Chinese was lovely and has water not booze

'Polishes halo'

Think I prefer to eat then drink Syns

Kim82 · 08/01/2016 20:53

I've been really struggling tonight as we usually get a takeaway at the weekend and my tea just didn't satisfy me. I was good though and stuck with the planned meal and although I wanted chocolate I've just had an apple and now have a bottle of sugar free strawberry flavoured water to satisfy my craving for something sweet.

Think I might go to bed early if my cravings come back!

helenahandbag · 08/01/2016 21:33

Spin tonight was BRUTAL. Honestly, I thought I was going to be sick and I've been spinning for five years now so I'm hardly a novice. I've had dinner and a bath and still feel a bit shaky Confused

Food has been great today, I've had 3.5L of water and I'm feeling really motivated.

drmelons · 08/01/2016 22:28

I'm in too. Have gradually gone up and up on the scales due to having a very difficult few years. I now need to lose a massive 3stone. Am hoping to do this gradually by making sensible choices.

Also have a trip to Centre Parcs this yearShock

ThatsNotMyHouseItIsTooClean · 08/01/2016 23:08

Some more amazing losses! Well done everyone.
For those of you wanting something sweet, I recommend Buttermint tea. It is like drinking a Murray mint. It is nothing like hot chocolate but does deal with my cold, wet afternoon cravings when all I really need is something hot & sweet.
Fluffy that is outrageous. If you can face it, I think you should complain but I can also see how doing that could upset you more.
Another OK day here. I am feeling the brightest I have felt for ages.
B - porridge
L - giant sweet potato with ratatouille & a tiny scattering of grated cheese (about 30 strands)
Snacks - banana, pear
Exercise - 30 day shred & a 1.5km walk
Alcohol - one delicious gin based cocktail

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/01/2016 23:16

Just relised I Havnt had my a and I love cheese

So cut off 45g Lf cheese in a cube and ate it on one

Was that bad?

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/01/2016 23:17

Buttermint tea sounds lovely

Where would I get it from?

RatherBeOnThePiste · 09/01/2016 07:53

Fluffy huge hugs lovely, am sorry, thats proper shit. Love to you xxx

Is that the infamous Nigella avocado on toast MABS ?!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 09/01/2016 07:57

B I don't know what an a is so not a frifffin clue Grin

Well done all losers, you rock.

MABS Join the gym! Bonkers gym prices round here but we go to the one attached to the local swimming pool. No saunas etc, just shiny machines. DS comes with and is doing a lot of weights, so has a trainer session once a week. I had one trainer session when I first went back last year, and it was AWFUL, there was no escape, he kept looking at me, and talking to me FFS!!!.

prettybird · 09/01/2016 10:00

You can get Buttermint tea from Tesco's - and probably the other major supermarkets. Twinings does one.

You can also get peppermint and licquorice tea (various people do them, but Tesco has a decent own brand). It's surprisingly sweet and tasty.

and even nicer if you have a square of 90% chocolate with it if you have a chocolate craving
