I need to lose 3.5 stone - feel so fed up about it I am ignoring the mince pies and Thornton's chocolates! I have lost weight before with a great bunch of ladies on mn. I feel motivated to do the same again and this time keep it off, I went through my wardrobe and found a very stylish tunic I bought in the South of France that I wore once before gaining weight.

Whatever your approach - low carb, Weight Watchers, Slimmers World or healthy eating, all welcome to join me with motivational tips/chat to keep each other going. I find that I don't stick to any plan and eating at meals times/snack on veg and fruit/exercise works for me.

Look forward to chatting with whoever wants to join Smile

I absolutely agree with the slow and steady approach - know of someone who has had all sorts of problems from rapid weight loss.

Tortoise - Didn't say, but congrats on the pound, top banana!

Kim82 · 08/01/2016 07:59

Well done Trim, 4.5lb is a brilliant loss! That's amazing!

I'm going to have to plan my food well today as dh is going out tonight and that's always a signal for me to buy myself a big share bag of crisps and some chocolate to munch in front of the TV. I'll have to be super good today and save my syns for tonight.

Today's food should hopefully be:

B - scrambled egg, bacon, mushrooms, grilled tomato and beans
L - ham salad sandwich and fruit
D - gammon, jacket potato and salad
Snacks - fruit, yoghurt, cherry tomatoes, cucumber sticks

My exercise will be walking to toddler group today instead of driving. Just hope the rain holds off.

If I can stick with that I'll have had a completely syn free day so I'll be able to have my curly wurly, a packet of crisps and drink diet coke tonight.

SoleBizzz · 08/01/2016 07:59

This thread is very interesting to read but as I am not doing another slow and steady diet I will bow out.

Kim82 · 08/01/2016 08:00

Sorry, well done both tortoise and bowbear too! You're all doing so well.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 08/01/2016 08:06

and Bow too!

Thread moves so quickly. Unlike my arse.

Honestly doesn't matter what you are doing Sole - all welcome for weight loss support, don't feel you need to go. Lots of folk here doing SW - I haven't a bloody clue what they are on about with their syns n things, but the support is fab, we all have common goal.

ThatsNotMyHouseItIsTooClean · 08/01/2016 08:15

Well done Gettin, Bow & Tortoise. There's a naff but true poem which does the rounds occasionally about "just" a pound which always cheers me up whenever I lose "just a pound.
Gettin - BNS risotto was off the BBC Good Food website. It was a bit of a faff but delicious. DH used white wine vinegar but I think it should have been white wine.

GettinTrimmer · 08/01/2016 08:17

Thanks guys Smile

Like Bow I realise it's the first week after the excess, but really pleased, and I fancy my waist is a little more indented. Just had a treat of a large crusty bit of wholemeal toast, butter and ginger and lemon marmarlade, which I avoid mostly due to sugar.

Piste I've just seen that news article about alcohol. Did anybody see secret eaters?

Have to get off to work now, long day today

RatherBeOnThePiste · 08/01/2016 08:17

Anyway, back in the gym again today....

The 'anything goes' 2016 Weight Loss thread.
Blondeshavemorefun · 08/01/2016 08:34

Trimmer. Yah. Well done :)

Welcome tortoise and well done. A lb is a lb - someone remind me that later when I get pissed off that I've only lost a lb lol

Bow. Well done on loss

Mabs - wine is bad !!!!

Kim good menu for SW

Sole. No need to leave. We are all doing diff diets

Assume you are liquid /Cambridge etc if not slow and steady - but still more then welcome

Anyone is :)

Those who have wi don't forget to add to list as that's the one that gets copied with each loss

I'm off to bed as worked last night but will wi when I wake up

Night all

MABS · 08/01/2016 08:57

think i will rejoin a gym at w/e

PartyCityGhoul · 08/01/2016 09:00

Morning guys!

Grats Trimmer, Bowbear and tortoise (and welcome! ) some great starts!

GoodBetter, I'm always trying to bear the Harcombe plan in mind - it does make good sense doesn't it

Sole, if you'd like to stick about, please do - In all honesty I'm not planning on doing this too slowly Bad Ghoul not supposed to say that! and generally chatting is good!

That said, yesterday wasn't as great - lots of really good meeting room food came out (they must have changed provider)! And I was ravenous by 11 (very unusual! );

'brunch' (11) - 1/2 a smoked salmon and egg roll and a handful of soft fruit @~400,
lunch - small pork bahn mi ~600
dinner 2 sausages, tbsp gravy and veg ~ 500,
pudding 5 Shock lebkuchen 200 c.

I'm due on in the next few days so am getting hollow abdomen feeling!! But this weekend i AM going to do a youtube yoga thing at last. Just can't start it during the week.

Error404usernamenotfound · 08/01/2016 09:57

Morning! Well done on the losses so far, everyone. I have somehow managed to lose 2lb, which I was not expecting, but am very pleased about Grin

sole, please do stay - this is the Anything Goes thread, so even if a lot of us are doing slow & steady it doesn't mean those are the only people the thread is for.

This morning I had wholemeal toast with marmite (no butter for a change), and half a banana. Managed to resist the craving for a can of coke to 'help wake me up' when i got into uni and instead am sipping a cup of tea.

How is everyone else's morning going?

i had an avocado chopped up one slice wholemeal toast, no butter, that ok or not great?

Error404usernamenotfound · 08/01/2016 10:34

Avocado's are great - loads of nutrients. A fair amount of fat too, tbh, but the kind the body needs to function well, not the kind that clogs up the arteries. Smile

Error404usernamenotfound · 08/01/2016 10:47

I can't believe I put an apostrophe in a plural form of a word. I know better than that Blush

prettybird · 08/01/2016 10:58

Woohoo - have lost 3lb since Tuesday could have claimed 3.5lb but couldn't get the scales to repeat the lower weight so down to 13stone 10lb.

Low carbing plus lots of water seems to work for me. Smile

I've started doing the Shred (since Wednesday) but haven't been out for a run yet. I'm working my way up to that!

Have cut out alcohol from today: we had a half a bottle of pink bubbly that I had to finish and yesterday dh and I were helping a friend clear out his flat (up 52 steps Shock) and take the boxes (there were over 30 - I did 13 trips down with boxes myself) to his new house (a 1st floor conversion). I needed a couple of glasses after that! Grin Who needs Step Classes! Wink

prettybird · 08/01/2016 11:17

I'll post up a revised list when I'm back on a PC.

MABS · 08/01/2016 11:30

well done Pretty, and thanks Error :)

Kim82 · 08/01/2016 11:44

Well done pretty and error.

My morning didn't go as planned and I ended up having no breakfast at all. I've just had my lunch though which was a ham salad sandwich and a banana so can hopefully stay on track the rest of the day.

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/01/2016 12:18

Omg. Lost 4 lbs :)

Will do list once on laptop

LibrariesGaveUsP0wer · 08/01/2016 12:23

Well done Blondes

Yesterday was awful. I was doing ok all day, then I realised in the evening I had lost the library membership cards (and needed to collect something today for DD1's project) and mainlined a handful of jelly babies, a slice of Christmas cake and something else I now forget.

Oops Blush

FluffyPersian · 08/01/2016 12:43

Well done on all the losses - That's really awesome Smile

Food wise, I'm doing really well - Mentally, not so much as I just got a letter through the post saying as I was expecting a baby soon the Health visitor wanted to visit me to talk to me Sad

I terminated in October and my GP knows, as does my Midwife and I religiously let the hospital scan department and the Consultant and Consultant Midwife know... so this letter has knocked me for six and I've spent the last hour crying (working from home today). I've got such guilt over it and this is why I put on so much weight over the last 3 months.. as I've wanted to ''punish' myself.

Usually, things like this make me want to eat crap, however so far I've only had some fruit for breakfast and boiled eggs for lunch... Now I'm writing this post, rather than reaching for the chocolate as I really want to make changes and not continue the self destructive cycle I got myself into last year.

I hope everyone has a lovely day Smile

LibrariesGaveUsP0wer · 08/01/2016 12:58

Oh Fluffy. That's truly shitty for you. Have some Flowers and take a big helping of from Pistey's pile up thread.

Well done on not letting it derail you. As illustrated by my story, I caved in to emotional eating on much lesser grounds!

Error404usernamenotfound · 08/01/2016 12:58

Oh Fluffy, that's so shit, I'm sorry you've had to go through that.

Someone deserves to be dragged over the coals for causing you such horrible, and so easily avoidable, upset.

And well done for handling it so well.
