I need to lose 3.5 stone - feel so fed up about it I am ignoring the mince pies and Thornton's chocolates! I have lost weight before with a great bunch of ladies on mn. I feel motivated to do the same again and this time keep it off, I went through my wardrobe and found a very stylish tunic I bought in the South of France that I wore once before gaining weight.

Whatever your approach - low carb, Weight Watchers, Slimmers World or healthy eating, all welcome to join me with motivational tips/chat to keep each other going. I find that I don't stick to any plan and eating at meals times/snack on veg and fruit/exercise works for me.

Look forward to chatting with whoever wants to join Smile

...also rewards, I will get myself some yankee ginger tea lights! Will be on 1st Feb when there's been a month.

GettinTrimmer · 07/01/2016 15:31

Error hit nail on head there. Sorry about job, what a pain.

Error404usernamenotfound · 07/01/2016 15:40

Thanks Gettin. I don't desperately need a job, as we're doing OK financially, but could do with a little extra, and it would have been a bit of a CV-booster as well, as is in the industry I'm trying to get into. Ah well, it wasn't to be. DH cheered me up by saying they were clearly crazy not to have hired me, love him Grin

I like your idea of non-foodie treats as well; I might treat myself to some posh bubble bath when I've shifted half a stone. Usually I just get cheap crap from wilkos Smile

NoelHeadbands · 07/01/2016 16:03

Wotcha!

Well done Losers, and good luck tomorrow those weighing in. And never mind Error, onwards and upwards and all that Smile

B- eggs on dry toast
L- omelette (Blush) yes really. 4 eggs so far today. Think I'll avoid eggs for tea as well...
T- who knows?!

The potato and onion thingy sounds lush, might just try that this weekend

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/01/2016 16:20

seriously try the potato thing, its scrummy, the onions make it all moist, i was going to add stock but kim dh didnt so i didnt

think im eating too much fruit, just had a melon

but surely better then biscuits

piste, you did get too slim, think i saw you in brighton and you were very slim

think lack of carbs isnt always a good thing ........

drinking gallons of water and lots of fruit

i will lose weight tomorrow ......

MABS · 07/01/2016 16:22

No booze since Sunday, miracle for me in truth. Barely eaten much either. Chopped avocado on one slice wholemeal toast is ok isn't it? no butter, just lemon juice. I do feel a glass calling me tonight tho...

Think i have got to rejoin one of the gyms, am just too lazy without it and i do like the steam room and spa too ;-)

FluffyPersian · 07/01/2016 16:32

Yes yes to the non-food treats!

At the end of January, I plan to buy new underwear, the end of February I plan to go to the spa and at the end of March, I’m going to get eyelash extensions again (I used to get them as I think they looked really nice in a non-drag queen way) I thought this would be something nice to look forward to each month and motivate me Smile

Error404usernamenotfound · 07/01/2016 16:55

That sounds lovely, Fluffy. I want to get myself some nice underwear when I reach my goal weight, so just need to think of what I will do when I shift my second half a stone, then I've got little motivators for each half-stone(ish).

Also, I've just realised that I'm trying to lose 20lb, not 15. Damn.

Error404usernamenotfound · 07/01/2016 17:01

1st July is my new date target, given that I clearly lost the ability to count, or know how many pounds there are in a stone, god knows what I did there Confused

Goodbetterbest · 07/01/2016 18:20

Bf commented that I looked as though I lost weight. Naturally I berated him for commenting on my body, and it shouldn't matter etc etc. (Whilst beaming inside).

To be fair I was a right bloater last week right after Christmas, full of thrush and fluid retention. Attractive huh?

I like the Harcombe Diet 5 day de-tox to knock me into the right frame of mind. It's a really good kick start. It's low-ish carb and you don't mix carbs and protein in one meal. It makes a lot of sense to me. I was suffering from IBS and since I first did the de-tox, a few years ago now, I have never suffered since. But wheat does make me both farty and a fatty.

SoleBizzz · 07/01/2016 18:58

I have thirteen stones to lose.

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/01/2016 19:54

Sole - Slow and steady - it will come off What diet are you going to do?

The 'anything goes' 2016 Weight Loss thread.
GettinTrimmer · 07/01/2016 20:46

Welcome Sole we do different things on this thread - I am not following a diet/plan, just eating at meal times (healthy choices).

Did anyone see Davina on the One Show? She has a new DVD out, and talked about 80:20, while doing anything, 20% of the week have a break from it! Just as well - but not wise the night before a wi - just had Christmas cake and left over pizza!

Kim82 · 07/01/2016 20:48

Today has been another good food day:

2 weetabix (Healthy extra B and milk from Healthy Extra A)
Banana
Fruit salad (grapes, apple, kiwi, satsuma, melon, banana) and fat free natural yoghurt
Packet of weight watchers crinkle crisps (5 syns)
Freddo (5 syns)
2 eggs on a piece of wholemeal toast (2.5 syns)

Drinks were tea and water.

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/01/2016 21:31

Thanks kim but Omg Shock

thud

Blondes faints

I thought it would be 5 ish

Chicken veg noodles free

So only the sauce? 15??????

How. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

No way I will lose tomorrow now as way over Syns today :(

GBBO15 · 07/01/2016 21:38

Thanks Party and Piste, just glad it's over. WI tomorrow and just hoping not to have gained, it's been a bad week for trying to eat healthily. Turning over a new leaf tomorrow though Smile

ThatsNotMyHouseItIsTooClean · 07/01/2016 22:12

I'm another one who is slow & steady. When I lost this same stone last year, I lost 8lbs in 10 weeks and then plateau'd for 6 weeks although was visibly changing shape at the time and then had a similar pattern of loss, long plateau, loss with the remaining six pounds. And then I swapped exercise for sitting on the sofa with a bag of crisps & a glass of wine & piled it all on again.
Another OK day today:
B - 2 X weetabix and 1/2 bananas
L - one slice toast with spinach, cucumber and 1/2 tuna with some mayo piled on it
Supper - bns risotto
Snacks - 2 celery sticks with a smear of almond butter, 2 carrots, 1 orange, 1 skinny latte
Exercise - 30 day shred and 17 mins on exercise bike (would have been 20 but risotto cooked faster than DH expected)
Out tomorrow night so I'm going to have to get up at 6.00 tomorrow to Shred before work.

GettinTrimmer · 08/01/2016 06:32

Just weighed in. Lost 4.5lb!!

GettinTrimmer · 08/01/2016 06:34

That'sNot How do you make that bns risotto? Like the sound of that. Have a good day all Smile

Tortoiseonthehalfshell · 08/01/2016 06:37

I know I'm late to this thread but can I join in anyway? I have a history of being very successful with diets but not lasting the distance. So I'm deliberately trying to not follow any particular plan, taking it slowly, eating when hungry (I am very good at starving myself for short periods of time) and exercising. You know. The boring slow sensible way.

Anyway, I've lost 1lb in the past ten days, which pleases me more than if I'd lost 10. So:

WTL 16.5lbs WL 1lb WTG 15.5lb

Morning Chums Brew

Welcome Tortoise

Trim - thats just fabulous, how fantastic a start is that?!

Sole Shove yourself on the list, join us!

Ahhh MABS - Booze, I hear you. had my bro and family over for Christmas and we went bonkers, all the usual stuff, plus loads of lush red wine, and what we call 'stickies' too - so the Amaretto, sloe gin etc. So that time has gone, now thinking about normal drinking too. DH tends to have a glass of wine a night, or a whiskey and I have my beloved gin. Just habit, need booze free days. Funnily enough stuff all over the news this morn.

Have decided to look at the small steps with this, not the whole, so I have mini targets, like making the scales have a different number at the start, even smaller than that, keeps me going.

I don't understand syns tbh

Have a good day

MABS · 08/01/2016 07:52

well done to you all! Wine was on the menu last night sadly and am out tonight and tomorrow so wine and gin probably dammit...

bowbear · 08/01/2016 07:53

Have just weighed in and have lost 4lb, yay! Most likely down to not inserting a mince pie into my mouth every hour as I did over Christmas. Nice kick start but don't expect to keep this up every week, nice as it would be

WTL 40lb WL4lb WTG 36lb

Hope you are all having a good week and the hard work is paying off for everyone
