Sorry if stepping on toes. But couldn't see another thread. Anybody want to join me? I guess the idea is that some weeks you loose a bit more and some weeks you gain but aiming for 1lb a week sounds good to me.

I weighed in this morning and have lost 3lb which is brilliant as I haven't stuck religiously to the allowance MFP gives me - I don't do too badly all day but evenings and the weekend are a nightmare, I just want a treat! It's the old 'as soon as you know you can't have it you want it' thing.

On the plus side there were doughnuts at work today and I resisted them which I was very pleased about. Wish the weather would get better as the one exercise I really enjoy is a lunchtime walk but it's freezing cold, wet and muddy at the moment - I only got out once or twice last week.

Fossie · 11/01/2016 20:46

Down 5lb since 1st Jan but nothing in the last 4 days which is discouraging since I am trying so hard. May need to add in some exercise.

fieldfare · 11/01/2016 21:09

All the loses are brilliant!
Only half a pound over the weekend so that makes 4.5lbs.
I've got such a dodgy tummy though. We're doing low GI and my upper tummy feels so sensitive, almost inflamed. Will look up that carb flu thing, thanks.

glenthebattleostrich · 12/01/2016 21:03

How is everyone getting on this week? I'm doing a bit better.

I've just done my first run of the week, so week 2, run 1 of couch to 10k. I did it up a hill no less, a bloody big one. And stupid boys in a car shouted stuff and I had enough breath to swear at them!

Food wise, 2 good days fairly low carb so pretty happy with the first 2 days this week. I will carry it on for the rest of the week!

The plan is, run Thursday night and Saturday morning. I may even try the big hill again as I feel great having done it :) Now if anyone fancies coming round to my house and forcing me to do this please feel free!!!

Rinceoir · 13/01/2016 00:26

I've been eating pretty well, considering I've worked 2 13.5 hour days in a row. Kept it to 1500kcals or so a day, no exercise but lots of running about at work. Weighed myself again today and scales unchanged but hopefully will show later in week. Missing my toddler terribly though so tomorrow evening I'm setting aside for cuddles, planning to start couch to 5k this weekend. I used to run a lot and had terrible SPD when pregnant so stopped and just know it will be awful to start again but should love it when established.

Mrsmorton · 13/01/2016 08:02

172lb, down to 164lb today. So that's 8lb which is good in 2 weeks. I need to consolidate it though otherwise I'll hit my stall and put it all back on. I'm trying really hard!!

dudsville · 13/01/2016 08:20

I was thinking of you all this morning. I'm so tempted to weigh myself but am committed to waiting for feb 1st just in case I get disappointed... but I feel like I may have lost a bit, my stomach feels a little flatter. My issue is that when I've lost weight I tend to do it from top down. While I'm a little concerned about my top half, losing a few inches around my hips and thighs will allow me to fit into my favourite skirts and trousers.

Mrsmorton, I'm so impressed with your 8 lb loss!

fieldfare · 13/01/2016 08:55

MrsMorton, 8lbs - wow! That's really impressive.

As is the running, I can't run for toffee!

I did manage an hour's kettle bell class and 10km on the bike afterwards yesterday though. My thighs are killing me today and my knees are creaking though so I'm going swimming today instead. I got my mile time down to 44 minutes before Xmas so I'm hoping I'll be somewhere near that now.

I've been sticking to 1500 cals a day, and my Fitbit tells me that I'm burning around 3000 cals a day so that should mean a decent loss when I next weigh. Although last night I was so hungry after my dinner I ended up making myself another carb free dinner 2 hrs later! Like a flipping hobbit! Still within calorie target for the day so it's not too bad.

Rinceoir · 13/01/2016 17:28

I really need to up the exercise. Working full time and have a toddler so don't want to do anything when she's up and I could be spending time with her so I think I need to motivate myself to 530am runs in the week and more civilised ones at weekends.

NantucketNightbird · 13/01/2016 19:27

Wow you are all doing brilliant especially all the exercise. I'm doing good with the eaton but haven't managed any exercise yet Blush. DH is on board now which is making things easier too. What tasty delights have you all had then? I've been stuck in a lentil soup rut!

I've just been given a smoothie recipe of Kale, pineapple (including central core), Chia seeds (couldn't find those), kiwi, turmeric, almond, blueberries, ginger and that was quite nice to drink and filling. Didn't need special equipment. I'm trying another veg soup tomorrow. It has been a revelation that I can buy frozen onion and red pepper and mixed veg. Even frozen ginger and garlic. I think it will be a quick meal tomorrow.

fieldfare · 13/01/2016 22:06

Fossie that smoothie sounds nice, I saw a recipe earlier for a beetroot based one that I'll be having a go at tomorrow.

Nantucket, what kind of healthy eating plan are you doing?

We're doing low GI and cutting out all refined sugar and carbs, so just eating really healthily really. Dinner today was delicious, I made slow cooked lamb, a red cabbage coleslaw type thing, chopped salad and mint and yoghurt dip. Had one wholemeal wrap with it so it was like a homemade kebab.
I've also discovered peanut butter and cocoa powder so made a smoothie with a banana, almond milk and some of this powder. Delicious and sweet enough to kill my sugar craving.
I swam and my time was rubbish, but never mind it's all calories burnt off! Good long walk with the dog tomorrow and then yoga tomorrow night. I actually jogged for a short distance today with the dog (where no one could see me, ha!) and didn't keel over so yay!

NantucketNightbird · 14/01/2016 06:51

Field, if you read some of my other posts that's what I've been having too! Almond milk, powdered peanut butter (how tasty is it) a banana and sometimes a tablespoon of oats. I'm a vegetarian and just trying to curb the snacking and huge portions which all seemed to be based on a creamy cheese sauce. Yesterday I had vegetarian meatballs (6) in tomato sauce with lots of veg added. I usually add nutritional yeast on top of my meals as a sort of cheese substitute. Even though I'm going to bed not hungry I'm still thinking about chocolate and wotsits until I fall asleep Confused

Nantucket, I think it was you that I got the idea from :) mentioned it to Dh who promptly ordered me some! Dd (who's mainly veggie but eats a little fish on occasion) has started having it for breakfast with me, we like it with a tablespoon of milled linseed in too.

I'm in a bit of a grump today, it's cold and I have my tax return to do. Which makes me want to sit with a coffee and custard creams or a really thick slice of toast with butter and marmite! Really bad carb cravings today.
Will have to make something suitably comforting for dinner.

How's everyone getting on?

NantucketNightbird · 14/01/2016 09:54

Ooh I will have to pop some linseed in my next one, it also thickens well with chia seeds. Such a saving on cals too compared to regular peanut butter.
I could really go for toast with butter and marmalade right now but wouldn't be able to stop at one or three

Hello :)
I lost 51lbs in a year a few years ago doing ww, but I broke my cocycx, the sprained my ankle and I've put loads back on Confused I need to lose about 3 1/2 stone and went back to ww early this week
I quite like the new ww after reading through it, but I'm more of a savoury person than sweet.
Eating ok but not doing much exercise Blush

Rinceoir · 14/01/2016 18:02

I've been trying lots of new recipes- mostly Jamie Oliver and some of Donal Skehans new recipes. I'm not vegetarian but don't eat meat every day and have made quinoa and lentil chilli, beetroot burgers and saag paneer in the past two weeks.

fieldfare · 15/01/2016 08:03

Beetroot burgers sound interesting will have to look that up!
Because Dd is mainly veggie, Dh and I are too really as it's healthier and so much easier to only cook one meal.
I did WW years ago too and lost a reasonable amount but the plan seems to have changed an awful lot.

I just need to remember to drink more, sometimes I'll get to 6pm and only have had one glass of water all day as I've not been very thirsty. Must get on this!

Rinceoir · 15/01/2016 08:36

They are really good. I didn't have all the toppings, but had a lovely big salad and sweet potato wedges with them. www.donalskehan.com/recipes/blushing-beetroot-burgers/

NantucketNightbird · 15/01/2016 09:29

Well I almost caved last night but thought about it and realised it wasn't worth. Very proud of myself Smile
I'm sat here now with my shake and excited for weigh in on Monday.

fieldfare · 15/01/2016 11:51

Thanks rinceoir!

I caved in and had a slice of wholemeal toast with butter and marmite. It was freaking delicious. Still craving marmite so must be lacking in something. Will make myself a hot drink in a mo.

My fifth workout of the week done, I should be a waif by now, cos that's how it works right?!

NantucketNightbird · 15/01/2016 12:15

Really want some toast now Smile I need to stop thinking about wotsits, technically a 6 pack of them and 200g of chocolate would bring me to around 1000 calories. Blush

d270r0 · 15/01/2016 14:32

Well I've been being really good and have lost 7lb over the past 2 weeks in total!
But then went round for lunch at a friends and had loads of curry with rice and cake. Couldn't resist... it was there in front of me looking lovely. So I guess today isn't going to be great, but I am going to be good from now on. (Helps that I'm feeling really full at the moment!). In the past this is always when I've fallen off the diet- I have one bad moment then before I know it I am scoffing everything in sight. Not this time!

NantucketNightbird · 15/01/2016 15:21

I've just had a brilliant dinner of 2 whole meal pittas with spring onion and mixed leaves, light houmous (sp?) with 2 mini onion bhajees (60 cals for 2) mashed in each and spread out. It was amazing and I have my shake to look forward to later. Smile
Half a stone is amazing!

fieldfare · 15/01/2016 19:46

Well done d27, half a stone is brilliant. Tomorrow's another day and I bet you had a lovely time with friends.

That sounds lovely Nantucket.
