Sorry if stepping on toes. But couldn't see another thread. Anybody want to join me? I guess the idea is that some weeks you loose a bit more and some weeks you gain but aiming for 1lb a week sounds good to me.

Ugh, Feb/March are just the pits in terms of bugs. Dd2's collar bone isn't so painful now, but last night we ended up back at the hospital as she lost half of the vision in her right eye. It came back after half an hour, so they are supposing ocular migraine or something, but because we were there for the second time in less than a week we had to go through the whole 'do you feel safe at home' process, which totally freaked her out as she was imagining social services coming in and taking her away (logic doesn't come into it with dd2... which in that sort of situation is completely counter-productive lol). So anyhoo, I suppose I ought to tidy up in case they come knocking Grin. This weekend I AM going to get outside! No suicidal friends or broken bones please!!
Hi badger!
I'm the sloooooowest weight loser here. But it's going. I think I'm slightly behind the 1lb a week now, but hope to catch up!

Rinceoir · 20/03/2016 12:56

Mad- a lb a week on average is pretty good, especially with all the stress you've been under. DD is much better, she slept 14hours straight last night so we are all better rested. Got out for w4r2 couch to 5k this morning. Had a brunch of last nights leftovers and am planning to make food for 2 days tonight - green soup for lunches and veg chilli for dinner.

Rinceoir · 20/03/2016 12:56

And welcome badger! Most of us weigh in on Monday but we are a fairly easy going group!

Squiffy01 · 20/03/2016 16:23

Hi everyone,
Have been reading for ages but now I think it is time I join in as I can't stop eating!
I know I'm a bit late so do feel free to tell me to go else where!
I have been fairly good until the last 2 weeks I've gained both weeks. 200g first and 100g this last week which I know isn't a huge amount but I feel it is the end of my being good and it can't be!

This is what I always do I'm good for a month ish then I blow it!
I don't know why I'm so hungry all of a sudden and craving so much rubbish food.

NantucketNightbird · 20/03/2016 19:42

Welcome all the newcomers Smile
Good luck to anyone weighing tomorrow, I'm hoping to get down boots first thing after dropping off the children. Going to keep the 3yr old off another day even though all the chicken pox have dried up he had one inside his bottom eye lid and it's been pretty swollen with him rubbing it. So want to keep an eye on him an extra day. Still haven't surfaced on dd if she's going to get them I wish it would be now rather than Easter holidays.

Welcome Squiffy. I lost 3lbs this week after a few weeks of small losses so I'm delighted!

NantucketNightbird · 22/03/2016 10:20

Good going rince that's amazing!

4lbs down for me since last Monday. For the first time in 4 years I'm seeing my weight starting with a 10. This is a major achievement for me and I'm so happy. According to boots scale in 11lbs away from a healthy BMI and 19lbs away from goal. 5 weeks until I go to butlins I would love to be at a healthy BMI by then but I do not want to set myself up for failure.

How is everyone else getting on?

Welcome all,

Well done Nan and Rince! Brilliant work.

I've stayed the same, which I'm okay with because I'm not moving as much as I'd like.

I am going to physio on Thursday! So fingers crossed I'll be back on track soon. Smile

Havalina1 · 23/03/2016 15:08

Nantucket that's bloody amazing, well done!

I'm back in the uk after my 2.5wk break back home. House move completed in as far as we are physically in the new place. Now the real work starts, making it a home Shock

I haven't found the scales to weigh myself! But I don't feel like I've gained anything and in a way I was too busy to sit around having coffee and cakes for hours with friends. Time flew :( Will try weigh in next Monday!

NantucketNightbird · 24/03/2016 10:28

How is everyone? What are you all doing about weighing Easter week? I think I will leave it until a week Monday. I'm not having a chocolate egg or a dinner but dd wants me to make the nigella nest cake and that sure as hell will be hard to resist.

Nobody else has noticed my weightloss, I'm not an attention seeker but I just want someone to say wow Blush or at least well done. It's really disheartening.

Giant WOW from me. It is amazing. Just wait for them to notice. They will! Have you started getting a new wardrobe pulled together? You're going to need it Smile

Skinnymalinx you Smile

NantucketNightbird · 24/03/2016 17:07

Yes I've been buying lots in a 12 and 10 (ultimate goal) and yesterday I gave away about 40 dresses which I never want to bloody wear or see again.

Thanks hav it means loads.

Rinceoir · 24/03/2016 18:40

Nan you are doing amazingly. Seriously well done! You are so close to goal now. I still need to lose another 2 stone to get to healthy and ideally another 7-10lbs more to sit comfortably in the bracket.

NantucketNightbird · 24/03/2016 18:50

Rince you have been consistently loosing and have done brilliant. I'm scared of what happens when I'm at goal, is it possible to join slimming world for maintenance?

OP posts:
Rinceoir · 24/03/2016 18:58

I think you need to have a certain amount of weight to lose, maybe start when you are down to your last stone to go? The last few pounds can be stubborn so might be worth the change at that stage. I was working until 10 yesterday and ended up in late today, just on my bus now. Think I'll drag myself out for a run while husband puts DD to bed and have a nice lie in tomorrow. DD has been really tired after her bug and I've had to wake her up the last few days- tomorrow she'll probably be up at 5!

I'm going out for lunch Sunday and meeting friend for drinks Saturday so I'm worried about making good choices. Will need to do some perusing of online calorie counts.

NantucketNightbird · 24/03/2016 19:27

I think I will join once I hit my 3st loss then rince. I will have a stone to loose then. That's 6lb away so hopefully some time after the Easter holidays.
I admire you going for a run Smile I keep planning on using the time ds is in half day school (nursery at older children school, known as half day school here) to exercise etched but to be fair by the time I walk the mile home I just want an hour to myself Blush

I don't think the running adds much to weight loss tbh but it's great for fitness and feeling better generally. I used to love to run so I'm hoping once I go a bit further and a bit faster I'll be hooked again. I'm quite enjoying my couch to 5k now, hoping to start park runs in a month or two, and build up the distance after the summer (once I can do 5k at a non snails pace!).

Rinceoir · 27/03/2016 08:52

Happy Easter all! I made the executive decision to weigh in this morning. I'm out for Easter lunch today and am going to allow myself some chocolate, and try pull it back over the next week. Lost 2lbs, aiming to be this weight still next week.

NantucketNightbird · 27/03/2016 10:39

Wow that is fantastic rince! I won't be weighing until next Monday. Today I'm having a small cooked dinner (no meat I'm vegetarian) and the cake is in the oven but apart from this I will be back on it first thing. It was tough this morning when DH was going to get a subway. I love a veggi patty on Italian with cheese, mayo, lettuce and onion. But I said no .

My daughter has been unwell for a few days and woke up this morning with the chicken pox! She hasn't even eaten any chocolate, it's going to be a tough week stuck in with her.
Enjoy the chocolate rince I'm going to savour the cake if it doesn't burn

Can I join please? I have far too much weight to lose to just taking it in small goals. I have allowed life to get in my way lately and have gained a few lbs which you can really see, particularly around my face. My first goal is to get back to where I was a few weeks ago then down into the next stone. 1lb at a time sounds manageable! I've read through the thread and you are all doing so well! Looking forward to taking inspiration from this thread.

NantucketNightbird · 27/03/2016 18:01

Glad to have you joining us banana Smile. Are you following any sort of plan? I'm just doing my own thing not really counting calories but making better decisions. Setting yourself small goals is great and exactly what I do. Good luck you will do great.

OP posts:
Rinceoir · 27/03/2016 18:19

Welcome banana! I'm taking it week by week as well, it seems slow but suddenly I've lost 2 stone. I've also started couch to 5k and today ran 20mins straight for the first time in 3 years. I'm still a stone heavier than when I started running before (and I'm aiming to lose another 2-3 stone) but it suddenly seems more manageable.

I'm counting calories with my fitness pal. Someday I go over, but as I'm aiming for 1450-1500cals a day it's fairly manageable. I'm going on holidays in 7 weeks so I would love to be in the next stone bracket by then (10lbs away) but I'll be happy enough if it's slower.

I've also tried staying away from refined sugar as much as possible as I find it addictive. It seems to be working- I had some Easter egg today and didn't feel the need to gorge and finish it so that's a little victory in itself. Lastly, I've started wearing a pedometer and aim for 10k steps at weekends, 12k steps on workdays (on my feet all day at work). I often go well over that, and some quiet days go under but I find some days it will spur me on to walk an extra few mins to a further bus stop or pace around the kitchen to hit my goals.

NantucketNightbird · 28/03/2016 21:56

How's everyone getting on? I've got an awful cold, my head and throat hurts. Can't stop sneezing and my lips are chapped and swollen, it looks like I've had dodgy lip filler and overdone it on lip liner Grin

OP posts:
Rinceoir · 29/03/2016 08:38

Nan you are really having a rough time of it. Hope DD feels better, and you recover quickly. We've had non stop colds and flus here since late January- haven't had a full week yet where the three of us have been well. I definitely overate over Easter - more my regular meals than chocolate tbh. Was out for lunch twice and tried to pick the healthier options but had know idea how many calories they contained.

I did do a good bit of exercise so hoping that will limit the damage a bit. Thought I'd give 30 day shred a try coming up to my holidays. Started last night- it's hard! I don't think I can do 30 consecutive days but aiming to do it before my holidays in 7 weeks. And kept going with c2 5k as well as getting out with DD (although I doubt walking at her pace burned many calories!).

NantucketNightbird · 29/03/2016 10:16

I'm shattered could hardly sleep, all I ate yesterday was two bowls of soup as my lips are so sore. I can't get out to buy a decent lip balm until later either. I haven't had a cold in so long it's hit me big time. I could hardly bath the kids this morning and the kitchen floor can wait. I could really drink a can of coke right now Confused.
Rince you have done so well whilst faced with illness and general life that a few meals out will not make to put all the weight back on. Go easy on yourself you are doing so well.
My ear is hurting now too, Is it bedtime yet Sad
