Sorry if stepping on toes. But couldn't see another thread. Anybody want to join me? I guess the idea is that some weeks you loose a bit more and some weeks you gain but aiming for 1lb a week sounds good to me.

Hello all, how's everyone's week going? DD has started sleeping again after her bug so I feel much better rested and optimistic! Did w2r2 of c25k this morning and enjoyed it. I measured everywhere today (been doing it every few weeks) and I've lost a few inches which is nice - mostly from my waist but finally seeing my hips/thighs shrink a bit.

NantucketNightbird · 10/03/2016 13:01

Hey rince, glad dd is better and great news on the inch loss I must do this as I'm only half way there. I'm taking the children to a waterpark after school so lots of running up steps to go down the slides. Food wise haven't strayed once I really want to get into the next stone range so I'm going to make my next goal 10.13 by April 1st that means loosing 6lbs.

I went shopping for some work clothes this afternoon and bought a pair of trousers in (drum roll) - Zara! Delighted with that. Got a few things that look ok now but will look better in another half stone.

madwomanbackintheattic · 12/03/2016 15:36

Nice! (Both the shopping, the inches AND your new goal, nan. V doable for you!)
Everyone is away here - it's just ds and me. Dh is back in UK, dd1 is at some school conference thing, and dd2 is away for the weekend doing her first ever para ski race . I have an entire weekend of unfulfilling crap to plough through, no enthusiasm, and it must be done. Frankly I just want it all out of the way now .
They have finally found a mental health place for my friend, so she moves from the hospital on weds. This is good news, but it all feels very cyclical to me, and as though they aren't really getting anywhere. She says the new meds are great, but still seems to be endlessly cycling around the same subjects in the same way - it's her thought patterns that need to change... Ugh.

So, if I can get this paperwork done today, I am planning on spending a lot of time outside tomorrow!! Fresh air for me as a reward for being stuck on my butt all day today!

Rinceoir · 13/03/2016 15:52

Mad I hope you got out today! It's a glorious day, I've just done w3r1 c25k. Starving but eating very lightly today because I've promised my husband we can have an Indian take away tonight. I'm thinking of getting tandoori chicken, some dal and making cauliflower rice. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

madwomanbackintheattic · 13/03/2016 16:09

It's only 10am here, but not shaping up to be a fine day - boo. Dd2 hurt her shoulder falling in the warm-up run yesterday (they are three hours away) and although they hoped she would be okay to race today, she did something to it getting dressed this morning (I suspect it did that clicking thing where you think you've dislocated it) and is now freaking out refusing to move it as it hurts too much. We've been here before - she feels virtually no pain ordinarily because of her neuro issues, and so if she does hurt herself at all (and it takes a lot) then it's impossible to tell whether she is grievously injured or imagining it... Her poor coach is boggled. They got ski patrol to have a look, and they are happy it isn't dislocated or obviously broken, so we are going with ibuprofen and keeping her relaxed until they get home (about seven hours time). Then I get to wiggle her about and take her to the hospital if we think it needs it. Gah! Blooming kids!

Enjoy your takeaway! It sounds delicious! Dh is back tonight - he's on the plane now. It's going to be a toss-up who gets home first, Dh or dd2 I think. And then tonight I am supposed to drive into the city for a meeting (three hour round trip) so am hoping it does not snow any more!! The roads are an ice rink this morning, but I guess I need to check out the broken one first, before I make any decisions. I might try and get outside after I drop dd1 at dance in an hour. He dogs need a nice long walk!

NantucketNightbird · 13/03/2016 18:25

Wow sounds like everyone has been busy. Have had a nice weekend here yesterday took the children to soft play then down to the beach. Today youngest had a party then afterwards we went to St David's cathedral then for icecreams. The icecream was rubbish disgusting waste of calories nothing. Avoid the icecream stand opposite crew clothing if you ever go to st David's. I didn't eat even half of mine but still am not having any tea so I can salvage my calorie count for today and weigh in tomorrow.

Mad- hope your DD is ok. Nan, you are very strong, I don't think I could go to bed without my tea! My takeaway was lovely, hoping it wasn't too bad calories wise. I estimated with mfp and looked like it was within today's but we will see.

Rinceoir · 14/03/2016 08:44

Only 1/2lb down today. It's really slowed down the last few weeks so I think I may need to cut my calories a little and see if it makes a difference. I'd like to be dropping 1lb a week at least until I go on holidays in May!

NantucketNightbird · 14/03/2016 10:44

3lb down since last Tuesday so not even a week! I've been very strict this week which is a miracle as DH had a week off work and he's been a fucking pain.

I'm hoping to be 10st 6 by the time I go to butlins on the 25th April. That would make it a full 3st loss with just one stone to go.

Not weighing today - yesterday went sideways after I posted. My friend checked herself out of hospital, picked up her car and did a runner, sending 'last messages' to her dd and I and then turning her phone off. Spent several hours with her husband and distraught dd, liaising with hospital, police etc. she actually then used her bank card so we knew she was at least still alive about an hour and a half from us, and the police caught up with her. In the middle of all that, dd2 got home and I took one look at her and shipped off to A&E (proper broken collar bone, snapped right in the middle with a big gap). Sat in the hospital dealing with suicidal friend by text once the police found her and she turned her phone back on. Surreal. Don't think I can deal with whatever the scales say today! Am at home with dd2 as she is in too much pain for school - I spent last night on her bedroom floor as I couldn't hear her crying because Dh was snoring so loudly. (Jet lag. He got home while I was in the hospital. Sigh.)
I know it's lame to be avoiding the scales. But right now I'm doing well to avoid several loaves of bread in the form of buttery toast lol.
Any ideas how you stop a kid with fluctuating muscle tone from twitching and continually jarring a broken collar bone?... Joy. I might call the paed. Poor mouse.

Well done nan! (And rince, it might not seem like much, but it is all still going in the right direction!)

Stellar67 · 14/03/2016 20:04

Oh that is enough drama for a year mad. I hope your dd feels better soon.
Well done Nan and Rince!
I haven't been great either. Tiredness has been an issue so eating feels like the answer. I have also hurt my knee so jogging is at the wayside. I'll get back. :-)

Stellar67 · 15/03/2016 13:37

1.5lbs off. That'll do me ;-)

Rinceoir · 15/03/2016 13:41

Well done Stellar!

Rinceoir · 16/03/2016 08:10

Sorry stellar, I didn't see your first post- how is your knee? Hopefully it improves after all the hard work you've put in.

Stellar67 · 16/03/2016 08:24

It's okay. But I went out yesterday and it turned back into a walk pretty quickly. Quite upset about it.

Rinceoir · 16/03/2016 08:41

I know it's horrible when you've been working so hard. I tore a meniscus many moons ago and still get pain on that side if I don't look after it. So I do exercises to loosen those muscles which cause problems and strengthen the opposing muscles. I expect it to kick off during the programme and I'll need a physio to unknot things! It flared up when I was training for a half marathon before, and I was devastated but I did manage to get going again and ran the race a few weeks later-slower than I had hoped but I was delighted.

madwomanbackintheattic · 16/03/2016 14:04

Well done stellar!
Ouch on the knee - would a couple of days rest be better than walking? Can you pick up again on Friday? I hate picking up injuries. Ugh.
We're going to try dd2 at school today... Fingers crossed.

Stellar67 · 16/03/2016 16:50

Been resting for a week mad. Meeting a friend tomorrow who knows all about sports injuries so hoping for some help there. Good luck getting dd to school.

Thanks Rince, I feel better know it doesn't have to end. I was actually beginning to enjoy it!

Rinceoir · 18/03/2016 10:17

How's everyone? I've been fairly disciplined this week, hoping for good results. Have a day off today but unfortunately DD is ill again. So a night of no sleep. Have family staying so I dragged myself out for w4r1 couch to 5k while she slept this morning. Hopefully she recovers quickly, I hate seeing her sick so often.

Stellar67 · 18/03/2016 22:51

Hope DD feels better soon Rince.

I'm in pain. I'm seeing a physio next week. Sitting with a heat pad on, which is amazing. I'd been using a hot water bottle/ice pack.

Top tip, when yoga breaks your knee, things are not right.

Rinceoir · 19/03/2016 09:36

Yoga always makes my knee worse- I've got quite lax joints and am too flexible so encouraging flexibility is not helpful! Physio I saw in past told me in no uncertain terms to avoid it! I'm thinking of doing some Pilates do help with my core strength this time though- after a tough pregnancy and emergency section my abdominal muscles are incredibly weak, even 2 years on. Hope physio is helpful, and that nothing further is needed. Been awake most of the night with DD who is slumbering peacefully now in my bed while I'm wide awake. Her temp is finally normal now, was 38-40 all day and up to 6am so hopefully it's broken now.

I'm planning a very quiet day. Need to meal plan for the week ahead now- anyone have any interesting low calorie meals to share?

NantucketNightbird · 19/03/2016 10:06

Hi all, rince sorry to hear dd is unwell. My youngest (3) has got the chicken pox so I have been stuck in going crazy, dd (5) hasn't had it yet and so far no signs I just hope she doesn't get it over Easter.
Stuck to my plan rigidly so hoping it pays off on Monday. May go to Tenby tomorrow if ds is ok and maybe the cinema later. Hope everyone has a great weekend

Rinceoir · 19/03/2016 14:31

Nan I hope your two are OK, it's horrible seeing them miserable. DD seems much better, she ate most of my scrambled eggs for breakfast which must be a good sign. Between DD, DH and myself it's been constant bugs since January, hopefully it's coming to an end.

No running today, just walked a few miles with buggy to convince DD to nap. Fingers crossed she sleeps tonight and is well tomorrow as we have family available to babysit (which is rare as they all live in Ireland).

NYCBadger · 19/03/2016 14:34

I'm in. It will be nice support knowing I won't be alone. Good luck everyone ShamrockHaloStarSmile
