Sorry if stepping on toes. But couldn't see another thread. Anybody want to join me? I guess the idea is that some weeks you loose a bit more and some weeks you gain but aiming for 1lb a week sounds good to me.

Feel better soon Nan. Rince you are doing great. I don't think you need to worry.

I'm tired. I feel like I'm coming down with something but maybe it's just the enforced knee rest!

Welcome banana.

Rinceoir · 29/03/2016 17:56

If you aren't well and can't eat I'd have the Coke to keep me going! Stellar how is your knee? I'm pretty much back on track today, have holidays mid May and I would really like to get some halfway ok outfits to wear, rather than random t shirts/sundresses that fit.

NantucketNightbird · 29/03/2016 18:20

I have a coke zero Smile I walked to the shop to get milk as I've been cooped up and needed the air. Well I get back an seriously the three year old had trashed the place. DH just isn't capable of watching them it feels like I can never go out by myself until they are older.
Diet wise I'm doing good but my sore lips and throat are prevention me from eating much anyway! Will weigh on Monday would love to be 10st 9.

You should treat yourself to some nice bits rince.

Nan I'm sorry you came back to a mess, you definitely need to be able to get out and have some time to yourself. I got out for a run before anyone else got out of bed this morning but I was exhausted and even slower than usual. And danced about to the wii fit with DD this evening. She thinks it's great fun and activity helps her sleep so it's win win.

NantucketNightbird · 29/03/2016 22:09

Oh my lord excuse my post the spellings etc are awful Blush. Sorry for such a grumble he is good DH and excellent with the children he just let's them do as they please. Plus when I'm unwell things seem 100x worse.
On a better note my rain jacket wouldn't do up on me in January and now it's baggy. Anyone else had a NSV?

OP posts:
Rinceoir · 29/03/2016 22:52

Moan away! Well done on baggy raincoat, it's great to see results. I bought trousers in Zara recently which is definitely a NSV for me. And managing to run for over 20minutes when 1 minute nearly killed me 6 weeks ago.

NantucketNightbird · 29/03/2016 23:03

You are inspiring me to want to learn to run. Is it possible to start running when I can't jog right now? I know it will take a while to build up to a jog/run. Will try and check out couch the 5k, and maybe get a treadmill.

OP posts:
Rinceoir · 30/03/2016 07:22

It's definitely possible Nan. The c25k programme isn't easy but it's very doable. I found it tough to run a minute in February but your fitness and confidence builds up fast. I always loved running before though- I find it quite relaxing and feel great afterwards. At the moment I'm planning short runs 3 days per week combined with the awful 30 day shred workout that I've been doing in the evenings. That I'm finding very very tough!

NantucketNightbird · 31/03/2016 07:36

How's it going all? I won't lie it was tough when tesco had reduced all their Easter chocolate to silly prices. But I walked away even though it almost destroyed me Grin.
Still feeling rough but at least dd chicken box was a mild case.

Hope everyone is ok? It's gone so quiet Sad. I'm dreading weigh day on Monday I feel so bloated and bleugh.

Rinceoir · 02/04/2016 21:23

Hi Nan, I'm still here! I'm bloated too, so don't expect to be down on Monday. How's your weekend going? I went for a run this morning but unfortunately my hip hurt so I'm taking a few days off running. Made my meal plan for the week ahead, need to find some new recipes to avoid getting bored.

Havalina1 · 02/04/2016 21:33

I'm here!! I unpacked the weighing scales but the damn things won't switch on Envy I suspect they got damp in the shed loving house. Gah! I am sure I've gained s few pounds but I want to get focused again and 'stop the rot'.

I'll try and get the bloody things going again with a new battery.

NantucketNightbird · 02/04/2016 21:36

I've been stuck in a tomato soup rut this week Confused. My lord did I want to order myself a chow mein tonight but had a ryvita!

Hello Hav! Good to see you back! How are the little ones coping with the move? Nan I seem to make the same few meals all the time so I'm trying to add some new ones. Have discovered my tiny fussy food refusing toddler loves prawns/fish (which she wouldn't touch before) so I'm planning more fish from here on in. She'll probably stop eating it again then of course.

NantucketNightbird · 03/04/2016 08:43

My second child has an eating disorder which can be very hard but the other 3 are pretty good eaters my daughter is vegetarian through choice. I desperately want to be skinny healthy so I need to up it on Monday and really try harder.

Sorry, I've been hitting MFP and trying to work on that.

I've not been good. Not sure how it'll look tomorrow.

Rinceoir · 03/04/2016 15:01

Nan that must be hard. My DD is nearly 2 and has been dropping steadily down the centile charts for the past year or so. She just has a tiny appetite and never sits still. She's in mostly 12-18month sized clothes and looks so small beside the other kids in her nursery group so I do worry.

Stellar I'm on MFP too, I like it as there's no restrictions etc. And the app is pretty good.

NantucketNightbird · 03/04/2016 20:00

It's a worry isn't it rince. To look at ds2 you wouldn't realise anything is wrong he is tall and broad and quite weighty but he is on steroids 3 weeks out of every month pretty much. He has prescription build up shakes which make a difference but my lord is it tough. Balancing his eating disorder, chronic asthma and allergies.

Well we went to swansea today to visit DH smelly grandparents and we went to the museum. It resulted in a trip to taybarns (all you can eat). I was very good compared to when I'm usually faced with those situations plus the food was awful!

Rinceoir · 04/04/2016 07:22

Oh I'm not good with buffets either- usually want to try everything! So I weighed in at 1lb down. Given how horribly bloated I feel I'm surprised to be down at all so I'm very happy.

NantucketNightbird · 04/04/2016 07:50

That's great rince, how much have you lost in total? I'm bloated too I don't think I've lost a pound and that's in almost two weeks. feeling very down. But usually I walk the mile to school and mile home 3 times in a day. Middle two children go on scooters and 3yr old I push on his bike (steering handle). He attends the nursery in the very small school (70 pupils 3-11).

The worst buffet for me is in butlins. Last time we went every morning I ate 3 cheese and onion omelettes which they make fresh for you. 4 slices of jam on toast, 3 croissants with butter and as many custard Danish pastries I could stuff down- that was just breakfast!

Hey Nan, don't feel so down. If you look at how far you've come. It's brilliant. Have you thought about starting to jog a little home? Or speed walking or whatever that's called?

I have lost 1.5lbs. Which is good. I'm pleased.

Rinceoir · 04/04/2016 08:34

Nan I'm sure it's pmt getting you down. There's weeks where we lose lots, weeks where we don't lose much or gain a little but the overall trend is down which is the important thing. I was feeling really bloated yesterday but decided to clear through my wardrobe- took out lots of things that are now too loose, and fit into some of my bigger clothes from before. So I can finally see a difference after 30lbs loss. Have another 2 stone to go and I know they will be slower and harder to drop, so if I'm at my goal by the end of the year I'll be delighted. And 6 miles a day is good going, you could attempt a jog, or do some strength training? I'm finding the 30 day shred tough going but hopefully it's helping.

Going to attempt a short run tomorrow and see if my IT band behaves. I've kept up the 30 day shred and it's been ok so fingers crossed.

NantucketNightbird · 04/04/2016 10:12

Bit the bullet and weighed I'm 3lbs down Smile I'm 3lbs from 3 stone since jan 5th and 8lbs from a healthy BMI and 16lbs from goal.

In regards to the exercise I think I've done pretty well without so far. I do intend to start swimming and I do go to the water park with the children twice a week. We are pretty busy as a family always going to museums, theme parks, zoos, cinema etc every week. I guess for me right now the aim is to be thin and fit into size 10 clothes.

Great going everyone who has lost weight.

Nan you've done amazingly, you'll be at goal in no time. In my opinion exercise doesn't add massive amounts to weight loss, but it's important for general health and fitness obviously- doesn't matter if that's day to day or structured activity. I find it very good for relieving stress too.
