Sorry if stepping on toes. But couldn't see another thread. Anybody want to join me? I guess the idea is that some weeks you loose a bit more and some weeks you gain but aiming for 1lb a week sounds good to me.

My links didn't work sorry! Chilli bake

Havalina1 · 28/02/2016 12:17

Oh wow where have these Fitbits been all my life!! I've obviously just avoided by they sound great Smile going to scoot off now to look online and will probably be back with more questions!

I'm meant to be buying a cooker online zzzzzz I'm sick of this house move!

Rinceoir · 28/02/2016 20:28

Well got started c25k tonight. Now just need the motivation to keep it up- I'll either be going really early or after toddlers bedtime!

NantucketNightbird · 29/02/2016 07:10

Wow that's great rince, how was it? Good luck to anyone weighing today. I'm undecided about weighing today as it hasn't quite been a week or waiting until tomorrow morning.

It went well actually Nan, I used to run a lot and am fairly active at work so I expect it will get harder when the longer run periods start. I weighed in, down a half pound but feeling very bloated, hopefully will see a bigger loss next week

NantucketNightbird · 29/02/2016 09:07

Half a pound is great all going in the right direction. I will be happy with that I'm feeling bloated too, totm soon an hate the build up.

Weighed today 150.8.

I'm hovering there!!

At least not gaining - but must must must get into the 140s.....

I'm eating absolute crap (but too busy to eat too much of it) as we are kitchenless right now and packing against the clock).

Good luck everyone!

Havalina1 · 29/02/2016 11:13

That's good Rinceoir!

I'm itching to start running again too.

madwomanbackintheattic · 29/02/2016 14:30

Oh well done rinceoir! I really should... I have a 5k in May. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak...
And well done both of you for weigh in. Mine wasn't as catastrophic as I feared. A bit up, but still 3lbs lighter than 24th Jan, so I'll take that and truck on after last week!
It's interesting about numbers isn't it? I have 4lbs before I get into the 11s now. I had hoped that I would be there by March 1, but hey ho. I can live with it taking a little longer.

I have noticed a weird phenomenon though (one which I had always suspected by tracking weight before... But now have my %fat scales telling me). I had always noticed that when I started watching my food and exercising, I would get heavier (and I know muscle is heavier than fat, etc etc) - these blooming scales now let me watch it on a literally daily basis. If I am really careful with what I eat, but lazy, the weight drops and the %fat goes up. If I exercise as well, the %fat drops but the weight goes up.

It's, ahem, not very motivating... I mean, I want to decrease my fat, but at what point do I see BOTH weight and % body fat going down???! In reality, the body fat IS more important to me. But I do want to lose weight as well (or at least bulk).

Rinceoir · 29/02/2016 17:26

Hav- well done- keeping steady is good going when you have had no sleep and are moving house! Madwoman, sounds like you'll be back on track in no time. I'm not sure how accurate the body fat percentage scales are. Mine has the function but I can't use it! Callipers probably a better measure of subcutaneous fat.

Stellar67 · 29/02/2016 18:54

Well done all. My weigh in is tomorrow. I'm not feeling too confident as I've been feeling a slight cold.

I've also been doing c25k.
I admit I don't enjoy it. But I have noticed a difference. And I have a 5k route close to me so I would like to manage it once a week.

Mad, don't the % scales confuse you? I had to put mine in the cupboard because I was confused!

NantucketNightbird · 01/03/2016 07:43

Morning all. Well I didn't get to weigh yesterday, and today it is awful outside, I have a st David's concert at 11 and another in the afternoon. I will either weigh Friday or leave it until Monday.
Can you believe it's march already?

Stellar how far into C25K are you? I've completed w1r2 this morning- didn't enjoy getting up at 545 to be out for 6 but enjoyed it once I got out. Aiming to go again Thursday and Saturday, and get 10k steps every day whether I run or not. Which will all go fine until my next 14 hour day/set of nights probably!

Rinceoir · 01/03/2016 08:16

Hello Nan- I would leave it to Monday then most of us are weighing on Mondays again!

Stellar67 · 01/03/2016 11:00

I weighed in today and 1lb off.

Rince I am on week 6, although I'm thinking about doing week 5 again because I don't think I'm ready. I'm meant to be out tonight but I have a chill so I'm thinking of laying low.

Hope everyone is well.

madwomanbackintheattic · 01/03/2016 14:54

I find them (the % thing) bizarrely scientific... and random. I don't think can be that accurate, but the weight up when body fat down thing and vice versa thing really does tally with my experiences not using a body fat scale... I always put on weight every time I start exercising (obviously muscle gaining) -it's just bizarre to see it reflected in that measure too. (I didn't buy them deliberately - it's just one of the features lol!)
In other news, my jeans are more comfortable Grin. I haven't worn them since I had the skin biopsies as the one on my waist and the one in my groin would have rubbed, so it's good to put them on and not feel I am stuffing a pillowcase....

Rinceoir · 01/03/2016 17:32

Stellar you are doing great. I used to love running so I'm hoping that enthusiasm comes back after the first few tough weeks. On the downside I've been starving all day. Bought a little packet of nuts to keep me going, but that leaves me less calories for dinner.

Rinceoir · 01/03/2016 17:33

Mad- my jeans are more comfortable too. I realised this weekend when I was getting down about having lost weight but still wearing the same clothes but then I realised that my jeans do up easily and I've been comfy!

NantucketNightbird · 01/03/2016 20:14

I don't own any jeans/trousers Blush. I would love a pair when I get to a size 10 so maybe Christmas time Smile. I wear tights and dresses or leggings, long vest (well down my thighs) with thin knit jumpers. My thighs and bum are huge in comparison to my top half so I guess I hide it with dresses which flare out past the hips.

OP posts:
Rinceoir · 02/03/2016 17:40

I mostly wear dresses too, for the same reason. I'd love to wear skinny jeans with a floaty top and look good, but even when I was thin that look never suited me- top would be loose on my chest or tight on my hips and disguise my narrowest part while stopping at my widest point.

NantucketNightbird · 02/03/2016 19:01

We sound very similar shape rince, what height are you?

OP posts:
Rinceoir · 02/03/2016 19:09

I'm just under 5ft4.

NantucketNightbird · 02/03/2016 19:20

I'm 5ft 2. It's difficult being so short and plump when I'm meant to be petite. I have size 3 feet!

OP posts:
Rinceoir · 02/03/2016 20:13

I feel the same Nan. My feet are a 4, and I have little hands so also think I should be dainty!

NantucketNightbird · 02/03/2016 20:39

We are dainty rince, just trapped inside these suits right now but slowly making our way out for the big reveal at Christmas Wink
