MFP to lose weight

Emz449 · 30/05/2015 18:31

Hello! I'm starting this thread to make myself accountable and as motivation. I've been using MFP for 16 days now and have lost 6lbs, really enjoying it and finding it so easy to use. I'll be posting weigh ins as and when as I am a frequent weigher! Hopefully the loses will continue Grin I started in Janaury as 14 stone 11lbs Shock but I've become complacent

Starting weight - 14 stone 11lbs
Current weight - 12 stone 5lbs
Goal weight - Currently 10 stone 11lbs but I think that I will aim lower once I reach that

On 1,450 a day with an active lifestyle. Would be great to see other peoples loses and experiences with MFP, annoyed I didn't start it sooner!

Still haven't moved from 12st 4, but looking at the progress chart the pattern seems to be a few days of plateau followed by a small loss, so I am not too disheartened.

jonty I get migraines too, you have my sympathy. The only thing I can stomach during an attack is tea, hobnobs and peanut butter sandwiches! I just don't bother logging my diet on MFP on those days.

Have a good weekend, all. Star to everyone for sticking with it, good luck for your end of August goals!

imustbepatient · 15/08/2015 13:10

Jonny fabulous news on the 2 stone! Congratulations! And J200 I completely agree with Jonty, everyone else will be in spanx!

But I know just how you feel. The rest of my NCT group are more or less back to their pre pregnancy weight. Me on the other hand...

Just think how much we will appreciate it when we finally get to our goal weight / size. Smile

SmillasSenseOfSnow · 16/08/2015 03:40

August is going quite badly so far, weight went up a bit and then has come back down, but IIRC I started at 10 st 13 and I'm down to an amazing 10 st 12.5 now. Confused But at least it is going down now.

The news that is actually exciting is that I'm finally noticing a difference in the fit of my clothes. The skinny jeans I bought in January that fit perfectly and then got a tad tight when I put on more weight now have ripples in them even right after being washed! Which is a shame given they did fit so well, but who cares! Onwards and downwards! Grin

JontyDoggle37 · 16/08/2015 06:52

Smillas having skinny jeans that are loose is a real achievement!
I didn't lose any more weight (in fact scales this morning say I'm a pound heavier boo!) but TOTM is due, and measurements are showing another 1.5 inch loss, so I'm philosophical. Now just need to not put on any weight while on holiday.....????

j200 · 16/08/2015 11:38

I agree with jonty, I would love loose skinny jeans be pleased Grin

Jonty tape measurements don't lie, I'm sure that the water weight will drop off post totm, well done! Where are you going on holiday? I'm going to Croatia on Friday but actually hoping for a weight loss boost as I usually lose weight on holidays because I eat less junk/snacks and love fresh fish/salads plus I also feel ashamed in a swimsuit!!

slithytove · 16/08/2015 14:01

Hiya, I've just read the whole thread, you have all done so well and I feel very inspired! Can I please join?

I have been doing mfp on and off since January and lost 2 stone, but stopped for far too long and lost track, so am back on it with a vengeance.

January I was 15'5
Now I am 12'12 - having lost half a stone since the start of August.

I'd like to lose another 5lbs by the end of August as I have a wedding to go to. And then I want September to be my 11st something month!

Am doing mfp at 1400 cals, 30DS daily, and cardio every other day. The goal is 52lbs in 52 weeks. So I want to thrash it and be 10 stone by Christmas.

HarryLimeFoxtrot · 16/08/2015 14:13

I was pleasantly surprised by my weigh-in today: 9st 2lb. So just another 3lb to go to get to my August target.

However, I'm going on holiday on Tuesday - which may mean that the rest of August doesn't got to plan Wink

SmillasSenseOfSnow · 16/08/2015 14:21

Oh, but if you go up enough sizes and look in enough shops, you will find skinny jeans that fit well! No miracles there! Though they were a pair of H&M jeans that seemed not to belong anywhere and were massively reduced in the sale - they're the first pair of bottoms from H&M that've fitted me at all, so I suspect something went awry at the factory stage and they just happened to fit me because of it. Grin

I will heartily recommend Next's slim and shape (or whatever it is) skinny jeans, in the shops at the moment. I have a pair in size 14 that I'm now going to sorely miss when I'm too small for them, they look great!

Bathsheba3 · 16/08/2015 22:29

Just back from a lovely week in Cornwall and checking in with everyone's news. Huge congrats to everyone. 2 stone loss now Jonty is just amazing. I'm not going on the scales for a week until I hope to have undone some of my damage. No cream teas, but plenty of good food and wine.

Titsalinabumsquash · 17/08/2015 12:33

Good afternoon Smile

Another 3lb down for me after the weekend, which was surprising because I have suddenly got such huge hunger all the darn time, I ate quite a bit more than I normally would, I was genuinely hungry though rather than just grazing for the sake of it. I still kept to just having me meals but having bigger portions.
I assume DD must be taking more from me or something.

I'm so close to my first goal which is the weight that I was when I last left slimming world before I fell pregnant (10st 5) only 2lbs to go! Then I'll be going for the big 10 stone goal! Smile

Bathsheba3 · 17/08/2015 12:46

Hi Tits - that's amazing! Well done you! Keep up the hard work.

May check-out the next jeans Smilla - thanks for top tip.

4 mile jog done this morning. Will fill in MFP religiously from now on. There are 2 weeks left in August. I won't make my goal, but in 14 days I can get well-back on track (esp as I lost a whole stone in June!). Will quit carbs & sugar again. It's the only way I can do it.

j200 · 17/08/2015 13:43

Wow baths a stone in a month?! What did you do to lose that?

Tits you are doing so well, I was always starving breastfeeding, you'll get there really soon no doubt!

I love the slim and shape next jeans too, only ones I'm wearing at the moment!

j200 · 17/08/2015 13:47

Ps glad you had a good holiday too Grin, I'm sure the weight loss stall was worth it!

Emz449 · 17/08/2015 13:54

Glad you had a good break Bath! Well done for jumping straight back into it. Also a big well done was those who have lost and doing well!

My weekend was amazing, however not feeling too great today, not sure if it was something from the BBQ but I doubt it as everyone else is fine and the food was really amazing. But yes a dicky tummy and just feeling ropey.

The food this weekend was incredible. Hm pulled pork and BBQ ribs were some of the best I've had and they made minted lamb kebabs and burgers and sausages. In all honesty I didn't log anything on Saturday and Sunday. It was my boyfriends birthday and I wanted to enjoy myself as he's leaving in a couple of weeks so I want to make the most of our time together when I can see him. The scales showed a 2lb gain, but I'll get that off ASAP and will low carb this week and maybe next week to try and get the best result for August. 6lbs to 10 stone bracket!

Busy couple of weeks though, at a course tomorrow with lunch provided and having to stay in Brighton for a few days with work, so there are challenges but I'm going to try and do the best I can. I want to get out this 11 stone bracket!

Can i bore you with my preparations?

I've decided to go with low carb meals this week and i've bulk cooked some things! Made a massive spanish frittata that is going to be breakfast and lunch for the rest of the week and i've bought pistachios, cheese triangles and decent ham for snacks.

For dinner i've got chicken and veg (cauliflower, broccoli and carrots) so i'm feeling very prepared and on track and i will be for the rest of the week until i visit choccywoccydoodah in Brighton next week Grin

Emz you have already done fantasticly well, its a good idea to change things around a bit...Have you tried the Cauliflower Rice yet? i have a few friends who swear by it now instead of having all the carbs in white rice.

Emz449 · 18/08/2015 20:34

Thanks leesmum, i just want the scales to go down now and into the 10's, it seems like a lifetime ago i was in that weight bracket and i would love to be 10 stone 13 by the 1st September!

OP posts:
leesmum · 19/08/2015 08:39

Morning all, another steady 1lb loss for me again, its going in the right way though but not sure if I'll lose 4lb in 2 weeks Hmm i do love a challenge though, the sun is out here in Manchester Shock so I'm busy washing all the new school uniforms!!

Have a lovely day ladies Smile

Titsalinabumsquash · 19/08/2015 10:06

I'm still staying the same weight wise but my size 10 jeans fit again so I'm happy with that.
I'm hugely unfit though, I just did 8km on my stationary bike and nearly died, it took me over 10 minutes Blush

slithytove · 19/08/2015 20:12

I'm stagnant atm despite 1200 cals and exercise daily. But I'm on my first period since having dd and feel very sluggish and bloated so I'm hoping to see a drop on Monday.

Emz449 · 19/08/2015 20:20

No loss for me today, and doubtful for tomorrow too! There were cakes in the office today and I had two small fairy cakes and a quarter of a sandwich left over and an extra mini chocolate bar I shouldn't have had! So annoyed! I need to get away from the idea that if it's being given away I NEED to have it! It's just irritating me.

13 weigh ins until the 1st September and I really want to make my goal for August and get into the 10's!

I've drawn a line and writing up my meal plans now. No more snacking! Stick to my plan! Make sensible choices when I'm away!

Quick check in to get this thread back on my 'I'm On' list as since the hack and password reset I lost all my thread lists. Still on hols, not going mad but having more than usual, no idea what I weigh although we walked about five miles today so that must count for something!
