MFP to lose weight

Emz449 · 30/05/2015 18:31

Hello! I'm starting this thread to make myself accountable and as motivation. I've been using MFP for 16 days now and have lost 6lbs, really enjoying it and finding it so easy to use. I'll be posting weigh ins as and when as I am a frequent weigher! Hopefully the loses will continue Grin I started in Janaury as 14 stone 11lbs Shock but I've become complacent

Starting weight - 14 stone 11lbs
Current weight - 12 stone 5lbs
Goal weight - Currently 10 stone 11lbs but I think that I will aim lower once I reach that

On 1,450 a day with an active lifestyle. Would be great to see other peoples loses and experiences with MFP, annoyed I didn't start it sooner!

OK here thanks. Just. Doing my best to not get wound-up by pre-teen DD, who broke up a week ago. I am struggling truth be told, but just holding-out for w'end when DH around. I have drunk far too much alcohol this week in desperation, so over my daily cals. But I have been exercising every day to escape but haven't used any cals, so have a bit of slack. Anyone with experience of teenage DD's? Will it always be this bad???

SmillasSenseOfSnow · 17/07/2015 15:28

I went to bed really late and ate 400 cals of 'breakfast' before doing so, so definitely going to struggle today. Sad

Emz449 · 17/07/2015 16:05

I suppose I was that bad teen not too long ago, (massive house party while my parents were away and just trouble) but I would like to say I have turned out lovely Grin and I do regret the way I was and the things I did and love my parents. How old is your DD?

I always went to the pub across the road from work and had two scoops of ice cream, it was amazing! I've adjusted my daily calories to 1400 just for today so that it will end up in the green eventually! I'm blaming my colleague and that Friday feeling entirely

OP posts:
Bathsheba3 · 18/07/2015 10:15

Ice cream - yum! I had my 1st chocolate since May yesterday. Only had 3 bits as had to share with DC's but just as well really

It's the weekend. Will try to be super strong and good

Titsalinabumsquash · 18/07/2015 10:52

I had burritos and churros last night, not great but normally I'd have a large portion of both but had a small portion of each and it was good, I was satisfied and it was tasty and I didn't stuff myself silly, I've woken up feeling like a itch was scratched and I don't feel the need to continue today. Bran flakes and some grapes for breakfast. Smile

I'm not weighing myself at the moment, I've started a new contraceptive pill and it's still settling down, I don't want to depress myself with hormonal weight gain!

SmillasSenseOfSnow · 18/07/2015 15:01

The extra 400 kcals I ate in the early hours of Friday morning before going to bed did indeed come back to bite me on the arse. I decided I needed some McDonalds... only had 9 nuggets and two BBQ sauces, no fries or drink. I think I still ended up under my TDEE (just) so I won't have put on weight from it, which is nice.

I have 70% cocoa chocolate in my fridge which I am occasionally swiping 8-20 g pieces from. One bar is orange flavour and one bar is coffee flavour. O got told off by DP for polishing off 90% of one bar over about 4 days. If he wanted chocolate he should have gone and got himself some from the bloody fridge! Angry

Emz449 · 18/07/2015 18:08

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Last nights meal didn't go as planned but it was amazing. We has 17 tapas between 6 of us and it was all incredible and quite a few drinks. Haven't been able to see the damage this morning but will have a look tomorrow morning and hope for the best! I'm being good today so fingers crossed

Hi ladies, glad I'm not the only one that's been scoffing! Had a big get together yesterday, pizza, donuts, lager and wine (you get the pic) anyway I had a brilliant night but am back on it today, I darent weigh myself so will have to see what Wednesdays weigh in brings.
Anyone else seeing a difference in clothes? My work closes are definitely loser and I can see a change round my waist Smile

Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone and don't worry about going off the rails a bit just enjoy it and move on, take care Smile

Dogseggs · 19/07/2015 11:06

Hi all, good advice leesmum, once in a while it's unavoidable to have a day off counting calories. i bet you enjoyed it too Grin

bath I have two teen DDs, so I feel your pain! Mine are 16 & 19 now, and have turned out as really nice young women, but the years between 12-15 were tough. Have you got anything nice you can do together? Or any relatives you can palm her off onto? Funnily enough mine were delightful to everyone else, just horrible to me and DH.

I have lost another 1lb this week, 12st 6 now. We're off to Croatia next week for hols, and my old summer clothes are starting to fit properly again. No more breathing in.

Emz449 · 19/07/2015 16:01

Well done Dogs! That's brilliant Grin

When I weighed this morning I was 11 stone 13 again. So frustrating, but not surprising. Hopefully it will go quickly, I do feel very bloated from totm so I think that's partly to blame along with Friday night. I've prepared 4 dinners worth of 2 chicken sausages, carrot and swede mash and cauliflower cheese to have Monday to Thursday and have bought enough soup to have at work for lunch. That should keep me on track!

Definitely not going to reach 11 stone 4 by the end of this month but I have 13 more weigh ins to make a difference so will hope for the best. Hoping this gain and bloat goes quickly!

A big ooops here Blush. I call it self-preservation though... relieved to know there is light at the end of the tunnel Doggseggs. At the moment there is just big anguish & a long roller coaster ride ahead I fear. (DD 12, SH'g & other big issues Sad). Taking it all day to day. But rather frightening.

Last night went to Chinese for dinner - lovely that everyone were in the mood, but horrific to think about calories. And today we had a lovely family bike ride for 2+ hours that I definitely wouldn't have managed 6 weeks ago and 1+ stone more to lug around.

Dreading Wednesday's weight-in. Better be super good for next 2 days.

SmillasSenseOfSnow · 20/07/2015 02:04

Ended up going out unexpectedly last night and drank at least three doubles of whisky and ended the night with McDonald's (with a bottle of water rather than a coke or a milkshake, thank goodness!). Have had a blocked nose and felt like I've got the flu and had bruised-feeling skin all over my upper arms and neck and torso all day, and have eaten 2000 kcals. Probably not absorbed all of that though because my stomach is off as well. Hope this is a weird reaction to the alcohol and maybe spending the evening in a grass-filled garden, rather than the second horrible cold I've had in the space of seven weeks. Confused Sad

Emz449 · 20/07/2015 10:16

11 St 12 this morning. Grump. I want to get past 11 St 10 so that I'm in single digits within this stone bracket. I'd like to end this month 11 stone 7lbs, that would be quite nice. I really want to stop going out too or at least drinking so much. Seem to be circling around the same stupid weight because I'm good all week and then drinking at the weekend. It's a viscous circle

Sorry to hear that Bath Flowers it must be tough to deal with.

15st 12.5 this morning - another one who has overindulged over the weekend. Big family bbq on Saturday followed by evening nibbles of mini sausage rolls and cake. Yesterday we had more family over so several jugs of pimms and more cake.......
thankfully this weekend is looking quieter. Dd has a party to go to on Saturday and that's about it. Hope this week whizzes by - only spent 30 mins alone with hubby all weekend!!!

Plan for this week - eat less. Move more. Drink more water.

Titsalinabumsquash · 20/07/2015 11:52

I'm still at 11 stone exactly, I've had a few treats though so I'm not worried, my goal this week is 3 meals a day, no snacking! (I have my sisters hen do meal out on Thursday at an all you can eat Chinese buffet!)

Emz449 · 20/07/2015 11:53

I'm glad I wasn't the only one Grin

Sorry to hear that bath Flowers, that must be horrible to deal with. It's such a difficult age for them, and you.

Another one here who overindulged at the weekend. We have been having a massive clearout of clutter and got overwhelmed with it all, so we ended up swigging beer and eating a massive curry.

Bathsheba3 · 20/07/2015 16:17

LOL - we are all as bad as each other - with such a wide range of excuses!!! Yes Emz - vicious circle as you say. Why on earth does it take the 5 weekdays to loose what goes on in a weekend? Not fair. Thanks for being nice everyone. Much appreciated.

Emz449 · 20/07/2015 19:00

I know! It's so annoying. I'm not sure if this weekend is going to be any better either tbh, going to see the other half! Hmm

OP posts:
Emz449 · 20/07/2015 19:00

Which I am very excited about btw in case that didn't come across!

OP posts:
ColdFeetWarmHeart · 20/07/2015 23:44

Right, I am going to start recording my calories on here everyday as of tomorrow obviously if that is ok with everyone?? I need to be more accountable. I need to get into the habit/routine or whatever of actually sticking to a healthy diet, rather than just having good intentions and starting again on Monday.....

Emz449 · 21/07/2015 09:18

Yes of course, whatever helps you coldfeet Smile

I'm 11 stone 11lbs this morning. One more lb till my pre weekend weight. Might even see a loss before the weekend!

Landed with a bump!

Can I join in. Ive been pootling about since January and if I'd stuck to Mfp I might have lost 26 lbs

However I got fed up of logging in and also had several weeks holidays in that time. I didn't get weighed just guessed 11-7 . I might have been less I don't know. I've been doing 3 months no sugar. So no chocolate , gluten free cake , biscuits , sweets or ice cream. Didn't feel any less.

So, I bit the bullet yesterday and I got weighed. The damage wasn't as bad as I imagined I'm 10-9 and five feet 6 tall.

I'm still a size 14-16 or a vanity size 12 .

I get married in 8 weeks time and my dress fits so no problems there.

Logging back into Mfp OH and I have come to the conclusion that we are having bigger portions than we should. So I'd like to get rid of that spare 9 lbs I'm lugging around which I don't need. I can only have 1200 calories so there's no room for cheating.

Am away for 2.5 weeks on aug 1 so it's not going to be easy.

I've bought a skirtini from bhs size 16 so that flab around my midriff has got to go. Going to do some light exercise even if my old joints do ache.

It's the last push! I probably won't get weighed until we are ready to fly off for our wedding. If I can't do it for this it's never going to happen.
