Hi, I started on 1st Jan at 18st 10lbs and I have so much to lose, it would be lovely to share my journey with others who have over 6 stones to lose.

I know it's going to be a really long slog and I'll need help staying on the straight and narrow. I have to do it this year, no excuses!

So far I have lost 8.4lbs in first 11 days, but that seems tiny when I've got nearly nine stones to lose altogether. My goal is 10st.

Anyone out there? All buddies welcome Grin

Welcome along Gatorade.....this is certainly the place to be if you're ready to lose it once and for all. We're determined to be slim by Christmas and at 17st (I'm currently 17.1) it's doable at just over 2lbs per week.

That's a really good goal! Ok, I'm on board! I was toying with the idea of a weekend in Berlin for my 40th birthday near the end of the year so that would be extra motivation too Smile

MrsPnut · 21/02/2015 07:45

Welcome Gatorade.

Have a nice weekend away Mac.

DH is going into work today, he has some stuff he wants to get finished so dd and I are going to whizz round the supermarket and then maybe chill with some knitting.

Macloveswill · 21/02/2015 08:08

Gatorade....that's brilliant, great to have you aboard. And your 40th in Berlin is a really good incentive to keep you on the straight and narrow.

Mrs...a chilled weekend of knitting sounds preferable as I've woken up with a stinking cold and the thought of going away from the weekend is about the last thing I feel like doing. Confused Oh well better buck myself up and get ready as it's DH's birthday and DD is so excited ....Day Nurse required! Happy knitting!

Just amusing myself on the car journey and spotted this brilliant quote:

"Give up, give in, or give it all you've got!"

So here's to giving it all we've got Grin

Hi, can I join you? I started at 16 stone last spring and got down to 13 1/2 by September, when I decided to relax a bit. I am very happy that I haven't put any weight back on in the past 5-6 months, and am now a mixture of motivated to lose another 2 1/2 stone and complacent because there is a whole world of difference from being a size 22 to a 16-18 ( which I am now). I tried slimming world for a month but it wasn't for me so I'm definitely back on the low carb bandwagon :)

Macloveswill · 21/02/2015 10:38

Welcome to our motivated little thread Yulelog Grin

You've done a great job keeping what you lost off. Getting the rest off is doable by Christmas at about a pound a week or even by the end of the summer if you lose a couple of pounds a week!

I can imagine you feel great though in smaller clothes. I'm just squeezing into an 18, but want to be in a 10 by Christmas.

LCing is definitely the way to go if you have any kind of sweet tooth, I think.

Good luck!

I had two plain hard boiled eggs for breakfast. I hate eggs, practically have to choke them down, but they are very effective for filling me up.

I'm about to work on a meal plan for the week so I am prepared. It's when I don't have enough in for a meal that my sons crisps start to look very tempting. I have some things like bananas and orange juice that I will have to include this week because they came with the shopping and I don't like to throw food away. I also have individual chocolate bars and sweets, and I've put those in biscuit jars so they won't be in my eye line when I'm hungry.

Yuleloglatte · 21/02/2015 12:37

I either buy crisps and sweets that don't appeal ( such as skips!) or keep things in my DH's car so I can't eat them impulsively.

2 eggs with cream and butter, scrambled in the microwave is my standard breakfast. Sometimes with chilli sauce

MrsPnut · 21/02/2015 12:44

I had bacon, mushrooms and a fried egg for breakfast today. I put the bacon and mushrooms in the oven and set the timer for 20 minutes, which gives me time to shower and get dressed.
I've just had some leftover peri peri chicken in lettuce leaves with cucumber, tomato, mayo and some more peri peri sauce.

I have just bought a bag of protein powder though to have shakes for breakfast during the week. I can vary them with peanut butter, blueberries etc until I get sick of them.

I do have hundreds of pepperamis and babybels in for snacking on but as I've got into ketosis properly, I find I don't really need to snack.

Mrsstevejones · 21/02/2015 14:00

Yay new people - waves to everyone! This thread keeps me on an even keel - hubby thinks i am a bit obsessed and hes right!

I had my bpc - full caffeine this morning then went swimming, i only managed about 20 lengths but it felt good to do something. Then i had my green smoothie and took the kids swimming, need to buy another swimsuit as its no fun putting on a wet cold one. Hubby did a spin class, apparently it was easy - git!

Both kids knackered and having a sleep now.

I am popping to town later to buy some glasses - after 5 yrs i am finally over my vanity and fed up of not being able to see. I walked right past a friend again today, bless her she thought i was blanking her.

Just had cauli cheese soup made up of last nights leftovers - yummy.

Good luck everyone and have a fab weekend

GatoradeMeBitch · 21/02/2015 15:33

Sadly DS and I have the same taste in junk food. I'll just have to be strong!

I just watched a couple of videos on this topic, this woman is American but it's the same thing, including the BPC!

And this guy seems to be doing something similar, I may order some Quest protein bars for afternoon snacks

rumgy · 21/02/2015 18:13

Well I enjoyed the huge meze. I had a couple of bits of pitta and a whole bottle of wine Blush otherwise it was all pretty low carb delicious food.
Today has been a struggle as I am a bit tired and hungover. My mind keeps wandering and trying to get me to eat the toast and Nutella ....I am staying strong. I am staying strong ....

Mrsstevejones · 21/02/2015 19:06

Rumgy - stay strong, step away from the sugar and carbs, it isnt worth!

Xmas dress fabulousness is beckoning.

Give in, give up or give it your all -i like that, its going to be my new mantra.

MrsPnut · 21/02/2015 19:38

Rumgy, step away from the carbs, step away from the carbs.
Big drink of water instead!

I am pissed off with myself, I overcooked the crackling from my belly pork and it wasn't too nice. I've been looking forward to that crackling all day. I ate loads of pork though and celeriac dauphinoise.

Mrsstevejones · 22/02/2015 15:14

I am now 13st 12lbs!!!!! Yay. I even managed to resist lunch out when in town today and went home and made salad instead. Hubby keeps saying that he can def see i have lost weight so feeling very pleased today.

B- BPC, 3 rashers of bacon with cheese and mayo
L-Corned beef and cheese salad with spinach and cucumber and mayo
D- will prob be a green smoothie as very full and had lots of protein and dairy today.

Also found some glasses that i like which is a mega achievement.

Keep the faith everyone

GatoradeMeBitch · 22/02/2015 15:36

I've decided to give celeriac another go. I need some kind of carb substitute in my life. Are sweet potatoes low carb enough?

Congrats Mrsstevejones!

Mrsstevejones · 22/02/2015 15:50

I dont eat sweet potato but depends, i would imagine, on what else you have eaten that day and what you serve it with.

I try to keep my carbs as low as i possibly can but once in a while would prob be ok. I think it would also depend on how low you go, with carbs. Some people seem ok with the odd bit of bread or nuts or a bit of fruit, i am all or nothing really.

Cant stand celeriac, let me know how you get on. I usually substitute swede, i did swede roasties last night and they were ok, would have been nicer with some spice or herbs on them - bit soft however not like real roasties.

MrsPnut · 22/02/2015 16:36

I love celeriac, especially as dauphinoise.
Celeriac is much lower in carbs than swede or sweet potato.

I have been for a carvery today with my SIL and niece. I was a slightly carby twat and had some roast parsnips, a Yorkshire pudding and one very small roast potato. I did stay away from the carrots though!

MrsPnut · 22/02/2015 16:37

Congrats on the loss MrsSJ, and well done on resisting lunch out.

Mrsstevejones · 22/02/2015 18:25

Oh i love a roast parsnip. Mrs P thats not too bad, i would struggle to resist as well -hence no lunching out.

I havent had celeriac as dauphinoise, i might have to try that. Off to google a recipe.

Black farer sausages are on offer in co op (our one anyway) 10 for £3 which isnt bad as they are pricey usually. Cooking some now for snacking on.

Mrsstevejones · 23/02/2015 08:09

Morning all, pleased to report that i have magically lost another 3lbs making my weight 13st 8lbs - shocked to say the least, i wont be weighing again in case it sneaks back on!

I have Legs, bums and tums class today followed by a quick swim and a wallow in the hot tub.

Have a good week everyone

MarsdenMarcher · 23/02/2015 17:21

Hello, may I still join this thread please? I've been lurking and you all seem a lovely supportive bunch.

So, I weighed in at 17 stone 2lb on on January 6th. Started cutting down soon after, mainly carbs since that seems to work for so many people, and this morning weighed in at 16st 3lb. So that's all good but I have been here before. A few years ago I did WW and went from 17stone to 14 stone 10lb in about 5 months but then got a bit lazy and slowly but surely the weight all creeped back on again over a couple of years. The main thing, though, is I was just under 10 stone when I got married and never weighed more than 13stone even at my most pregnant (3 DCs) so I'm pretty unforgivably blubbery. And I'm determined to get the excess off - I think I'd be over the moon with an end weight of 12 stone.

Have to say the weight lost so far doesn't show at all, although I feel a bit fitter and can walk further more easily without puffing. I weighed my shopping bags when I got in earlier, having huffed and puffed up the hill with them walking home and they weighed 10lb between them. That was weight I was carrying on me before starting to cut down - so no wonder i was puffed. It was quite inspiring to see and feel the weight lost in the form of food shopping bags actually.

I'm worried though that I'll start to slip as it all gets a bit boring on a diet, so hopefully this thread will help keep me on the straight and narrow. I'm in that dangerous place where after a non strict day ( chocolates and two slices of my son's pizza AFTER my own dinner yesterday) doesn't actually result in any upward change in the scales. It's all too easy to think "Ah what's the point of denying myself food" if I can eat more and not put on weight. (yes, yes, i do know that if I kept eating extra pizza and chocolates then there would eventually be a weight increase....)

So Mrsstevejones, how on earth have you lost 3lb ( I make it 4lb) in ONE day 1st 12 on Sunday, 1st albs today?!!

MarsdenMarcher · 23/02/2015 17:21

Whoops 13st 12lb on Sunday, 13st 8lbs today

Mrsstevejones · 23/02/2015 17:41

Hello Marsden! Welcome. Great losses so far, i have def noticed that i feel not fitter exactly but less under strain if that makes sense. I have tonnes more energy. Its a fab feeling isnt it?

I have no idea how my weight managed to go down so much in such a short space of time - i wont be weighing again in case it was faulty scales!!!
I know on low carbing that weight tends to come off in chunks -something to do with fat cells filling with water, so you get smaller but scales dont change much, then the water is released and whoosh it shows on the scales - or something like that. I lost weight slowly in the beginning, then totm and a little alcohol related blip soi am hoping that it was my body catching up!

I am really trying to see this as a way of life and i will always eat in a similar way, i love the food and i think too many processed carbs are bad. The science is starting to back this up ( i hope they are right!!).

I cant cheat as it gets me out of ketosis and i start getting very hungry all the time and then i struggle to get back on the wagon. After many false starts i have finally learnt my lesson that it just isnt worth it! But good on you that it didnt show on the scales - i love pizza.
