Hiya

I'll kick start this thread off, I joined WW last Friday and have 1 stone and 9lbs to loose. If I loose more all the better. Good luck everybody!

OK, just got back from weigh-in.....3.2 pounds lower! So....I guess it all does work out in the end (last week I lost 3 ounces!). It is Thanksgiving here this week, so it will be difficult and I am cooking everything. But I sure I will get through it.

Ah thanks Dior! I needed that, the "friend" that was going with me didn't show up to the meeting, so I don't know what is going on with her, but to be honest she was a bit negative for me. It does keep me inspired for this week. I am making pumpkin soup instead of pie! The others are getting Pumpkin cheesecake and I am sure they will love it.

Well done sunchowder, at least that makes up for last week (and Happy Thanksgiving).

Ive had a bad couple of days, sure i will not lose this week. Just have to try some damage limitation until thurs and hope i can at least stay the same! Soup for lunch and tea tonight methinks!!

Lost 2.5 lbs and got to 9stone 10 Yah. However this was only initial goal so need to get to 9stone 5lbs I think. I was so chuffed I didn't really listen. Feel so good that any more loss is a bonus now. Had half a blueberry muffin to celebrate. Need to stop thinking of the other half till tomorrow. Got a fertility monitor and a bag as a reward too. Any excuse.

thehairybabysmum · 22/11/2006 16:11

Wow...thats fantastic...hope you bought a lovely bag...well done girl!!

I realised today if i lose 3lbs more i will have got to 10% of original weight so that has kept me going, even though i wont lose that this week!!

SueW · 22/11/2006 23:12

Well done sunchowder and westerngirl

Good luck for your weigh-in Dior. This week's meeting for us was about counting down to Xmas and how it can be useful to swap from No Count to Full Count. I don't usually stay to meetings - a hangover from having only 2 hours to myself whilst DD was in pre-school and deciding it was better to walk for that time than spend it listening to someone talk about dieting! This week however a friend was joining and wanted the end-of-session few mins with leader.

well done westerngirl - and good luck for today Dior, I must say I need to take leaf out of your book and think of other things for treats instead of just food.

I didnt go to my weigh in last night, I had such a bad day at work by time I got home I was so teary eyed and Pd off the first thing I did was opened a beer, which then led to a night of who cares and ate what I wanted! On track today to get back into things.

oh and good luck theairybabysmum 3lbs to go is fab and sure it be off soon.

good luck everyone else

I'm doing quite well, just have little blips now and then. Lost 11 1/2lb since I started but my own scales today say I've put on 1lb - but they dont count 10lb to go to target but like you will feel good getting back into size 12's which hopefully will happen for christmas.

Thanks - it always helps when I manage to come on here and see how well everyone else is doing to keep me motivated.

SueW · 23/11/2006 15:40

Well done Dior That's fantastic.

I too had a bad night Tuesday but put it behind me and started afresh on Wednesday, whilst bearing in mind that instead of being able to save points for the weekend, I need to chip away at the 'debt' that's at the back of my mind.

We have a black tie do this weekend and I think I will feel more comfortable in my fave black dress than I did in Oct when we went out! But it's a five course dinner and I've seen the menu - it's not very WW friendly. Will post it in a minute for advice.

Duck and Green Peppercorn Terrine with toast
*
Chicken in a Champagne Sauce served on bed of smoked bacon and mushrooms
Brussel sprouts tossed in sesame oil and seeds
Medley of Veg
*
Dark Choc Brandy Torte with Warm Cherries
*
Cheeseboard and Port
*
Coffee and Confectionery

Help!!! I can't even make up an allergy as the chefs are people I work with! I'm just going to have to nibble a bit of each course, aren't I?

Sadly no dancing Dior as it is a Murder Mystery evening. The only exercise I'm likely to get is walking to the loo and back!

I'd happily skip the first three courses to enjoy cheese and port. DH doesn't eat pud and no-one ever questions that when he dismisses it when they try to put it in front of him so I'll take a leaf from his book.

Salmon and chips (it is Friday, tradiotional fish and chips day!)

I always think it's a shame that good fish like salmon, mackerel, trout, is so expensive on WW.

I had salmon last night, pretty much this recipe with no seeds and not the mash.

TOnight we are having a ragu sauce from the spoonful of sugar blog but it's been taken down as it has exceeded its bandwidth. She has done WW and points it as 3pts per serving.

Serves 10. Prick and roast an aubergine for 40 mins or so. Allow to cool. Make normal bolognaise i.e.fry 500g beef mince and 500g mince, onions, garlic, some lean bacon. Add grated large courgette, grated large carrot and 2 tbsp chopped fresh basil, 2 tins chopped toms, one tube tomato puree (two if it's the cheap stuff), just over half a bottle of red wine. Peel and roughly chop the aubergine and add it. Grate in some nutmeg. Place the whole lot (in a large casserole) in a low-ish oven for 3-4 hours. Just before serving stir in more fresh basil. Serve with pasta.
