Paul McKenna Can Make Us Thin! Thread Number 14 ~ A Simple Title, for Simple Weight Loss and All amongst Friends!!

Welcome to thread 14 of the Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin weight loss system.

The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded friendly support system are:

  1. Eat what you WANT
  2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
  3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
  4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. After all, eating a meal is not a competition, it's about enjoying what you are putting into your mouth and body, but not feeling bloated and uncomfortable (or guilty) afterwards!
Many people have issues around food. Many of us have been brought up by the 'clear your plate' parents of yesteryear which leave us feeling guilty if we leave even the smallest morsel of food, but we are working through this guilt or any other hang up we may have, and we are learning to leave a bit on the plate; return to it another time if we really want to or even feed it to the dog or the bin!
So!! forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!! Let's get lighter for those summer outfits!!

The Paul McKenna system really works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

You don't have to buy the book and CD, but we have found that they do help and somehow they keep you on track, so it would probably be a good investment and will cost you far less than a couple of trips to WW or SW meetings, so do consider having them in your life.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry and that is a great way to feel when you are dropping dress sizes at the same time!!! so come on in and start living your new life today and make 2014 your year to drop a dress size or several...if we can get those lbs off a few at a time, just think how we could look and feel for the sunny summer time!!!
Some of our thread members are also doing PMK's Virtual Gastric Band and although this thread is not about this avenue, we will still be supportive of our friends partaking of this, so don't think we won't be there for you. I'm pretty sure that the Golden Rules will be just as helpful in this process as the I Can Make You Thin process Smile so get stuck in Smile

Here is a link to Freedom From Emotional Eating which may give some insight into why we do this and help us beat it.

It's FRIIIDAAAYYY - hurrah! Back in the zone, kids in bed, takeaway on order which I'm going to eat slowly and savour every bite - can't wait! Life doesn't get better than this!

yippeekiyay2 · 25/01/2014 09:06

Hi all, so glad it is the weekend as I have been on a downward food spiral all week and mentally feel like the weekend can be a new start!
Solo good to hear you are getting back on track - well done! and NoGood as well - you are all making me very embarrassed for being a bit rubbish! Blush
So I listened to the FFEE trance last night and this morning have been up a couple of hours and checking my hunger scale - I believe I am at 4 getting to 3 so will be eating soon - just can't decide what I want!
Hopefully if I have a good couple of days I can go into work next week positive and this weekend I am also going shopping to buy foods that I WANT to eat...will be a challenge as I have basically conditioned myself over the years to buy diet foods but I will try my best!
Yesterday morning everyone at work was talking about the 5:2 diet as a few of the women at work are following it - and have lost weight - but it just sounds like a punishment to me starving myself for half the week to binge on other (hmm, sounds like most diets when you boil it down really!Hmm)Anyway, best go and organise some breakfast - feeling hungry!!

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 25/01/2014 09:20

Had a good day yesterday!

NoGoodAtWittyNames · 25/01/2014 12:51

That's fab doc!

Yippee no need to be embarrassed, yesterday was the 1st day in ages that I've been on it. Hope you enjoyed breakfast and now have a cupboard full of delicious goodies! Diet foods are just full of crap, so your body will definitely thank you for it. 5:2 sounds like hell on earth, although interestingly I find when I'm 100% Pauling I naturally follow that way of eating, with some days eating considerably less than others, but I know if I tried to purposefully follow it, I'd just go to pot!

Solo · 26/01/2014 02:11

I need a thumbs up emoticon :) well done everyone!

Been an okish day here.

Sounds like everyone's doing well and back on track Smile. Last few days for me have been bad food-wise. Not been listening to the trance so only have myself to blame.

Today is a new day and new start. My FFEE book came on Friday so when dd is napping today will spend some time reading it. Hopefully it'll help a little bit.

Have a great Sunday everyone! Grin

yippeekiyay2 · 26/01/2014 09:16

Morning all! Well, ended up not being a good start for me yesterday, bit mad with myself but I am feeling more positive today for a few reasons: Firstly had a long nap yesterday afternoon and another good nights sleep last night and dd didn't get up at crack of dawn so feeling a bit more refreshed and less sleep deprived than normal.
Secondly, I went on WW site this morning and CANCELLED the membership that had been lurking in the background Grin. It was on a 3 month thing so I had to keep it for a while but finally got around to cancelling from when the trial period ends.
And I have also had a chat with hubby and agreed on 3 slots in the week where I will go to the gym, so I feel a bit more ordered and like I will be able to start that properly again.
Managed to get a few nice things for eating at the shop but had dd with us so was a bit rushed so going out on my own today and will try and think of things I would like to eat!

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 26/01/2014 09:26

Hi yippee

Sleep is massively important for me in keeping eating and stress on a good level so hope all goes well for you today. On Friday I finally decided what to do with my gym slots (sometimes I dither about what to do and end up doing nothing - thank you self sabotage!!) and it feels like that's one thing put to bed and dealt with.

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 27/01/2014 07:29

The app has been updated so now I can access the hypnotic trance whenever. Grin

Excellent TheDoc :)

It's good, I did it this morning instead of last night (DH gets up at 0500, so it wakes me briefly and then I used it to get back to sleep)

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 28/01/2014 14:06

Help, just messed up in a very minor way and want to eat! Ate one rice cake and now having a coffee but the urge is still there.

Solo · 28/01/2014 14:36

Hot chocolate

OP posts:
TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 28/01/2014 14:47

Thanks, Solo. I have calmed down a bit (helps just to post and name it before starting a 'eat til the felling goes away' jag) but have another couple of call coming up so may reach for the hot chocolate after that if they are stressful!

Have ordered my copy of FEEE and it's on its way.

BlodynRose · 28/01/2014 14:55

Did you want a rice cake?..... do you really love rice cakes?.,If I were having coffee and was hungry for something with my coffee I would have had chocolate cake biscuit or Bendicks mint. Just wondered about tge diety rice cake? Eating that instead of something yummy would have sent me off in a spiral of compensatory eating.Smile

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 28/01/2014 15:37

No, I ate it because it was in my drawer and I wanted to feel better - I wasn't hungry at all.

Still, I stopped at 1 and noticed what I was doing so that is good!

NoGoodAtWittyNames · 28/01/2014 16:03

Tapping is good for beating cravings doc if the urge strikes again, but well done for stopping at 1 Grin

Solo · 28/01/2014 16:05

Yes, well done at stopping at one TheDoc :)

OP posts:
BlodynRose · 28/01/2014 17:52

Doc why don't you keep the snacks you like in your drawer out of curiosity? If you are feeling the urge to overeat and binge could it be that you are not completely immersing yourself in this woe?

Solo · 28/01/2014 17:55

You seem to be in the know Rose are you a returnee or a name changer or joining us on our journey? :) or have I lost the plot?

OP posts:
TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 28/01/2014 17:59

Yep, I am not the best Paulette, my mind is often racing during the hypnosis.

The rice cakes were there cause I bought some at lunchtime and then didn't need them - I don't mind them, they are tasty enough but I don't usually have snacks in my drawer (there is always fruit at work)

BlodynRose · 28/01/2014 18:00

Im Rules by the way.
I have lost 8lbs since New Year by being much more focused with regard to hunger etc. Im aiming for a pound a week now and anything else will be a bonus.

BlodynRose · 28/01/2014 18:02

Sorry Doc don't mean to be investigating you but have you bought all the foods you love and are you eating them when you are hungry?

BlodynRose · 28/01/2014 18:03

Just that rice cakes would not be something I would buy given the delicious choice of foods out there Smile

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 28/01/2014 18:05

I WOH so I go out to buy lunch, I did wait until I was hungry for lunch and then have a good think about what I wanted to eat.
