Paul McKenna Can Make Us Thin! Thread Number 14 ~ A Simple Title, for Simple Weight Loss and All amongst Friends!!

Welcome to thread 14 of the Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin weight loss system.

The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded friendly support system are:

  1. Eat what you WANT
  2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
  3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
  4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. After all, eating a meal is not a competition, it's about enjoying what you are putting into your mouth and body, but not feeling bloated and uncomfortable (or guilty) afterwards!
Many people have issues around food. Many of us have been brought up by the 'clear your plate' parents of yesteryear which leave us feeling guilty if we leave even the smallest morsel of food, but we are working through this guilt or any other hang up we may have, and we are learning to leave a bit on the plate; return to it another time if we really want to or even feed it to the dog or the bin!
So!! forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!! Let's get lighter for those summer outfits!!

The Paul McKenna system really works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

You don't have to buy the book and CD, but we have found that they do help and somehow they keep you on track, so it would probably be a good investment and will cost you far less than a couple of trips to WW or SW meetings, so do consider having them in your life.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry and that is a great way to feel when you are dropping dress sizes at the same time!!! so come on in and start living your new life today and make 2014 your year to drop a dress size or several...if we can get those lbs off a few at a time, just think how we could look and feel for the sunny summer time!!!
Some of our thread members are also doing PMK's Virtual Gastric Band and although this thread is not about this avenue, we will still be supportive of our friends partaking of this, so don't think we won't be there for you. I'm pretty sure that the Golden Rules will be just as helpful in this process as the I Can Make You Thin process Smile so get stuck in Smile

Here is a link to Freedom From Emotional Eating which may give some insight into why we do this and help us beat it.

Oh yes, I remember that now! Wink

The first Captain America was quite good....I am still resisting kid's tv for now. We mostly have the radio on but I know it's coming! My Dad is coming to baby sit in a minute so I can run again. Motivated, that's me! Grin

Thanks bigboobiedbertha. 3 meals a day (+ snacks!) is going to be a tough habit to budge.

msrisotto - if your body needs 3 meals a day and snacks that is absolutely fine. Just so long as you are hungry when you eat and you stop when you have had enough to stop feeling hungry. That's the fab thing - you could in theory live off a diet of chocolate ice cream, or chips, or whatever is your weakness, if that is what you wanted, and you would still lose weight because by following your body's signals you would never overeat and most likely you would eat a lot less.

Of course that probably isn't healthy but in reality if you allowed yourself to eat chocolate ice cream or whatever every time you were hungry and you fancied it, you would get sick of it very quickly, it would no longer what you really wanted to eat and you would chose a more balance diet because that is what you felt like eating.

But you are right, the reason we are still on this thread and not sashaying around in our size 10 jeans looking fabulous is because habits are hard to break and although the 4 rules should be something we do unconsciously, it takes months to get to that point and you do have to think what you are eating even if you don't deny yourself anything you want, within the rules.

Faith -Captain America was loud, explosive with lots of comic style violence. Needless to say the DC loved it. I had no idea what was going on a lot of the time but just about understood who were the goodies and the baddies. It was just as well Captain America himself was so easy on the eye. Seeing a physique like that does tend to make me think about my own less than perfect physique and how I really should do something about improving it - it is amazing what some people do with their bodies - but that feeling tends to go when the lights go up at the end of the film.

Still for a couple of hours there, I was really quite motivated! Grin

Morning all! Well Faithlet is officially one! We had a mad couple of days but it's been lovely. Not too many noisy toys either! I have eaten too much but back on it as of now. I stopped breast feeding yesterday too I'm wondering if that will make a difference to weight loss (it certainly wasn't the magic weight loss thing some people said it would be!).

How is everyone else?

Happy birthday Faithlet! Sounds like you all have fun.

The end of bf is sad, I know. Was it your choice for was it forced upon you? Not that it makes much difference. It is sad either way. My two let it be known they just weren't that interested any more so I had no say in the matter but I suppose they did me a favour because I was having trouble making the decision to stop by myself. Enjoy the freedom though. I liked getting some of that back despite the loss of bfing. Smile

I didn't lose any weight when bf either. I've might have said before on here I think (so sorry for being boring if I have Grin) that I lost all my pregnancy weight within 2 weeks of giving birth. I didn't put much on even though I was fine (no HG or anything) and I wasn't particularly over weight to start with so I guess I was lucky. Unfortunately, I did find that I started to put on weight the minute I stopped bfing though. Where I am now started with the end of bfing. I suppose it had been allowing me to eat pretty much what I wanted but I hadn't noticed because my weight was stable. My mistake was that I didn't adjust my appetite or habits to take into that into account.

You are much more aware than I am and hopefully PMcKing will keep the 'eat anything, anytime' feelings in place. You are running too which has to help. You can totally reclaim your body now and do exactly what you need to do. Smile

It was my choice. We've been down to one feed a day for quite a while and she didn't really seem fussed with it any more. I'd like to wear nice undies again, take antihistamines and maybe drink a bit more! I'm proud to have got to a year though. I lost all my baby weight quickly but then gained half a stone for for eating so much when initially BF and sleep deprivation!

Hi all x I lost nearly stone on Paul McKenna and it was all going really well. Then I hit a bit of a tough patch and started eating emotionally again. Just came back from holiday and hated feeling fat again. Back on it today. Interesting to read about night owls and breakfast. I am a total night owl and rarely feel hungry in the morning!

Well done Bemused. A stone is a great weight loss. The rules obviously work!! You'll get back into the grove now your hols are over I am sure. You know you can do it. Smile

Solo - still here, wondering when I am going to get properly back into gear. I am beginning to feel the effects of the weight these days. It isn't so easy to deal with as you get older. I really need to do something but my head is full of other stuff that I am just not paying it enough attention. How are you doing?

Faith - are you enjoying your freedom this week? Smile

Where is Milly these days? Has anybody heard from her?

Hi all! Hope Easter has been lovely for you all...:)

Well, I did lose half a stone, but then the Easter bunny came...! funny thing is that I am not bought Easter eggs and nor do I buy them other than a Creme Egg each for the Dc's! but one of my friends gave me one Shock for the first time in our 28 year friendship! and we have been best buddies for years too! our friendship is less now than ever, but she gave me an egg! very odd.
Dd also seemed to get a lot this year (people in the high street (selling God)/veg stalls etc) and has kindly Hmm shared with me! big lunch yesterday ~ though smaller than usual and I'm sure the weight has gone back on...
Needing to focus. Throwing a party in July as a belated 50th, so would like to be a stone+ lighter.

Haven't heard from Milly. Will try to PM her.

Hi Solo, love your Easter name.Smile

Congratulations on the half stone! I doubt one Easter egg will ruin all your good work. There simply aren't enough calories in it ( if we were to commit such a heinous crime and think about that sort of thing Wink). And eating a big meal won't either - especially if it isn't really that big. You'll be fine and you'll meet your target too. You have loads of time.

Wish I had been as successful. I need to be more mindful but I have some much going on that I am not giving eating the head space it needs and deserves.

Hello all.

bemused that's a great start!

I am not doing so well. I'm not well. Very odd symptoms - shivers, muscle aches, random vomiting. Will be POAS at some point but don't think its that. I'm feeling quite low and comfort eating Confused I really need to do the havening.

Millie if you're lurking, hello.

Oh I heard from kinkydorito recently. She's doing ok, they're adjusting to life after chemo :)

BigBoobiedBertha · 24/04/2014 12:34

Faith - sorry to hear that you aren't well. That sounds pretty crappy. You d don't have a particularly hot face do you? I was reading a thread about symptoms similar to yours but where everybody has flaming hot cheeks. Weird.

Is there a possibility that you might actually need to POAS? The sickness could be completely separate from the other symptoms I suppose if you feel it is a bit random. It doesn't sound like you are off your food completely if you are comforting eating too. Well, if you decide to POAS, I hope you get the result you want! Smile

Either way, whatever if causing it, I hope you feel better soon. Be kind to yourself.

Thanks BBB. I have been to the GP. He reckons it's a combo of viral labyrinthitis and acid reflux. I have anti-sickness meds and something for the reflux. He checked and I'm not up the duff. Quite relieved really!

Another baby would not be a disaster by any means. It's just that I want to be out of the obese category next time! I feel I'm just getting my body back now I've stopped BF and don't want to get pregnant straight away. The meds are helping so hopefully I'll be ok soon. Thanks :)

No Faith, if you have your body I am sure you'll want to enjoy it for a bit. I know what you mean. It isn't like that I didn't like bfing but ultimately it is my body and it was nice to have a break and to do what I wanted without thought, like wearing perfume or just going out in the evening without worrying when I had to be back.

Plenty of time for another baby. Nice if one arrived without the worry of trying but nice if you can make the decision too.

Report
BigBoobiedBertha · 25/04/2014 09:43

Of course it isn't much fun if said body won't behave - hope the meds are working and you feel a bit better this morning.
