And anyone else who wants to join in. The idea of this thread is a way to record weightloss, motivate each other, discuss which methods if any we are using to lose weight and give the occasional kick up the bum.

Right you lot. I was going to wait until new year to start this thread but I think that if I'm going to have my head in the right place to start, I need your help now. I haven't weighed yet I'll do that on the 1st but I think I probably have 2 1/2 stone to lose. Last time I had 3st to lose so I'm seeing that as a postitive.

So, are any of you still out there? Who'd like to join me? Xmas Grin

Thanks IMST I'm not so convinced though. There are about 8 parts to each level and I'm on the borderline to even making it to level 4. Hope you feel better soon. It's miserable when you have a bug that goes on and on.

KatoPotato · 21/03/2014 13:48

Hello! Sorry, I'm back in the land of the living, and finally fighting fit. As for the last week I'd done no exercise or logged any food, so was frightened to weigh today.

But It's a nice surprise, back to 141.2lbs this morning which was very unexpected. Feeling motivated today and am going to attempt ParkRun tomorrow morning! Got my 5k time to roughly 35mins which is still pants, but that's constant jogging, so not the worst.

Reastie, beep tests are BRUTAL! it's a particular kind of fit you have to be to excel at them, so please don't be disheartened!

Will catch up more of the thread!

Reastie · 21/03/2014 15:02

reporting back from post bleep test. Proud to announce I ended out getting into level 8's (which I think makes me 'good') and the second woman left standing (only lady to beat me was in the PE department so never stood a chance!). Feeling really quite proud of myself and the students were actually really nice, cheering everyone on.

However, in bad news, it looks like I may have put on over 1 lb in the past week Confused Sad

InMySpareTime · 21/03/2014 16:33

Well done ReastieGrin. I knew you could do it! As for the 1lb, with all that bleeping it could be muscle mass, are your clothes feeling looser? Weight loss is only one aspect, getting toned and improving muscle/fat ratio is important too.

Reastie · 21/03/2014 16:54

Erm, don't think I can use that excuse IMST as my scales do body fat/muscle etc too and I've gained no muscle. It has been sneaking up on me for a little while and although I haven't been naughty food wise apart from chocolate I can see I've been increasing portions a bit and eating a few more snacks (healthy ones, but it all adds up). I've stepped up my workout program so put it down to using up more calories but obviously eating more than I'm using on that front. Hopefully my school will put up on (hopefully not too unflattering) pictures of bleep test event on their website so may share with you all (and bore you with them).

Kato glad you're feeling better again btw and yay to being back on track weight wise

Reastie · 24/03/2014 14:16

Hhhhhhheeeellllllooooooooooo

Where is everyone? Don't let it be just me on here!

It's a Monday, that's motivation day. New week, new start, no excuses.

OK here, STS. OK, 1/2 lb on from my weigh in weight, but that's better than the 1.5 lb weight gain it looked like I'd have. Still riding high from sports relief fit test on Friday. Have a team piccie taken I may try to pop on the SS pictures page just for prosperity. I could have never imagined doing it 2 years or even a year ago and feel really proud of myself.

Took DD out for a walk with friends this morning, which was essentially me pushing her in a buggy as she was too lazy to walk, so all that pushing on rough paths has given me a very mini workout, or at least used up some cals.

Kato how's the blog? Keep meaning to check it out again.

InMySpareTime · 24/03/2014 14:48

I'm about, haven't weighed though.

ifandwhen · 25/03/2014 13:02

Sorry Reastie - am here, just have a looming deadline and trying not to get distracted. Didn't weigh yesterday, but am feeling motivated and on the ball. Sounds like you did great on the beep test - well done you!
Right, better get back to work - will check in again later...

Reastie · 31/03/2014 14:32

Well, I'm still here.....

hair where are you?

Weigh in today, another maintain (just).

Am having fun with Katos fitbit. Yesterday was my first full day wearing it and I did over 7000 steps. Finding the sleep analysis it does very interesting.

InMySpareTime · 31/03/2014 14:41

I'm here too, bracing myself for the eternal Easter Holidays (DS breaks up on Thurs 3rd, DD goes back on Mon 28th, between them that's April gone!)
Someone I don't see often came up to me on Sat and said "Wow! You're looking trimSmile"
That cheered me up no end!

Reastie · 31/03/2014 18:16

IMST that's great. DD has broken up for Easter already but I don't break up until Friday.

I have to admit I'm really struggling for motivation at the minute. Am managing to do my workouts 3 - 4 times a week and generally eating OK meals, but my portions are slowly increasing and I'm eating more junky snacks. It's been getting worse for a month or so and I really need to knock it on its head Confused . I just feel like my willpower has dipped.

ifandwhen · 08/04/2014 18:40

Right then, who's up for getting back to Motivational business?

I've been bogged down with work and other stuff, but right now the sun is shining, birds are singing and I really, really need to lose another 6-10 lbs asap in order to fit into the clothes I'd like to fit into.

So am filled with renewed Motivational zeal Smile. I even crawled back to mfp today. Looking on there, I lost 6lb in Jan/Feb and have just about maintained whilst basically dossing about in March so its all good really, just need to get a move on and get back on the case. If so, its entirely possible that I could be gadding about in flattering summery attire by end of May - as of now that is my goal.

Hoping to find some of you still out there...

InMySpareTime · 08/04/2014 18:46

I'm still aboutSmile.
I got Runkeeper on my iPod, so I've been feeling over all my stats this week.
I found out I walk really fast (about 4.7mph) and my "little errands" during the day often involve walks of several miles.
I went for a bit of a cycle on Thursday that turned out to be 16 miles.
That must be how I got away with all that cake all those years...

Reastie · 08/04/2014 19:32

Hellooooooo!

I'm still here. Struggling ATM tbh. May have put on a lb or so in the past month and can really see my body isn't as toned as when I was working out all the time. I think my workout dvds may be losing their effectiveness as I've been doing the same ones for months, so I've just bought T25. Did first one today. My hope is to move between t25, insanity, and insanity asylum programs, and then at least I'm always switching it every few months so hopefully will keep me on my toes.

Struggling this week. Had my first ever migraine late last week (nasty) and then funny fainty turn yesterday morning. I feel done in and exhausted Confused .

ifandwhen · 08/04/2014 20:12

hi you two - glad you're around. Sorry to hear you feeling done in Reastie - we need you! IMST - that's interesting, I like to think I'm fairly active in an unintentional kind of way, hopefully if I can build that up it will help... sounds like a good cycle! Cake + enjoyable exercise sounds good to me if they balance out Smile!

Reastie · 16/04/2014 12:30

where is everyone?

InMySpareTime · 16/04/2014 12:32

Child wrangling!
Had a houseful for what seems like forever...

Reastie · 16/04/2014 15:01

Oh yes, everyone must be busy with the holidays. IMST I saw your picture on your SSL fb page of the garden assault course - looks great fun. Sadly mine isn't old enough to entertain herself so very tired here. How is Hair ?

Still continuing to put on weight Confused . No major changes at all in diet recently but past month I've been slowly gaining. Did arms and abs workout yesterday and legs today.

InMySpareTime · 16/04/2014 16:09

Perhaps your portion sizes are creeping up, or an extra couple of glasses of wine? It's easily done, but once noticed it's just as easy to stamp on before habits become entrenched.
The assault course was brilliant, they got a good couple of hours play out of it, which is good considering DS had his friends round for a sleepover last night, so they had about 4 hours sleep!
They're watching a film now, I took the opportunity to have a bath before we have friends round tonight.
Term time again soon...

Reastie · 16/04/2014 19:13

Yes I think that's what it is IMST . I must be more careful with portions. I'm doing better with chocolate ATM though but still struggle with hunger and IBS when I don't eat. My arms and legs have really ached in a good way this past week from my new workouts, like they always used to when I first started insanity, so hopefully this will show me some difference by mixing up my workouts.

Happy Easter everyone. Come on though, how many Easter eggs have you eaten today? Yesterday was a very bad day diet wise. Meringue roulade was involved. Today a bit better although had about 5 mini eggs but done an hours workout. Needed to get back on track after yesterday.

InMySpareTime · 20/04/2014 16:54

I had a Lindor chocolate this morning and a slice of cake this afternoon (the cake was the "treasure" at the end of DD's treasure hunt, she set it up with rhyming clues and everything!)
I didn't get any Easter eggs so it was easy not to eat anyGrin.

Reastie · 20/04/2014 18:14

Love the rhyming clues IMST, wonder who she's taking after with the writing Wink . How did your 11+ writing go btw? I was given 2 boxes of chocolates rather than eggs, which is good as hopefully I'll ration myself better as once you crack open an egg you can't help but keep eating it Grin . Just had one and a half chocolates from my hotel chocolat box, that's my chocolate intake for the day. I only had a random half as I ate half of it and didn't really like it so rather than eat the other half anyway (which I would have previously done) lucky DH got to eat my nibbled one! Dsis is looking after DD tomorrow morning fingers crossed so time for a circuit and arms workout before back to work on Tuesday.

InMySpareTime · 20/04/2014 18:29

11+ writing was good, they loved the two stories I sent and paid me for them straight away, no changes necessaryGrin.
DS back at school on Tuesday, just DD home this week, so I might actually get some work done finallyConfused will the Easter Holidays ever end?!
I was thinking today how much my habits have changed since before the weight loss.
Time was I'd have eaten the whole box of Lindor once it was open, and the cake the DCs made (which lasted almost a week in the fridge) would have been an afternoon snack.
It seemed like such an impossible task at the time, but my attitude to food has changed for good now. I think and eat like a thin person.
Someone came up to me after church last week and said "I didn't think thin people ate biscuitsHmm"
I think it was supposed to be a compliment, I replied "thin people eat fewer biscuits, I'm having one because I fancied one"
