And anyone else who wants to join in. The idea of this thread is a way to record weightloss, motivate each other, discuss which methods if any we are using to lose weight and give the occasional kick up the bum.

Right you lot. I was going to wait until new year to start this thread but I think that if I'm going to have my head in the right place to start, I need your help now. I haven't weighed yet I'll do that on the 1st but I think I probably have 2 1/2 stone to lose. Last time I had 3st to lose so I'm seeing that as a postitive.

So, are any of you still out there? Who'd like to join me? Xmas Grin

Oops sorry ashamed. I can see the confusion. On the last threads to keep moral and motivation going we started naming the days. MotivationalMonday seemed to stick as some of us fell off the wagon at the weekends and needed a kick on a Monday.

I'm starting in earnest on Monday too so don't feel bad.

ToeFluff you know the rules, one night off does not a failure make and if you've been really good today you'll have made up for it.

ToeFluff · 03/01/2014 21:52

Well I wish I thought of it like that, I just figured as it was new year it was better to start then... Guess it doesn't matter when we start- as long as we actually do!! Smile

ToeFluff · 03/01/2014 21:52

...at some point!

ashamedoverthinker · 03/01/2014 21:57

ToeFluff · 03/01/2014 22:09

Lol beats my blackcurrent squash!

TheOneWithTheHair · 03/01/2014 22:18

My thing to finish is chocolate. Usually nobody buys me chocolate for Christmas but this year I ended up with three lots. Hmm

I need to finish them as I can't throw them away and I can never have just one. No will power

OP posts:
ashamedoverthinker · 03/01/2014 22:21

Oo toe I had squash as a treat over Christmas. We went water only after a visit to the dentist earlier in the year. But the squash has gone now.

ToeFluff · 03/01/2014 22:24

Yes I'm all or nothing when it comes to chocolate too, if I don't have any at all I'm alright but I'd never be able to have 1 smartie or 1 row of galaxy and I can't decide if I'm ashamed or proud of my Terry's chocolate orange record! Grin

ToeFluff · 03/01/2014 22:29

I think we'd be alright at water only in our house but the water tastes vile here and even with a brita (sp?) filter it's tangy, my mother refuses to even have a cup of tea at mine the snob!

TheOneWithTheHair · 03/01/2014 22:42

I'm a water snob too. Blush Ours is the best and tastiest in the country. It comes from the Lake District so we're very lucky.

What's you chocolate orange record then ToeFluff? Spill! Grin

OP posts:
ReastieYuleANBU · 04/01/2014 08:00

I'm with you all on the chocolate front. I've got loads this christmas and just want them gone so as not to tempt me. toe you're going to have to tell more on this chocolate orange record Grin

Another water snob here, when I go on holiday in the UK I actually often buy bottled water as the tap water always tastes weird, even in tea. DH thinks I'm mad but it does taste funny. But then, my tastes are probably gone forever as we have thames water which you'd think would be awful and chemically Hmm . Maybe I'm just used to it.

Massage was amazing, I've got another voucher for christmas so I've booked another for next week :)

StealthPolarBear · 04/01/2014 08:03

HEre miss!
Happy New Year all :o
Will catch up on the thread in a minute.
Today is my start day and I am actually pleased. I have been bingeing and hating it but lacking the motivation to do anything about it.
I also feel grotty and have since the start of December - can't bring myself to shred :(

ToeFluff · 04/01/2014 09:09

I'm not sure what's changed but I am totally feeling motivated and raring to go! Yesterday I was good but I still craved junk and felt poo. But I'm hoping it sticks as I feel like I've turned a corner!

Lol nope I'm not going to tell you all about my chocolate orange record, it wasn't pretty let's just leave it at that! Grin

Welcome back Stealth and eighty.

I don't know if anyone is interested but I still see InMySpareTime in real life. She's managed to maintain her loss and is still tiny.

For anyone who doesn't know, InMySpareTime was on the old threads and a friend of mine in rl. She lost a massive 4.5 stone using the threads and MyFitnessPal. She's kept it off and people now put her in the tiny catagory.

Glad you enjoyed the massage reastie, good treat.

Today has been shit already. Ds2 overslept for the first time ever in his 5 years. I hope he's not getting ill. He is my alarm at the weekends so I was late getting dd to piano, ds1 will be late for work and dh just rang me because he spied a party invitation on the wall for ds2 that I'd forgotten to tell him about in the rush so he's running around getting ready so ds2 isn't late either!

On the plus side I haven't snacked yet today! Grin

4.5st, that's amazing! Tell her we all say well done- I'm envious!

Oh dear that does sound hectic, mine has been the complete opposite, the weather is awful, everyone is busy and there is nothing to do! Hmm Normally I love days like these but I've just had a week of them over Xmas! I'm sick of staying in! Plus side my 4 year old was sat on my feet helping me to attempt sit ups (I managed 2)

I'm following slimming word for a few weeks to see how it goes, got homemade burger and chips for dinner! Yum yum! I'm slightly excited! X

ReastieYuleANBU · 04/01/2014 12:41

IMST has had her book published now from what I gather on her fb page hasn't she Hair ? Please say hello to her from me. Did you 2 know each other before MM or meet each other through it?

Hello hello steath and 80

Am hiding and missing my exercise for today as ache after the massage yesterday. No chocolate has been consumed yet though. Weather is so awful here have been inside cleaning all morning . We are off out this afternoon on a family trip to buy a new house plant for the dining room after our last one died so the pot looks all feeble with nothing in it. Gosh I live the high life Grin

TheOneWithTheHair · 04/01/2014 12:50

reastie make sure it's a bargainous house plant!

Yes her book is published. She has two now. She lives opposite me and her dd and mine are close friends. They were in the same class until this year so we walked to school together.

She was on mnet way before me and when I found the site I was so amazed by it I told her all about it. I was most put out that I couldn't share this brilliant new thing I'd found. Grin

Well, no snacking here either but no exercise either. I can join you in the interesting life stakes as I have a two foot pile of ironing to do.

I'm starting on Monday, can I join?

I have a formal dinner in about 8 weeks as my first goal. I got to a healthy BMI about 4 years ago with ww, but have let it all slip away. After putting on a few pounds over Christmas I'm scared to step on the scales because I think I'll be the heaviest I've been for a while.

I was about 12 st 9 just before Christmas. I want to eventually get down to 11 st 1 as that leaves me a size 12 to 14 and I like how I look at that size.

My plan is to go back to what I was doing before.... no breakfast (not a meal I can ever be bothered to eat), soup, fruit and perhaps a cereal bar for lunch and a 'sensible' dinner (under 500 cals) with perhaps a bowl of porridge or a small snack in the evening when the kids are in bed and I've got the munchies. :) I'm registered on mfp so may use that to keep track. If I feel I'm not getting back to it properly by Thursday then there is a WW class I can join locally, but I'd rather save the money.

TheOneWithTheHair · 04/01/2014 13:33

Welcome 2kids. You don't have to use scales if you don't want. Dress size or inches works just as well.

Formal dinner is either going to be fabulous or crashingly boring in my experience. Do you like the other guests?

OP posts:
2kidsintow · 04/01/2014 13:40

Other guests include my parents, sisters and some friends, so it's always a fab evening. And the excuse to wear a great dress also helps.

I shall employ scales, but also would like to not be a size 16 when I go dress shopping. I was last year and HATED myself in the photos. :)

TheOneWithTheHair · 04/01/2014 15:04

Sounds like a good night.

I know what you mean about photos. I hate looking at myself. I don't mind if it's armpits upwards as that's not too bad but any body shots are awful. We may be going away May/June time and I'd love to be less self conscious by then.

KatoPotatoHoHo · 04/01/2014 15:11

Morning! I've been super good today (finally) weetabix and berocca (yellow wee time) for breakfast, down to the gym for a 50 kettlercise class (non stop with a 6kg weight) then a fruit protein smoothie for lunch.

Stir fry planned for dinner, and spin booked for tomorrow. There's no biscuits or treats for the danger zone of Saturday night watching netflix!!

TheOneWithTheHair · 04/01/2014 15:34

Apart from the fact it's mid afternoon!, well done Kato. :)
