Can I just share the best thing that happened today?

DS (nearly 4) went on the potty for the first time ever!!!!!!! I have been breaking my heart with worry over his utter refusal to try potty training. We have suggested gently for months, and he screams, cries, gets panicky. He started having nightmares, so we backed right off.

It has been worrying me so much because he starts school this year, and because other busybodies people have started making derisory comments when they see a glimpse of his nappy. And the mum of one of his friends has been gossiping about it (I know this, because we were at the park and another friend of hers who I barely know said to me 'Kerry tells me you have not potty trained him yet. What do the nursery think about that?') So I have been feeling so fucking inadequate, AND enraged that people think it is any of their fucking business.

Poor little mite. We have deliberately not shown any concern to DS though. And this morning when he had his nappy off he got the potty, put it in the corner of the room and weed.

So, we had hugs, and high fives, and a chocolate bunny and rang daddy to tell him and did a 'potty dance' around the kitchen. I am so so relieved, as it was really worrying me! DS was delighted with himself too, and had to go and tell all his teddies that he 'did a wee in the potty'.

Sounds stupid, but I nearly cried. :)

TheRealAmandaClarke · 19/03/2014 17:27

Whoop whoop wellies that's superb news.
Oh clever little thing.

SlightlyDampWellies · 20/03/2014 06:07

Thanks Amanda I am so pleased. :) Hopefully he has now 'cracked it'.

I am still binge eating through stress. Funny how you resort to old habits.

Yesterday

B- cheerios and milk. 2 easter eggs. 2 slices toast with butter and ham. 1 pack pombears.
L- 2 Big Macs
D- 6 asparagus rolls.

Millyblods · 20/03/2014 10:16

O Wellies that is so lovely. I used to do celebratory dances with my kids too. Well done you for backing off and being an instinctive parent. The women who were saying things to you and about you are just bitches with nothing better to do than gossip nastily about others. Grin

Millyblods · 20/03/2014 10:24

My eating has been ok but not great. Not eating when truly hungry. Need to address that. We all seem to be having crap eating days. Probably tge weather ( hey, we blame it for everything else!! haha). Grin

Hazelbrowneyes · 21/03/2014 11:03

Oh Wellies that’s fab news! Grin

Amanda I hope work improves soon. How is your DD, feeling better?

I had a positive OPK yesterday! Woohoo! Grin I even took a photo of it, I was that proud. Cycles are a little longer than they were pre-pill but I’m not fussed, my body appears to be working! Yay!

I’ve decided to definitely cut out alcohol in April. Mind you, I’ve turned into a complete lightweight as it is. A few small glasses of wine and I wake up with a huge hangover. Not.Fair.

Work is busy which is fab and I’ve been on my feet a bit more. Food wise, it’s been a much better week, I think.

Tuesday:
B – frosties w/ skimmed milk
L – bean soup
D – chicken fajitas
S – low fat crisps, hot chocolate

Wednesday:
B – frosties w/ skimmed milk
L – ham and salad with a bit of pasta and mustard
D – chilli with rice
S – low fat crisps, cadbury’s caramel bar, 2 small glasses of wine

Thursday:
B – frosties w/ skimmed milk
L – small portion of ham and cheese with pasta and mustard
D – chicken and veg stir fry
S – low fat crisps, slice of bread, 3 small glasses of wine

Today:
B – frosties w/ skimmed milk
L – pea and ham soup
D – no idea but probably something out the freezer. More than likely it’ll be scampi and chips Grin
S – low fat crisps, can of full fat coke and one of those new dairy milk with ritz things.

Will go to pub tonight but not stay long, or drink much, as everytime I drink after 8pm, I wake up around 3am and cannot get back to sleep. Very annoying.

I’m feeling pretty positive – I’ve gone a bit blonde again and a bit of a tan from last weekend has meant I feel better. I’m also making a huge effort to paint my nails and dress nicely again difficult when nothing fits but hey ho Oh and I've lost 2lbs. I feel like I've got much more control over my food - it helps that I've been cooking a lot more, actually. Next week I aim to sort out the exercise. I will feel better about myself this summer. I WILL!

Millyblods · 21/03/2014 11:39

Well Done Hazel on 2lb loss and the grooming. I will be slim this summer too.Smile

Millyblods · 21/03/2014 11:40

What's an OPK please Confused ?

Hazelbrowneyes · 21/03/2014 11:44

Ah thanks Milly We will be slim and healthy and beautiful together! ALL of us will Smile

It's an ovulation prediction kit...Amanda has been nagging me for months to use them and I finally have Grin

SlightlyDampWellies · 21/03/2014 12:53

Hello! Great news about the OPK Hazel :)

I shall join you with being slim, healthy and beautiful too. Dh suggested we might try and go away in the summer fo a week, and so I plan to be able to wear a bikini, and not terrify anyone!

Yay all of us!!

SlightlyDampWellies · 21/03/2014 13:40

Mind you..... I do not think that eating my third Big Mac of the week is going to help. Hmm

Hazelbrowneyes · 21/03/2014 14:28

It's Friday Wellies, you can start again on Monday tomorrow Wink

I am craving a McDonalds now Envy

Millyblods · 22/03/2014 01:06

Nothing wrong with a big Mac.......good protein ha ha.Smile

Millyblods · 22/03/2014 01:07

Oooo the thought of having to wear a bikini just brought me out in a cold sweat Shock

SlightlyDampWellies · 22/03/2014 19:58

I have images of myself in a white bikini. With flowing golden locks. And a sarong artfully draped around my bum. If any of you could see what i really look like you would giggle.Grin

Today.

B- 2 slices toast. 2white coffees
L- ham and salad roll
D- chicken and chilli asian noodle soup.

herbal teas and diet lemonade.

Millyblods · 22/03/2014 22:03

Wellies wouldn't it be great to be that image in the white bikini though....sigh.

Me

one slice bacon, one fried egg, mushrooms in salty butter and half tomato with one slice of white bread with salty welsh butter.

one oatcake with welsh vintage cheese, caramlised onion relish and a spoon of homemade red cabbage coleslaw. (plus a couple of spoonfulls that made their way into my mouth....god I love homemade coleslaw).

one spoon of homemade chicken curry and one popadom
two (yes two) mini meringues with cream and chocolate in (OMG) they were soo yummy

Small handful of peanuts and half a can of coke.

Since we all have the same goal to be not wearing cover ups this summer is there some way we can collaborate to achieve our goal? What do you all think. Any suggestions....weigh in maybe where we have to (honestly) list our losses. [smiley]

SlightlyDampWellies · 24/03/2014 12:14

Mmmm.... Milly your meals always sound so good. :)

I like the idea of a collaborative goal. I can do a weekly weigh in- what day suits everyone? (Please not Mondays.... after the weekend is awful!).

My plans - well, i have decided to just 'eat like a normal person'. So cereal and fruit forbk; big salad sandwich/roll for lunch and protein and veg for dinner. I will concentrate on portion sizes, and no alcohol which always derails me.

Today:

B- granola with soy milk, natural yoghurt and honey.

L- ham salad roll with mustard

D - small portion of steak with spinach and pear salad with my homemade blue cheese dressing plus a baked potato.

Lots of water.

Millyblods · 24/03/2014 12:59

Wellies What about Fridays when we can get a medium weight reading? When you say "eat like a normal person" , that is what I am doing. I did it really well just after Christmas, only ate when I was hungry and stopped as soon as I was satisfied and savoured and tasted each and every mouthful. It worked too, lost half a stone in two weeks but then I stopped doing it as well as I was before. So I will join you on restarting it. Smile
Your pear salad with blue cheese sounds amazing.

SlightlyDampWellies · 25/03/2014 07:17

I'm in Milly. Fridays are a great day for me to wi too. :)

I LOVE the blue cheese dressing.... It is just St Agur melted with crème fraiche and a bit of apple juice (about a tablespoon. It is quite delicious, and perfect with spinach and pear salad.

Yes, I keep realising I have such disordered eating, that the mere ability to eat proper food at the proper times is almost revolutionary for me. :) I am determined to crack it this time.

Today:

cereal, soy milk and banana
ham salad roll (already made and sitting in the fridge)
Tuesdays we tend to have fish and chips due to late activities with DCs, so I will take the batter off the fish and eat it with leftover salad.

Millyblods · 25/03/2014 23:47

Me too Wellies. I want to eat normally .

Hazelbrowneyes · 28/03/2014 08:21

Hi all, sorry for absence.

I'm in with the Friday weigh in. I need something to focus on. Are we posting what we weigh or just the losses?

I'm also so cross with myself as well - I've had way too much to drink this week. I’ve got a massive hangover this morning and a busy day. I’m an idiot. I’m also trying for a baby – I need to get a grip.

Anyway, this week I’ve been to Jersey for a few days, which was fab. I’ll list food from there:

Tuesday:
B – pain au chocolat before flight, beans on toast in jersey
L – linguine with olive oil, garlic, chilli, basil and parmesan cheese
D – 500 cal pizza with goats cheese, 200 cal sorbet (why yes, we did eat in Pizza Express Grin)
S – none apart from tea and wine
We also went for a big walk which was fab

Wednesday:
B – sausage, beans, mushrooms, scrambled egg, 2 x hash browns followed by fruit and greek yoghurt
L – parma ham and mozzarella salad, chocolate brownie with icecream
D – none!
S – tea, wine, bloody mary, almonds

Thursday:
B – beans, mushrooms, 2 x hash browns followed by ham and cheese
L – battered cod, chips, mushy peas in local pub
D – none
S – far too much effing wine

I don’t remember getting home last night. I’m actually really quite ashamed of that. I know I will also binge on crap food today. I’ve told DH I won’t go out tonight and instead I plan on tidying up, painting nails (although they’re still perfect from my hurried job on Tuesday!) and some relaxtion.

Tomorrow we’re out for dinner and I’m going to have to try so, so hard not to drink too much. I’ve already looked at the menu and decided I won’t have a starter (too big) and will probably have duck breast for main. If I bother with dessert it’ll probably be sorbet. I don’t want a hangover for Sunday. I’m cat sitting again so need to be up early to see to her, then I have my family over for dinner and I don’t want a hangover for that.

SlightlyDampWellies · 28/03/2014 09:57

Morning Hazel.

Jersey! Lucky thing. I would dearly love to go there. Sounds like you had a nice time- don't beat yourself up, look forwards, not backwards.

I am happy to post losses or total weights. I am afraid that stress has really triggered my bingeing and so I have put on 2 pounds. 10 stone 13. Never mind. I am looking forwards not backwards too! I think as I am not drinking, that I kind of thought I could eat more, as it could be okay. Hmm

Me yesterday:

B - spicy vegetable soup. 1 slice toast with butter.
L- chilli prawns and rice
S- Big Mac
D- leftover chilli prawns and rice.

That is really not eating like a normal person!

Today>

B- 1 slice toast with scrambled egg. (I think I need a more hefty breakfast than cereal- cereal seems to trigger bingeing for me).
L- hamd salad sandwich
D- chicken and tomato casserole with mashed pots, and green beans.

Drinks - herbal teas, sparkling elderflower cordial.

Onwards and downwards!

Millyblods · 28/03/2014 11:58

Hi Everyone
Your little break in Jersey sounds lovely Hazel. Wellies I seemed to have gained a two pounds this week. How the hell I did that I do not bloody know. So pissed off. Arggggg. Onwards and Upwards it is!!!!! It will be down next Friday. It will. It will. It will......
I must start putting my food down each day on here. I think if we all keep doing that it will help us, or is that just me Grin
Right, today Im back to my Paul McKenna thing.

Healthy Revolutionaries!
TheRealAmandaClarke · 30/03/2014 17:58

Sorry for the absence FRs. I have missed you all.
Just been so tired and spending all my time working and doing housework amd all my MN time on a sleep that (and aibu of course Grin)

Glad you've got your OPK Hazel now get cracking Grin

Omg I have been really rubbish. Comfort eating and mindless snacking, the usual culprits. I don't know my current weight but my jeans are tighter and I've lost the lean look that I'd only recently achieved.
I have been to the gym a couple of times though.
So, the "diet" starts tomorrow. I am going to fast tomorrow. Then I will remember to eat mindfully. I might have two fasts next week, or one. But I need to get back to it. It was so good.

Hazelbrowneyes · 31/03/2014 08:43

Morning all!

Lovely weekend but now shattered. Stepped on scales this morning and I’m up to 9st 8lbs. Nothing fits. I’m super motivated now.

Weekend food:

Friday:
B – pain au chocolat
L – mugshot
D – “Indian takeaway” Aldi’s version. Was pretty nice actually. Chicken tikka massala, chicken jalfrezi, pilau rice, naan and samosas
S – Kit kat, dairy milk caramel, low fat crisps, chicken and mushroom pie Blush, small glass of red.

Saturday:
B – I genuinely can’t remember Blush Was either cornflakes or a pain au chocolat
L – cheese and brown sauce sandwich
D – pasta with shredded lamb and chilli in a red wine sauce
S – packet of low fat crisps, bit of olive bread and some olives, ½ bottle of red wine, 2 x shots of amaretto and 1 x limoncello

Sunday:
B – pain au chocolat
L – 3 x cold samosas, breadsticks and dip
D – prawn cocktail (DH made an amazing spicy sauce for this), cottage pie, carrot cake
S – Bottle of wine, hot chocolate

Not great but could have been so much worse. Goal for this week is to incorporate some proper exercise into my days and to eat better. DH boxed up some chocolate cake we were given yesterday but thankfully forgot to bring it to work today.

Today’s plan:

B – cornflakes (I admit, I sprinkled a bit of sugar on top)
L – mugshot
D – cottage pie
S – low fat crisps, tea, water.

Not planning on having any alcohol tonight and I announced to friends on Saturday that I was intending to have an alcohol free April.

Well done for getting to the gym Amanda I like the term "mindful eating", need to use that.

Milly admitting to you guys what I eat does help. It also shames me a bit Grin

Wellies I hope things are a little less stressful for you x

Onwards and Downwards!!
