Welcome to thread 13 of the Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin weight loss system.

The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded friendly support system are:

1. Eat what you WANT
2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. After all, eating a meal is not a competition, it's about enjoying what you are putting into your mouth, but not feeling bloated and uncomfortable (or guilty) afterwards!
Many people have issues around food. Many of us have been brought up by the 'clear your plate' parents of yesteryear which leave us feeling guilty if we leave even the smallest morsel of food, but we are working through this guilt or any other hang up we may have, and we are learning to leave a bit on the plate; return to it another time if we really want to or even feed it to the dog or the bin!
So!! forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!! Let's get lighter for those Christmas outfits!!

The Paul McKenna system really works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

You don't have to buy the book and CD, but we have found that they do help and somehow they keep you on track, so it would probably be a good investment and will cost you far less than a couple of trips to WW or SW meetings, so do consider having them in your life.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry and that is a great way to feel when you are dropping dress sizes at the same time!!! so come on in and start living your new life today and make 2013 your year to drop a dress size or several...if we can get those lbs off a few at a time, just think how we could look and feel for Christmas and The New Year!!!
Some of our thread members are also doing PMK's Virtual Gastric Band and although this thread is not about this avenue, we will still be supportive of our friends partaking of this, so don't think we wont be there for you. I'm pretty sure that the Golden Rules will be just as helpful in this process as the I Can Make You Thin process :) so get stuck in :)

MillyMillyMe · 17/10/2013 12:44

pp Im good thanks. You were away for so long and I always wonder where you are because I always look for your post in the morning. Don't know where BBB is. She seems to be around on MN but not on here.

ppeatfruit · 17/10/2013 13:29

Ooops we've I've probably pissed her right off!

MillyMillyMe · 17/10/2013 14:19

ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!! .....Bless!

MillyMillyMe · 18/10/2013 16:53

Afternoon Ladies.....where are you alllllll!!! Have you all dropped off the wagon or just busy? Grin

ppeatfruit · 18/10/2013 17:21

I'm here but have just driven down to the specialist garage to have my car serviced etc. it's a LONG way and I had to keep up with dh who drives fast so I'm a bit tired. Not off the wagon oh no but maybe a bit meh about it ATM. Won't be here after monday for a week though Sad With the L.O.s so that'll be lovely Grin

MillyMillyMe · 18/10/2013 17:50

pp why are you "meh" (love that phrase, says so much) about it. Explain (if you want) Smile

ppeatfruit · 18/10/2013 17:58

Oh I've been eating a bit mindlessly (dh's cousin's been here and we've been out a lot) i get right back to it indoors though! Also i admit that the turmeric is soo good at controlling my weight and blood type issues I get somewhat lazy Shock i've said it now!

MillyMillyMe · 18/10/2013 19:27

ha ha!! Confessions of a turmeric and olive oil addict. Bloody hell.....if it seriously does that for you then that is brilliant. If very says it works for her and she starts losing weight with it then I will definitely have to have a go.....Smile

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 18/10/2013 20:32

Hope you get it sorted pp.

I'm around. Really not doing well with low mood/comfort eating but Faithlet has started on new meds for her reflux and seems a bit better in the last few days since we started. I have started on happy pills waiting til my counselling comes round. I need something to kick in to get me back on it....

MillyMillyMe · 18/10/2013 23:59

Sorry your still feeling down Faith. It will get better.

veryberrybug · 19/10/2013 00:36

aw poo big hugs to pp & faith we've all been there (some of us too many times to count!!) hope the "meh" goes & the "kickstart" happens... but we're here in the meantime.

i've been a bit sporadic on here because not only is the house in upheaval & behind schedule, but each (adult) member of my family in turn is collapsing in a little heap & needing a lot of support, which i'm happy to give because i can but it still takes it out of me.

i've found the turmeric much more palatable with Udo's oil but havny had minor runs like i did when i just tried it for one day... but i'd had a lot of rum the night before then so it may have been hangover arse collapse!! anyhoo, i've not been so phlegmy & have been eating cheese so so far so good! Grin

mindful eating coming & going... thanks for your reasssurance pp . i've been helped by two new free apps i got which i reccommend: "headspace" for mindful few minutes under 10mins/day & even better "lotus bud" which just randomly chimes tibetan monk type bells at you every now & then, just like a gentle tap on the shoulder to remember & notice! Smile lovely.

have a nice weekend all ... peace out

veryberrybug · 19/10/2013 00:42

p.s faith the baby i help look after has reflux meds & they work like magic, honestly i would never have known if i hadny had to give him the dose myself. apparently he used to just cry out in pain for ages at night & projectile vomit but now he eats & digests normally. so it will get better. & i've been on & off happy pills for the best part of my adult life, & i function so much better with them because i need them, there's no shame in that. they lift that grey colour from your life & allow you to be yourself again. you'll get there & be able to enjoy faithlet Wink

veryberrybug · 19/10/2013 00:45

faith oops posted too soon...
neurochemical catchup takes 3weeks so don't expect too much before then. xx

MillyMillyMe · 19/10/2013 01:20

Have you Very ...happy pills sound good. Grin

ppeatfruit · 19/10/2013 10:00

Hmmmn interesting about happy pills.. I'm not a fan. I took St. John's Wort before and through the menop. but since doing my blood type and easy version of the Hay WOE I've not had to take anything for feeling down (because I don't usually Grin it's not luck it's eating right, not drinking except for the odd glass of red wine,no smoking, sleeping properly etc. IMO and E). Sorry for the rant folks Grin

You're all very kind Thanks I'll always be aware of PM (i'm not putting on weight)!!

MillyMillyMe · 20/10/2013 17:01

Afternoon all,

pp im with you on the "happy pills". I suffered from terrible depression about twenty years ago with panic attacks and it was the darkest time. I didn't take pills because I wanted to get through it myself. I don't think there is anything wrong with them and there is definitely a place for them, definitely. I read loads of books, had therapy and worked on my inner child (don't laugh) and healed myself. I wanted to get through the bad time and the bad place so that I would always have the tools necessary to deal with it again. But that's just me and as I said I appreciate that everyone is different. Im like pp in that I will always find a natural cure or a natural route through things in life. Im dealing with the early days of menopause at the moment and am using St. Johns Wort to get me through. I am naturally a happy positive person and St. Johns Wort really is brilliant at keeping a sunny happy perspective. Amazing herb.

MillyMillyMe · 20/10/2013 17:05

pp can I pick your brains......did you find anything in particular or any foods that helped lower the hot flushes or stop them?

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 20/10/2013 19:01

Well I'm struggling, very tearful. I feel this is the right choice for me as we really can't carry on like we have been. I'll have no marriage left. I'm also eating badly because I'm in a vicious cycle with low mood/crap diet. I'm hoping this'll help to break it.

Vivacia · 20/10/2013 19:12

I'm not good at hand-holding Faith, but I'm here.

Vivacia · 20/10/2013 19:13

It sounds as though there's a lot more going on than weight-loss.

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 20/10/2013 20:39

Thanks Vivacia. It's been a snowball over the last 3 years - took nearly 3 years to conceive, DH had health problems that affected his personality (as did the treatment), the house caught fire (took 6 months to repair), I got ill in the middle of that. We were on the verge of splitting up when I got pregnant (oh the irony). Add in a low birth weight baby who was therefore a needy newborn....it's been a crazy couple of years! I've had an assessment for counselling, basically identified that now things have calmed down I'm finally processing it all. Sessions should start in a month or so and the meds will have started to kick in. I've been depressed before and I'd rather start now before I deteriorate. I need to be functional to look after DD.

Vivacia · 20/10/2013 20:53

It sounds as though you are doing all of the right things.

Have you done Paul McKenna before? If you feel it's the right time, listening to the trance might be a good idea. I like how it makes me feel so positive about my body, and instead of making disparaging comments about it, I think kind thoughts.

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 20/10/2013 21:00

Yes I've been doing it nearly two years! I do try to listen to the trance (although DD seems to have a knack got waking just as I get relaxed!). I think it helps. Off to the Lakes with her and my Dad tomorrow which I'm looking forward to.

Tell us a bit more about yourself Vivacia...
