Welcome to thread 13 of the Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin weight loss system.

The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded friendly support system are:

1. Eat what you WANT
2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. After all, eating a meal is not a competition, it's about enjoying what you are putting into your mouth, but not feeling bloated and uncomfortable (or guilty) afterwards!
Many people have issues around food. Many of us have been brought up by the 'clear your plate' parents of yesteryear which leave us feeling guilty if we leave even the smallest morsel of food, but we are working through this guilt or any other hang up we may have, and we are learning to leave a bit on the plate; return to it another time if we really want to or even feed it to the dog or the bin!
So!! forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!! Let's get lighter for those Christmas outfits!!

The Paul McKenna system really works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

You don't have to buy the book and CD, but we have found that they do help and somehow they keep you on track, so it would probably be a good investment and will cost you far less than a couple of trips to WW or SW meetings, so do consider having them in your life.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry and that is a great way to feel when you are dropping dress sizes at the same time!!! so come on in and start living your new life today and make 2013 your year to drop a dress size or several...if we can get those lbs off a few at a time, just think how we could look and feel for Christmas and The New Year!!!
Some of our thread members are also doing PMK's Virtual Gastric Band and although this thread is not about this avenue, we will still be supportive of our friends partaking of this, so don't think we wont be there for you. I'm pretty sure that the Golden Rules will be just as helpful in this process as the I Can Make You Thin process :) so get stuck in :)

Hi Vivacia just jump back on. We will all be here Smile

Vivacia · 13/10/2013 21:52

Thanks Rules. Tomorrow I'm going to focus on not mistaking thirst for hunger and absolutely no comfort eating.

Does anybody have any helpful suggestions for alternatives to comfort eating?

Rules · 13/10/2013 22:12

Once I got into this woe, comfort eating ceased to have any appeal to be honest. I can eat what I like and have all the foods I want in my kitchen but they tend to stay there unless someone else eats them. Overeating just makes me feel ill and uncomfortable now. I think some ladies found the tapping to be very helpful and havening ( think that's what its called)

veryberrybug · 14/10/2013 00:27

hello viv yes indeedy i've found the havening (if you've got the gastric band book) or otherwise the tapping (ICMYT) very helpful indeed with emotional eating. it's quite an eye-opener & at times i've noticed the non-hungry cravings & still eaten but even if you just start by noticing it's the first step to changing your behaviour. TBH i found when i started following the four rules to the letter i was getting soooo much more enjoyment from my food (no more guilt/longing etc) i was literally topping up my happy at every meal & soon ceased needing to emotionally eat... but then every now & then summat crops up & though you'll have the occasional blip you may well spot it as it's happening: no worries you've realised!! well done on getting back on track!

i LOVE this WOE!! Grin

bulshit · 14/10/2013 02:37

HI all I have done really well with the Paul McKenna hypnotic gastric band so far but would like to loose a bit more. Both myself and my partner have booked a Caribbean holiday for his 60th birthday next February.

I would like to keep off what I have already lost and if possible loose some more to enable me to maintain my new sexy body. Exercise has been a part of my plan since I started in February and at present about to start week eight of the INSANITY DVD. I plan to continue exercising until we go in February.

I have 19 weeks left before our holiday to make a massive difference and I plan to do this. Paul's way of thinking has made difference to my life, I am able to get up in the mornings feeling and looking good.

I am 55 years old, mother of four with six grandchildren and looking hot, but I know that I can look even hotter if I continue to follow the four golden rules. With these rules anything is possible.

So to all you love people out there keep positive and patient and you will get the results that you require. What has been really exciting for me is trying on clothes that I was unable to get into and they fit. So people it's not all about what the number on the scales.

Good luck to you all. We all need each other for support. Xxx

Vivacia · 14/10/2013 07:24

(I do like reading success stories bul).

Do you know, I've followed this for years and always skipped the tapping. I'll read up on that that today. What's "havening"?

veryberrybug · 14/10/2013 11:01

bulshit thankyou for sharing your success story; last time i was having a wobble i read yours & you got me right back on track. wow a carribbean holiday sounds fab, bet you'll be glad to look good in a swimming cossy! enjoy!

viv the havening is very similar to the tapping, does the same job of removing the craving but also gives you some comfort, like someone's just hugged you.

Vivacia · 14/10/2013 11:35

Do you actually hug yourself or something?

So far, so good. Been conscious of all the physical activity I've done this morning. Had lots to drink and a very small but satisfying bowl of Crunchy Nut.

Vivacia · 14/10/2013 20:33

Good day today. No snacking and ate at most half what I've been eating recently. Went on the Wii for half an hour this evening and then spent 30 minutes looking at new clothes on the internet.

Tempted to buy an outfit in the next size down as a goal. Bad idea?

MillyMillyMe · 15/10/2013 00:22

Hi Viv.....Hi Ladies,

Name Changed.....
Viv I would say....bad idea.....you are putting too much pressure on yourself by buying a size smaller. Buy for who you are now if you really want to buy something. Its ok to visualise yourself smaller though.

Vivacia · 15/10/2013 08:11

Yes, you're right Milly. I will picture me in the outfit, but save the pleasure of choosing it nearer the time (and if I'm still this size at Christmas, so be it). I already have a haircut chosen. I might print it out and put it on the kids' biscuit barrel.

veryberrybug · 15/10/2013 22:51

viv well done on exercise & mindful eating. i've done all that buying smaller size clothes & dreaming of the haircut i'll get when i'm thin through the diet years & it's shit. so last october i got my hair cut because i damn well wanted to & it's great! today i dyed it purple (which i was going to do when i dieted down to a size ten - never happened) & i might still be a couple of sizes bigger than i'd like to be but my hair looks ace!! rules had some good advice about capsule wardrobes a couple of pages back: it's all about being happy now & making the most of what you've got, then being pleasantly surprised when you drop a size! Wink

MillyMillyMe · 15/10/2013 23:01

Awww.thanks very glad the advice helped.Grin

MillyMillyMe · 15/10/2013 23:25

Hi folks marking my place Welcome to the newbies Grin

ppeatfruit · 16/10/2013 16:23

Very yeah you can mix it with any oil you like but remember to drink a full glass of water with it Grin. Glad you're doing sooo well Grin

We've been entertaining dh 's adult cousin so i've not had time to be on here I don't know how anyone manages it along with L.O's Grin

BTW snap bulshit I'm older than you and with the help of acupressure stretches and the odd easy crunch ex. have maintained my loose vanity size 10s for a while now. You're lucky if your dh is open to P.M. mine is very much in need of him but ignores me!! He's a hedonist.

HadA Pleased that little faithlet is okay now; IIWM I'd think about changing her type of FF. If she's had a bad cold.

MillyMillyMe · 16/10/2013 18:15

pp Hi, wondered where you had been.

veryberrybug · 17/10/2013 09:33

heehee good morning all Smile

milly i thought it was you, i like the new name!

righty-ho, i've been a bit about needing to just get down to business & sort out these piles of mess (packing stuff up to swap rooms with kids this week as they're on holiday fe school) in fact DD1 is putting me to shame! so having slept badly i'm going to power through today & get a lick of nice new paint on so i can see something's been done (aswell as getting horribly dusty)!

i can't help but notice i keep slipping back to eating faster again, & then feeling the need to reboot etc... but i am hungry often so probably not overeating. is it possible to feel i'm actually doing this right or will i always feel like i should try harder? Hmm

ppeatfruit · 17/10/2013 10:00

Morning Grin nice to be back even for a little while {i'm flying over on Monday for a week) veryberry don't forget to damp dust with a drop of lavender oil in the water that is brill because this house is stone and permanently dusty (I get a damp duster or teacloth tied round a broom head with any ess. oil I fancy and remove the cobwebs from between the beams (they're high up Shock) I don't need Xmas dex the spiders do the work for me!!!

I know I do the same rebooting thing it's normal IME and O Grin don't beat yourself up about trying harder!

Milly (That's our cat's name Grin) i haven't guessed yet; are you BBB? if you are we've missed you or are you Solo ?(who likes a bit of a NC Grin).

MillyMillyMe · 17/10/2013 12:32
