Welcome to thread 13 of the Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin weight loss system.

The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded friendly support system are:

1. Eat what you WANT
2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. After all, eating a meal is not a competition, it's about enjoying what you are putting into your mouth, but not feeling bloated and uncomfortable (or guilty) afterwards!
Many people have issues around food. Many of us have been brought up by the 'clear your plate' parents of yesteryear which leave us feeling guilty if we leave even the smallest morsel of food, but we are working through this guilt or any other hang up we may have, and we are learning to leave a bit on the plate; return to it another time if we really want to or even feed it to the dog or the bin!
So!! forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!! Let's get lighter for those Christmas outfits!!

The Paul McKenna system really works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

You don't have to buy the book and CD, but we have found that they do help and somehow they keep you on track, so it would probably be a good investment and will cost you far less than a couple of trips to WW or SW meetings, so do consider having them in your life.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry and that is a great way to feel when you are dropping dress sizes at the same time!!! so come on in and start living your new life today and make 2013 your year to drop a dress size or several...if we can get those lbs off a few at a time, just think how we could look and feel for Christmas and The New Year!!!
Some of our thread members are also doing PMK's Virtual Gastric Band and although this thread is not about this avenue, we will still be supportive of our friends partaking of this, so don't think we wont be there for you. I'm pretty sure that the Golden Rules will be just as helpful in this process as the I Can Make You Thin process :) so get stuck in :)

I fell off the wagon a bit. Stopped listening to the trance because the only time I could find to listen was last thing at night. Listening to Paul isn't always the thing I want to do when I get in to bed!

Joined the discussion herd again and have just completed my first week back on the approach.

Vivacia · 20/10/2013 21:33

("Here", not "herd"!).

MillyMillyMe · 20/10/2013 22:22

Hi Faith
Whats happening sweetheart? How are you feeling. Everyone is saying that when the tablets kick in that you will feel better so maybe you just have to be patient. I don't know as I did it the cold turkey way (and a few Whiskeys helped lol).
Are you happy with DP Faith. You said that you were on the verge of splitting up when you got pregnant, so how do you feel about him now?

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 21/10/2013 07:37

Since I started the tablets I feel better - placebo?! Or maybe just because I've taken control. Things have been strained. We have very different approaches to parenting, we didn't realise we would. The problem has been we've struggled to have calm, rational discussions because I've been overwrought and defensive. I've seen every suggestion as a criticism of what I've been doing so far. It's been better this week though. He was away this weekend and we missed each other which is good! I think as I'm calmer it'll be easier for us to communicate.

ppeatfruit · 21/10/2013 09:15

Crikey some a lot of action on here Grin Well millyrules You don't mind me calling you that do you? Evening Primrose Oil is very good for hot flushes and of course following your blood type Grin also for O types Agnus Castus or equisetum and or vervaine (which you can get in a tea). Taking a Kelp supplement is a great help as well for general health.

Faith IMO there are as many parenting approaches as there are people which doesn't help but suffice to say I know most couples struggle with it. I say 'ignore ignore' dh and go with your instincts if possible Grin Enjoy your break (I'm off for a week too) Grin

Vivacia Good to have you here; we all go on and off it that's one of the beauties of the Paul Mckenna WOE!!!

MillyMillyMe · 21/10/2013 11:42

Faith ..morning.....I used to feel criticised too. Maybee we all do as we are so close ti our babies and we have this invisible bond that will ways be there. We have some of our children's DNA in our blood as well as them having ours. When your a mum you just feel you know what's right for them. Dads however see the mum totally overwhelmed by it all and just want to help. They can sometimes offer more rational solutions when we have lost the plot though Grin It's really good that you missed each other....means that you have something to work on. Smile

MillyMillyMe · 21/10/2013 11:49

Thanks pp will check them out. Did you get hot flushes?

MillyRules · 21/10/2013 15:46

Ta Dah!!!!!!!! For pp lol!!!! I love it.

MillyRules · 22/10/2013 19:51

C'mon ladies, keep posting about how your doing or not doing.....we can all help each other to be good Paulers Wink Smile Smile Smile

Vivacia · 23/10/2013 12:44

Bad night last night. Much better today.

MillyRules · 23/10/2013 14:46

Vivacia · 23/10/2013 15:26

MillyRules · 23/10/2013 15:58

Liddy16 · 23/10/2013 21:00

Hi can I join the board, just fitted my band today, so far so good, had normal portion for trea tonight,, left some in the bowl because I actually felt ful this NEVER happens, I didn't to be 6 stone over weight by leaving food. I have a very long road to travel and I am in this foir the long haul and I would love some company. Tried every diet and diret club imaginable lost a few pounds then gained a lot, I am stuck in a horrible rut and neecd to get out of it to start enjoying my life with my dh, dd and ds. Please keep me going.

Vivacia · 23/10/2013 21:19

Keep going Liddy! Perhaps we can help each other?

MillyRules · 23/10/2013 22:19

Hi Liddy and Welcome. We are a bit quiet here at the moment but the others will be along to chat to you soon. Most of us don't do the hypno band, we just do the PMICMYT. But, it doesn't matter as its basically the same thing. Now you have inserted the band, make sure you keep reading the book and listed to the CD as a top up often. This is a great way to begin to change your eating habits. Diets do not ever work long term, you just end up back to square one and then some. Some of the ladies here have been on this thread for about 3 years ( Solo and pp and Faith*...think that's right??) so you will have plenty of support. The main thing with this woe is to not expect miracles at first. It can take a good 6 months to re learn these new habits and to totally learn to allow yourself to eat whatever you want, when your hungry etc. Please keep posting and if you need any support, just ask. Smile

Liddy16 · 23/10/2013 22:47

Hi vivacia and MillyRules it is great to have your support, and I hope I can offer you some support along the way, I plan to listen to the band cd regularly just to keep on top of it. I have given up on quick fixes cos they didn't get me anywhere. Realising I can eat what I want not what I think I shpould eat to lose weight is going to be a.challenge along with listening to my body and recognising true hunger and then fullness.

MillyRules · 23/10/2013 22:54

Liddy its not easy to change the way you have always been around food, that's why I think it takes a good six months to really start to get it. Smile

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 24/10/2013 17:17

Hello, I'm Faith. I've been Pauling nearly 2 years. Did pretty well but had a baby and since then (6 months ago) it's gone a bit haywire but yes, newbies welcome! I'm away this week with rubbish signal hence the radio silence (free woof where we're having dinner) but will be back tomorrow to post more :)

veryberrybug · 25/10/2013 22:59

hello all & welcome liddy it's nice to have 5 minutes to pop on here for a catch up!

i've just had another patch of not fancying cake & chocolate at all & been really enjoying my meat & salad. think all that cycling is making me grow more muscle for sure. the house is still upside down & i've been just non-stop but i've rediscovered mindfulness practice & it's definitely been that that's got me through - just taking a few minutes here or a wee half hour there Halloween Wink ooh i like the seasonal icons!

WRT conversations about happy pills (i know that was ages ago but i feel i have to reply) given a choice i would choose not to take antidepressants, but i do not have a choice if i want to stay well for me & my family. some of us have brains which do not make enough serotonin, it's genetic & chemical. if i did not take these meds i probably would not be here to look after my DDs. st. john's wort is known to be good for mild depression, but for those of us with moderate to severe it doesny even touch the sides. in which case meds are not a choice, they are a necessary evil. they are the reason i put on 3 stone & partly why i have no DC3-4. i have also taken all the help i can get with counselling, CBT, mindfulness practice, positive parenting classes, & i know these things make a good difference to thought patterns, but when you have young kids you don't have the luxury of time to wait for these things to sink in, you need instant help. & every time depression returns, your prognosis gets worse (chance of recurrance increases) so some folk are on them for life (eg. me & my mum). i just feel that disapproval of meds which are necessary for some folk, or suggestion you can do it without meds which insinuates it's a cop-out, is unhelpful Halloween Angry & seems like disapproval of a person for a "choice" which is not actually there when you're that ill. so there!

MillyRules · 26/10/2013 01:23

I did not disapprove very just said they were not the way I dealt with my depression. Been there myself so I do know exactly what its like. Just chose a different route through it. As I said I understand why people take them totally. So there !! lol Grin

ppeatfruit · 26/10/2013 11:58

Im back everyone !!! Halloween Grin nice to see some more people on here we're here to give a hand to those who need it. Welcome liddy you've found the BEST way to lose weight and it's for life IMO!

I certainly don't want to get into an argument about ADs Veryberry I was just pointing out that there are other ways of controlling it, docs can sometimes just give the meds without thinking e.g. melatonin is good for depression and also being aware of what you were doing before it strikes (like the drinking of spirits or whatever) Dh gets awful down after he thinks a small brandy or vodka every night is the way to go! You 're lucky if the meds suit you too !!

veryberrybug · 26/10/2013 18:46

ok fighting stance relaxed a little i just don't want to hear meds dismissed as part of the evil chemical overlord etc. i know as a pattern western doctors are overprescribing painkillers & antidepressants, but i don't want to overcorrect in a backlash that then says they're all bad. i too love natural remedies & think there are many things they can help with & balance out, but what i'm saying is if push comes to shove & you're in a critical way, traditional western meds can be a lifesaver (literally) & get you up to a place where you can actually think & do stuff like CBT which then give you tools to use in the future. there is a depth of severe depression where your brain just cany do that. you cany see beyond right here & now being awful, you cany stand back & actually see a pattern because you're drowning. but meds should by no means be the only solution, they are a way to get your head above water so you can then help yourself. anyhoo, that's that said. Halloween Grin

how's everyone doing Pauling? milly are you still listening to the HGB CD? liddy has it had positive effect on you? pp how've you been whilst visiting? still meh? faith how's the comfort eating? have you tried tapping or feeling beyond that? Halloween Smile

ppeatfruit · 27/10/2013 08:03

You'll LOL at me very 'cos while rushing about in London I could feel my size 10 knicks and small size tights falling down (luckily under my jeans with the belt tight!!) I blame the vanity sizing I feel sorry for really 'small' sized women Like DD1 she has to wear child sizes!! So as you can tell I'm still losing.[htlgrin]

There was an interesting programme about Depression by Stephen Fry did you see it? he was told to give up smoking and eat healthily by a doctor who has beaten it by doing just that !

milly I still get the odd warm flush (i never got them badly) and managed without HRT (I didn't fancy horse pee pills!) just on the right supplements for me!

MillyRules · 27/10/2013 14:45

pp STOP SHOWING OFF!!!!!Grin
