Welcome to thread 13 of the Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin weight loss system.

The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded friendly support system are:

1. Eat what you WANT
2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. After all, eating a meal is not a competition, it's about enjoying what you are putting into your mouth, but not feeling bloated and uncomfortable (or guilty) afterwards!
Many people have issues around food. Many of us have been brought up by the 'clear your plate' parents of yesteryear which leave us feeling guilty if we leave even the smallest morsel of food, but we are working through this guilt or any other hang up we may have, and we are learning to leave a bit on the plate; return to it another time if we really want to or even feed it to the dog or the bin!
So!! forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!! Let's get lighter for those Christmas outfits!!

The Paul McKenna system really works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

You don't have to buy the book and CD, but we have found that they do help and somehow they keep you on track, so it would probably be a good investment and will cost you far less than a couple of trips to WW or SW meetings, so do consider having them in your life.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry and that is a great way to feel when you are dropping dress sizes at the same time!!! so come on in and start living your new life today and make 2013 your year to drop a dress size or several...if we can get those lbs off a few at a time, just think how we could look and feel for Christmas and The New Year!!!
Some of our thread members are also doing PMK's Virtual Gastric Band and although this thread is not about this avenue, we will still be supportive of our friends partaking of this, so don't think we wont be there for you. I'm pretty sure that the Golden Rules will be just as helpful in this process as the I Can Make You Thin process :) so get stuck in :)

Bonnie ...morning.......
have sort of but its difficult. I am reluctantant to want to share my life with them so only the barest minimum contact. The past has not been discussed so just moved on. They are in Australia and probably will never see them again due to their poor health.

MillyChristmas · 09/12/2013 08:08

Bonnie that made me laugh...*Bull in a china shop" DH was like that this morning. I tiptoe round the house so as not to wake anyone but he is oblivious and very heavy footed. Smile

NoGoodAtWittyNames · 09/12/2013 09:02

Milly sounds like you've got the right idea with your parents. At least with them being so far away you don't have to feel any unnecessary guilt about not seeing them.

Bonnie hope you managed to do your trance. Couldn't find my headphones this morning so going to listen when DD has her nap and DS is engrossed in cbeebies!

I had an ok weekend, lots of lovely family time but not great PMing. Finally admitted to myself that whilst I may be an emotional eater, I'm also just plain greedy. Started to think should ban chocolate and crisps from the house so can't be tempted, but then thought that's just setting DC up for food issues, so going back to PM basics: using imagination (food crawling in maggots etc) rather than trying to do it through willpower and using tapping (which I have now memorised). Also did my measurements and set my 90 day review date (9th March) so no more measuring/weighing until then just lots and lots of slow mindful eating and tapping!

Bonnie152 · 09/12/2013 13:47

Milly I suppose the physical distance helps in a way. I'm sure, if not now, certainly some point in the near future they'll regret what has happened and what they've put you through. I admire your strength.

Witty I didn't get chance to listen to it in the end as she wouldn't go back to sleep so will have to be tonight. I always find I get too distracted to listen in the day time anyway. Hope you manage to listen to yours Smile

Back from the shops and DD and I had lunch, had toast with pate and cucumber and a muller rice thingy (well, aldi version!) and enjoyed every bit. Had to put my rice pot back as was comfortably full without it.

Normally on my days off I eat at every opportunity I'm ashamed to say Hmm I would normally have had umpteen snacks and would've got maybe a cake or sausage roll from sainsburys to have in the car on the way home. Hubby would always come home and be like "where's all the biscuits gone?" Etc. Feels great to be in control!

How's everyone else doing today?

NoGoodAtWittyNames · 09/12/2013 13:55

Well done Bonnie! I've just successfully tapped away a craving for biscuits - feeling v chuffed with myself and like you loving feeling in control around food again. Definitely back in the zone - determined to see it through til my 90 day review, know I'll still have bad days but not going to quit this time.

MillyChristmas · 09/12/2013 14:10

Brilliant Bonnie, NoGood when your in the zone its great. Grin Grin Grin

MillyChristmas · 09/12/2013 14:11

Going to listen to my CD..........

MillyChristmas · 09/12/2013 14:19

Thanks for the kind words ladies. I don't dwell on it though. It is what it is . Thanks

Bonnie152 · 09/12/2013 14:41

Glad we're all having good days! Grin

NoGood Does the tapping technique really work well? I came across it when I did PM before but never really used it, not sure why, I suppose I just didn't think it'd work.

Does anyone do the Mirror Exercise? That's another one I never really got into but going to try it as want to give myself every chance to succeed.

NoGoodAtWittyNames · 09/12/2013 16:08

Yeah the tapping is amazing, wish I'd discovered it earlier as it totally does the trick. Hoping as I re-program my mind I won't need to tap as much as you do look a total weirdo though!
Don't do the mirror technique but I do actively try to think positively about my body and focus on the good points rather than the bad.

Jellybean456 · 09/12/2013 17:32

Had a quick look in, and everyone on here seems to be doing great. Been mindfully eating all day.

Lunchtime in tescos cafe, shared a macaroni dish with DD. Ate with left hand which Definately worked in getting me to eat slower.

This evening had a bacon and egg sarnie, finished off with a trifle.

Have noticed that I when I eat out I either order one meal for me and DD to share, or I get myself kid meals. Have you seen the size of kids meals these days? More than enough for an adult.

If we ever have a McDonalds I get a happy meal, as it's smaller, cheaper plus a toy for DD.

Well done NoGood for the tapping. I really need to practise and memorise this.

MillyChristmas · 09/12/2013 18:34

Hi Ladies....I really need to do the mirror technique thingy. I have a love hate affair with mirrors.

SoloXantiaClaws · 10/12/2013 00:22

quick post from me before sleep.

The mirror exercise is totally worth doing and was, I believe what kicked me into my second level of weight loss. Learn to love your body. That really is key to it all.

NoGoodAtWittyNames · 10/12/2013 09:16

Does anyone else find when you listen to what your body really wants, you end up eating some random things? Just had mackerel on toast for my breakfast. Very un-me but surprisingly tasty!

Good idea about using side plates Jelly think I might do this, don't think my freezer can fit much more leftovers in it! I definitely agree about kids portions, I also find recipes from magazines etc are the same. A recipe for two can easily feed me, DH (who has a big appetite) and the DC.

SoloXantiaClaws · 10/12/2013 09:24

Don't usually want random food stuffs. Mackerel on toast sounds lovely!

Jellybean456 · 10/12/2013 09:27

Hi NoGood

That was a nice random choice. I have'nt had anything out the ordinary yet, but I bet I will soon.

Just finished off my toast with some chocolate, however fancy more, so going to do some tapping now.

Got some more links to follow :)

SoloXantiaClaws · 10/12/2013 09:32

I've just finished a bowl of own brand Ready Brek and could've/should've stopped at halfway, but I didn't! going to make a smaller portion tomorrow.

OComeAllYeFaithFul · 10/12/2013 09:32

Morning all, tis I, Faith with a festive NC.

I am not Pauling at all. I'm eating in front of the tv, scarfing food, gorging on chocolate. Also I'm totally miserable about my body. Not listening to the CD and contemplating SW at times (dark times!). Faithlet is down for her nap so I'm going to get a cuppa and dig my book out. Does anyone have the app? Is it worth the money?

SoloXantiaClaws · 10/12/2013 09:39

Hello HALF :) Now come on girl! you can do it :) you know you can, as do I!! we have done it before, haven't we?
Forget SW, forget WW, forget all of those things that will makew you fatter when you stop doing them and concentrate on what you know will work and for good too as long as you remain mindful!

I don't have the app. I don't have an iphone either, just an android. I'm determined to listen to one of the cd's this week at least. I think I'll try the PMK's VGB.

Got an appointment, so will come back soon.

Stay positive!!!

SoloXantiaClaws · 10/12/2013 09:40

Thanks for the links Jelly

Good morning everyone!! :)

Jellybean456 · 10/12/2013 09:50

Hi Faith and Solo

Well just did the tapping 5 times over with the panic, and urge to over eat gone.

Not sure how it works?, maybe just the distraction by doing something else.

I got all of the above links of one web page. A really good mindful eating page. The app link was free on my iPhone. However getting an android phone soon, so not sure if it will work on that. However have an iPad just in case.

Jellybean456 · 10/12/2013 09:53

Ps Faith

The Paul McKenna I can make you thin app is well worth the money. There are lots of useful techniques he shows in video form so that you can copy as well as the basic trance :)
