Welcome to thread 13 of the Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin weight loss system.

The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded friendly support system are:

1. Eat what you WANT
2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. After all, eating a meal is not a competition, it's about enjoying what you are putting into your mouth, but not feeling bloated and uncomfortable (or guilty) afterwards!
Many people have issues around food. Many of us have been brought up by the 'clear your plate' parents of yesteryear which leave us feeling guilty if we leave even the smallest morsel of food, but we are working through this guilt or any other hang up we may have, and we are learning to leave a bit on the plate; return to it another time if we really want to or even feed it to the dog or the bin!
So!! forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!! Let's get lighter for those Christmas outfits!!

The Paul McKenna system really works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

You don't have to buy the book and CD, but we have found that they do help and somehow they keep you on track, so it would probably be a good investment and will cost you far less than a couple of trips to WW or SW meetings, so do consider having them in your life.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry and that is a great way to feel when you are dropping dress sizes at the same time!!! so come on in and start living your new life today and make 2013 your year to drop a dress size or several...if we can get those lbs off a few at a time, just think how we could look and feel for Christmas and The New Year!!!
Some of our thread members are also doing PMK's Virtual Gastric Band and although this thread is not about this avenue, we will still be supportive of our friends partaking of this, so don't think we wont be there for you. I'm pretty sure that the Golden Rules will be just as helpful in this process as the I Can Make You Thin process :) so get stuck in :)

MillyChristmas · 05/12/2013 22:20

Whoops ....think I did the wrong emoticon.....

Xmas Angry Tah Dah

Jellybean456 · 05/12/2013 22:32

That's interesting Miliie, as you said recently that just thinking of diets makes you overeat.

So maybe it's this recurring thought of diets that is preventing you losing any weight.

How about if we pledge not to think of any diets at all for at least 4 weeks, and then check if we've lost any weight, be it a couple of pounds or more.

I've said 4 weeks, because I think we need small steps to start with to get away from the diet mentality altogether.

My reset buttons pressed now too :)

NoGoodAtWittyNames · 05/12/2013 23:09

Sorry Rules really crap at coming on here and staying in touch. Don't beat yourself up about it, do you know your reasons why? That last stone will come off eventually, I often find when I stop focussing on losing weight that's when it happens. Some people lose weight steadily others (like me) can lose quite a bit at once and then nothing for ages, maybe your body's just re-adjusting and you'll find it'll come off later (zero science behind that statement so apologies if it's deeply unhelpful!)

I got an email from PM himself earlier (ooh get me!) and he's releasing a new book in the new year and I've just pre-ordered it from amazon (this is the link
www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/0593064070/ref=redir_mdp_mobile?keywords=emotional%20eating%20paul%20mckenna&qid=1385532956&ref_=sr_1_1&sr=8-1

Bit pricey but seeing as emotional eatings my main downfall thought I'd give it a go. I've been following ICMYT on and off for 5 years and whilst a lot of it has sunk in, still frustrated that it's not coming naturally to me 100% of the time, so think a new angle could give me the boost I need. Maybe that's what you need Rules just to give you that kick-start again?

PS Solo I think by next Christmas you'll be a fully paid up member of the Poncetastic Christmas club, you can only resist it for so long!

NoGoodAtWittyNames · 05/12/2013 23:12

Jelly forgot to say 3lb is still fab! Did you mention before you were going to start measuring yourself instead? Sorry if I've got mixed up with someone else, but it's still definitely worth considering, much more reliable than scales!

SoloXantiaClaws · 05/12/2013 23:21

Witty I got one of those emails too! Xmas Grin. We must be ver ver important no? haha!!

I can honestly say that I don't ever think of going on a weight loss diet. I've said I'll never do it again and I wont!
I'm going to attempt to listen to a CD tomorrow (might do the VGB one as I haven't listened to that yet).

Keep your morale buoyant Paulers :) we will lose the weight we want to!

MillyChristmas · 06/12/2013 00:25

I didn't get a very important email????? Huh.

That looks a book to have doesn't it. I shall get that.
And......thanks ever so much Ladies, feel better now so thanks for rallying to the aid of myself.
I definitely suffer from emotional eating and think that's why I have over eaten recently. Felt bad about myself so found myself eating until full or over full which is something I don't normally do.....havnt done it for ages. Need to address why I felt like that
BUT then when I do eat mindlessly I feel that im out of control and that I need to DIET!!!! Its the old tapes playing in my head. But the minute I think about dieting I start to overeat as well. Bloody hell!!

MillyChristmas · 06/12/2013 12:09

I'm a size 16 bottom and 14 top.....would be very happy being 14 bottom and 14 top. I have a Kim Kardashian arse.....always have so that booty is where my fat is stored. Big boobs too....so I'm an hourglass . You would think a stone was easy to melt away wouldn't you.

MillyChristmas · 06/12/2013 12:10

O and I'm 5ft 9 inches tall.

SoloXantiaClaws · 06/12/2013 12:51

Hello!!!

Cold today! Brrrrrr!!!

MillyChristmas · 06/12/2013 13:38

Have you inserted your band yet Solo????
Jelly since we know listening to the hypnosis cd keeps us on track, why is it we dont listen to it regularly. When I dont I go off track

MillyChristmas · 06/12/2013 13:39

Nigella lost her weight through hypnosis.

NoGoodAtWittyNames · 06/12/2013 14:42

Did she? I think she looks amazing, I've never seen anyone enter court looking as fabulous as her! According to PMs email (which only us VIPs got Grin) he's also helped royalty, wonder who that could be?

How are you feeling today Rules? Back on track? I've really struggled to feel motivated to do anything these last couple of months, sure I suffer from SAD. But think yesterday's gales have blown my cobwebs away and I'm back in the zone. Even found myself contemplating an early morning jog, although not quite so motivated to actually venture out into the freezing dark!

MillyChristmas · 06/12/2013 17:16

NoGood Yep. Private hypnosis but still.....if I listen to my cd every day it keeps me on track!!
Royality hey?????

Came across this BLOG by a lady who found Paul McKenna. She says something in her opening page that might explain where I (maybe all of us) am going wrong. I am too worried and concerned about losing the weight. You need to forget about weight loss and not care about it before it will happen. The more you focus on weight loss and the scales the less likely it is to happen.....why......because we then self sabotage.
Sound familiar??? I don't gain weight when I do PM....my weight is stable and my clothes all fit me and have done for the last 8 years so that is good yes??? But the more I concentrate on doing this for weight loss the more likely I am to fail. Mindful eating and PMs techniques make me feel soooo good about myself and food, that is what I should be taking from it......not getting on the scales to see if I have lost anything. Feeling good around food means I don't overeat because I have no need too. Its only when I feel bad about myself and food that I overeat. SO........im rebooting with a different attitude. Xmas Smile

MillyChristmas · 06/12/2013 17:18

Here is a link to the BLOG if anyone is interested.

MillyChristmas · 06/12/2013 18:35

Maybe this is how most of you do PM ing anyway and its just me who is fixated on " weight loss".

MillyChristmas · 06/12/2013 18:38

NoVgood SAD is horrible. I find I'm better if I spend more time outdoors if I can though.

NoGoodAtWittyNames · 06/12/2013 21:05

Thanks Rules having a quick skive at work at the mo but will def check it out when I get home as that's me to a tee.

Jellybean456 · 06/12/2013 21:50

Hi All

Lots on here today. Will have a look at that link Milly, sounds just like me. I'm also fixated on weight loss, and will now have to step back and relax.

I find that I also self sabotage.

That's interesting about Nigella, I started thinking that she had lost her weight from the cocaine use because of what has just come out, but who knows.

Hi No good- a good walk outside does help with SAD, plus it's good exercise. I also find my Zumba classes help keep my moods upbeat.

I'm also a size 14 Milly, but short 5ft 3, so I show any weight gain quite easily.

Off to look up that book, and check the link mentioned. Night all :)

NoGoodAtWittyNames · 07/12/2013 08:05

Blog read, inspiration gained - thanks Milly!

Think I've just become too complacent. Can't remember the last time I read the book or did the tapping technique and every time I listen to the cd it just sends me to sleep (really deep sleep too where I don't even wake up at the end) so here are my end of year resolutions:

1 Re-read the book, then read a chapter everyday to stay in the zone.
2 Memorise the tapping technique so I know it off by heart and actually use it when I fancy eating when not truly hungry
3 Set my alarm 30mins earlier so I'm listening to the cd first thing in the am rather than last thing at night.

I was talking to a friend who's doing slimming world and she was saying how she expects to gain around a stone over Xmas and how she doesn't care, she's just going to eat what she wants and then get back on it again in the new year, but effectively undo all her hard work from the last few months. And I just thought aren't we PMers lucky? (well when we're doing it properly anyway!) Everyday's like Xmas for us, we can eat whatever we want and be in control and never have to worry about our weight - lucky, lucky us!

PS I'm 5 ft 4 and a 12-14 but like you Jelly being short means I don't carry it very well! But I'm not going to worry about my weight and risk self-sabotaging, for me it's all about being in control around food and properly enjoying food.

(Feeling v fired up now, feel the need to punch the air and shout woo a lot - please remind me of this when I'm next having a self-pitying moan!)

Jellybean456 · 07/12/2013 09:44

Hi NoGood

Just read your message, and it's fired me up too.
And yes we are lucky PMers, because if we are doing it properly, it's just like having Christmas everyday, by conciously eating, eating what we like, only eating when hungry and stopping when full.

I've woken with an awful headache this morning and don't feel hungry.
I never get a decent nights sleep as hubby as an awful snoring problem, but won't do anything about it.

It's driving me mad, and I don't know what to do. Don't want to wear earplugs, as need to listen out for my daughter if she wakes in the night.

Anyway, not at all hungry yet, so will leave it till lunchtime if no hunger.
