Welcome to thread 13 of the Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin weight loss system.

The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded friendly support system are:

1. Eat what you WANT
2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. After all, eating a meal is not a competition, it's about enjoying what you are putting into your mouth, but not feeling bloated and uncomfortable (or guilty) afterwards!
Many people have issues around food. Many of us have been brought up by the 'clear your plate' parents of yesteryear which leave us feeling guilty if we leave even the smallest morsel of food, but we are working through this guilt or any other hang up we may have, and we are learning to leave a bit on the plate; return to it another time if we really want to or even feed it to the dog or the bin!
So!! forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!! Let's get lighter for those Christmas outfits!!

The Paul McKenna system really works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

You don't have to buy the book and CD, but we have found that they do help and somehow they keep you on track, so it would probably be a good investment and will cost you far less than a couple of trips to WW or SW meetings, so do consider having them in your life.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry and that is a great way to feel when you are dropping dress sizes at the same time!!! so come on in and start living your new life today and make 2013 your year to drop a dress size or several...if we can get those lbs off a few at a time, just think how we could look and feel for Christmas and The New Year!!!
Some of our thread members are also doing PMK's Virtual Gastric Band and although this thread is not about this avenue, we will still be supportive of our friends partaking of this, so don't think we wont be there for you. I'm pretty sure that the Golden Rules will be just as helpful in this process as the I Can Make You Thin process :) so get stuck in :)

I think it was a bit of both. I didnt even enjoyed the food I was shoving down my throat. have had friends staying and its basically been tale away after take away infront of the tv. half way through the book again and cant wait to install and start a fresh tomorrow x

MillyRules · 12/11/2013 21:16

It gets easier shezam. There will be periods of overeating sometimes until you get the hang of it. Doesn't matter anyway. Just reboot.

shezam · 12/11/2013 21:25

yip rebooted and ready to go tomorrow. actually loved how much money I was savibg by not overeating! x

Doesn't matter shezam just keep working on it. If your doing it a little bit then your getting there. We all eat unconsciously at times.

Hi All

Sorry not been on here, but have slipped a bit. I've gorged a bit too Shezham on anything sweet in the house, and haven't been eating mindfully all of the time.

Whenever I eat, I think of the 4 rules, but have lapsed on some occasions. However when I've on that, I.e reading while eating, I've noticed that I haven't noticed the old that's gone into my mouth, like I would have done by eating mindfully.

I'm back to myself now after rotten TOTM last week. I even had a bad breakout of acne spots, and I'm 49!

Reading the book though, and will listen to PM tomorrow. One interesting thing he says in his book is not to be hard on yourself, that we will all get to our goal, and may veer from the path at times, but will in the end get there. That keeps me going.

Ps. Went out for lunch Sunday, and left tons of food on my plate, as I was full, and id'nt really want it. Normally it would bother me leaving so much. However had yummy ice cream afterwards. But did not feel at all guilty.

Corrections:

'I've noticed that I haven't noticed the food that's gone into my mouth'

' I did'nt really want it'

TheDoctrineOfWho · 13/11/2013 22:17

Have not done too well but tomorrow is a new day!

Jellybean456 · 14/11/2013 12:11

Had breakfast this morning, but also snuck in 3 cereal bars as well even though I was full. It seemed that I wanted to eat them until the packet was empty, and then I was satisfied.

I am Definately an emotional eater, and this is where my problems lie. Plus, I can't feel myself trying as hard as I was two weeks ago.

Will do the hypno tonight, and emotional cravings technique.

Can feel myself getting bigger, although haven't weighed myself as scared to.

Also found that I've slipped on the water front, and haven't been drinking enough.

Jellybean456 · 19/11/2013 21:48

Well has everyone left this thread. It is so quiet here. What's wrong?

TheDoctrineOfWho · 20/11/2013 00:26

Evenings are worst for me, I am
Just in the habit of snacking without noticing !

TheDoctrineOfWho · 20/11/2013 00:37

I did only eat half my bread roll at lunch, saved it for later then didn't need it.

It's only evenings that are bad.

Jellybean456 · 20/11/2013 13:16

Hi TD

Well, I'm still practising mindfully eating and listening to the tape regularly.

My thing is that i need to eat when I'm hungry only. So difficult when giving everyone else their meals. I'm OK with stopping when full, and have got bin to the habit of eating of side plates rather than full size dinner plates.

Anyone lost weight yet. I seem to have gained, since eating what I wasn't, and am hoping that this is just temporary. pm

Jellybean456 · 20/11/2013 13:18

Correction= 'since eating when I want'

Pm not supposed to be in sentence

MillyRules · 21/11/2013 00:03

Hi Jelly when I eat very mindfully I tend to lose weight.

MillyRules · 21/11/2013 00:07

jelly looking back over what you have written you seem to be having slight difficulties with over eating and emotional. Have a look back over the thread to your posts. Smile

MillyRules · 21/11/2013 00:11

That may be why you have gained a little. It takes awhile to eat when your hungry and stop ad soon as you don't feel that " hunger" anymore. It may be just a few mouthfuls only. Keep checking in after each mouthful and ask yourself , am I still hungry or could I stop now. It's a fine line.Smile

MillyRules · 21/11/2013 00:13

Solo, Faith where are you??

MillyRules · 21/11/2013 00:15

Very you still doing it?
For me now overeating is something I don't do as I feel horrible and hate that stuffed feeling.

TheDoctrineOfWho · 21/11/2013 01:08

I found it helpful to start with leaving just one mouthful - get out of clean plate syndrome!

Solo · 22/11/2013 17:20

Bonjour! I am here, but am coughing and spluttering atm. I need to get back into the arena and lose weight. I will return once I have got rid of my ills.

Can I join? I actually did ICMYT and followed this thread a couple of years ago and it was so good but I managed to self sabotage big style.
I feel I have hit rock bottom. I am the heaviest I have ever been and I am ready to change. I'll go back and catch up with the thread now.
