Welcome to thread 13 of the Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin weight loss system.

The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded friendly support system are:

1. Eat what you WANT
2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. After all, eating a meal is not a competition, it's about enjoying what you are putting into your mouth, but not feeling bloated and uncomfortable (or guilty) afterwards!
Many people have issues around food. Many of us have been brought up by the 'clear your plate' parents of yesteryear which leave us feeling guilty if we leave even the smallest morsel of food, but we are working through this guilt or any other hang up we may have, and we are learning to leave a bit on the plate; return to it another time if we really want to or even feed it to the dog or the bin!
So!! forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!! Let's get lighter for those Christmas outfits!!

The Paul McKenna system really works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

You don't have to buy the book and CD, but we have found that they do help and somehow they keep you on track, so it would probably be a good investment and will cost you far less than a couple of trips to WW or SW meetings, so do consider having them in your life.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry and that is a great way to feel when you are dropping dress sizes at the same time!!! so come on in and start living your new life today and make 2013 your year to drop a dress size or several...if we can get those lbs off a few at a time, just think how we could look and feel for Christmas and The New Year!!!
Some of our thread members are also doing PMK's Virtual Gastric Band and although this thread is not about this avenue, we will still be supportive of our friends partaking of this, so don't think we wont be there for you. I'm pretty sure that the Golden Rules will be just as helpful in this process as the I Can Make You Thin process :) so get stuck in :)

The chewing and eating totally in the moment is very important. It's the difference between eating whatever is in front of you and possibly stopping half way through cause you are satisfied.....not full. Grin

Jellybean456 · 05/11/2013 21:58

Thanks Viv and Milly

I will do that. If I lose control again, to make sure that I chew 20 times in order to get that satisfied feeling.

As I was eating however, I did tune in to find out why. I think that I maybe feeling a little low. I have felt like this for a couple of weeks. I feel that I was eating in order to make myself feel happier.

I wonder if my seratonin levels are low? I do exercise for 2 hours a week, and take the dog for short walks.

I have an under active thyroid gland so I don't know if its connected.

MillyRules · 05/11/2013 22:31

Sometimes when we eat too much and we feel full then we have tried to push our feelings away by overeating. Fullness can be comforting.

MillyRules · 06/11/2013 14:06

Morning Ladies, how's it going? I've lost a little more so am feeling that I'm back on track. Smile

Cupcake1982 · 06/11/2013 15:14

Afternoon all:)

I am considering following pm (I have in the past)
What I really want to know though is has anyone actually lost weight following it?

Thanks :) xx

MillyRules · 06/11/2013 15:24

Hi Cupcake....your back. Yes most definitely people have list weight on this woe. All of them. Some have regained a little cause they stopped eating mindfully but are working on it again. Others have lost all the weight and then there are the ladies who are in the beginning and middle of their weightloss.
Didn't you have a facebook page and were on this thread awhile back?

shezam · 06/11/2013 18:10

ive been following for 9 days now. lost 5.5 lbs. very very happy. been savouring every mouthfull and definetly eating smaller portions x

MillyRules · 06/11/2013 19:21

Well done Shezam.

Jellybean456 · 06/11/2013 20:32

Think I know why I was over eating and being out of sorts, TOTM came today. I have a splitting headache, and feel yuck. So short message today. Will come back on when feeling better.

Cupcake1982 · 07/11/2013 09:30

Morning ladies :)

Yes I was on here a while ago MillyRules but didn't have a face book page so maybe it was someone else?

Shezam, well done on the weight loss!

I have decided that as of today I am following the rules :)
I need to dig out my book and cd but know the 4 rules so getting going now!!
I have lots of weight to lose but I also have an awful relationship with food, constant on/off a diet and stuck in this cycle :(

I need to develop 'normal' eating habits and listen to my body (and I had better lose weight along the way :) )

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

MillyRules · 07/11/2013 11:32

Hi Cupcake.....No your weren't the facebook lady lol!!! But I do remember you. Welcome!!!!! Can I ask what stopped you doing PM before and what diets (you referred to your diet on off cycle? Just curious as diets really do suck us in with the promise that "this will be the one that works" affect that is always hard to resist isn't it. Thing is, with this woe you do reduce your calories but only by listening to your bodies actual hunger not by adding up figures. smile

Cupcake1982 · 07/11/2013 11:54

I'm not sure why I stopped to be honest! I sometimes panic about my weight and then I think I need to go on a 'strict diet' so I can try and get it off as soon as possible!!!
I have done both slimming world and weight watchers and they do both work short term but then I come off of them and gain even more weight!!

I just want to be 'normal' I want a 'normal' relationship with food and to be a 'normal' weight :)

I don't aspire to be a size 10 just comfortable in my own skin :)

MillyRules · 07/11/2013 12:31

I find it takes about 6 months to really be doing this woe naturally. Its worth it just if you maintain for a bit . It gets you off the merrygoround of diet binge diet binge and once you relax into eating mindfully the weight does come off.

Cupcake1982 · 07/11/2013 17:52

Well today I have listened to my body and its resulted in me eating a slice of toast about 10 am, a sandwich for lunch and breaded fish, mash and beans for tea tonight!
I have eaten much smaller portions than usual too :)

TheDoctrineOfWho · 07/11/2013 21:45

Hello all

Life is finally settling down after a hectic period so hopefully I can avoid sandwiches on the bus (tonight's dinner!) and start to eat more consciously again.

Cupcake1982 · 08/11/2013 12:30

I have woken up on day 2 feeling positive :)

Jellybean456 · 08/11/2013 19:42

Hi All

Feeling back to normal now. Think the headstands at yoga today helped. I will be honest though, and say that I haven't been eating mindfully whilst out of sorts. Yesterday and today ate breakfast early in order to relieve the migraine.

Also think the choc I stocked up on did'nt help. I've probably eaten more chocolate than I ever would, after stocking up on it. Don't really agree with all that book ' beyond choc advises' and just going to stick to PM. Have just got his I can make you thin book to read through. Although I've read the gastric band book, there may be more in his original book to follow.

Going to start afresh from now.

Well done Shezham. Hi Cupcake and TD.

Millyrules- can't wait for it all to come naturally. It's so good to hear advice from someone that's done this woe for a while. Gives me hope.

MillyRules · 09/11/2013 11:03

Hi Ladies
Jelly..... just give it all time. If you stick to the rules most of the time you will succeed. I know its hard to break free of the diet mentality and the lure of going on another diet is always there. I get migraines, very badly someday and I am in bed vomiting for twenty four hours. Just go with whatever your body wants. I havnt read beyond chocolate but I have a drawer full of the stuff ( chocolate that is) and it never bothers me now. If I want it I have a bit but that's it. If I deny myself any food I will always crave it. If I have the foods I enjoy in my kitchen, I never overeat anything. I used to but nit with this way of eating. Smile

MillyRules · 10/11/2013 14:36

Ive had a lovely chocolate hob non with cup of tea for breakfast then scrambled eggs on toast with salty Welsh Dragon butter followed by three tiny Cadbury choc bars. The teeny tiny ones. Yum. Am feeling most content Grin

MillyRules · 11/11/2013 15:52

Hi Everyone....anybody still here?

MillyRules · 11/11/2013 23:38

Just me then......listened to my cd today. O it was so lovely and really went under and felt so relaxed after. I find that the more I listen to it the easier I find it to do mindful eating. I need to get back into my gym too and get back to toning up. I have been doing a lot more walking so that's good. See if there is anyone else on here tomorrow....fingers crossed......Smile

MillyRules · 12/11/2013 14:51

Well since this thread seems to have become dead I will stop posting.

shezam · 12/11/2013 17:10

My weekends I think will be my downfall. :( hope to catch up with everyone soon xxxSmile

MillyRules · 12/11/2013 17:28

Shezam thank goodness.....someone is still here.
Sounds like you either self sabotaged here or you felt good about losing weight and stopped concentrating. Maybe.....

MillyRules · 12/11/2013 17:28

I keep listening to the CD and it makes me feel amazing and does keep me on track since I rebooted my self.
