Welcome to thread 13 of the Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin weight loss system.

The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded friendly support system are:

1. Eat what you WANT
2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. After all, eating a meal is not a competition, it's about enjoying what you are putting into your mouth, but not feeling bloated and uncomfortable (or guilty) afterwards!
Many people have issues around food. Many of us have been brought up by the 'clear your plate' parents of yesteryear which leave us feeling guilty if we leave even the smallest morsel of food, but we are working through this guilt or any other hang up we may have, and we are learning to leave a bit on the plate; return to it another time if we really want to or even feed it to the dog or the bin!
So!! forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!! Let's get lighter for those Christmas outfits!!

The Paul McKenna system really works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

You don't have to buy the book and CD, but we have found that they do help and somehow they keep you on track, so it would probably be a good investment and will cost you far less than a couple of trips to WW or SW meetings, so do consider having them in your life.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry and that is a great way to feel when you are dropping dress sizes at the same time!!! so come on in and start living your new life today and make 2013 your year to drop a dress size or several...if we can get those lbs off a few at a time, just think how we could look and feel for Christmas and The New Year!!!
Some of our thread members are also doing PMK's Virtual Gastric Band and although this thread is not about this avenue, we will still be supportive of our friends partaking of this, so don't think we wont be there for you. I'm pretty sure that the Golden Rules will be just as helpful in this process as the I Can Make You Thin process :) so get stuck in :)

Ps. I even threw some bits on my plate at the end away. However they were bits of yellow pepper, wraps and cucumber.

Vivacia · 04/11/2013 14:31

Heh. The bits I leave for Paul are often the most unappetising bits.

I had half a bag of crisps, probably 10 olives and some garlicy mushrooms. There were no Oreos in the cupboard so I had a penguin from the packed lunch cupboard instead.

MillyRules · 04/11/2013 15:38

Me today.
two oatcakes with brie
omlette with bacon and red pepper.

veryberrybug · 04/11/2013 17:07

woke up hungry! had a little porridge thing but the portion was too small, so after getting school stuff ready i came back & had a half-bowl of granola with almond milk.
then sustained well (even through a thirst-mistaken-for-hunger) with some vegetable juice midmorning.
nuts & dried fruit @ midday with ginger tea - seemed to help heartburn hooray! was blethering though but still fairly mindful, just not eyes-shut-in-silence mindful!
then pumpkin soup & cheesey toast for late lunch @2.30. found it hard not to wolf it.
dried fruit & chocolate buttons for a light snack. switched off ipad because was about to multitask
torn for tea because DDs & i want opposite foods...

i'm going to have an early night with Paul tonightWink

jelly thoughts: ooh yes i love tomato ketchup crisps! DD1 jokingly asked if a packet counts as two of her 5-a-day (tomato & tatty) LOLGrin. it sounds like you're doing really well because you're noticing allsorts & not chiding yourself for eating previously forbidden foods. good you noticed the eaten-when-full muffin-mistake, you'll be less likely to repeat that.

Jellybean456 · 04/11/2013 17:49

Well had tea with hubby and daughter, big mistake as hubby was chatting to me throughout, and could'nt understand when I said that I would talk after my meal, as I wanted to concentrate on my food. So although I tried, it was difficult to be mindful of what I was eating.

However, I cheated on using smash instead of real potatoes for tea, big mistake. Did not realise how awful it tastes. Going to throw the tubs away, and do my mash the potato and cheese bake way in future.

Observations with this WOE: food that I have eaten in the past I have realised I do not like after mindful eating, and have thrown them away. Choc weetabix, tubs smash, sweeteners, certain breads.

Also realised that I don't need to snack in between meals. Just add the bits I fancy to my meals, when I am hungry.

Have had cashew nuts, and four small squares of choc this way today. The choc tasted absolutely divine.

Enjoying a caffe latte tonight.

Vivacia · 04/11/2013 21:55

Finished the day off with a tomato and basil pasta dish, smaller portion than usual and still left some as I was full. Two Oreos during the evening.

It's really helped having the thread to report back to, made me feel accountable. Made me think how useful a face to face group would be. Had a google but although a "Thin Club" exists it's only in the US.

MillyRules · 04/11/2013 22:16

Went for date night at cinema and had a coffee and revels .
Havnt eaten much today. Not that hungry. Smile

Jellybean456 · 05/11/2013 08:30

Just had breakfast, now full. No more to eat now till hungry.

Things to do in addition to 4 rules:

no more weighing, go by clothes instead.

No more calorie counting

No thinking of food. Find other things to focus on.

Vivacia · 05/11/2013 11:00

Breakfast was half a normal bowl, but not eaten mindfully due to visitors appearing.

no more weighing, go by clothes instead

Definitely, and also how you feel about your body (for me it's my tummy). I love how Paul McKenna makes you think really positive thoughts about your body rather than saying the most horrific things about yourself that you'd never dream of saying to someone else.

MillyRules · 05/11/2013 11:35

pp, Solo, Faith, BBB where are you all and how's it going for you.? Smile Smile Smile

MillyRules · 05/11/2013 11:38

Very..... your pumpkin soup has made me drool. I will have to make some. Well done on the feeling much better on the binging front. Grin

MillyRules · 05/11/2013 11:38

bingeing

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 05/11/2013 13:21

I am parked up in the car with Faithlet snoring in the back. Think I'll be here for a while!

Doing a bit better. Have been sleep training the munchkin and she's generally sleeping much better. I seem to eat better when she's slept better (not scarfing carbs to stay awake!) so hopefully we're turning a corner.

MillyRules · 05/11/2013 13:27

O that's brilliant news Faith . Glad little one is sleeping better but mote importantly, that you sound better and more up beat in yourself.Smile

ppeatfruit · 05/11/2013 14:05

Hi everyone I've decided to leave this thread Sad for a few reasons the main one being I don't need it for weight loss. Also I'm not keen on confrontation.

Good luck to the newbies it all sounds good well done!

MillyRules · 05/11/2013 14:38

That's a shame pp but of course you must do what is right for you. It's great to see some new people who ate losing weight doing Paul McKenna. Definitely renews my faith in this way of eating . Good Luck. Grin

MillyRules · 05/11/2013 14:41

pp.... why not start your own thread for like minded people following your Blood Group Diet and your Hay Diet. Grin

ppeatfruit · 05/11/2013 14:51

I have thought of it there ain't many weirdos like me though!

MillyRules · 05/11/2013 14:54

Try doing one......nothing to lose ( weirdo !!!! lol !!!).Grin

Vivacia · 05/11/2013 15:26

Great to hear that you're happy with your weight pp and sorry to hear that you feel the thread has been confrontational in some way.

ppeatfruit · 05/11/2013 15:42

Thanks Viv I've been on here a LONG time I'm ready for a change Grin. I started a new thread Milly we 'll have to see!

MillyRules · 05/11/2013 15:53

Go you !!!! pp

Jellybean456 · 05/11/2013 16:40

Not good day today. This afternoon was not hungry, but ate loads of crap. Cashew nus( ate last of them), Nutella on breadsticks and couple of fun size mars bars. Feeling low, plus 3 yr old wearing me out.

Not feeling that I am sticking to Pauling today. Need my 3 yr old to go to nursery, so I can have a break. Starts in January for the 15 hrs per week, and i can't wait.

MillyRules · 05/11/2013 16:55

pp....had a look for your thread....was expecting Blood Group Diet or Hay Diet. Found it eventually. Do you think you might also start a Blood Group Diet separately and see if that gets some interest? Just that it's more specific. I'm sure there must be lots of people who would be interested.Grin

Vivacia · 05/11/2013 17:58

Jelly I just read that if you do only one thing, chew each mouthful 20 times. Is that something that might help?
