Welcome to thread 13 of the Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin weight loss system.

The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded friendly support system are:

1. Eat what you WANT
2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. After all, eating a meal is not a competition, it's about enjoying what you are putting into your mouth, but not feeling bloated and uncomfortable (or guilty) afterwards!
Many people have issues around food. Many of us have been brought up by the 'clear your plate' parents of yesteryear which leave us feeling guilty if we leave even the smallest morsel of food, but we are working through this guilt or any other hang up we may have, and we are learning to leave a bit on the plate; return to it another time if we really want to or even feed it to the dog or the bin!
So!! forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!! Let's get lighter for those Christmas outfits!!

The Paul McKenna system really works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

You don't have to buy the book and CD, but we have found that they do help and somehow they keep you on track, so it would probably be a good investment and will cost you far less than a couple of trips to WW or SW meetings, so do consider having them in your life.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry and that is a great way to feel when you are dropping dress sizes at the same time!!! so come on in and start living your new life today and make 2013 your year to drop a dress size or several...if we can get those lbs off a few at a time, just think how we could look and feel for Christmas and The New Year!!!
Some of our thread members are also doing PMK's Virtual Gastric Band and although this thread is not about this avenue, we will still be supportive of our friends partaking of this, so don't think we wont be there for you. I'm pretty sure that the Golden Rules will be just as helpful in this process as the I Can Make You Thin process :) so get stuck in :)

I was very naughty last night. I took my son out for a curry and I ate everything despite being full before I'd finished! Blush

ppeatfruit · 03/11/2013 11:23

Well i overate dh's amazing organic roast chicken \parsnips\carrots\ and wine gravy Blush we can just reboot today though can't we? how are you sols?

veryberrybug · 03/11/2013 12:16

LOL was it a full moon last night & thus why we all overate?!! Grin rebooting it is.

i had reached critical mass with my exhaustion (which is always bad for my eating because i seek out sugar when i actually need sleep) & now i've had a massive lie-in & feeling well recharged from my lazy day yesterday. late breakfast, & i tried to leave my toast crusts i really did but they were yummy & i was still hungry so they've gone. heheh feeling like lunch is no far away either XD

faith yes i'm glad i'm eating GF now & not 10 years ago, i've found some delicious crackers & sweet tasties by mrs. crimble Smile but where did you get the wraps of which you speak? i was wondering if i'll ever have fajitas again & no found a GF substitute wrap yet.

solo like the NC! Wink

veryberrybug · 03/11/2013 12:18

p.s. pp when you come to be my housekeeper with your wafts of essential oils, could you periodically draft in hubby to make an organic roast for us? Grin sounds amazing. right, best get on; house won't sort itself!

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 03/11/2013 14:21

Jellybean456 · 03/11/2013 14:37

Hi All

Sounds like some of us have have slipped a bit or overeaten. I'm sure it's not a problem once in a while. We just move on and do the four rules again, right?

I've just slipped up. Had a lovely lunch on my side plate. Fitted in some cookie dough chip ice cream, And then whilst making coffee, helped myself to a delicious choc and cherry muffin filled with fresh cream. It was so naughty, as I was full, but lovely.

Went shopping this morning, and topped my cupboards up with things I deprive myself of: choc, popcorn, Nutella, pack fun size mars bars, cookie dough ice cream, crisps. Also bought bananas and apples, so not all sugar.

Got this tip from book beyond chocolate, which states that by buying loads of the things you avoid, they no longer become that attractive, if you know they are there. Also that there is nothing wrong in having these if you want, as you are not depriving yourself, you won't gorge on them. Well, I hope not.

I will eat the things I fancy when I am hungry, but not as snacks.

Hi Very- the book is beyond choc that I'm reading.

Feel the need for top up with hypnosis though, so going to do that tonight as my re boot.

I feel so full now, don't think I am going to be hungry for ages now.

MillyRules · 03/11/2013 17:51

Jelly this is what I am constantly saying is the way to overcome overeating. You have to have the food you enjoy in your house and even if you start off overeating them, eventually they will become " normalised and you can take them or leave them. I have been doing this for twenty years and its sooo important to see all food as just food.

MillyRules · 03/11/2013 18:22

Of course Paul also stresses the importance of legitimising all food. Smile

MillyRules · 03/11/2013 19:24

legalizing.....bloody phone

sent from my HTC

Vivacia · 03/11/2013 21:02

Tomorrow I'm going to have the best Paul Day ever, and really focus on all of the rules. Does anyone want to join me and/or hold me accountable?

veryberrybug · 03/11/2013 22:35

yey i'll do it with you viv should be a challenge to be slow for me cos now i'm workin tues/wed/thur i feel the pressure that i have to get everything done on a monday that used to take me four days!

FFS i've still got effing heartburn, even every time i drink herbal tea (even the one with fennel, which is supposed to help) every swallow just triggers it. earth clinic says apple cider vinegar so i'm off to seek that tomorrow. any other ideas?

jelly i like your shopping list. i found that on initially allowing myself everything i did go a bit overboard on the sweet tasties (no problem, it's allowed!) but after a while i found i naturally didny fancy them all the time. only after i had the dieter's panic that i'd be a greedy pig forever, but as Paul said my body balanced itself out, came good in the end when i stopped interfering.

pp how long did it take for the turmeric to sort DSs cat allergy out? i'd stopped but started again this weekend because we've had a gorgeous kitten for a week now & i love her but feel a bit phlegmy

thanks faith i'll keep an eye out for them

Jellybean456 · 03/11/2013 22:38

I'll join you Viv. I re booted tonight by listening to the trance again, and ready to go.

Strange day today re this WOE. I did well today following the rules, apart from lunch, when I ate a cake after already being full.

I should'nt have eaten this. It does'nt matter that it was a cake, but the fact that I was full. I've moved on from it, but should probably have done the havening or craving buster, or the panic trance.

What do you think?

Anyway, looking back over today, when I've eaten what I've liked, including chocs, ice cream and cake. I just wondered how many calories I had consumed.

Now, I know that you're not supposed to count calories ( this is not a diet), but I was curious.

I expected my calories for the day to be over my BMR. Anyway, it turned out to be 1340 kcals, well below my BMR, and at a rate I would lose weight.

This proves to me that this WOE is brilliant.

As we are going by our body's signals, in my mind I felt that I had eaten loads today and over what i should have done, however i was totally satisfied.

But I also had a bit of guilt, as still not used to eating like this.

My next few meals that I want when hungry are:

A crisp buttie - bought some tomato ketchup crisps today. Does anyone remember tomato crisps. I loved them as a kid, and used to love crisp sandwiches.

With a few spicy cashew nuts

Quorn sausages, mash and peas with gravy

I feel like I am getting all the foods I've been depriving myself out the way at the moment. This might go on for a little while I think until they are out of my mind.

Notice that I've got a cupboard full of chocolate at the moment, but I haven't felt the need to put them on my list.

Any thoughts anyone?

Also PP, you never told me what IMO and E means? I'm not totally up with all the online abbreviations, so did'nt quite understand your post.

Jellybean456 · 03/11/2013 23:06

Ps. What I ate today:

Breakfast :1 slice of hovis thick bread buttered with peanut butter/ 3 mini choc eggs
Caffe latte

Lunch: Chicken risotto
Ben and Kerry's cookie dough chip ice cream
Chocolate and cherry fresh cream muffin
Couple of sips of shiraz red wine

Coffees and teas throughout the day

No evening meal as not hungry

Jellybean456 · 03/11/2013 23:07

' Ben and Jerrys'

Vivacia · 04/11/2013 06:27

IMO = in my opinion
IME = in my experience

Listened to the trance last night, reset the journal (I'm using the app) and am ready to go.

I liked the calorie counting experiment above. I've never counted calories, so found it interesting information.

Ok, ready to go. My tricky bit will be eating whilst not doing anything else at the same time.

Vivacia · 04/11/2013 08:56

So far, so good. Tried to be aware of the physical side of doing the animals / housework routines this morning, you know, "Moving your body". Consciously poured myself a small bowl of cereal, focused on each mouthful and when I realised I'd eaten a spoonful without thinking I stopped. Feel pleasantly full / satisfied now.

Jellybean456 · 04/11/2013 09:24

Hi Viv

Not eaten yet as not felt hungry, just drinking a coffee now. Going out soon, so bringing my tomato ketchup crisps and a banana with me in case I start feeling hungry.

Having a good and full housework day today, in between keeping little one occupied and walking the dog. If I get all the chores out the way today, then I've got the rest of the week to do what I want.

Cooking an easy and simple meal for everyone this evening:
Sausages, mash, peas and gravy.

shezam · 04/11/2013 11:17

mmmmmm sausages, mash, peas and gravy. You forget the things you can have when you've been dieting for so long!

Vivacia · 04/11/2013 11:31

Still going good. Felt a bit peckish just now as I passed through the kitchen, but stopped myself from eating as I'm not actually hungry. Am thirsty though, so have got myself a drink instead.

MillyRules · 04/11/2013 12:52

Doing well ladies Grin

MillyRules · 04/11/2013 12:54

Haha!!! just saw Solos Bonfire name.....brilliant!!Wink

MillyRules · 04/11/2013 12:54

How's it going for you Shezam Smile

MillyRules · 04/11/2013 12:56

Solo did you take the name "Solo* from the series of the same name with Felicity Kendall??? Loved that series and The Mistress.

Vivacia · 04/11/2013 13:18

Dinner was a bit tricky. Just wanted to sit and shovel food in to my mouth whilst surfing the net. Gave myself half portions just in case, and did my best. Think I managed ok, did focus on most of the mouthfuls and have eaten half what I normally would. Might have an Oreo now.

Jellybean456 · 04/11/2013 13:29

Well done Viv. I bought my food out with me, and then about 11 little decided she wanted my banana, so I peeled it back for her. She then decided she did'nt want it, so I was left with this lovely looking banana in my hand and ate it.

I then started to feel hungry after it ( I don't know why), so when I got home at 12, I put all the things I fancied on a plate, started eating them at 12.30 and finally finished at 1.15 pm.

In between looking after little one etc.

However when I ate, I had it all on a plate, and tasted and savoured every bit. Hence why it took so long.

I had: some chopped yellow pepper, diced cheese, cucumber, half a small wrap, houmous, spicy cashews, tomato ketchup crisps.

Afters: rest of Ben and jerrys cookie dough ice cream, and 2 fun size mars bars.

Satisfied feeling, no hunger, and just enjoying a caffe latte now.
