Welcome to thread 13 of the Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin weight loss system.

The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded friendly support system are:

1. Eat what you WANT
2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. After all, eating a meal is not a competition, it's about enjoying what you are putting into your mouth, but not feeling bloated and uncomfortable (or guilty) afterwards!
Many people have issues around food. Many of us have been brought up by the 'clear your plate' parents of yesteryear which leave us feeling guilty if we leave even the smallest morsel of food, but we are working through this guilt or any other hang up we may have, and we are learning to leave a bit on the plate; return to it another time if we really want to or even feed it to the dog or the bin!
So!! forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!! Let's get lighter for those Christmas outfits!!

The Paul McKenna system really works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

You don't have to buy the book and CD, but we have found that they do help and somehow they keep you on track, so it would probably be a good investment and will cost you far less than a couple of trips to WW or SW meetings, so do consider having them in your life.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry and that is a great way to feel when you are dropping dress sizes at the same time!!! so come on in and start living your new life today and make 2013 your year to drop a dress size or several...if we can get those lbs off a few at a time, just think how we could look and feel for Christmas and The New Year!!!
Some of our thread members are also doing PMK's Virtual Gastric Band and although this thread is not about this avenue, we will still be supportive of our friends partaking of this, so don't think we wont be there for you. I'm pretty sure that the Golden Rules will be just as helpful in this process as the I Can Make You Thin process :) so get stuck in :)

pp you said you don't Luke following the blood type diet . Nothing wrong with a bit of cake or sweeties in moderation. I don't get fat or ill from having them if and when I want them.
pp you appear to be in a contradiction. You do the blood type diet cause you feel that it stops you becoming ill but you say you don't like it. You told me that if I did the blood type that I should view it in a way that I should be positive about the foods I am allowed to eat. To me you eating in a disordered way and not in keeping with the spirit of the way we are trying to eat on this way of eating.

MillyRules · 30/10/2013 10:45

Dis-ease is when the body is not at ease.

Vivacia · 30/10/2013 10:49

So you mean "unease" then?

MillyRules · 30/10/2013 10:52

pp.....I just don't get it. I say I'm going to listen to the cd and kick start my mindfull PM eating again and you offer some tips which are to do turmeric and olive oil and to do the " Blood Type Diet"!! I thought you would go e tips on eating within the PM way not telling me to diet.
Please stop trying to get people to eat the way you feel is the best way. It's not for everyone that's why we have come to this thread. We are fed up of " fad " diets that promise this or that. Um trying to eat by the principles if this thread.

ppeatfruit · 30/10/2013 10:54

What is an 'ordered' way of eating? no one really knows unless we go back to the stone age Grin we'll agree to differ but I do remember you saying you were ill on your usual diet.

I always question what I do in life i don't follow rules for the sake of it (i tailor my blood type WOE to suit me) I only meant that if I ate EXACTLY what I wanted e.g. what I liked as a child I'd be ill so I don't.

MillyRules · 30/10/2013 10:57

dis gives the opposit meaning to something. So dis-ease is when the body is not at ease.

MillyRules · 30/10/2013 10:58

I don't think I have said I am I'll on my usual diet only that I know I have foods I avoid.

MillyRules · 30/10/2013 10:58

ill

MillyRules · 30/10/2013 11:03

pp I respect that you eat how you do because you feel it keeps you healthy. It may work for you but you are suggesting it to me time and time again when I and some of the others have said that we are not interested.

MillyRules · 30/10/2013 11:07

pp You know people come to this thread to stop diets as they have done them for years and are tired of it and some even have severe eating disorders. This woe is to help them to normalise food again but if you don't mind me saying so, you are derailing all that with your talk of good and bad foods and fad diets. People have left the thread because of it.

Vivacia · 30/10/2013 11:10

I agree with Milly. I think, ppeat, you mean well and what you have to say may be of interest to some people but this thread is not the place to discuss it.

ppeatfruit · 30/10/2013 11:14

That's fine i'll keep my mouth shut. BTW I don't feel it keeps me healthy I KNOW it does, but as I said no one is making you do what you don't want to do .

MillyRules · 30/10/2013 11:23

Viv how are things going with you ?

MillyRules · 30/10/2013 11:24

Solo.....are you managing to get the house sorted?

Vivacia · 30/10/2013 12:11

Thanks for asking Milly. I'm one dress size away from where I'm aiming for. More importantly, I'm happy with the way I'm eating (and not over-eating!).

MillyRules · 30/10/2013 12:41

That's great Viv. I'm maintaining which is great and my weight doesn't go up but really want to lose another stone of fat. That's why I've started listening to the cd again and reading the book. I love his CDs .....so relaxing and after I didn't eat much yesterday so it's working already. Grin Grin Grin Will listen to it every day if I can as that always helps me refocus. Smile

shezam · 30/10/2013 19:01

hi guys. weighed myself today, down 2lb from last week :) can you tell me how the hypnotic gastric band works with alcohol? I have quite a few big nights out planned between now and new year and im not sure what to expect xxx

MillyRules · 30/10/2013 20:17

O well done shezam 2lbs is a great start especially when your eating what you want. Alcohol is different for each of us. I don't drink it myself but I think alcohol can numb your mind so you eat more without realising it. Also it does make you feel hungrier. I wouldn't worry too much about it though. Smile

Vivacia · 30/10/2013 21:19

I remember in I Can Make You Thin Paul responds to the FAQ about alcohol, that nobody ever got fat from drinking so if you want an alcoholic drink, go for it.

I had two thoughts about this. Firstly, I know people who shed the weight when they give up beer for a month (especially men) and secondly, that it's probably psychological. If he advised you not to drink, you'd want it all the more.

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 30/10/2013 21:42

Doesn't the book say it's ok to drink but don't drink during a meal? You're likely to drink more during a meal I think.

Well done Shezam, great start!

HALLOsolohowyouWEEN · 31/10/2013 00:18

Hi pp Grin No to trick or treating for real, but it's my seasonal nc!
Rules, no not really, but I've come up with a plan! I'm going to rent some storage for a while, get the rewiring done and possibly the windows replaced and some plastering before bringing it all back gradually and decluttering it from that angle! also considering going for a third bedroom extension instead of splitting the current master bedroom into two very small areas for the Dc's. It wont be an immediate thing with that though as I think I need to call in the insurance people to look into movement (again!) with the single storey extension and the main building. Last time it was collapsed drains and I'm thinking it could be the same as I have lav drainage problems and odd smells of old/stagnant water in the middle (ish) of the house...not looking forward to it.

Since being assaulted I have turned to food Blush and gained 14lbs of the 28lbs I originally lost. I'm giving a little effort, not much and I've lost 5lbs this week so far. I keep saying that I need to do stuff (I need to lose weight, I need to sort my messy house out etc and talking to a friend of mine, she said that I have to want to sort my house (that was the topic of conversation) rather than need to and she is so right! Soooo, I've changed my outlook and I now want to lose weight and I want to sort my house! far more positive thinking I feel.

MillyRules · 31/10/2013 01:16

Hi Solo well done on the five pounds. That's bloody brilliantGrin . Good idea with the storage idea. At least it frees up space until you sort yourself out more. Not good about possible drainage problems. They will get sorted though. You could even go one step further with the "want" and turn it into a "I am now" losing weight or " I am now sorting out my house" ......maybe.

MillyRules · 31/10/2013 01:19

How you feeling about not working now Solo....do you miss it much? Smile

HALLOsolohowyouWEEN · 31/10/2013 02:03

No, I don't miss it much...can't get my head round needing a job though! I do want to try not to get a job before Feb/March so that I can actually do the house stuff...

Billyjean123 · 31/10/2013 09:13

Hi All
Hope you don't mind me joining in. I've just had the Paul McKenna gastric band fitted, and wanted to mention some of my observations. I last week used it once, but then swapped to his I can make you thin, as I'm only 21lbs overweight now. However I found it difficult to gauge how full I was after eating. So I then redid the gastric band last night, and had some amazing effects.
Straight afterwards, I tested it by eating a banana, which made me fill immediately full. I then had 2 slices of toast, which I did'nt really need, and went to bed feeling full but with horrible heartburn.

This morning I had a small bowl of Cheerios at 8am, felt immediately full, and still feeling stuffed and slightly sick an hour later ( on one small bowl of cereal !! ) So I must have over eaten slightly.

This is brilliant if it continues. I could Definately see a lot of weight coming of quick. Think I am starting to get a bit of heartburn again. Thanks for listening, just been reading this thread, and wanted to let you all know.
