Welcome to thread 13 of the Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin weight loss system.

The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded friendly support system are:

1. Eat what you WANT
2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. After all, eating a meal is not a competition, it's about enjoying what you are putting into your mouth, but not feeling bloated and uncomfortable (or guilty) afterwards!
Many people have issues around food. Many of us have been brought up by the 'clear your plate' parents of yesteryear which leave us feeling guilty if we leave even the smallest morsel of food, but we are working through this guilt or any other hang up we may have, and we are learning to leave a bit on the plate; return to it another time if we really want to or even feed it to the dog or the bin!
So!! forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!! Let's get lighter for those Christmas outfits!!

The Paul McKenna system really works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

You don't have to buy the book and CD, but we have found that they do help and somehow they keep you on track, so it would probably be a good investment and will cost you far less than a couple of trips to WW or SW meetings, so do consider having them in your life.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry and that is a great way to feel when you are dropping dress sizes at the same time!!! so come on in and start living your new life today and make 2013 your year to drop a dress size or several...if we can get those lbs off a few at a time, just think how we could look and feel for Christmas and The New Year!!!
Some of our thread members are also doing PMK's Virtual Gastric Band and although this thread is not about this avenue, we will still be supportive of our friends partaking of this, so don't think we wont be there for you. I'm pretty sure that the Golden Rules will be just as helpful in this process as the I Can Make You Thin process :) so get stuck in :)

Well you know the tried and tested turmeric Grin and nettle tea and or supplements, also artichoke supplements. Don't worry about yr internet being down I find I do a lot more round the house when mine is down (or I force myself to 'sleep' it Grin.)

Or maybe try yr. blood type Blush (she says very shyly) because it's healthy and you never know it may well do it for you! It does do it for me as you know.

MillyRules · 29/10/2013 15:45

pp I know it works brilliantly for you Smile. but when I tried it last time you suggested it it....
( a) brought on feelings of deprivation because for my type there are foods I'm not allowed to eat and that goes against the pm idea and causes disordered eating for me..
(b) I don't fit the profile of an 0 type anyway....doesn't sound like me at all.Smile
BUT thankyou for thinking of me anyway Grin

ppeatfruit · 29/10/2013 15:59

The personality profiles are bollox IMO . P.M. does say that if a food makes you ill it's best not to eat it; if you felt better when you were on it it may be worth persevering because your health is very important after all. IIWM I'd give up one food at a time and see how you feel e.g. wheat which can be replaced with rye bread.rice flour etc.

IMHO it's a matter of being positive thinking what you CAN eat rather than vice versa O types are lucky in that you can eat almost all meats and fish ,sweet potatoes, rice etc. You can make tarts with ground almonds, linseeds etc. I'll help if you like.

There are lots of 'instead of' foods now which is great they may cost more though. Anyhow enough of my lecture you do what you want of course! Grin

MillyRules · 29/10/2013 21:53

pp I eat very healthily and don't eat wheat much but I want to eat normally not diet in any way shape or form. I know for you your blood group diet works and that is brilliant but for me it's restrictive and unnecessary. Thanks anyway.Smile

MillyRules · 29/10/2013 22:31

pp to answer your post. When I tried it I couldn't stick to it because the foods that it said for me to eat don't all agree with me and the ones it said to avoid are good to me. You mention being positive about the foods it allows me to eat........but that is restricting my food choices and is definitely DIET mentality. There are many diets out there like the blood type but I don't want to diet. That's why I'm doing Paul McKenna. pp as I said I'm glad you like doing the diet but it is definitely a diet and it is restricting your food choices and is therefor the opposit of Pauling. There are loads of diets that claim to be good for your health, each of them with ponderous claims , but diets they are. Smile

MillyRules · 29/10/2013 23:19

Sorry ladies for what appears to be my many posts....I only did it once I promise Shock

ppeatfruit · 30/10/2013 08:26

Don't worry about it Milly I will say that what we eat is our diet (it's the diet industry that has given the emotion to the word) e.g. we can have an unhealthy one or a healthy one P.M. is very keen to point out the benefits of a good one and he does reckon we all would choose the healthy option when we CAN choose.

I don't LIKE following the blood type I do it because I want to be totally healthy which it makes me (with a few tweaks; nothing is perfect Grin)

MillyRules · 30/10/2013 09:32

pp that's sad that you are eating in a way that you don't like. That takes the joy out of what eating is all about. What do you think would happen if you stopped eating that way? Sad I'm guessing you believe you will become ill. Slit of illness or " dis- ease" is created within our bodies by our attitudes and what we believe though. Our past can also create dis- ease within our bodies unless we deal with it .

I eat healthily, always have done. I am a lover of veg, salads, nuts and good quality food. I don't drink alcohol anymore cause I'm allergic to it but I do miss good red wine Sad . I have been into alternative therapies for about thirty years now and mindful eating for the last twenty years. I do affirmations and positive thinking, meditate and do yoga and lots of walking. We are definitely what we eat as each mouthful is creating each new cell and repairing the body BUT food is also so much more. It has to be pleasure as well as medicine. Smile

ppeatfruit · 30/10/2013 10:10

We all want to eat 'basically" IMO as we ate as DCs don't we? But if e.g. I shoved sweeties down my throat and had a sugary ,buttery cake or pudding every day i would be ill and overweight so I make my own versions of these foods and have them sparingly. I really enjoy what I eat though Grin

The only food I DO miss is tomatoes; they really give me eczema and I don't want to look like a redcurrant so i don't eat them. I tested out the foods that were my avoids and found out when I didn't eat them I cured the indigestion and occasional IBS/ constipation I'd had for many years that's why I'm on it.

Vivacia · 30/10/2013 10:16

What do you mean by "dis ease" Milly?
