Bugger. I just lost my previous attempt at a post. Second (abridged) version:

Yay! Go Wellies! Must admit I was briefly concerned when I saw your name change. It had slipped my mind that Halloween was nearly upon us... Blush

Well, I walked to AND from work yesterday. Amazing how out of shape I have got in just 10 days of getting the shuttle bus. Very lazy. A new leaf has been turned. DD slept better last night & I feel more energized today so hopefully I can keep it up. I have a couple of weeks off work soon, cue lots of walking & housework, no snacking though. I'm a terror for boredom eating (why do you think I originally took up knitting)?!

lego hurrah for a decent sleep. You give me hope.

Today I have had a croissant, because DH put them in the oven and I couldn't resist. Off clothes shopping today (his idea) so I need to know what to choose. Where is twinkle? I mean, what the hell is "in"? Otherwise I could end up just with underwear Grin.
Lunch out I guess, will try to avoid snacking/ pigging. Dinner will be spaghetti puttanesca.

RubyGoat · 02/10/2013 09:51

Amanda I try not to in for what is 'in', as it will probably be 'out' in less than a year. (I know, very boring.) But, just go for what suits you, fits & flatters, it should still look good well into next season, and the next one, etc.

Threalamandaclarke · 02/10/2013 10:06

Good point lego

Hey all, not stopping today I’m afraid. Too much going on here, not sleeping, anxiety through the roof, etc. Can’t remember what I’ve eaten this week, it’s not been good though.

Hopefully will feel better tomorrow and will post properly then. Hugs to all, am missing "chatting" to you at the moment but not in right place to post properly xx

Threalamandaclarke · 06/10/2013 07:35

Morning
Yesterday
B: cinnamon bagel and coffee. Half an apple.
L: (out) chicken liver pate and focaccia toast, swordfish with provencale sauce and rice. One large glass of wine.
D: 3 crumpets with butter and jam, 4 chips, 4 profiteroles
S: 2 mini falafel, 4 chocolate buttons, 3 digestive biscuits Blush
Really, it's the snacks I'm ashamed of tbh.

Today (plan for)
B: toast. Might end up with bacon and eggs Blush
L: soup?
D: Roast lamb etc.

I will fast on Monday I think. Just need to get my head around it.

Rules · 06/10/2013 16:58

Do you not find that fasting causes overeating when you average it out? To me it definitely brings on the mentality of overeating now cause tomorrow I will starve myself. Confused

Threalamandaclarke · 06/10/2013 17:14

Good question rules
Overall, it would appear not. I really like it as a woe but like any "diet" it's so easy to lose your way now and again. I generally like the combination of intermittent fasting (5:2 for weight loss or 6:1 for maintenance) and the PM "mindful eating" woe. I've lost all my "baby weight" in six months.
I do sometimes have a pre- fast binge Grin and I've not given up any foods. But I don't drink much as I am still bf.
You seem to be doing exceptionally well with your PM thing. I am impressed and I think it's a fairly sustainable woe.

Rules · 06/10/2013 19:08

Thanks TheReal. As long as I stick to mindful eating then I'm good. If I even entertain the idea of dieting I find I lose it and my eating becomes odd again. How old is your baby? Does fasting interfere with breastfeeding for you? I bf my two for a long time and it did help to get the fat off.

Threalamandaclarke · 07/10/2013 17:25

It hasn't interfered with breastfeeding for me.
Still doing it. No change to my supply afaik.

Today (FD)
B: black coffee
L: 2 veggie cocktail sausages (66cals total) 1/4 apple
D: lentil soup. 1 plum of unknown provenience Grin
D/ s: 2 carrot sticks, Cofe and tea with milk.

So, under 500 cals I reckon.

Hi All,

oatcake and cheese and fig and apple chutney

pizza hut pizza ( two slices) big bowl salad

small piece of chocolate cake

Date night tonight. DH and I went to see the film Thanks for Sharing. I didn't like it though. I prefer a film that is more uplifting.

RubyGoat · 08/10/2013 08:24

Hi FRs.

Rules - am Envy at you losing weight by BF. It made me constantly hungry & I actually gained. Sad I also found if I got hungry, thirsty, too hot, or over tired, my milk dwindled. I managed almost 6 months, gave up when DD's 2nd tooth appeared (she is a most determined biter when teething).

Amanda - lol at the 'plum of unknown provenance'! Grin

We've recently got a new soup cookbook (New Covent Garden) & I'm loving their recipes, very filling and lovely. DH thinks so too, I am always trying to think of lovely non-diet, diet food that he will eat IYSWIM. He needs to lose some weight but doesn't want to reduce portion size, doesn't like salad much, won't fill up on veg, won't commit to a particular diet. It seems to be working as he has lost about a stone this year. Yay!

I'm stuck at 9.2. TBH I've not really been actively trying to lose any more just recently, I've been so tired recently that seemed more important. Have managed to improve that a bit. I need to start doing some form of proper exercise, aside from all the walking. However, having said that I'm stuck at this weight, I'm not sure what weight I'm aiming for. Was 8.8 before I got pregnant but wasn't especially healthy, I'm much more toned now than I was then. (My abdominal muscles appear to have given up entirely though. Large baby!) I know I'm still bigger now, but not by much. Think I need to just stop worrying about it for a bit & try to get more healthy, fitness wise & everything else, & ignore what the scales say.

Am also thinking about what I wear as I'm fed up of feeling like I don't quite match, clothes wise. Has anyone had their colours done, did it help? I know what colours I like but it doesn't mean they always suit me. Feel a bit boring & not sure what to do.
