twinkle I hear you on the period thing. It's SO difficult to continue eating healthy during that time. I'm due on this weekend so I'm hoping the nice weather thats forecast keeps me on track with salads and no carbs. Or chocolate.

Weirdly, I'm craving Green and Blacks sea salt chocolate. I've not tried it yet and I'm absolutely desperate to. I haven't tried salted caramel either. I'm imagining salted caramel truffles are divine. I might have to make some when I come back from holiday.

Bakingnovice · 29/05/2013 13:20

Hazel - well done on no snacks! I second the water thing. I drink a lot and my skin looks amazing. Keeps hunger at bay too.

Emily - in Yorkshire it'll defo be tea time not dinner time.
Maybe try some chicken and chips up here. Crispy fried chicken with lovely chips. V unhealthy and only to be had once a year!
Twinkle - welcome back!

Re ultimate food porn. Now this is different to down dirty food. My ultimate food porn would include roast dinner, homemade curry, chips, cheese..... Don't get me started.

Wellies - hope your ok?

twinklestar2 · 29/05/2013 13:48

Hazel it's even worse when you've been trying to conceive your first baby for nearly two years :(

Hazelbrowneyes · 29/05/2013 13:58

Ah twinkle I'm so sorry, I had no idea. Sad Huge, huge hugs for you. That must be so tough xxx

Emilythornesbff · 29/05/2013 15:12

Sorry twinkle
I hope you get what you want very soon

Well I swapped my planned lunch of nothing for a mochaccino with cream (they didn't ask, I couldn't send it back) and an almond croissant.
That was emotional eating. Grrrr.

twinklestar2 · 29/05/2013 15:24

Thx girls. It is very tough but this isn't the thread to talk about it :)

SixPackWellies · 29/05/2013 16:13

Hi all.

Thanks twinkle.

Thanks Baking I am fine. DS is ill though.... taking him to Dr in 2 hours. He has mouth ulcers, but is also generally unwell, and crying and grizzly.

Having an okay day dietwise.... toast and baked beans for breakfast, tuna mixed with light mayo and lots of veg in lettuce cups and dinner will be grilled harissa chicken with steamed veg. No wine today. :)

Emilythornesbff · 29/05/2013 16:40

Poor miniwellies. I hope he's better soon.

Tell me more about Harissa chicken please. I have quite a Harissa habit going.

SixPackWellies · 29/05/2013 16:58

Thanks Em. He has just cried all day, with this funny sort of raspy cry. I am trying to get at his ulcers with bonjela, but it can't just be that, I think.

The harissa chicken just came out of this month's weightwatchers magazine. Top a chicken breast with a teaspoon of harissa and grill until cooked through. Have never tried it before, but I am also very fond of Harissa (eat it like a dip with breadsticks!) so am hopeful it will be a tast addition to my grilled meat variations.

What recipes do you do with Harissa? I have had grilled salmon with harissa and couscous smeread on the top, like a crust, at a restaurant. That was great, but i could never re-create it despite numerous attempts!

Hazelbrowneyes · 29/05/2013 17:26

Aww, wellies, your poor DS.

Well I failed on the no snacking...I convinced one of the lads to give up his orange kitkat Grin only 107 cals though.

I want to go out for dinner tonight. I know, I know! Argh! We've had a new shopping centre built fairly close to us recently and there is one or two restaurants there that I want to try. Obviously, on my last tea break I had a nosey and now I definitely want to go. Tonight. I shall resist and not mention this to DH (as I'm sure he'll want to go too).

As an aside, I had a quick look at one of the beauty salons websites and got a bit of a shock. Looked at mens treatments, saw massages, blah blah blah, then I noticed the box that said inside & outside buttocks & testicles Shock My instant thought was "it's one of THOSE places is it?! Hmm, not happy about that on my doorstep" and then I realised they meant waxing those areas, not massaging. Grin

Emilythornesbff · 29/05/2013 18:21

wellies I just put Harissa in everything. If i had paste i would definitley top some chicken with it, that sounds lovely. At the moment i only have dry harissa spices (bloody sainsbury's) Mainly tomato sauces.
I put it in bean stew (very healthy I think) and I wanted to try a recipe for Harissa lamb that uses minced lamb that I saw on the mumsnet recipe thread, but haven't managed it yet.
I mainly just shovel it in, maybe with pitta bread as a vehicle Grin

hazel ouch. That is all.

Fasting tomorrow.

twinklestar2 · 29/05/2013 23:15

Oh god I've been naughty again today! Back on it tomorrow and back to the gym!!

I feel like I need another goal to focus on. I wanted to get to 10st 7 for last week cause I had an appt with the docs. I got to 10st 8 which I was happy with but now I've got nothing to focus on!

SixPackWellies · 30/05/2013 06:57

Morning all!

Thanks for good wishes for DS. Just general being run down, mouth ulcers and possibly a virus as has some temp spikes. :( Hate seeing them unwell. Off the child minders today, so i am expecting another difficult, grizzly day.

Am 10 stone 9, so am gradually whittling away at it.

Bk - 2 pieces of fruit, and coffee with milk
L- wrapwith tuna, boiled egg, light mayo and lots of salad veg
D- grilled salmon and steamed veg
1 glas of wine after the DCs have gone to bed. i think i will be needing it!

Hope everyone has a good day!

Morning all.

wellies I am drooling at your menu today!

twinkle Don?t worry, we all have off days Smile Hmm, new goal?any events coming up? Parties, weddings, holidays? Is there something you really want to buy? You could buy it as a ?Yay I got to goal!? gift.

Yesterday:
B ? croissant
L ? 1.5 rounds of tuna and sweetcorn sandwiches
D ? chicken curry with poppadums
S ? 2 cups of tea, water, sparkling water, lime and soda, 2 small glasses of wine, 2 finger orange kitkat.

Went to the pub and only had a lime and soda. Then I remembered my friend was on her own for the next few days so went up to see her and had 2 glasses of wine. Doh.

Scales this morning show 9st 0lb.

Today
B ? I have a croissant with me but I also have a mouth ulcer on the side of my tongue (your poor son wellies, they?re horrendous as an adult, let alone as a child) so I doubt I?ll eat it, unless I soak it in tea.
L ? mugshot.
D ? 1 sausage, small amount of mash, peas or broccoli (maybe both actually) and onion gravy.
S ? Who knows?!

I?ve just remembered I?ve got a glut of carrots so might make a carrot soup tonight. I?m not a massive fan of carrot soup though and tomorrow is forecast to be lovely so perhaps not a carrot day. Hmm. What else can I do with the carrots? Please don?t say carrot cake? Wink

Emilythornesbff · 30/05/2013 08:45

Shred the carrot and dress it with lemon juice, salt and some caraway seeds. Or a bit of lime and chilli.

Haven't got up yet as I had a bad night and I'm fasting so dh is giving ds breakfast.

Shall I w I today?

Well done wellies
twinkle onwards and downwards. We can do it.

Emilythornesbff · 30/05/2013 09:30

Oh, oh, oh.
9st 0Lb 4 oz Grin

Probably a fluke but that's a total loss of 1 st 3lb.
10lb to go.

Hazelbrowneyes · 30/05/2013 09:52

Poor Em Sad
Yes, weigh in Grin
Love the idea of the shredded carrot with lime and chilli - thinking that'd go nice with a tuna steak...

Hazelbrowneyes · 30/05/2013 09:53

Woohooooooo!

We're weight twinnies! Grin

Emilythornesbff · 30/05/2013 10:30

Yay Grin
"enjoying" my red bush tea. Smile

Emilythornesbff · 30/05/2013 10:31

Need to go shopping. Will be buying tuna and ryvita nd more soup.

iheartshoes · 30/05/2013 10:47

Well done on the stone weight loss em :)
I had an appalling day yesterday . Was tired and fed up so scoffed a muffin and a twix and half a bar of dairy milk ! I don't think the fasting is going to work for me as I don't seem to control myself v well on NFDs. Going to try low carb again I lost a stone with it before DD so I know it works and it seems to stop my binging
B - 2 boiled eggs
L - ham and cheese salad
D - chilli and cauli rice
S - tea , coffee , lots of water
I feel really gross and blobby today . Hardly any of my pre preg clothes fit and I'm just so tired. Waa. So tempting to think sod it and have a peice or three of cake but I know that will not make me feel any better in the long run. Good luck today all.

Hazelbrowneyes · 30/05/2013 10:54

First hurdle of the day complete...just been to the sandwich van and came back with fruit. No chocolate, no crisps, no pastries. Yay!

So mugshot for lunch, fruit for mid afternoon snackage.

Worrying about having potato for dinner...but...I love potato...I'm thinking tiny portion with lots of veg.

Definitely not going to have wine tonight.

Emilythornesbff · 30/05/2013 10:59

iheart your menu looks delicious. Really nice.
I still sometimes struggle on NFDs, I know what you mean. I'm getting better but it's still something I have to work on. Trouble is, I find it hard to plan very well for myself and there's just so much crap everywhere.
And when I'm tired I often want to give in to cravings.
Although even when I am "naughty" on NFDs I still seem to lse a bit of weight because of the fasting days.

Hazelbrowneyes · 30/05/2013 11:00

Chilli and cauli rice is a lovely combo iheart and you'll get there - you've got the mindset right if you're realising that cake, as yummy as it is, won't help you get there in the long run. x

Emilythornesbff · 30/05/2013 11:01

Well done hazel
Enjoy that potato.
Ditch the wine Smile
