Just thought I would start a new thread, seeing as we are perilously close to the 1000 posts cut off!

We have all started WW this January and so far so good, we are all losing. This is a really supportive group. Please feel free to join us and share your WW tips and any recipes that you may have. Smile

Doretaball that is AMAZING! Grin Grin. Grin Well done I'm very proud. Thanks Thanks

AddictedtoCrunchies · 16/03/2013 21:27

Fled it's Chatham House rules on this thread so you won't be flamed. I'd be exactly the same with the competitive thing. You do what you have to. Wink

I've just had two massive glasses of wine and about a million maltesers which isn't good. Have come to bed now to get away from the fridge. Going to run tomorrow which will offset that slightly Blush Hmm

Night all x

fledtoscotland · 17/03/2013 01:06

Mrsv - yes I am. Sitting here munching rivita whilst others are eating cake Smile

SallyBear · 17/03/2013 10:48

It's St Patricks Day, and we are having Roast Gammon and Colcannon. The kids will be having roasties as they all hate cabbage!

I've really been useless in terms of WW, and I'm going to have to go online and change my WI date to a Monday, as my good intentions will have banished by Tuesday. I'm keeping up with the thread and will be back I promise, with my head back in the game. There have been so many things going on with the kids, which I know is no excuse but they're all a bit all consuming. TDS1 is being Statutory Assessed for a statement (finally) at the age of 13 for Dyslexia and ASD, his TDD has got major surgeries looming and we are still undecided and scared frankly if what we should do. So there's been not so much emotional eating, more a "I'm not WW as I've not got the brain space" type thing.

You are ALL brilliant by the way, and I'm immensely proud of the progress that you've all made and the support that we all give. Grin

Happy St Patricks Day Sally - dinner sounds good. We are having a very traditional Irish dish - lasagna! As requested by DS.

It sounds like you have a lot going on so it is understandable that WW is low down on the priority list. You can't be all things to all people and focus on WW too.

Some good losses - well done. And some inspiring exercise stories. I am rubbish at exercising. Always manage to find an excuse not to do it. But I do really want to do C25K. DH says it will be on my gravestone that I wanted to do it! Now need to prove him wrong! So I will start by getting back to doing what I was doing last year - walking for 40 mins 5 days a week. I go to a toning machine place and it takes me 20 mins to walk there. Have been lazy recently and using the car. Will start walking again this week.

Food wise I haven't been great. Not bad but not great. And haven't tracked. And started yesterday off with weetabix and was then really pickish all day. I did have sensible stuff but too much of it. And then too much wine last night and the inevitable wine munchies.

Have just had WW malted Danish toast with peanut butter. Lunch will be a wrap with salad and hummus. Dinner lasagna and salad. Snacks will be fruit. And I will have to be super good tomorrow too before weigh in on Tuesday.

bigTillyMint · 17/03/2013 11:51

Sally, lunch sounds yumEnvy I am trying to get back on the wagon after Fri/Sat nights, but seem to have lost a pound this weekConfused
Good luck with all the stuff for your DS - fingers crossed it all goes wellFlowers

metro, it's too late now, but if it's a gas oven, could some of the cleaning stuff blocked it somehow? (Happened to me!)

jazzcat28 · 17/03/2013 12:39

Sally I think you are doing amazingly well to manage all your family difficulties and even think about WW let alone follow the plan in any way! I am currently without any DC but have no doubt if and when one turns up (if we are fortunate enough) my ability to stick to a diet will no doubt fly out of the window!

My day today looks like this:

Daily allowance of skimmed milk 3pp

Breakfast - porridge with raspberries 3pp plus milk from allowance

Lunch - half pot of Skinny Glorious Thai Carrot Soup - 3pp, 2 crumpets - 5pp

Dinner - HD jalfrezi 6pp, 1 portion rice 6pp, 1 sainsbo's mini naan 4pp and maybe a couple of mini onion bhajees at 2pp each.

My daily allowance is 34pp so will have to dip into weeklies if I want a pudding. Might just have a cup of Caramel hot choc for 1pp and munch on grapes.

CiderwithBuda · 17/03/2013 13:45

As it is a beautiful sunny day here I decided to put my money where my mouth is and I have just done day one of the c25k podcast. Decided I would walk it and do the first run and see how it went. I ended up doing 6 of the 8 runs! Very pleased with myself and feel I can hold my head up high amongst you runners!

I think I will stick to the 6 runs this week and then do week one again fully next week.

I'm going to New York next May (2014) for my 50th with my sisters. I want to be slimmer and I want to go running in Central Park. One of my sisters runs so we will do it together.

Jazz cat - your menu sounds yum. May steal that for tomorrow! But with cauliflower rice instead of normal. Have you tried it? It's just raw cauliflower grated or put through food processor and then microwaved for 2 mins. Gives that rice feel for zero points.

Bigtillymint - good loss!

fledtoscotland · 17/03/2013 15:39

Jazzcat - is the HD jjalfrezi any good? Like the idea of cauliflower rice so I can have a small naan (5pts) and I feel I'm not missing out.

Had the benefit of sleeping til 2 so going to roast duck breast with Chinese 5 spice for me and DH tonight (9pts).

Dancermeg · 17/03/2013 16:11

Hi everyone,
I'm new to mums net, and also new to WW (on day 7 today) and I just wanted to say I think this feed is great :-)

AddictedtoCrunchies · 17/03/2013 16:24

dancermeg this is the best thread on MN Wink

mrsv2 · 17/03/2013 16:52

today is a goner.......curry buffet lunch in the mess after church followed by cake and cream.
Now attempting to make DDs birthday cake......'the hungry caterpillar' it may be a disaster as i have had wine. I am attempting ( in a big way) to make this www.coolest-birthday-cakes.com/coolest-very-hungry-caterpillar-cake-34.html i sense a disaster and popping to tesco in the morning

mrsv2 · 17/03/2013 16:54

oh and welcome newbies. Well done everyone on the running, i am very impressed i dont even own a pair of trainers. :_)

fledtoscotland · 17/03/2013 17:33

Mrsv - can lend you mine as they are redundant at the moment til it stops snowing Blush

DebussyHead · 17/03/2013 19:36

WI today lost 0.8lb which is my smallest loss to date but still a loss. Also reached 5% target. Today we went to Hotel du Vin for anniversary, they do a 4 course brunch and I had 3 glasses of wine so estimate about 55 points spent at least, gulp!! I'm on 26 a day so seriously dented my weeklies. It was worth it tho.

April will be hard month as I have nights out every single weekend involving lots of food and drink. Must start exercising to help speed up loss, went to download C25K app but my iPhone says needs iOS 5 and I have ios4 so can't do it and computer can't update iOS as says there is not enough PC disc space to. Back up phone arghgh!

Anyway I digress. I must be good this week, stuck to points, meal plan and try to exercise.

jazzcat28 · 17/03/2013 19:54

scotland the HD Jalfrezi was nice but not enough chilli for my DH. I am not brave enough to try cauliflower rice yet but will probably have to have it when my daily points budget goes down.

Welcome to the newbies!

Now I hope we are all organised and ready for the week ahead - I have low point soup and pots of oats all measured out and ready to take to work tomorrow.... WW geek that I am!

fledtoscotland · 17/03/2013 20:00

Jazz - thanks. Might try this week with extra chilli. Cauliflower rice is lovely. Actually prefer it to normal rice now

backinaminute · 17/03/2013 20:06

We've just had the HD Chicken and Ham Tangle Pie and it was delicious. Also, I've made the Fruity Rice Salad today too, for lunches over the next few days - also fab.

I've not had the best weekend. Takeaway last night and two glasses of fabulous wine this evening giving my weeklies a bit of a bashing. Oh well...

Dancermeg · 17/03/2013 21:34

First WI today, and I lost 5lb! 😃Next week is gonna be tough though as I need to save my weeklies for a wedding on Friday where I suspect there will be a lot of alcohol! That coupled with going back to work on Tuesday I think I'm going to struggle!

Any suggestions of tasty, low PP snacks would be greatly received, I found out today that 14 milky bar giant buttons are 4pp which I thought was quite good to satisfy my sweet craving.

mrsXsweet · 17/03/2013 22:12

Wow dancermeg that is amazing, well done! I lost 5lb in total into 1st 2 weeks, I am really hoping to lose 2lb this week to get me to half a stone. Unfortunately the curly wurly's and freddo's I have been eating today won't help the cause.
In a bid to rectify my horrendous eating habits I did day 1 of the 30 day shred. Any suggestions as to how to point it?

Doretaball · 18/03/2013 08:47

Morning all!

Feeling fantastic this morning - another 2.5lbs off! That takes me to 20lbs since 7 Jan. I had hoped I had a good week and I have been pretty good 9 (not perfect) with my points and have walked loads - 33 miles last week.

Wish I could bottle this feeling and bring it out in the afternoons when I'm digging into the peanut butter jar!

I'm also now lighter holding my HUGE 5month old daughter than I was when I started back in January. She is properly heavy so am feeling very proud of myself.

Wine here's to a good week for everyone!

Doretaball · 18/03/2013 08:49

not sure where the random 9 came from - sorry
