Just thought I would start a new thread, seeing as we are perilously close to the 1000 posts cut off!

We have all started WW this January and so far so good, we are all losing. This is a really supportive group. Please feel free to join us and share your WW tips and any recipes that you may have. Smile

Well it was a success despite DS coughing himself sick between courses Sad

The HD lemon and thyme chicken is gorgeous. Really moist and not that hard to do. I managed to serve it all and it was hot. Drank too much wine though so feel a bit jaded this morning. Especially as DS woke me at 6.15Confused . We're now curled up watching some tat on kid's tv.

Have a great day all Smile Thanks

verygentlydoesit · 16/03/2013 08:01

Ive namechanged- usually stick. Will post properly later but just wanted to say I completely agree with fled about the HD paprika chicken. Disappointingly tasteless. I did wonder if it was down to my rather old paprika so I didn't post about it on here, but it sounds like actually it's just not one of their better recipes.

I've also lost masses of weight off my boobs, but still sporting a wobbly tummy and chubby chin Angry. Think I may need to go bra shopping.

Keep going everyone, you all picked me up a few weeks ago when I was flagging. I've lost 4lb since then and I'm so grateful for this thread.

jazzcat28 · 16/03/2013 10:11

Just a quick check in to say I lost 4lb at weigh in today!!! Grin So that's recovered the 2lb I put on last week and lost 2lb extra. Total loss since start of Jan 18lb.

I even had pizza hut pizza this week. Very Happy Jazz today!

DebussyHead · 16/03/2013 10:46

Well done jazz and everyone else on the loses. I've not been on for a while but just tried to read about 2 weeks of thread and v impressed at weight losses.

Big thanks to confusion for pointing the HD book!! I bought it purely cos I found your post so they should give you commission.

Other recipe books to recommend are:
Nadia Sawalha's The Greedy Girl's Diet
Weight watchers Seasonally Sensational
Gino d'accampo's 'Italian Diet' and 'la dolce diet'

I have all these recipe books and they are great esp the Gino ones.

I wondered if you were all managing to incorporate regular exercise into your week? For those that don't (aside from usual housework, running after kids etc) do you still lose consistently? I just can't seem to find time for myself to do dedicated exercise. I have a 2.5 yr old and 4 month old and there isn't a second in the day I am alone to go for a run or exercise class. I have the shred but can't get time for that as baby gets all guerny when I try. I go for pram walks when I can but am in car alot too due to where I live. Anyway I am losing about 1lb a week just through pointing but wonder how much more that could be if I managed say 4x 30 min runs a week. Don't know how to do that with the kids mind.

poorpaws · 16/03/2013 11:13

I can't run but I do walk my dogs for an hour each day and in summer increase this loads and I think this helped my weight loss a lot last year.

This week I've discovered that the Options Belgian hot chocolate tastes so much nicer than the WW one I've been buying for the last 18 months and is still just 1 ppt.

Well done all, great losses except for me, but staying positive and hope for a loss next week. The chocolate bars are going to be hidden (bought another £20 worth at ww meeting - stupid thing to do).

Anyone else at goal but struggling?

DebussyHead · 16/03/2013 11:28

I also discovered the Options Belgian hot choc, I have one every night now with 5 Mikado sticks (1pt) and that satisfies my choc craving and the two combined are only 2ppts.

onthemetro · 16/03/2013 11:55

Congrats on the losses everyone! I just got back from WI and lost 3lbs, I didn't expect to lose that much so I'm ecstatic Grin Got my 5% and I'm 2lbs away from losing a stone Smile Yay Grin

backinaminute · 16/03/2013 12:03

Can I also recommend the cadbury caramel hot choc - also 1pp. I will be adding mikados to my shopping list.

Snack a jack caramel are also 1pp each but 3pp for 2.

A pack of mini cadbury chocolate fingers is 3pp. Although there's not many in a pack it feels like a whole pack of something non-diet (although dp laughs when I eat them and asked why I don't just have 2 normal ones - but it's not the same).

Debussy- I really struggle to find time to exercise too and have dc similar ages. 4 month old ds2 and ds1 who will be 2 next week. 3 times a week I have made myself get up when I've settled the little one back to sleep after his 6am feed. (Well twice a week and a weekend morning). I leave them with dp and have been doing couch to 5k. I'm only on week 3 but have found it actually boosts me more energy wise than that extra hour in bed. I also feel like I've had half an hour of solitude and have felt much better generally about my chaotic life. It says something when that is the only break I get but hey ho! Also it's made me much more confident about using my weeklies because I get such a high daily allowance with extra bf points so have had some lovely treats. I've lost 3.5 and 2.5lbs the two weeks I've done it so I think it helps in lots of ways.

DebussyHead · 16/03/2013 12:46

Oh my god backinaminute I am so impresses you run so early!! I am wrecked in the morning, 4month old DS still feeds every 3hrs through the night and I Often struggle to get back to sleep so jot unusual togave 2-3 hours sleep max. Don't think I'd have energy to get dressed at that time let alone run!! But results clearly pay off. I might seriously consider seeing if I could copy you as DH could look after kids first thing.

You are my inspiration!

jazzcat28 · 16/03/2013 13:05

I've done no exercise whatsoever on my WW journey so far. Think I will start walking more in the evenings once weather is better.

Agree with cadburys caramel hot choc drink - very much satisfies my chocolate craving.

I am now 5lb away from my 10% goal and 6lb away from having lost 2st . Hoping I can do this by 1st weekend in April. If I do manage it then I'll be averaging half stone a month which means I'll be on track to have got to goal ish by start of July!

backinaminute · 16/03/2013 13:07

Haha, I'm only 3 weeks in and ds2 isn't too bad. I have found though that by doing it I feel much better in the day. I'm broken by 7pm so the thought of going out after tea makes me want to cry. Can't say I look forward to it but once it's done I like the feeling. I live in the middle of a small town so the other advantage of that time of day is that there's no chance of seeing anyone I know. Grin

mrsv2 · 16/03/2013 14:11

Debussy.... I too have done no planned exercise. I have a nearly 2yr old and a 6month old. I walk with the double pram if its nice but most of the time DD wants to walk so its a snail pace. Sometimes I babywear my lump of a boy to increase load! I have lost 10lb in 5 weeks but do feel I now need to tone so should try to do the Xbox.

Big news from me..... Just bought 2 pairs of size 12 jeans ( lift and shape from next) I know they aren't exactly oasis or trench connection 12s but they still have a 12 on the label. I haven't been a size 12 since 2003 :-)

DebussyHead · 16/03/2013 15:39

I bought those lift and shape next jeans in size 14 about 6 weeks ago when I started WW. They were really tight at first but now fit nicely. Would be thrilled to be in size 12 though! They are flatering jeans I think.

Loads Of people reaching milestones. Good work ladies!!

onthemetro · 16/03/2013 15:41

That is awesome, Mrsv!

I don't do any exercise either, but I'm hoping to start fairly soon. I feel like I needed to lose a little bit of weight first, as I now have more energy and feel better about my body so I won't mind going outside to do C25K Grin

mrsv2 · 16/03/2013 16:09

The jeans I was wearing are a 16 as between babies I put on loads of weight. I got gestational diabetes with number 2 and was lighter after giving birth than I when I conceived.
So I suddenly feel really skinny ( well slim) as my jeans are a proper fit :-)

AddictedtoCrunchies · 16/03/2013 16:33

Well done Jazzcat and onthemetro for some great weight losses.

Mrsv I DREAM of wearing a size 12, well done. Not sure I ever will but a 14 would be nice.

I've been out at netball all day so popped to Tesco first thing to get some lunch (to stop me eating cake) and bought a Tesco chilli chicken wrap. No mayo so thought it would be ok. Got home and it's 13 points Shock. So I have 2 points left for dinner hmmm that's not going to happen. Looks like I'm out for a run tomorrow!!!

There's half a bottle of wine in the fridge from last night with my name on too..

In other news, is it raining where you are? I keep expecting to see Noah sail pass it's so wet here Smile

mrsv2 · 16/03/2013 16:50

Pouring down, it's miserable :-(

inquisitivemummy · 16/03/2013 18:59

Thanks for the welcome!

Nice to see everyone doing so well!! Hopefully I have a lose to report on Monday

OhTheConfusion · 16/03/2013 19:14

Well done Jazzcat and Onthemetro... FAB!!!

MrsV I honestly fantasize about size 12 clothes, you should be so pleased Grin.

Has been tipping it down here since last night too, we have a big family walk planned for tomorrow and the forecast is 0oc but dry so we will need to get wrapped up. I have been so bored today that I have started to pack u p the house... DH and DC are not impressed as our new home is not yet built and we don't get the keys until the end of May (WHOOPS). I then gutted the kitchen, emptied the shed and I even 'valeted' DD2's pushchair Blush

Doretaball · 16/03/2013 19:42

Thanks Jazz and Metro - will get out some of my old clothes and keep trying them on until they feel nice. Maybe once you've had kids you have to be more concerned about how you look in clothes rather than naked! Also, great tip about tracking measurements, I took them at the beginning of Jan but haven't since.

Crunchie - I am so grateful to you for getting me out running. DP took the girls out girls this morning (treat for me as I am bf the 5m old so pretty tied generally) and so I dug my running kit out and just said to myself that I would see what I could do. I walked for 20 mins to warm up and then started running - 38mins and 3 miles later, I stopped! Can't believe I ran so far and whilst it was really slow, I am so proud of myself. Next time I'll really be able to go is Tuesday night but am looking forward to it already. Thank you - I never would have tried if it weren't for this thread.

I have been walking a lot recently (5ish miles a day) and I'm sure that must have helped loads. I really didn't think that walking was so good for building leg strength and fitness.

Am home alone tonight - so desperately seeking willpower to stay away from the crisps........

mrsv2 · 16/03/2013 19:53

Having a treat meal of Jamie's pasta carbonara..... 20pp but using 6 of my weeklies and I've said no to wine. Also watched dh tuck into chocolate and beer watching the rugby and dd and dh have cake in costas this morning. Proud that i didn't succumb

onthemetro · 16/03/2013 20:28

DP cleaned the oven earlier on today, just went to start cooking and its broken Confused Trying not to buy a takeaway as its a massive waste of points AND money but I don't know what else to do. I'm starving and was looking forward to my creamy salmon pasta Sad

fledtoscotland · 16/03/2013 20:39

Well done on all the losses today ThanksWineThanks

I've managed my first nightshift within my points allowance - thanks to a colleague steeling my ww choc bar at 5am. Still have 19pts left for today so I've successfully managed my two nights without succumbing to the temptations of mini doughnuts/ millionaires shortbread/kettle chips. Sitting next to my overweight colleague has spurred me on further

fledtoscotland · 16/03/2013 20:41

Just reread that and it's sounds horribly bitchy but she's so overweight it's affecting her breathing and she's struggling to walk. She's a good 10yrs younger than me and is "doing" WW as well but was moaning last night that she can't resist crisps and cakes. It's just pushed my competitive button to prove to myself I can do it.

mrsv2 · 16/03/2013 20:55

fledto are you a nurse??? if so and me so well done for resisting goodies on nights, its so hard when you are tired at 4am not to reach for biscuits and chocolate
