Just thought I would start a new thread, seeing as we are perilously close to the 1000 posts cut off!

We have all started WW this January and so far so good, we are all losing. This is a really supportive group. Please feel free to join us and share your WW tips and any recipes that you may have. Smile

Thanks for the tips - am only having one banana a day as high in calories although they are "free". Will avoid the soap thanks but might try a pot of coffee with sweetener in the morning Blush

mama04 · 11/03/2013 22:13

I'd go with the coffee & sweeteners to fledto Wink

Actually dreading Wi tomorrow as I've been really trying so ill be gutted if its only StS Confused

I'm gonna take the dog out tonight 4 an hour for the activity points! Poor wee thing is shattered! Grin

AddictedtoCrunchies · 11/03/2013 22:15

Well I did it. Played quite well, at least I thought I did. Certainly didn't disgrace myself.

It's bloody chuffin cold out though. -3 on the car temp. Brrr Shock

mama04 · 12/03/2013 00:42

Well done crunchie Grin that means you've still "got it" xxx Thanks

outtolunchagain · 12/03/2013 07:57

I have a son who has suffered with constipation all his life. Various things have helped but the absolute fail safe is swimming. Apparently it stimulates the muscles to get going in that area and hey presto problem sortedGrin

mama04 · 12/03/2013 08:58

Just had Wi.... 6lb loss GrinGrin I'm bloody delighted!

Good luck for your Wi confusion Thanks and anyone else who does a Tuesday x

onthemetro · 12/03/2013 09:02

Wow, what a fantastic loss mama! Well done!

I'm having a filling & healthy day today.
Im having dinner at a friend's house and figure if I do F&H it'll be easier as I won't have to stress about pointing things. That makes sense, right? Going to get some activity points in too Grin

fledtoscotland · 12/03/2013 09:49

That's amazing mama! Well done Thanks

Just for everyone's information - coffee with sweeteners has worked Blush

mama04 · 12/03/2013 09:57

Thanks metro Grin I can't do f&h I'm not disciplined enough!

Brilliant news fledto! That must be a relief Wink gonna have a coffee with sweeteners right now!

Sun is out where I am so hopefully I'll manage a few activity points this week, I was looking at c25k has anyone tried it? X

jazzcat28 · 12/03/2013 10:04

Well done on the loss mama!

I've just had a free mini health check at work - obviously I already knew I need to lose weight but the nurse thinks I need to be under 12st for my height which means I've got 2.5st to lose Sad I thought I was doing well but still have a long way to go.

On the plus side my cholesterol and blood pressure are very healthy

mama04 · 12/03/2013 10:16

Thanks jazz Grin

Well done on the bp and cholesterol I hate to think what mines would be like Shock

At 5" 1' my doc thinks I should be aiming for 9.7 stone at least Confused not gonna happen! I'll be happy with 11 Grin

I'm not usually one for bad Mil threads but mine just told me at my bmi I'm eligible for a gastric band! I was ready to strangle the old hag with a gastric bloody band! Wink X

fledtoscotland · 12/03/2013 10:38

Mama- I did c25k last year and got to the point I could run for 20 mins. Don't have the child care to allow running three times a week atm but might go back to it after Easter. I'm a total wimp and hate running in the cold and rain!

mama04 · 12/03/2013 10:52

I'm thinking it might be hard to do 3 times a week with childcare Hmm i am thinking of hiring a treadmill to do it though, or would it not count if I was infront of corrie sipping on tea! Grin

onthemetro · 12/03/2013 11:35

Mama I don't think I'm going to be much good at doing f&h tbh, though it was nice to not measure out my porridge this morning!

I've done C25K in the past, both on a treadmill and outside though I gave up in Week 2 both times - I found it much easier on a treadmill, not sure if that's a good thing or not! I graduate in July and want to look smooookin' by then so DP and I are planning on doing the 30 Day Shred first, then C25K in the run up to my graduation so hopefully I can tone up... So I'll be doing it soon! I think it's great to increase your fitness.

Jazzcat, don't worry about having 2.5st to go, I think nurses/doctors tend to tell you to aim for the lowest healthy weight that's suitable for your height. I think I should be around 10st based on my height but I'm aiming for 12 first, and then I'm going to see how I feel Grin

I had a sneaky weigh on my scales this morning and my chocolate blow out on Saturday doesn't seem to have done too much damage. DP made me point everything and I'd used 48 of my weeklies! Shock But I thought it was a lot more than that so I'm glad I pointed everything up and wrote it down in my WW journal. So, moral of the story is: point everything you eat even if it's bad. Grin

I need to keep this in mind Wink: www.sleekgeek.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/Your-body-keeps-an-accurate-journal.jpg

AddictedtoCrunchies · 12/03/2013 12:18

I did C25k three yearsand ran a half marathon last October Smile. I run twice a week now and have a 10k race next weekend. It does get addictive..

MyDaydream · 12/03/2013 12:19

I've not posted in a whole because I fell off the WW wagon although I still lost 1lb last week despite my pig out, which makes me realise just how much I was eating before if I considered last week bad and still lost.
I'm 12.2 now and my first goal is 11.12 which I want to have reached for a wedding I'm going to on the 30th so doing a bit of a push now.

outtolunchagain · 12/03/2013 12:36

Only 1lb off but I am OK with that , big push this week

backinaminute · 12/03/2013 13:49

I'm on week 2 of C25k and it seems good so far. I'm quite enjoying it. Childcare is an issue but I've picked my moments when everyone is calm, donned my trainers and just headed off down the road, leaving dc with DP. As ds2 is ebf I don't have long between feeds so it suits me well. I like that I can do it whenever.

Crunchie - had you run before doing it? A half marathon is amazing. I can't even imagine running for 5 minutes at the moment. I'm an absolute beginner (understatement of the century).

Pokerprincess · 12/03/2013 14:05

Hi Everyone

I am new to this board though I have been reading and been doing WW since end Jan. I have lost 7lbs and have about 10lbs to go. My problem is that I was ill in hospital 2 weeks ago when I ate nothing for 5 days. In some ways good you think as you must lose weight in that situation - But since I am back to eating I just can't stop, and just not good things, I am ok in the day but then in the evening eating loads of stuff after my dinner. Biscuits, chocolate, ice cream and then bread and cheese - and non of this in reasonable quantities. Everyday I say I'm going to go back on the wagon and every evening I fail and then stop counting my points as it is just so many.

I was doing so well before I got ill and I don't want to put it all back on.

Please does anyone have any tips on how to get back on board or other stuff I can eat that won't ruin everything.

inquisitivemummy · 12/03/2013 14:15

Hey i'm glad i found this thread!

I started weight watchers for the third time last monday....weigh in yesterday i put on 0.5pd but it was my own fault!

anyway was wondering if you can do weightwatchers when your preggers? cause my partner and I are thinging of having another little one and TC starting july. I dont wanna start and have to give up you see.....plus I heard you only have to eat extra on your last 2months of pregnancy, is thats true?

thank you :)

OhTheConfusion · 12/03/2013 16:28

Well done Mama!!! Grin.

I STS this week Sad, I honestly don't know why. I have exercised, stuck to the diet and not touched a drop of alcohol Confused.

Glad to hear it Fledto, there really is nothing worse.

mrsv2 · 12/03/2013 17:04

drawing a big line under last week and back to counting today

___

weigh in day tomorrow to see what damage i have done. Not quite in my points today though as a home made chilli so that 15pp including my rice but managed to only go 1pp over my 26 which is petty good and a gentle reintroduction....... have a few days to be good before the issues of wedding anniversary, DD's 2nd birthday and a girls night out to contend with plus easter. I aim to try to stick to 26pp on the days i can and then after easter get back to it properly. Its so hard isnt it when you have a life aswell. Its easy being at home with just my family to cater for.

mrsXsweet · 12/03/2013 17:04

Mama that is amazing! I need some inspiration, it is only week 2 and I haven't been tracking at all. I am so disappointed in myself, I was feeling really positive after weigh in on Thursday (I had a wrap pizza for my lunch) but it all went wrong on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and I didn't start again in Monday Sad.
I'm sure the weather isn't helping, it is so damn cold! I haven't eart any activity points and have been eating chocolate and crisps until it comes out of my ears....
I think part of the problem is that I don't think I look as fat as I am! Deluded, I am massive and my thighs are awash with cellulite!! I need some god damn motivation else I am just going to get fatter and fatter and start selling pictures on the Internet to perverts and telling my story to closer magazine for £250 to buy more crisps!!!!

AddictedtoCrunchies · 12/03/2013 17:41

backinaminute I started running on 1 June 2010 and struggled to run for 1 min. Persevered and managed a five male race in the October. Kept it ticking over through the winter and did a 5k race in the March then a 10k in the June.

Then had to have a knee op on 1.8.11 so couldn't run again until the November. Built my mileage up again over the winter and did a 10k in the March and another in the June.

Entered the half marathon and just went for it. Trained hard and even took my kit on holiday in the August. Managed to run the whole 13.1 miles in 2:18. Grin Grin. I was so happy and proud of myself.

Again ticked over through the winter and have a 10k Sunday week. I never win or come oven remotely near the front but I don't care. I love races as I set myself a target and just race against myself. And enjoy all the people clapping as I run.

Starting to run was THE best thing I did for my body (after packing up the fags in 2007). My legs and bum are more toned, my skinis better and it's made me a much better netball player. All you need are some daps and a decent bra. Even 20 mins will make a difference. And there's always the option of setting the alarm early? Wink Sorry for the long post but I get quite passionate about encouraging people to run.

I joined a running group when I started which is great for motivation. If anyone wants my slightly adapted c25k pm me your email and I'll send it through Grin

jazzcat28 · 12/03/2013 19:26

Wish I could join in with all this running lark - I'm out of the house 7-7 every day which includes 3hrs driving. By the time im home, sorted dinner, caught up with DH, it's bedtime before the 6am alarm again. Weekends are spent on chores, studying and relaxing after such a draining week.

I might be able to start going for a walk after my evening meal once the evenings are lighter but right now I'm having to diet just by changing my diet and hoping exercise can wait a bit

By the way, I cooked the HD sweet & sour chicken tonight and it was fab. Was a little Hmm that 2 chicken breasts would make enough for 4 servings but I was pleasantly surprised!
