Just thought I would start a new thread, seeing as we are perilously close to the 1000 posts cut off!

We have all started WW this January and so far so good, we are all losing. This is a really supportive group. Please feel free to join us and share your WW tips and any recipes that you may have. Smile

Well I fell off the ww wagon and have missed my last two weigh ins. I spent the wknd trying to do a bit of self-analysis as when I'm on plan I'm fine and know it works but I have huge issues with comfort/emotional eating.

I had been on track, one night had a nice propointed dinner then found myself quickly stuffing a couple of sausages and pot wedges (from husband's dinner) down my gob in the kitchen, just because the voice in my head was going 'I just want it'.

Anyway I have a couple of books which had made me think of my eating issues & habits a little differently so spent the wknd noting down the bits that meant most to me and got myself back on the cross trainer on Monday Smile

mama04 · 06/03/2013 12:15

ooh i like them sallybear! gonna pop to sainsburys today :) but the little voice in my head is saying "if you are gonna get in the car and drive in that direction, you WILL end up at krispy kreme!" :( lol

jazzcat28 · 06/03/2013 12:45

Mama its also £7.00 on Amazon if doughnuts are too much of a lure Grin

flatmouse · 06/03/2013 13:00

Things been busy for me lately, hence media blackout! Back now :) Had my WI on Monday and although i'd only lost 0.8lb, i had reached my first Stone ! Yey!

Monday was a long day out - banana for bfast, then cafe rouge for lunch - the king prawns in chilli & Garlic (gave DH the bread), and caesar chicken salad for main, with 1/3 bottle wine. All within dailies - didn't pick at kids sarnies for evening, did get peckish around 9pm so had another banana. Ended up 2 pp under for the day - which wasn't the intention, but didn't feel deprived in anyway.

Really want to loose a bit more next week - so it's time to shake it up again :)
Well done everyone for continuing through the bad weeks and drawing the crunchie lines!

Entertaining Fri/Sat and Sun this weekend - Sat is going to be the HD chilli and ginger as we love it. May do another HD for Fri - Sun will be a roast. Got to figure it all out tonight!

AddictedtoCrunchies · 06/03/2013 13:15

Suzy I'm right behind you in your aim to get back on track. I'm at home today so just need to stay away from the fridge.

Flatmouse well done on your stone Thanks

jazzcat28 · 06/03/2013 13:42

Well done flatmouse a stone is such a fab milestone isn't it? There's an article in this months WW mag which mentions a lady going into Tesco and stacking up packs of butter to visualise how much she'd lost - I might do this in the dead of night when no one sees me

Just noticed that cadburys freddos are 3pp each for those who are getting bored of curly wurlys for a chocolate fix!

bigTillyMint · 06/03/2013 13:46

HD cookbook is £5 at the Book people I think!

I'm trying my best to be good this week but will have a tricky weekend again as I have a friend coming over for a night out on Fri and then we are out on Sat.
Def eating Thai on Sat - what are my best options?!

MrsRudyRudpoo · 06/03/2013 13:58

Hello all.
Sorry I've gone off radar for a couple off weeks, real life has got in the way a bit! After my 5lb loss on week 4 i lost nothing the following week despite sticking with it, but at week 6 weigh in last week lost another 2lbs. I think that I just have to face it that some weeks I wont lose at all!
Really pleased to have lost this week, had a weekend away with friends and used all weeklies and about half my activity points. My friend cooked for us a lot, it's so hard to stay on track as I'd just look rude if I turned it all down after she'd slaved away!
Sorry to see people are finding the last week or so a bit tricky, I definitely agree about the novelty of this waring off a bit. I have found that I find it much easier to stick to if i buy individually wrapped stuff rather than a packet of say, biscuits. I think if a packets open I just keep going back to it (kettle chips are my down fall) whereas if i buy a multi bag im less likely to go back for more once I've had a bag. I have been buying the weight watchers biscuits for this reason as there's 2 in each pack and I'm less likely to eat half a packet.
Mother's day may be a challenge this week, going to Mil for lunch and it's always a calorie laden feast. Will be saving plenty of weeklies!
I'm back at work in May after mat leave and using that as my motivation at the minute, this baby weight WILL be gone!

jazzcat28 · 06/03/2013 14:27

Tillymint when I get in tonight I'll look up low pp Thai options for you in my Eating Out book Smile

bigTillyMint · 06/03/2013 16:46

Aww thanks Jazzcat!

OhTheConfusion · 06/03/2013 16:53

Right ladies, spring is springing and I am sure if we all up our walking a little we will see a difference on those scales!

I accidentally ate the entire pack of tesco cookies the other day but with lots of extra walking and PP even the accidental eating I lost 3lbs today... and the motivation of knowing I am only 2lbs off my first stone is enough to keep me going. Also dropped to 31pp (started on 33) so that makes me feel like I am making progress too. I definately do better when I eat my weeklies though.

It is HD crispy chicken (but made with turkey) for dinner tonight with baby potatoes and tomatoes roasted in spray oil then mixed with rocket. Quite looking forward to it.

I agree with the hot choc, I love the mint options one. Also sainsburys and marks do bags of popcorn (2pp each) that I have when watching a film.

GingerLemonTea · 06/03/2013 19:23

Hi all!
Well done on the stone Jazzcat, must feel great!

Sally, Stickwithit, Crunchie................keep going! You can do it. Just do whatever it takes, whatever normally gets you back on track. That's probably different for everyone but find your thing & get back to it Smile

After a bad week last week due to lots of stuff on, I have walked loads this week (pedometer helps, I just aim for 10,000 steps) and lost 2.5 pounds. Only 1.5 to stone.

We can do it. Even 0.5 a week will stack up. At the start of next spring you could be 26 pounds lighter!

My treat this week, time out single finger, great value at 2pp.

jazzcat28 · 06/03/2013 20:07

I've also put up my low point spinach cannelloni recipe on the recipe thread here

AddictedtoCrunchies · 06/03/2013 20:27

Confusion, I did as I was told and just did a 4.5m run in 50:16. But my phone only wants to give me 1 AP for it so it can get stuffed and I'll put it on the pc when I've finished my cuppa. Pleased with that though and I turned down cake afterwards. Smile

Livinginorganisedchaos · 06/03/2013 21:00

Had to share a significant milestone today. A work colleague asked if I had lost weight! It is funny how good that makes you feel.

It probably came at a good time as I am also feeling less than motivated this week. Part of it is that my period will be due this weekend so I am not expecting a loss and it always makes me feel tired and crave carbs.

I agree though that we need to start thinking about summer clothes and how great it will feel to be a healthy weight for the summer

OhTheConfusion · 06/03/2013 21:16

Well done Crunchie! Grin I am beginning to miss a good walk on the days I juat can't fit it in. DH and I are doing the coastal walk to the next town (10mile round trip) on Saturday (DC's are off with their grandparents), stopping off for a cuppa (no cake!) then walking back... hardly rock and roll but I am really looking forward to it! Blush

OhTheConfusion · 06/03/2013 21:17

Oh well done Livingin, just what you need to spur you on!

ShepherdsSpy · 06/03/2013 21:51

Evening all. I just joined tonight, and weighed in over 12 stone.

Wish me luck!

ShepherdsSpy · 06/03/2013 21:53

Sorry, I had a question. I like horlicks, and the app tells me this is three points. Is this including my half pint of milk allowed most days? What about the half sugar I put in it?

Thanks

mama04 · 06/03/2013 22:17

Good luck Shepard Grin I joined on Tuesday and weighed just over 12 as well Confused I'm sitting here now trying to keep my self occupied whilst Dh makes roasted cheese for himself Hmm raging doesn't even cover it! X

mama04 · 06/03/2013 22:18

*shepherd damn predictive Grin

AddictedtoCrunchies · 07/03/2013 08:34

Shepherd you're allowed half pint of milk but you still have to count it. So if you make your drink using the half pint you've counted then you don't have to count it again but you do have to count the Horlicks and the sugar. Just put that into the tracker. If you have it in addition to the half pint you've counted, then you'll have to count it as well.

I'm sure someone with a better grasp of our beautiful language will be along soon to explain that in a better way. Wink

onthemetro · 07/03/2013 09:03

Welcome Shepherd! I usually add 250ml of milk into my day at the very beginning, then that covers me for tea & coffee. I had some Horlicks last night actually for the first time in aaaages Grin and made it like I would tea, so just a splash of milk from the 250ml I'd already planned. But if I was going to do it with just warm milk instead I'd probably need more milk than I'd planned for the day, iyswim, so I'd measure it and point however much I was using, so 200ml of skimmed milk (2pp) plus the Horlicks (3pp). Hopefully that makes sense!

I haven't used any weekly points yet, and my WI is on Saturday...I usually use about half towards the beginning of the week, do you guys think I should try and use about 10/15 before Saturday to match up with the other weeks? I don't want my weight loss to stall because I haven't used them Blush

jazzcat28 · 07/03/2013 09:07

Metro my leader and this months WW magazine both advise to use all your weeklies to maximise consistent weight loss - you don't want your body to go into starvation mode and slow down fat burn. I have lost the most the weeks I've blown my weeklies on wine and pizza!

bigTillyMint · 07/03/2013 11:17

Thanks jazz - looks like I should try to stick to steamed rice and a non-red/green curry...

Good Luck Shepherd, Well done Chaos!
