Just thought I would start a new thread, seeing as we are perilously close to the 1000 posts cut off!

We have all started WW this January and so far so good, we are all losing. This is a really supportive group. Please feel free to join us and share your WW tips and any recipes that you may have. Smile

It's DS4's 6th birthday today and I have to think what to cool that he will eat and that won't kill me! I was thinking about doing boiled Gammon as he loves that and roasties for the kids. The cake that I made this morning looks dreadful, didn't rise well so I need to do more baking today. DS had a bad nights sleep so isn't in school yet. I feel I need matchsticks to prop my eyes open! The thing with baking first thing is that cake is genuinely the last thing I want to eat!

Morning all, I have just made a pot of mushroom soup (think 1pp per portion) and it only took me 15min Smile.

I accidentally ate 3 tesco choc, fruit and nut cookies (total of 24pp) yesterday Blush so back on it today!

onthemetro · 05/03/2013 12:21

Happy birthday to your DS Sally! Hope he has a lovely day (and you too of course!)

Soup is my new best friend, I've got a flask full of the HD golden vegetable soup for my lunch today along with a packet of melba toast. I'm already wondering what soup to make next...I have a swede that needs to be used, would that make good soup? Probably not on its own but maybe with leek?

Confusion I love those cookies, though the double chocolate ones are even deadlier for me. I bet they were delicious Grin

Jazzcat, well done on the dress success Grin My clothes are definitely fitting me better now, I bought loads of long sleeved tops before I started WW and most were really tight but now they're quite baggy, hurrah Grin

Hello Everyone

Well despite my best intentions to have a more moderate weekend, I fell off the wagon on Sunday. I had family visiting so there were a few pre dinner drinks which did not exactly help my self control. So, ended with a fairly indulgent 3 course dinner and a few more drinks. On the bright side, I had a lovely time so I have decided just to draw a line and get back on track the rest of the week.

I agree that it is the non weight milestones that are the most motivating. I have decided to make my favourite pair of jeans my target rather than an actual weight. I bought them after I lost 3 stone doing WW after I had DD. It was the only time I ever bought a pair of designer jeans (and even these I got cheap in TK Maxx) and I just remember how great I felt in them.

I have decided that once I can fit into them easily then it doesnt really matter what the scales are saying, I will be at a weight that I feel good about.

Hey all!

HD spicy bean stew for dinner tonight. DH making faces because there's no meat in it. I can tell him till he's blue in the face about the protein in cannellini beans, but he doesn't care - it's psychological, methinks. Anyway, it'll be ready in a few minutes so I will report back.

I also made the Spanish style bake again, but used one chicken breast instead of 2 thighs, and I thought that made it much nicer actually. Still yummy! Also had the HD minestrone soup for lunch - SO filling for so few pp!

NoWayNoHow · 05/03/2013 20:36

Spicy bean stew...

MEH.

jazzcat28 · 05/03/2013 22:19

Ooh how scandalous - our first negative HD review!

NoWayNoHow · 05/03/2013 22:50

Jazz at, I know! You'd think the way we lot all harp on about them that we work for their PR team!! Wink

mama04 · 05/03/2013 23:57

First day in ww as I made the mistake of buying bmi scales 6 months after my 4th Dc Confused can't believe how much points wine is?!? Shock

Does anyone have a good breakfast suggestion for the morning? Thanks Grin x

backinaminute · 06/03/2013 00:35

Hi Mama, how about 30g of porridge with skimmed milk - 3pp for the porridge and milk out of your daily 1/2pt also at 3pp. I grate an apple in or stir in mashed banana to bulk it out. If you've got a sweet tooth you can add a tsp of golden or maple syrup for 0pp. I've had this for breakfast every day since starting ww. Not very creative but keeps me full till lunchtime (so far) without fail.

Good luck, I found the first day hard to get my head around it but once you get into the swing of it, it's really simple.

Stickwithit · 06/03/2013 08:24

Hi All, just dashing in to say that I've sadly rather lost my motivation this week. The evening snack temptation has been getting the better if me. I'm so cross with myself- although bizarrely not cross enough to stop myself as I've succumbed several times Blush.

My usual WI is on friday but I've found a WI this morning and I am off work so I'm going to go along in the hope that I can rediscover my enthusiasm.

Keep going everyone, in proud of you all.

Stickwithit · 06/03/2013 08:25

I'm not in...

SallyBear · 06/03/2013 08:36

Stickwithit - my motivation has also headed south. I found an unread WW magazine so I will sit down and read it this morning while having my breakfast I need to get back on track. We had a great day for DS's birthday, and even though I baked two cakes, I didn't eat any. I just pugged out on homemade Mexican food later...... Oops. Oh well - today is WI, I've put on 2lbs so I will be back to being earnest and motivated about it all.....once I've read the magazine that is! Shock

It's true what they say, when you stop counting points, it all goes to rat shit. Sad Sad I know I need a line, I know I need to sort myself out but I just can't.

I'm bored of my whining so I'm sure you lot must be Sad Sad

Just got to hope my exercise is keeping me somewhere near where I was.

Chocolate is my absolute downfall. Not Wineor Biscuit . Just chocolate.

jazzcat28 · 06/03/2013 09:05

Come on ladies let's try and get motivated again! It's march which means Easter hols is a matter of weeks away and wouldn't it be fab to be half a stone lighter before the chocolate arrives?!

For those of you who get snack attacks in the evenings can I suggest a cup of options hot chocolate for 1pp and also keep drinking water. I'm drinking a pint before my meals and it's amazing how I don't really feel hungry - I must be dehydrated instead. I've also heard popcorn is a great low point snack although haven't tried this myself yet.

My downfall is ice cream after dinner so I've resorted to buying WW frozen puds. The choc brownie one is yummy and they are pretty much the only ww branded products I buy so don't worry too much about price.

I am feeling so positive about this diet and I am so very grateful for the tips and support on this thread - lets keep it up ladies and think of a slimmer summer ahead Smile

ooh diet coke is my afternoon lifesaver - fills me up with a banana until dinner time

mrsv2 · 06/03/2013 09:11

1.4lb off for me this week. Really delighted.

BUT i am now about to have a week off as DH is on leave and we are off to center parc for the weekend. We are heading to M&S tomorrow to buy yummy goodies to take with us and i will be drinking as i have done really well and hard had any wine in the last 4 weeks. DH wants cakes and crisps ( tell he is feeling deprived) We are going to have ready made food on Friday, steak on sat and a meal out Sun and Mon.

We had the HB salmon last night..............delicious. Going to send my sister the recipe of that one. My fave so far

For breakfast i have 2 weetabix with a banana and blueberries which is 3pp plus the milk you use. its quick and easy and fills me up.

AddictedtoCrunchies · 06/03/2013 09:11

Thanks Jazzcat, you're right. I need a kick as I want to be slimmer by summer. I'm going to get back on my tracking today. Thanks Smile

mrsv2 · 06/03/2013 09:16

just updated the spreadsheet here

onthemetro · 06/03/2013 09:52

Hope the people that are struggling can find their motivation again - you can do it!

I too have found recently that a Highlights or Options hot choc is great, especially the mint Options. I have a mug of that and an orange and it really helps my after dinner munchies. I really wouldn't have thought that an orange would help but it does, think because it's sweet and takes a while to eat. Or last night I had a crumpet with a tsp of golden syrup, sounds weird but it really hit the spot Grin

I've had porridge for breakfast almost every day since starting, apart from when I had a little fling with Special K! I have 40g for 4pp with skimmed milk and a tbsp of golden syrup for 1pp (can you tell I love golden syrup?! Grin) and it fills me up, especially if I have a banana with it too.

Well done on the loss mrsv! And I hope you enjoy your time away Smile

backinaminute · 06/03/2013 09:53

I'm with Jazzcat. Half a stone by easter is doable for us all!

We are doing so well. Get back to tracking and try to avoid the snacking temptations.

Two mini (cheesey) mantras of mine through this - Eat to live, not live to eat. And my personal fave....

'You're only hungry if you would eat an apple' - it's very true.

Also, I want to feel smug (on the inside of course) when there are news articles on the obesity epidemic, not guilty that I am part of the problem (and fearful that it's my bottom that they pan across).

I also second the hot chocolate and really recommend the Cadbury Caramel one - only 1pp and a real sweet treat.

0 point soup is my life saver - a spoonful of fat free yogurt peps it up too.

I'm in it for the long haul so let's keep going. Every half pound is half a pound less till goal. We knew it wasn't going to be easy.

I've had a sneaky WI midweek (I know, I know......) and haven't lost anything. I've completed week one of couch to 5k and think my body is in shock! I reckon it thinks we've entered a combat situation and is holding on to what we've got. It's not going to put me off though. Hopefully it will pay off over the next few weeks. At Xmas I never would have thought I would have been able to do this.

I'm thinking of my Topshop jeans.......

onthemetro · 06/03/2013 09:53

Ooh, and I had the HD jalfrezi last night with turkey, it was delicious. I love that book and it amuses me how almost everyone on this thread does too! Grin

mama04 · 06/03/2013 10:43

Thanks backinaminute, had it this morning! Yummy Smile
Didn't realise what an unsupportive tw@t my Dh is! He actually laughed at me last night Hmm so I've made a bet with him for every lb I lose before Easter, I get an hour on my own with no Dc I have 4 so I'm bloody motivated now!! GrinGrin

mama04 · 06/03/2013 10:55

What is this HD cook book? Sounds good Grin

mrsv2 · 06/03/2013 11:04

It's the Hairy Bikers Diet book.....

SallyBear · 06/03/2013 11:05
