Just thought I would start a new thread, seeing as we are perilously close to the 1000 posts cut off!

We have all started WW this January and so far so good, we are all losing. This is a really supportive group. Please feel free to join us and share your WW tips and any recipes that you may have. Smile

Ooh can I join as well please? I'm breastfeeding, (DD2 is 16 weeks) and get 40 daily points. So far I have lost 9lbs, last week at the meeting I had lost 1lb and got my 5% hurrah (just 21 or so pounds to go -eurgh). Have got a target of 'comfortable in a swimsuit for Holiday in May.'

I'll need a lot of luck this week (w.i day Weds) as it's my birthday weekend, have pretty much abandoned tracking will have to be extra good from Monday.

SallyBear · 02/03/2013 18:26

O.M.G. Confusion! I can't believe you did that?! That's very impressive. I'm going to put those into my HD book. Just made chicken and bacon special fried rice for the family. Watching DS1 systematically pick out all the veg bar the carrot ribbons.... Sigh.... Anyway it was all eaten up. Sunday lunch and the MIL is over. I'm wondering if I can get away with mash as opposed to roasties.....

Well done to all the losses, welcome to the newbies and Addicted, I am seriously impressed by your energy. I think I lost a pound just reading about it! Grin

OP posts:
AddictedtoCrunchies · 02/03/2013 18:56

Not sure where I got the energy from tbh. However I'm now collapsed on the sofa having cooked tea, washed up, hung out a load of washing and tidied up. If DH doesn't get off his arse to put DS to bed I'm gonna blow Angry Angry

OhTheConfusion · 02/03/2013 18:59

Considering all the tips I have had from you guy's it was a pleasure to return the help!

I have just made a pot of 0pp spiced butternut squash soup... which DD1 scoffed as a 'starter' before her tea. Will pop (my own made up) recipe onto the recipe thread tomorrow.

Crunchie, WOW! I am knackered reading about your day Wink. We took the DC's 10 pin bowling with friends then out for lunch. Having a quiet night with a DVD and a pack of malteasers!!!

Cider, go you with a small bottle of wine... wish I had that restraint Wink.

Newbie, welcome to the gang! We are a nice bunch and both cheer each other on listen to any moans.

Sally, I have been doing roasted baby potatoes with spray oil and they are OK. I love mash though... but with butter!!! PS. Carrots are better than no veg Smile.

mrsXsweet · 02/03/2013 21:56

Confusion that was so helpful, thank u.

I have just made the cottage pie for tomorrow's lunch so will let y know how it goes down!

Crunchie I hope u dh put ur son to bed and u r now having a relaxing evening. My ds is stirring so off to do the first feed of the night.... Can someone remind me at what age the average baby sleeps through?! Dd was 2 and still isn't great now at 3, her brother has got to better than that (right?).

bigTillyMint · 03/03/2013 07:38

Wow Confusion - that was some pointing!

Well done to Sally and Crunchie for getting back on the wagon. I managed to get back on too(ish!) and have lost 1 1/2lbs of the two I put on last week, so I'm almost back to where I was before skiing!

MrsX, there is no average age for sleeping through!Smile

mrsv2 · 03/03/2013 09:11

There is no average age to sleeping through I'm afraid..... I'm just very blessed and lucky with 2 sleepers.
Losing my motivation after 4 weeks ( that's rubbish I know), 2 helpings of fish pie on Friday ( made with cream) and Chinese take away last night. Have avoided the booze though. Next weekend we are away and I'm not going to point as I don't want to make it difficult or stressy as its our first family weekend away since in 6 months since DS was born.
Going to try and be good until Thursday then think about it when I get back......

mrsv2 · 03/03/2013 09:12

And ohtheconfusion, thank you so much for finding the time to type that out. Much appreciated :-)

bigTillyMint · 03/03/2013 11:32

mrsv, think you're right to enjoy your weekend away - it's miserable to point when you're supposed to be relaxing and enjoying!

OhTheConfusion · 03/03/2013 12:02

Sadly every baby is different, I thank my lucky stars every day for having a sleeper.

Mrs V, I think not pointing for a family weekend will do no harm. Making 'good choices' is slowly becoming easier... lots of grilled protein and veg! When we go out I go for a fruit scone (8pp ish) and tea or avoid cake and just have a nice skinny latte. Plus, think of the walking you will do... and there is always extra after dark activity points on a weekend away Wink Blush.

Mrs X we are having the lamb hotpot Smile.

Crunchie hope DS slept through and you didn't thump DH!

CiderwithBuda · 03/03/2013 12:34

Well I continued my picky day with too much wine and more late night eating. Nightmare. Had my mini bottle of wine. And then had some red as we were having steak. Had too much. Then stayed up after DH and DS went to bed and had a crumpet, a slice of bread with honey and a tonne of wasabi peas. Oh and had cheese and crackers after dinner.

Need to be super good today and tomorrow.

Why do we do it???? I'm away for two nights from Thursday which will involve list of eating out and drinking as well so that will affect next weeks weigh in. It's bloody hard to stay motivated isn't it?

SallyBear · 03/03/2013 12:43

DS4's 6th birthday on Tuesday, so having family here between now and then and lots of cake. ConfusedConfused

I'm doing roasties for hem all, but I'm being a martyr and having boiled potatoes with my roast. It's tough but I need to make points room for the wine to anaesthetise myself against MIL's droning this afternoon! Xx

OP posts:
backinaminute · 03/03/2013 13:56

I agree that the novelty is wearing off but also we are beginning to see results. I'm really hoping to hit my 10% on Thursday which will also be my stone and a half. Just need to loose 2lbs to do it.

Due to the lack of novelty factor I've started a new little challenge of vouch to 5k. I've done my second 'run' (more like wheezing waddle) this morning. I haven't done any proper exercise for years and years and couldn't even run when I was at primary school!

Because it is so hard it's keeping me on track food wise because otherwise it seems a bit pointless. When I thought I was going to have a heart attack on the verge I just kept plodding on thinking '10% on Thursday' over and over again.

Saying that I used some weeklies on wine last night. Feeling the effects today. It's definitely easier if I avoid drink. I used to be a big drinker (when I had an exciting social life pre-dc) but have got out the habit due to being either pregnant or breastfeeding for the past 3 years with only a little break between babies. I only had 3 large glasses but it's making me dream of bacon today. I shall keep chanting my 10% mantra......

Thanks confusion for pointing the HDbook. I'm going to write them all in the book now. It's much appreciated. Thanks

OhTheConfusion · 03/03/2013 14:06

I was originally giving up chocolate for lent then I thought I would give up alcohol instead... so far so good and I feel much better for it. Wine makes me nibble but a hangover makes me scoff Blush. I am struggling to eat all my weeklies without wine though (that used to cover at least 30 of them!!!), and I find I do better when I use them up... any ideas?

I am having a bit of a spring clean today so hoping to sweat off a few ounces!

onthemetro · 03/03/2013 15:20

Wow confusion! Thanks so much for going to all that trouble Thanks

I made HD golden vegetable soup today, it was delicious. Had it with Morrisons NuMe melba toast which is only 2pp for each pack. So filling and so low in points, and I'm pleased that my first ever attempt to make soup was a success! I thought not having a stick blender meant I couldn't make soup but my food processor does the job :D also this means I can have a Crunchie later

Welcome newbies! There's a stats spreadsheet here if you want to add yourself :)

bigTillyMint · 03/03/2013 16:35

Well done on the running backinamin!

Confusion, Spring Clean - you are putting me to shame!

AddictedtoCrunchies · 03/03/2013 16:42

Well DH did put DS to bed but only after I told him to. Then DS woke in the night because there were flies on him Hmm . Then DH left at 6.30am to play golf and didn't notice Hmm. that the heating hadn't come on so it was freezing when we woke up. So all is not well in Crunchie Towers.Sad Big talk on the cards tonight.

Never mind tomorrow's another day. Thanks for all being there to listen to my ramblings Thanks

mrsv2 · 03/03/2013 21:18

A jacket potato 8pp..... Some things really surprise me :-(

Doretaball · 04/03/2013 14:39

Hello! A back to basics weekend clearly undid a bit of damage caused earlier in the week - I managed to lose 1.5lbs. Thrilled to bits.

Will religiously track this week and hope for a good loss next week. Might be a bit tricky as I'm away for a few days from now til Wed but will do my best.

If you're eating at pizza express, the Leggera pizzas are lovely. I was really reluctant to ty them, thinking I'd feel like I was missing out, but I really didn't. Really tasty and comes with salad too.

Hope you all have a good week.

jazzcat28 · 04/03/2013 15:38

Well done Doretaball!

OhTheConfusion · 04/03/2013 16:20

MrsV... Ouch! Did that include a filling?!?

Well done Doretaball Grin.

mrsv2 · 04/03/2013 17:04

Nope just the potatoe..... Then had to add the filling points on top. It wasn't even a huge one. About 370g raw which makes around 230g cooked.

onthemetro · 04/03/2013 17:18

Well done doretaball! I love the Leggera pizzas, my favourite one is the one with spinach and chicken...soooo good. And I love the salad in the middle too. I would choose it even if I wasn't trying to lose weight!

Mrsv, that's crazy for a jacket potato!

I figured out that I'm only a stone and a half away from my goal weight...I thought I had a lot further to go Shock I've almost lost my first stone and it's gone so quickly, I can't believe it took me so long to get around to joining WW! Blush

backinaminute · 04/03/2013 18:27

We've just had the HD easy crispy chicken for tea and it was fab. DP who is very anti diet food loved it too - just wanted to share. I had it with salad and corn on the cob. DP and Ds had new potatoes.

jazzcat28 · 04/03/2013 21:28

We had HD Spanish chicken bake - I used slightly less potatoes and 3 chicken breasts but kept everything else as per the recipe and halved it between myself and DH - worked out at 13pp each and was delicious!

Am also very happy as I tried on a dress tonight I bought new in October in the sales which barely zipped up and it now fits beautifully! I'm hoping I get to enjoy my new found slimmer wardrobe a little before I get pg! Such a dilemma - want to be thinner but also want to get my BFP in the next 2-3 months!

In the meantime ill just stick to WW as i have plenty to lose!
