Just thought I would start a new thread, seeing as we are perilously close to the 1000 posts cut off!

We have all started WW this January and so far so good, we are all losing. This is a really supportive group. Please feel free to join us and share your WW tips and any recipes that you may have. Smile

Thanks guys, I wore them out today and just wanted to stop everyone I saw to say 'you know this is a size 12, don't you?!' Grin I just can't believe it. Though sizing is pretty arbitrary and there's noooo way I could be the same in other shops (especially Topshop! I've never been able to fit into anything from there), but either way it's really spurred me on.

Sorry to hear about everything that's going on, Sally, and like the others have said you haven't let anyone down! There are times when WW just isn't going to be your first thought, when it just can't be, and that's just life. The difference is that you have the tools to start again, I know before I started WW a bad few days would turn into months and months of shit eating and piling on the weight whereas now I feel much more in control because I know I can just get back to WW.

Well done Backinaminute! It's so great when people start noticing, it really starts to make things feel real doesnt it?! Grin

Nowaynohow, at least it wasn't 4 chocolate bars! I tend to think of it like that, whenever I think I've done something awful its usually a million times better than I would've done before WW and though ill try to fix whatever caused the bad thing to happen, ill try and go easy on myself. How many pp in Nutella? I may have a Nutella toastie one week Blush

Hahaha I love that deleted message earlier on in the thread! I take it it was a spammer? Grin

AddictedtoCrunchies · 01/03/2013 07:26

Weigh in today and I stayed the same. Bit Sad but only a little. At least I didn't gain.

Next week I will be 14 stone dead. Smile

NoWayNoHow · 01/03/2013 08:13

Crunchie, you're totally right, it wasn't a gain so that's always good!

Sally you're not letting anyone down. Thanks WW is a long term plan to help us understand food and increase our knowledge about the way it affects our bodies - a week when you're dealing with so much is just a little blip. Please don't be disheartened - nobody blames you for prioritising the priorities!

Onethemetro well done you! 4 tsp of Nutella was 4PP Blush Blush

WI this morning and I've lost 0.5lbs in the 3 weeks since my last WI before my op. Part of me is a little disappointed as I thought I would've lost more, but I also know that whilst I wasn't pointing, there was probably an equal balance between the small amount I ate over the period surround the operation, and the compensating food that my DMum made me towards the end of last week while I was still recovering!

I have lost 8lbs so far, and have another 10lbs to go to hit my goal weight (which I hit in July 2011), so nearly half way there!!

AddictedtoCrunchies · 01/03/2013 10:10

Well done Noway. Onwards and upwards.

jazzcat28 · 01/03/2013 11:37

Well done everyone for the continued progress, I think we are entering a tricky phase now - the novelty may have worn off as we start our 3rd month and we also might be getting complacent - thinking we know points values without measuring, forgetting to track etc. I am going 'back to badics' and using my food tracker to look back at weeks where I lost weight and using those days to plan what to eat. Also forcing myself to weigh everything and measure milk.

I am expecting a gain at weigh in tomorrow morning but hoping this will be balanced by a better week next week.

Someone at work noted I'd slimmed down so that's given me the motivation to keep going!

Took my last pill today ahead of preparing to TTC as soon as my first AF has been and gone, so need to maximise my weight loss over the next month to be as baby fit as I can be!

Keep posting here, this had been such a great thread :-)

jazzcat28 · 01/03/2013 11:39

*basics not badicts!!

MyDingaling · 01/03/2013 13:53

Well done Metro, I think I would leave the tag on and highlight the size if I had size 12 jeans!

Starting to get my head round this a lttle bit more. I lost 3.5 lb in the first WI and 2 lb yesterday so I must be doing something right!!!

mrsXsweet · 01/03/2013 15:13

I hope u don't mind me joining, I read your thread and it has inspired me to give ww (another) go! Joined up y'day and have an alarming 3.5 stone to lose. I really want to have made significant progress by beginning of July as I'll be returning to work (after mat leave) and want to wow everyone! I was trying to do it on my own and have lost half a stone since the beginning if Jan but was beginning to gain and lose the same pound.

Having read the thread I bought the hd cookbook, it looks yummy but I don't have a pc connected to the Internet (am on my phone) so can't point the recipes. Does anyone know the points for the cottage pie? And the meatballs?

flatmouse · 01/03/2013 15:16

Not managed to post much lately as v busy at work - just caught up. Sally, thinking of you and your DD, hope you manage to find option 3.
Onthemetro size 12? I dream of size 12 - well done! Those with losses (however small) - yey! And Jazz very wise words!
Heading in to the weekend with most of my weeklies left (which i've discovered doesn't always lead to a good loss) - hoping for 1lb or more on Monday. I'm feeling like i'm getting used to figuring out the kind of foods i can have combined within a day to stay within my points. I have had the odd craving! But find home made chips (just potatos, sliced up like chips and tossed in 1tbspn of oil, baked in oven) more than satisfy.
Have a good weekend everyone!

Doretaball · 01/03/2013 16:29

Very wise words Jazz. You've really hit the nail on the head. I'm getting a bit complacent and really need to focus. Since yesterday ice been thinking that I'd not worry too much about this week but get back on track next week. Actually what I need to do is get back on track now and start pointing properly. I have a vet quiet weekend so there's no reason why I can't have 2 good WW days before my WI on Monday.

It's just that I'm getting a bit of a cold and feeling a bit sorry for myself. I need to pull myself together and crack on!

Hope you all have good weekends.

Doretaball · 01/03/2013 16:30

Oophs. A very quiet weekend, not a vet one!

onthemetro · 01/03/2013 18:02

Jazzcat your post was really helpful - must say I've been guilty of thinking I know the plan well enough this week. I'm not expecting to lose, or if I do it won't be much...so I need to go back to basics. I think getting the new magazine at meeting tomorrow will help me, and I think I'll have a read of the intro books after WI to refresh my memory.

I got a text from my leader to say there's an offer for a free calculator or cookbook either in the mag or at meetings, exciting!

Just stuck the HD chicken & ham tangle pie in the oven, it's looking delicious! A lot less effort than I thought it would be too. The smell of the wine made me feel sick though, I don't like wine and had to buy a little bottle for this recipe especially Grin

Dingaling, it's sad but that did actually go through my mind Grin well done on the loss so far, you're clearly getting the hang of it Smile

jazzcat28 · 01/03/2013 20:32

Glad I could be of some assistance Smile. I knew I'd personally get to this stage about now, just got to power through! I mean we all know the plan works if we stick to it like we did in the first 2-4 weeks!

Welcome mrssweet I have the hd book but haven't pointed up those particular recipes I'm afraid... I'm sure one of the other regulars will be along shortly to put you out of your misery!

I cooked an old slimming world recipe this evening Shock it was spinach cannelloni and worked out at 7pp a portion - I shall try to type it out on the recipe thread in the morning

Dreading the scales tomorrow but I'm feeling confident about the week ahead

Livinginorganisedchaos · 01/03/2013 20:42

Well done everyone with losses and stick with it those without. I had my weigh in today and to my amazement I had lost a pound. I now have only 7 pounds to go until I hit goal which is very exciting!

The reason I was so surprised was that I have had a really difficult week. I used up all my weeklies last weekend when i fell off the wagon. Then, I pulled my hamstring on Monday so have been unable to exercise to boost my points. I had a low point yesterday when I was tracking my day and realised I was facing a dinner out with an old friend and only 9pp left. There was no way I could stay within points so I just decided to pick healthy foods and drink within moderation and not worry about my weigh in.

So, I had a great night out and am just so surprised to get a loss after a negative weeklie week. I guess it shows you never know and even when you think the week is not going well, its worth sticking with it and pointing what you can.

Going to try harder this week not to blow all my weeklies on alcohol and crisps and get back to exercising.

OhTheConfusion · 01/03/2013 21:03

Hi MrsX, I am a sad so and so and have pointed the entire book Blush. The cottage pie is 7pp when serving 6 people and the meatballs are 7pp's too.

We just had fajhitas (so not how you spell that!) as DH has had a real notion for them... even made in a 'healthy' way they were still 15pp's and i'm still hungry Sad. We are having HD food for the next few days... roast chicken and cumin veg (4pp for veg) tomorrow, lean lamb hotpot (11pp) with greens on Sunday and easy crispy chicken (but with turkey instead) (7pp with turkey, 8pp with chicken), roasted baby tomatoes, new potatoes and rocket on Monday!

mrsXsweet · 01/03/2013 22:29

Thank u ohtheconfusion ii'm really looking forward to the cottage pie. I'm actually slightly jealous that u have pointed the whole boom, would be my idea if heaven to be that organised!
I was hoping to keep my membership secret from dh as he despairs of me constantly starting diets/buying fitness DVDs etc but the man is not stupid and cottoned on as soon as he saw the fruit and veg in the fridge... Oh we'll, maybe this will be the time I succeed!

NoWayNoHow · 02/03/2013 08:04

Morning all! Happy Saturday!

Jazz, you are so right, we all ach that "complacency" point where we get lax/think we can so it all in our heads. I always feel SO much more positive when I track every single morsel and I feel less stressed about tricking myself IYSWIM and then I know there will be no nasty surprises!

Went out for my first meal out last night since the operation - a celebration of being able to eat normally again. Had the most AMAZING sirloin steak I have ever had in my life, and had some triple cooked chips too Blush, all washed down with some lovely red wine and a scoop of ice cream! Managed to only use 11 of my weeklies, too, so very pleased overall!!

Hope you all have a great day. Smile

jazzcat28 · 02/03/2013 09:57

Morning! Somehow I have managed to lose 2lb this week, despite weekend of partying last week and pizza and birthday cake mid week!!

No logic to this... But am still going to do my back to basics approach this week and hopefully will be able to lose another 2lb next week!

Happy weekend everyone x

SallyBear · 02/03/2013 10:21

I weighed in. Sigh. A week of emotional eating is not a good thing. 2.5lb gain. Back to plan today. No more snacky "oh I know I shouldn't but I will" foods.
Thank you all of you got being so supportive this week, this is what a thread is all about. Smile ThanksThanksThanksThanks

Just weighed myself again, not nearly as bad as I have only gained a pound! Phew! I was using scales on the carpet plus (tmi alert) I had not finished my er... Ablutions...

OP posts:
jazzcat28 · 02/03/2013 11:32

Well done SallyBear... that teeny tiny gain is a small price to pay for the stress and worry you have no doubt been going through this week. You know that with a bit of determination (and luck on your side) you can easily shed that and possibly 1-2lb more by next week!

onthemetro · 02/03/2013 13:03

Well done Jazzcat! And Sally, that's not bad at all Smile

Just back from my meeting, lost half a pound which I'm pleased with as I rediscovered my love of iced gems last night Blush

Onwards and upwards! Or er...downwards Grin

AddictedtoCrunchies · 02/03/2013 16:53

Well I went to pot yesterday. Why oh why do I do it? Although I have managed to stick to this longer than any other time but I still have slip ups.

Sort of gave myself a clean slate from today and have done the following:

  • a 6.25 mile run in 68:56 (there were a couple of big hills in it so was a bit slower)
  • played a netball match
  • umpired a netball match

Am quite tired now tbh and came home to a messy house and DH being a dick. So escaped upstairs with a cuppa.

I think I might change my weigh in day to Saturday or Sunday as it will force me to stay on track at the weekend. Any thoughts?

Sorry for my musings, am feeling a bit Sad

CiderwithBuda · 02/03/2013 17:47

Sally - that is not too bad a gain. Will go quickly I am sure. It's hard to stay focussed when you have so much on your mind. Well done for even still trying!

Well done on losses metro and jazz.

Ohtheconfusion - wow! Just wow! Thanks SO SO SO much for posting that! I can well imagine it took ages. You star! I will sit down and write the points values down all the way through my book. It will make life so much easier. Did I say you are a star? Grin

Addicted - we ALL do it. Don't be too hard on yourself. The trick is to get back on the wagon NOW rather than leaving it and doing even more damage. Am impressed with your exercise! I was supposed to do cross trainer yesterday and today but have managed not to! With regard to changing your weigh in to sat or sun I would if you think it will help. Mine is fixed as I go to a meeting so it's always Tuesday. I quite like it on Tuesday as I figure it gives me Monday to try and undo any damage I do at the weekend!

I am having a very picky day. Had a crumpet for breakfast so wonder did that set me off. Haven't had crumpets for ages. Have been picking fairly sensibly though. Had a large portion of mango and then a packet of M&S guilt free popcorn. Having steak and salad for dinner. With a few chips. And a mini bottle of wine.

And then I think I will be going to bed early to avoid picking any more!
