Just thought I would start a new thread, seeing as we are perilously close to the 1000 posts cut off!

We have all started WW this January and so far so good, we are all losing. This is a really supportive group. Please feel free to join us and share your WW tips and any recipes that you may have. Smile

2 off!!! I'm amazed. (Hope I won't pay for it next week Hmm)

*Mrsv2" I'm a 26pp-er too and I pretty much divide my day as you do. I set by a couple of weeklies most days for overflow points, but I still have about 30pp to use as weeklies.

Recently I've taken to having a crumpet, a teaspoon of golden syrup and a chopped banana for breakfast. It only costs me 2pp and it really fills me up til lunch, plus doesn't feel diety at all.

Also, whichever mumsnetter posted about a babybel light split over 2 TUC biscuits for 2pp is my saviour! It really satisfies that savoury snack craving and doesn't dent into my points too much.

x

bigTillyMint · 26/02/2013 21:04

mrsv, I feel your pain - there just don't seem to be enough points to go around when you have to save your weeklies for the weekend (difficult to eat out/drink otherwiseWink)

mrsv2 · 27/02/2013 08:01

0.7lb off which takes me to exactly 11st11 which is half a stone off in total. Would have been nice if it was a bigger loss but still pleased

Stickwithit · 27/02/2013 09:56

Well done chilli and mrsv.

I have 26 daily points too and agree they don't seem to go very far. I tend to use some weeklies each day so don't really get the opportunity to save them for a meal out or wine.

I've decided that on weeks where I go out or have a celebration I probably won't loose weight- so I will aim for a 'no gain' week. Then on weeks when I'm not going out I will aim to loose. It's a bit soul destroying but I think that as long as I don't have too many 'going out' weeks, I should be ok.

CiderwithBuda · 27/02/2013 11:11

I must admit I am dreading going down to 26 points! Am on 30 at the moment.

Don't forget you can earn activity points. On a normal week probably not a good idea to use them but on a week where you have something on , you could earn yourself some extra points. I think I will need to do that next week. Am going up to London overnight to meet a friend I haven't seen for ten years and the following night I am staying with another friend and that will involve lots of wine and a pub meal.

Anyone any idea on how to count points on a cross trainer? Have done 30 mins this morning but can't see it on activity list.

I have just had a really healthy breakfast. 0% Greek yoghurt with blueberries and I decided to add flakes almonds, walnuts and pecan nuts. Ouch! 4 points of nuts! Won't be doing that again. And I am still hungry!

Well done on losses chilli and mrsv. I WILL have a loss next week!

Well done chilly and mrsv!

Cider, when I asked on the last thread about cross trainer activity points, a couple of people suggested pointing it as Step Aerobics, which makes sense I guess in terms of what it's like as its definitely a harder slog that the running machine.

I struggle to make 26pp last - the only way I can do it is by having soup for lunch every day! I'm having New Covent Garden ones this week as they were on offer at Sainsburys, but normally make them myself.

Haven't weighed myself in 2 weeks because of the op but did a sneaky check this morning (couldn't wait till Fri!) and it looks like I'm on the right track as I'm about 1.5lbs off since last WI, but it's Fridays WI that will count so going to have to keep working towards that.

Btw, the HD Spanish chicken bake was absolutely lush, highly recommend! Trying the jambalaya tonight s will report back!

bigTillyMint · 27/02/2013 13:46

Stickwithit, every week would be a no-loss week for me thenGrin

Any idea how many points Floradix would be?

I don't use my activity points at all because I am normally very active and I think only the "extra" ones would count. There is no cross-trainer - very annoying - I think you have to go on how hard you worked-out then point it as jogging/running/interval training?

onthemetro · 27/02/2013 13:56

Will be back later to have a proper read but just wanted to come in and say eeeeeeeee I just bought size 12 jeans in New Look! I was struggling to fit into size 16 ones before Christmas Smile
The friend I'm shopping with doesn't really share my joy but I figure you guys would understand Grin

bigTillyMint · 27/02/2013 15:51

Well done metro!

CiderwithBuda · 27/02/2013 16:09

Wow onthemetro that is FAB! Size 12!!!!!! You must be chuffed!

Thanks NoWay. I might email them and ask.

We are having the Spanish chicken tonight. Glad it's good!

jazzcat28 · 27/02/2013 19:51

Well done metro!!! Can't wait to wear a size 12!!

I have just consumed pizza and birthday cake as its DHs birthday so pretty much guaranteed a gain on Saturday. Will try and stick to my dailies tomorrow and Friday but it doesn't look good

backinaminute · 27/02/2013 21:41

Well done Metro. One of my goals is to be able to walk into Topshop and easily buy a pair of jeans. It's been a lot of years since I could fit into their clothes. Size 12 would make me very excited indeed.

I've had 2 very motivational days. I've been to a staff conference on KIT days so seen loads of people I've not seen for ages and loads of people commented on how much weight I've lost. I felt brilliant and thought about it while I watched everyone else eat chocolate torte for dessert and just had coffee.

It's given me a real boost and reminded me why I'm doing it. I know my clothes are baggy. I've got 4lbs to go till my 10% and I've promised myself I will buy some new trousers then. It will also keep me on track to get this next bit off and an exciting reward.

I've worked there for nearly 10 years and one colleague said that its the slimmest she's ever seen me and I think she's right. I wish I'd been braver and weighed myself more as I'd know what my heaviest was. Turns out there are some advantages of the chaos and mania that is two children under 2.

I know this sounds a bit gloaty but I've still got a very long way to go but I've been feeling a bit flat this week. I think the novelty has worn off and it's more of a slog.

Just thought I would share as I know, like Metro says, you'll share my excitement.

I get extra breastfeeding points and sometimes struggle so those of you on 26pp are doing so well. It must be so hard but I had a little glimpse of how it will feel to get to goal and it will be worth it in the end.Grin

NoWayNoHow · 27/02/2013 22:03

Backinamintue, that's love.y that you've bad two good days like that - it's lovely whe. People comment so positively on the changes were making.

Onthemetro, well done that's brilliant!

Well, I can confirm that the HD jambalaya is absolutely amazing - DH said he would have paid for it in a restaurant, and is already telling me to make it my new meal to make when we have friend sober.

I have ended the night on a somewhat shitty note, however, but eating Nutella out of the jar. 4 spoonfuls... BlushBlushBlush

Someone give me a swift kick! I'm already so bloated (must be after effect of op as cant think why else I look 5 months pregnant) so losing weight is becoming really quite desperate...

NoWayNoHow · 27/02/2013 22:04

That was a lot of typos!! Anyone who can decipher that gets a spoonful of Nutella.Wink

AddictedtoCrunchies · 27/02/2013 22:27

Onthemetro well done on the size 12s I'm very envious of you (but also very proud of you Grin )

CiderwithBuda · 28/02/2013 11:11

Morning all.

NoWay - Nutella! Bad girl! Suggestion - the chocolate Philadelphia. I have half a little tub (I think they are 2 point each) on 2 oatcakes which fills the Nutella gap. Nice filling snack for 3 points.

We had the Spanish chicken last night. We were not overly impressed. I'll try it again but may cook it slightly differently.

Backinaminute - it's fab when people notice isn't it. Makes the slog worthwhile.

I'm feeling positive. I feel better - I feel slimmer. I just need to stick to it and not give in to the wine. I went shopping yesterday and bought two mini bottle of White wine. Fancied a treat last night so had one. Enjoyed it and wasn't tempted by more. Saving the other one for Saturday. Every other evening I have half a glass of light wine with soda and ice and make it last all evening but sometimes I just want proper wine! And if I open a bottle all willpower goes out the window.

There is a cake sale at DS's school tomorrow so I am making chocolate muffins. Could be dangerous!

Spaghetti bolognaise here for dinner. Small portion for me with lots of salad.

Have a good day everyone,

SallyBear · 28/02/2013 12:19

Haven't weighed myself. I've been doing a lot of emotional eating as I've been through the mill this week worrying about DD's impending surgery (which is major facial reconstruction using bone grafts), and after eating a large McDs and probably my body weight in fruit pastilles I've decided (this took 3 days btw) that we won't be doing this surgery. I now have to look for alternatives and third opinions. So. Tomorrow morning I will weigh myself and I'm fully expecting a gain as I've showed little interest in WW this week - apologies for letting you and myself down. Sad

OP posts:
OhTheConfusion · 28/02/2013 12:57

Oh Sally I think under the circumstances you are allowed. Hope your DD is OK. Sad.

Onthemetro... WOW!!! I am so happy for you, I dream of size 12 clothes (and Topshop - backinaminute Wink).

Cider we had the HD Spanish chicken last night but used orange peppers instead of green, breast instead of thighs and M&S paprika and sweet pepper herb mix... it was lovely!

AddictedtoCrunchies · 28/02/2013 13:01

Sally you haven't let yourself down and certianly haven't let us down. We'll be here to support you and listen whenever you need us. Weigh in tomorrow and then take it from there. I've done you a special Crunchie line..

Smile ThanksSmileThanksSmileThanks___

backinaminute · 28/02/2013 14:01

I'm totally with crunchie on this. Maybe just try to focus on staying the same rather than loosing. It might take the pressure off a bit but by gaining you might feel worse undoing the good work you've already done Thanks

CiderwithBuda · 28/02/2013 15:16

Sally - please stop thinking that you have let anyone down. You have a lot on your plate and although losing weight is important for health etc., it sounds like what you and DD are having to deal with takes priority. I spent months emotional eating in 2011 as DS was so unhappy at school. It got me through. Not the best way to handle the stress but not the worst. I hope you manage to do what is best for your DD and get the support and help that you need.

OhTheConfusion · 28/02/2013 16:11

I really men't to say earlier... but of all the threads to have a message deleted I never imagined it would be the WW one! Hmm

SallyBear · 28/02/2013 17:02

Thank you all for being so kind (and for the beautiful Crunchie line!). I promise to return to my new ways tomorrow, and that this was just a minor blip. We all have them! Grin

OP posts:
Livinginorganisedchaos · 28/02/2013 17:33

Sally I totally agree with the others, you havent let anyone down and at the end of the day you were just doing what you had to do to get through a difficult week. BTW I hope you find the right answer to help your DD.

I am also an emotional eater and I know that once you start beating yourself up on a gain in weight, eating more is often the easiest way to make yourself feel better.

So, I do think you need to need to let this week go and start afresh tomorrow. You will feel better for being in control again and just keep reminding yourself of all your successful weeks and how great that felt.

We are all in this for the long haul and its the slow weight loss that is most likely to stay off in the longer term!
