Just thought I would start a new thread, seeing as we are perilously close to the 1000 posts cut off!

We have all started WW this January and so far so good, we are all losing. This is a really supportive group. Please feel free to join us and share your WW tips and any recipes that you may have. Smile

Morning all, just back from meeting and lost 0.5lb which is less than I'd hoped but I had fallen off the wagon yesterday eating two big slices of cake so I can't complain! A loss is a loss as they say and as I've now lost weight every week for 7 weeks consistently I know I can do it if I stick to the plan properly

onthemetro · 23/02/2013 10:08

Well done everyone on the losses! I'm currently at my meeting (yay for on the go MNing Grin) and I've lost 2lbs this week, making me 14st exactly. Sooo looking forward to being in the 13s next week (fingers crossed!) - 13st 13 is my 5% Smile

Hope you're feeling ok cider, that sounds awful Sad I had a similar experience after having prawns at a restaurant once, except it was er...(tmi warning!) coming out both ends Blush just awful

bigTillyMint · 23/02/2013 10:35

Right, I need a massive crunchie line after a week away skiing eating and drinking.

I have not dared to weigh myself this morning - WI tomorrow...

Spotted the spreadsheet - do I just add myself? Tomorrow?

MyDingaling · 23/02/2013 11:36

Hello can I join please? I joined WW on line 9 days ago and have been reading this thread every day - you ladies are all doing so well.
I am finding it hard, trying to point up everything, it is taking me a long time to plan my food each day.
I have bought the HD cook book but need help! How many points are the meatballs? How do I work it out? I wanted them with pasta but I can't find basic wholewheat pasta on the tracker thing.
I hope this all becomes easier, I love that I can have a Curly Wurly each day and a glass of wine (or three), this will help to keep me on track.

DebussyHead · 23/02/2013 11:48

Morning all! Well done on more losses! Chinese buffet sounds v hard to navigate on WW. I like pizza express and prezzo for eating out as they are much easier to point.

WI for me tomorrow first thing. I did a sneaky WI on thurs and this morning (I'm so impatient). I was 11st 12.4 on thurs AND same today which is only 0.4 loss so pretty disheartened with that as been sticking within budget and have about 8 weeklies to use today. I prob won't touch them now in the hope I can lose a whole pound before tomorrow morning!! This 2 stone is going to take months and months to shift at this snails pace! Confused

onthemetro · 23/02/2013 13:28

Welcome dingaling! It will become easier, I promise. I felt utterly lost for the first week, but now it's like second nature. Do you use the app? Or a notebook? I find it really helps to keep track using one or the other. Plus the app gives you a nice weight loss graph Grin

Tilly yup just add yourself to the spreadsheet, docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AgfMMHsnRKCOdGFHeDh6Z3VfWUxXMHJwMzFuZ0YtSUE#gid=0

I was thinking maybe we should change the dates to WI 2, WI 3 (etc) or something because right now it's a date and obviously not everyone weighs in on the same day. What does everyone think?

I finally bought the HD book after my meeting today, using a forgotten about voucher from Christmas from FIL. Just going through it pointing up recipes, and writing them in the book just so I won't have to faff around when I get around to making them. I'll make a list of the ones i've pointed and post it in here later, or i'll see if I can add them to the spreadsheet somehow

MyDaydream · 23/02/2013 13:40

Weigh in this morning and I've lost 3lb which I'm happy with. I had a crap day yesterday and seemed to be eating for the sake of it which I'd avoided all week by keeping busy but I was so tired I just wanted to relax. Going to work on that next week, and hopefully get some more intense exercise in too.
How do you all point eating out? DP is taking me for dinner tomorrow night and I'm not sure what to do. We're going to an Italian and would like main and dessert but don't want to go too crazy on points if I can help it.

jazzcat28 · 23/02/2013 15:53

mydaydream well done on the loss that's amazing!

I have the eating out book from WW - are you going to a branded place (like Bella Italia, ASK, Prezzo etc)? If so let me know and I'll give you some low point options out of the book.

If not, maybe you could make a note of a few low pointed dishes from one of the branded places and hope your restaurant has something similar? From an initial glance Prezzo and ASK look lower pointed than Bella Italia.

I had a 3 course meal at Prezzo in my first month and lost 2lb - I had king prawns to start, chicken pesto risotto and chocolate fudge cake for pudding! I did have 0pt soup for lunch that day and then ate into some of my weeklies but it was worth it!

I'd avoid garlic bread, cheesy pasta (e.g. carbonara) and stick to tomato-based pasta dishes.

jazzcat28 · 23/02/2013 15:57

Just updated my stats on the spreadsheet.

onthemetro I'm so jealous of you being on the cusp of having a weight starting with a 13.... Hopefully I'll be in that position in the next 5-6 weeks Smile

jazzcat28 · 23/02/2013 16:00

dingaling do you have the app or online subscription? I find the app a god send for pointing things. Just looked up wholewheat pasta for you and it's 4pp for 40g dried or 6pp for 190g cooked.

MyDingaling · 23/02/2013 17:00

Thanks Jazzcat, I have the app and the online subscription, maybe I need to investigate it further!

AddictedtoCrunchies · 23/02/2013 18:25

Dingaling when I made the HD meatballs I pointed them at 24 for the whole lot (I used 450g lean mince instead of 500) and that made 18 balls. I had 6 which was a third so I divided 24/3 making 8pp. Then I pointed my pasta. Worked for me and they were delicious. Having them again in Tuesday Smile.

Welcome to our gang Smile

DebussyHead · 23/02/2013 21:21

I have a stinking cold so just come to bed. Saturday is my last day of the WW week so usually splurge day when I use up unused saved weeklies on a couple glasses of wine, nice meal and peanut butter toast. Tonight due to congestion I can't taste a thing!! We bought lovely (v pricey!) fillet steaks and a nice Shiraz for tonight and it was like drinking water and cardboard as I had no smell or taste so gave up half way through and gave my meal to my husband as not worth the calories. Wink He was delighted!! So have ended week 3 with 8 unused weeklies. We are meant to be going to pizza express tomorrow fir husbands birthday as he got a free bottle of prosecco voucher but if I still can't taste there is no point drinking the fizz or having the pizza, could just have a big salad with Jo dressing. Or eat the napkin! Grin

bigTillyMint · 24/02/2013 07:59

Right, I'm back on the wagonSad
2lbs on after one week away!

SallyBear · 24/02/2013 08:16

You're in good company Tilly!! I'm being extremely abstemious this week.

OP posts:
backinaminute · 24/02/2013 08:47

I've added myself to the spreadsheet. I think it's a really good idea, thank you.

3lbs off for the second week running at my WI on Thursday. Used some weeklies for the first time and so feeling a bit more confident about using them now.

However....... Went out for tea last night for a family meal in a pub and basically gorged on 'not remotely' sensible food choices! I think I'm within my weeklies. It was a chicken feast buffet (all glamour here) and I very much enjoyed a lot of chicken goujons, smothered chicken and onion rings. Have to say though that I would have done this before but also had a starter, dessert and lots of alcohol. In all fairness I was slightly more restrained in the quantity than i would have before Xmas. I offered to drive so drank diet coke and didn't have a starter or main (although had a bar of dairy milk when I got home). Did resist a variety of homemade cakes at a birthday party in the afternoon, again, previously would have had the lot.

I reckon after my slightly ambiguous pointing when I got home (lots of guesstimation) that I'm still within my weeklies as hadn't used any and is kept back 30 dailies for it. Surely I can't have used 79 points in one course with no alcohol??? (And a bar of chocolate) can I?

jazzcat28 · 24/02/2013 09:58

Well I think I've failed this week already. Weighed in the morning, party in the evening - think I had a bottle of wine to myself plus some onion rings, sausage rolls and cake from the buffet. Blush

Am at risk of doing further damage to the diet today as am majorly hungover so feel a bacon sandwich calling

SuzySuzSuz · 24/02/2013 10:11

Some great losses above and some tough times too, for me included...

Been fine all week, then Friday dinner time I'd made myself a nice propointed dinner, however struggled to resist my husbands nicer un-propointed dinner so gobbled down a sausage a few potato wedges after eating my own dinner Blush

Then tried to battle the 'well I've messed this week up now so may as well chomp away....' I haven't gone too array and am trying to get back on track today, however know I've gone over my dailies and weeklies so at best I'm going for a stay the same at tomorrow's weigh in.

CiderwithBuda · 24/02/2013 11:10

Hi all. Welcome Dingaling. This thread is great - really helpful.

Well done on that loss mydaydream. 3lbs is great.

And get back on the wagon you lot who have fallen off! Smile

I was fairly good yesterday. Had a few glasses of wine though. Not too many. Had HD masala chicken and cumin roast veg for dinner with a yoghurt raita. It was yummy. I didn't bother with doing a whole chicken and skinning it like in the recipe. I just used skinless chicken breasts.

Have just had a big bowl of porridge with blueberries and almonds and walnuts. Am still hungry though. Might have a banana in a minute. Planning tomato and lentil soup for lunch. Lamb noissete for dinner. I will have the veg and one roast potato and a Yorkshire pud. We have them with every roast as DS prefers them to potatoes. The frozen ones are only 1 point each.

Planning another fast day tomorrow. Although I am finding I get a bit constipated for a few days after I do one. Might get some gentle laxative to take the night of a fast day. I also need to drink more water.

I would love to lose 2.5 pounds this week on Tuesday's weigh in. Fingers crossed. And mouth taped shut!

OhTheConfusion · 24/02/2013 16:27

Well done on the fab loses!

Cider how was the cumin roast veg? I fancied making it with roast chicken this week.

I have been so much better behaved this week... no alcohol and more exercise. Just hoping it shows on the scales this week!

CiderwithBuda · 24/02/2013 16:34

The cumin roast veg was very nice. Tastes like Bombay potato. Lovely with a simple raita of fat free yoghurt and some mint sauce.

SallyBear · 24/02/2013 17:08

Like the sound of that Cider.

bigTillyMint · 24/02/2013 17:54

Just stuffed my face with roast chicken, veg and gravy. Yummm!

I also like the sound of cumin roast veg - might give that a go soon!

OhTheConfusion · 24/02/2013 20:22

Yum, sounds good!

MyDingaling · 24/02/2013 20:41

Thanks for the warm welcomes!
Congratulations DayDream 6lb in two weeks, well one.

I had HD chicken and mushroom risotto for tea - it was delicious, we will definitely have it again. An added bonus was both DD's wolfed it down!

Didn't do too well yesterday, went out shopping with my mum and went for a cuppa, I succumbed to a raspberry and white choc muffin. when I got home and put it into tracker it was 19 points!!!! Shock I will not make that mistake again.
