ginger your DS sounds so sweet! Sometimes I could really do with someone holding my hand at the end or picking me up from a collapsed position.
Actually at the moment I could do with someone to give me a kick up the bum as I have done nothing since my yoga workout on Monday; have been working late but that is no excuse. So tomorrow is S&S, Sunday Killer L1, Monday 6w6p! That's the plan!

threestepsforward · 24/08/2013 11:16

Aw gingercat, bless your DS :)

Ponks go for it! With those weekend plans you'll be well back into the swing of it by Monday! I always find it surprising how easy it is to slip back, but then how easy it also is to get back into the zone as it were...

Happy BFBM'ing notyummy!

Killer 2 for me yesterday. Really enjoyed it and gave it everything. Outdid both Nathalie and Anita on the final star jumps I am SO red after finishing any level of killer lol

That's it for me for now. Friends on their way down to celebrate good friend's birthday. Bbq prepped, cake made, if we could just have a tiny slither of sunshine would be perfect Grin

Hope everyone has a great weekend. Have a good one whatever you are all doing :)

Yes Ginger your DS does sound lovely!

Did my BFBM this morning whilst being slightly rained on. Felt really good. As usual circuits 2 and 6 were hardest but overall I didn't find the whole thing that hard, which means the hard programmes on the cross trainer must be working their cardio magic! Had to adapt the burpees as they were the only exercise I couldn't do properly. Having said it wasn't too hard, there is a possibility that my thighs may not think that tomorrow after all the different variants on squats... Managed a 6 mile power walk yesterday and two lots of Callanetics and press ups...more walking tomorrow and Callanetics. NMTZ on Monday as long as back feels ok and cross trainer Tuesday.

Jacksterbear · 26/08/2013 15:35

Hey all. Into 2nd week of my holiday and on track to shred every other day (have done x5 so far since arriving last Sat). And have learned the hard way to put a towel down over the damned seagrass rug!

Have you managed to NMTZ / 6w6p, notyummy and ponks?

Outdoing "the girls" on any level of killer is impressive, 3steps! Grin

Loving the stories of DCs joining in workouts! Smile

Ponks · 27/08/2013 17:53

Very impressed with Jackster & Notyummy taking DVDs on holiday!

I feel more back on track now having enjoyed Killer L1 and S&S L1 over the weekend - plan was for 6w6p today but was home early so changed to S&S L2 - found it hard today & couldn't jump in the lunges but felt stronger in some of the other exercises so overall I'm feeling positive.

I even bought some 3kg weights over the weekend! (Which for me is Huge) Getting there!

threestepsforward · 27/08/2013 18:15

Second Ponks - kudoz to notyummy and jackster for holiday exercising! Jackster every other day is brilliant. Hope you are having a great hols :)

Ponks great to hear you are back in the swing of it. L2 S&S is funny I think, not as easy to flow through as L1 which is my firm favourite! Congrats on your 3 kg purchase, they are my heaviest too!

After a weekend with food and drink a'plenty, I got back to it yesterday with L1 S&S, L1 Killer will be today, in a minute. Friday is a day off so I'll be doing BFBM tomorrow (yikes), L2 Killer on Thursday and then double S&S on Saturday or Sunday (there's a big air show on here at the weekend so it depends what's going on when...)

Will check in tomorrow after hopefully completing BFBM.

Oh, and back appointment today - am 99% there, yippee!! 1 appointment a month for a while should keep me on track to 100% Grin

Have a good evening everyone

threestepsforward · 28/08/2013 15:04

Yipee, I did it!!! All the way through BFBM Grin

Was not looking forward to it, and had an hour to spare earlier in the day so decided to get it done. Each circuit (except for 6) is actually really manageable, but put them all together and you have a total sweat fest!

Onwards to Killer 2 tomorrow and then day off on Friday...

Hope everyone's doing well :)

Jacksterbear · 28/08/2013 19:20

Yay well done 3steps, it's so good to get over a psychological barrier like that when you have previously felt defeated by a workout! I must say I have blocks like that about killer L2 and es&s L2, and I need to do both of them to get over that!

Woohoo ponks 3kgs! I'm impressed. Have u used them yet?

Annoyingly did not get to workout today, ending my perfect "every other day" run, but intending to shred both tmrw and Fri to keep the overall number on target.

threestepsforward · 28/08/2013 21:45

Thanks Jackster :) One of my favourite sayings is 'the thought is worse than the deed'. It's spot on more often than not and always helps in a situation like this lol

Well done you for squeezing in the extra shred to make up the numbers, that is Dedication

Enjoy the rest of your hols :)

notyummy · 28/08/2013 22:11

Well done threesteps! I plan to give Killer a try next week as a gradually work out which of Jillians DVDs work for my back. So far BFBM, NMTZ and Shred- good. Ripped- bad.

Ponks · 28/08/2013 23:01

Woo threesteps on BFBM! (great news about your back too!)
I haven't got that DVD as I thought a solid cardio workout might be too much for my ankle - is there a lot of bouncing / leaping around in it? Might be one for the Christmas list.

Haven't used the 3kg weights yet Blush - they seemed soo heavy when I got them, then I realised that they are actually a lot lighter than the "8's" that Jillian is always making Natalie or Basheera use so I need to up my game a bit and push myself to use them.

Jackster I've got the Killer L2 block too at the moment - must do it this weekend to get over the block!

gingercat12 · 29/08/2013 12:53

Ponks I hate my 3 kg weights Blush. The only good thinkg about them that they make the 2 kg weights feel really light.

It is a bad idea to start BR on a bank holiday Monday 9with buying school shoes and stuff), so I'll start next week.

Instead we did BFBM with DS, and lots of Ripped. Sometimes he is so impressive, other times he does arm circles in the armchair, because they are too much. He has his own mat now, and is very proud.

Hope everyone is coping with the back to school madness. Flowers

threestepsforward · 30/08/2013 10:07

Gingercat your DS sounds so funny! It reminded me of when I was about 10/11 years old, in the 80s when Jane Fonda etc. took off - I used to go to aerobics classes in a church hall with my mum and run around and annoy everyone I also used to chase behind her when she went jogging. I remember she bought me a red velour tracksuit Blush

Hi Ponks! There is a fair amount of plyo stuff in BFBM so maybe not the best option if your ankle is a bit fragile? Definitely one for the christmas list though Wink

Re the weights - aren't the american guys using different units - so their 8s are not the same as our 8 kg - I'm probably wrong... but she mentions 20s at some point, surely she can't mean 20kg Shock

Notyummy it's great you've worked out now what is bad for your back and what isn't. You're doing amazing :)

I did L2 Killer yesterday evening, which was hard as I was surprisingly achy after BFBM the day before.

The blocks are horrible - go for it Ponks and Jackster and kick the butt of your L2 Killer and S&S nemeses (nemesises)!?! I can tell you you'll feel like a total superhero afterwards Grin

So day off today and have completed my plan for this week, yay, which was L1 Killer, L1 S&S, BFBM and L2 Killer. Plan to do a double S&S over the weekend at some point, wish me luck!

Have a great weekend everyone x

notyummy · 30/08/2013 11:16

Yes- US will be using pounds so 8lb is roughly just over 4.5kg I think. Shred level 2 and 20 mins on cross trainer today. Off to Whitby for weekend with MIL so I won't jump around in front of her! I am hoping she will have dd for a little while sat and sun to allow me to do power walks along the cliffs- and sneak in some Callanetics in my bedroom of course! Have good weekends all.

Ponks · 01/09/2013 15:13

Today was Killer L2 - did it but have to admit I had a little breather between circuits. At least it meant I had enough power and puff for the jumping lunges and the star jumps at the end. Plan is to do it again twice in the week and aim to get through without stopping.
Hope everyone has had a good weekend Smile

Jacksterbear · 01/09/2013 20:06

Woohoo ponks, well done re killer L2, and good luck with doing it again and improving each time!

3steps did u get your S&S double done?

Hope you've had some lovely power walks notyummy; and gingercat love to hear your stories re your ds!

Well, I did it! 7 shreds in a 2week holiday (admittedly cheated a bit and did the last one after getting home, as hangover packing and last-minute sunbathing took over on final day of hols Grin). Still quite chuffed with myself. And it was definitely getting easier by the end.

Good luck to all with dcs returning to school this week!

X

threestepsforward · 01/09/2013 21:02

Jackster well done on doing the final one after getting home - I think that deserves much respect, I have a feeling I would have gone 'ah well'! Glad you had a good hols :)

Fantastic on doing Killer L2 Ponks. Honestly, 2 more times and you'll be getting through it in one go. It does feel pretty hardcore though doesn't it?

Hope you enjoyed Whitby notyummy - I've never been but would love to go, I've heard it is lovely...

Forgive me for I have sinned and have not even done one level this weekend, let alone two!

I had to take Friday off, then Saturday was busy shopping and prepping for a bbq and watching the airshow so the plan was to do it today. But I had the mother of all hangovers (Blush) so there was just no way I could have exercised.

Things for the next few weeks are quiet so plan is to do the double next weekend. My plan for this week is:

Mon - L3 Shred
Tues - L1 S&S
Weds - L3 Killer
Thurs - L2 Killer
Fri - L1 S&S + some of L2 - as far as I can go time / energy wise!

Blimey sorry for long post - hope everyone is well :)

Ponks · 02/09/2013 17:54

Did Killer L2 again today and much better this time Grin ! Feel great having done it.
Plan is now to do something easier tomorrow - might do the Yoga L1 or even try L2. Then 6w6p L1 Weds, Shred L2 Thurs and Killer L2 again Fri. I also have a couple of riding sessions booked in during the week which helps stretch the legs out again.

jackster well done for all the exercise on holiday! That's inspirational!

gingercat12 · 02/09/2013 19:36

threesteps You must have been so sweet with your Mom Grin

Welcome home Jackster!

I cannot wait for school to start. DS is going stir-crazy, he is just missing his friends so badly.

Have started BR on L5 today. I forgot how hard it is. My arms are falling off.

threestepsforward · 02/09/2013 20:29

Gingercat I think i was the true 'velcro child' lol Well done on jumping in at Level 5, that's brilliant!

Yay ponks, well done! Once I'm able to peel myself off the floor after Killer, the feel-good endorphins are immense! Your plans for this week sound great. I think it was you who recommended I write down a plan for the week and it's really helped me, so thank you :)

L3 Shred done today, plus an hour or so gardening! Shred seemed a breeze compared to BFBM or Killer but I enjoyed it. Tried to do the boxing cardio with 2 kg and there was no chance, had to change down to 1.5 ...

L1 S&S tomorrow ...

Hope everyone is well and doing well :)

OP posts:
notyummy · 03/09/2013 11:56

5 mile power walk and L3 shred today- with 3kg for the cardio with weights bit- go me!! Suspects arms may feel it tomorrow.... The dreaded jumping lunges were awful. Trying Killer L2 tomorrow.

gingercat12 · 03/09/2013 13:05

threesteps Thanks for the sellotape Flowers

notyummy · 04/09/2013 12:03

L2 Killer done- more of the dreaded jumping lunges! Didn't find it too bad and didn't really get out of breath until the final circuit. That said, my legs def felt it so will be interesting to see how they are tomorrow! Rest day tomorrow- just Callanetics. Cross trainer on Friday- will be a squeeze to fit it in as such a busy day. Out staying at friends Friday night so may feel fragile on Sat- will see how I feel and whether I can muster the energy to exercise!

Hope you are all enjoying the good weather and squeezing in some exercise.

knottyhair · 04/09/2013 13:12

Hi all! Just popping on to say keep up the good work! Don't get much chance to post although I do read the thread often. Am managing to fit in some kind of Jillian about 6 days out of 7 - Ripped L3 today. Will do L4 tomorrow and then work out a plan for the next few days. Knee is still niggly but I just substitute moves when it seems dodgy, I suppose as long as I keep moving!

threestepsforward · 04/09/2013 13:41

Nice one with L2 Killer notyummy! That final circuit is getting slightly easier for me after a few goes through. She has jumping lunges in L3 too, grrrrrrr....

Knotty hope the knee improves, well done for keeping on despite it and finding substitutes. 6 out of 7 days is fab Grin

I did L1 S&S yesterday and have just finished L3 Killer I didn't phone in any of it apart from the one-leg dead lifts. I did those on 2 legs as for some reason my back gets nervous.

Have had the chance to exercise earlier these last few days and it is great as it's done and dusted! Back to late afternoon tomorrow though, L2 Killer...

Have a good day everyone, make the most of these last few days of summer sunshine if you can :)
